Steve's Woodworks - Hill Country Stairs

I was very pleased with the finished product of what I hired Steve to do. I do however feel that the labor charges were questionable when work was not done on the premises and for what I was charged and had to be addressed. I feel that it is only fair to the customer that work should be done at the place rather than some being done off sight. I also feel that any unused supplies that were charged to me such as paint and accessories to complete my job should be given to the customer as I had paid for those items and that was not the case for these jobs. Overall, Steve's finished work is what I hoped for and I love the finished look.

Steve did an outstanding job on our home. We have an older home, approx 108 years, with many fine details.He arrived around 9:30 in the morning and went to work fixed and realigning 3 heavy wooden doors. He als repaired the hardware for those doors. The Steven installed three baby gates which was ne easy task given the ago of our home and the wood trim. Steve was able to address the needs while caring for the condition of the job. He was respectful of us and our home and I trusted him to do the work. I look forward to working with him again on some other projects I have.

They were prompt when they came out for the estimate, but they never got back to me, and we were not able to use their service.

These folks were terrific to work with from phone calls/e-mails to the site visit for job estimate to the actual work. The job took two days and the work was thorough. I am completely happy with the finished work, the quality of the work and with how well it went. The worksite was clean and tidy after each day's work. I could tell that Steve cares about doing it right and doing it well.

Steve is a genuinely nice guy! That may sound-- to some-- like a simplistic description for a service review, however it says it all. Steve came over expecting to work on installing crown molding in my living room. As luck would have it, we were experiencing a and quot;heat waveand quot; in the metro area, so I decided to change projects at the last minute and work on exterior weather-proofing my windows. Steve was an absolute sport about the last minute change. Though he wasn't exactly versed on using an aluminum break, he was quite flexible in terms of both skills and attitude; he was completely open to learn and quot;how-toand quot; in the unfamiliar aspects of the job and fell in step quickly in all the areas in which he is a master.

He and his wife came over about 2 weeks ago. They drew a plan up for me. It was a very good plan and the price was ok. He's going to call me back after the holidays with a bid. I'll probably go with him because I liked what he showed me.

110% delighted with Steve and his work. He is a master craftsman who takes great pride in what he does. His estimate was accurate and he supplied every receipt for materials he purchased. Before he left, I hired him back to install a closet for me. Kind of hate leaving this review as this means he'll even be busier but fair is fair. You'll probably have to wait a little bit but I don't mind that. I can wait for reliable, reasonable and skilled. Steve does great work at a fair price.

Steve and Darcy are a joy to deal with; they are responsive, excellent communicators, extremely punctual. Payment is also extremely easy as they accept checks or credit cards and will send receipts via email. I would definitely work with them again for any number of projects.

Steve did a fantastic job. Not only did he do all the requested work for less than his quite reasonable initial quote, he also made several additional repairs to our house at no additional cost. He did very good work and seemed like a great guy. At the end of the project, he gave us very useful tips on ways we could do to fix up our house a bit. I would strongly recommend his work to others.

.We found Steve's work to be of the highest quality. The man is a professional to his fingertips. He was on time for work, and cleaned up everything each and every night before he left. There were no hidden costs. Our deck is now sturdy, strong, well-built and very attractive ... and it hasn't been painted/stained yet. We will not hesitate to call him again if the need arises.

Steve is one of the best contractors I have ever hired! He is punctual, nice to work with, meticulous, and priced very fair. We love the work he did! I felt like he wanted his work to be perfect, however, he worked quickly at the same time. We will definitely hire him again and refer him to our friends.

This was a great experience, and we have rarely been able to say that about home improvement/repair projects. Steve and his wife were a pleasure to deal with. Steve came to determine the scope of work and provided a complete and accurate estimate very quickly. Within a couple of days of accepting the estimate, we received a call from Darci to give us a date when Steve would begin the job, and he arrived on schedule and prepared to work on our home until the work was completed. Everything was completed in 3 days, which required Steve to work long hours, but he saved us additional travel charges by doing so. When he ran into a problem with the old siding on our garage breaking while he was cutting the new door opening, he came up with a creative and attractive solution. He cleaned up each day, didn't throw his drink cups or cans in our yard, and doesn't smoke so there were no cigarette butts to pick up. He went the extra mile by washing down his work area before leaving each day and putting construction debris into a trash container. Consistently pleasant, professional, considerate and efficient, Steve is someone we recommend without hesitation and will use again. We can't think of a single reason why we would not call Steve to bid on future projects.

Steve was personable and professional. He only charged me for the time it took, and did not "lolli-gag" around. I really appreciate that. I am looking to possibly hire him again to help with a partial remodel in basement bathroom.

I cannot say enough good things about Steve!!! He and his wife Darci run their company like old-fashioned family run companies. Darci called immediately to set up an appointment for an estimate. They both came out and spent a lot of time going through the house and letting me know things that needed to be done--some of which I had not seen and some of which I thought I would just have to live with. The house is a rental and they worked with me through some issues with my landlord and were very supportive and professional. I cannot emphasize enough how much pride Steve takes in his work and doing it "right."Steve discovered a significant issue in the basement and recommended that I get specific help for it. I appreciate that he went the extra mile in uncovering the problem and then recommending that I get a specific type of professional to deal with the issue. I am so very glad that Steve and Darci made the move from Reno to St. Louis. He will always be my "go-to" guy whenever I need help!!Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I joined Angie's list because of all the commercials I had seen and since I have several projects planned this summer I needed contacts that were responsive, people that I could count on, and someone who can do a great job. I contacted Steve and explained that I needed a door replaced. He came out the next day to look at the project and gave me an excellent quote for the work. I emailed Steve on a Sunday to request an install date, and he immediately emailed back and came out bright and early the next morning to install my new door! He did a great job, and I love my new door! Steve is new to our area and is eager to gather new clients, so if you are looking for that great handyman with lots of talent, call Steve!

First off, let me say that Steve is truly a nice guy and very easy going. His craftsmanship was unbelievable and all the windows he touched up looked brand new!! He custom carpentry matched perfectly with the existing framework and it ended up being a HUGE cost saver overall. After tearing out some of the bad wood he had found an area where ants had claimed a new home. He cleaned out the ants and made sure they could not get in there again. He also fixed some gutter issues we were having as well. I highly recommend his service. We will be keeping his information for the future. Thanks Steve!!

Steve was always on time he does high quality work. He repaired a closet, put in a rear entry metal door, and also put a deck on our house. Every thing went as planned and turn out to look superb. I would defiantly recommend him and his prices are reasonable. he is old school he is going to do things the way they are suppose to be done!

Great. Steve was very competent, friendly and clean. It spanned three days and he was adamant about cleaning up. A real professional.

Steve came out to my house and gave me options on what is the best thing to do about trimming my counter top. He gave me an approximate cost of $100 to get the job done. We set up an appointment. His wife Darcy called me the day before to confirm the appointment which was awesome as it reminded me of our appointment. Steve is very punctual and did a very meticulous job. Even though he quote me a $100, he said it's only $75.00. I was very happy with Steve's work and the fact that he only charge me accordingly and not to what he already quote me. Very honest!! I would highly recommend Steve to anyone who needs his expertise and services.
