Description of Work: Steve responded punctually and professionally to my request but my email routed his response to a different mailbox so I didn't see it until I had made other arrangements. Would definitely consider him for future work.

Description of Work: I received a call the evening of the day I emailed Steve. A meeting was set up sooner than later, we met, measurements were taken, ideas tossed around and an estimate should be headed my way by the end of the week. I am wanting to have a closet in my dining room that serves as my dining room and my office turned into shelving for my printer, filing, and kitchen over flow. Small house, need all the space I can utilize. This will bring me much efficiency, organization, and happiness.

Description of Work: I worked very closely with Steve Depwig to build my stairs in my home that was going through a pretty extensive remodel. When it came time to finish the stairs I looked at all the options in St Louis for experts in this area. Steve came highly praised by past clients and I can see why. He came in and knew the issues I was going to have putting in what I wanted, we planned out the stairs and custom ordered them together, I picked up the material on my own, and had it ready here for his install. The quote he provided was right on, he finished all the work, and even came back to fix a scratch I found. If you are even considering any type of custom woodwork done in St. Louis, please at least talk to Steve before you have someone "cheaper" do it. I went down that path before I met him, now each and every person who walks in the house notices my stairs first, and asks "who do you use for those"?

Description of Work: Steve is really responsive and provides lots of good information from the outset. He took the time to provide me with a detailed estimate by email, site unseen, for wainscoting and hanging prehung doors. He certainly could have declined to provide an estimate without first seeing the property, and I appreciate the fact that he gave me this information. Unfortunately, his rough estimate was too high. Other Angie's List providers also provided bids for the same work - (without visually inspecting the property first hand and based solely on dimensions and photos). Because Steve's estimate was higher than the other bids we received, we decided not to go with him.

Description of Work: He replaced a down stairs hand rail for us. The original installer did a really bad install, as it turned out it would not have even passed code. We thank Steve and will use again.

Description of Work: We hired Steve based on other stellar Angie's List reviews. He is new to St. Louis, but he has great reviews from Nevada. We had a challenge because new ceramic tile raised the floor. We wanted to replace the back door, but now standard sizes didn't fit. Steve was able to work out the problem and build us a great door and threshold. Then, we decided to widen other doorways and replace them. He did a great job with that too. Then he fixed some cabinets for us. Then he fixed our kitchen ceiling. Then he put a good handrail to our basement steps. Then he fixed some of our closets. Then he custom built some cabinets for our shoes that fit under the bed. As you can see, Steve has so many skills that once you have him in your house, you keep thinking of new things to do. He is reasonably priced and very honest and reliable. He is also very neat - he always cleans up right away, which many contractors do not do. We have new plans for Steve in the Spring.

Description of Work: rebuilt my fence after wind tore it up, finished up some landscaping I needed help with, fixed some cabinetry -looks like new. built some shelving in my garage. the best thing was that he let my 15 year old son help and learn a few things.

Description of Work: Built an entertainment center and matching custom mantel exactly to my request. I supplied him with a picture and color stain I wanted, he took some measurements and built it in a timely manner. I was also very impressed with how he cleaned up after himself each day he worked, you could hardly tell he had been working.
