They finished a small section, maybe 500 square feet and that was all. Several emails and voicemails later, and upon complaining that the red wood expansion joints were still exposed, still had nails in them and the joints around the foundation had never been sealed, Swift Concrete sent technicians out to complete those few tasks. Still more email and voicemails later, I was reassured the owner would come out to see what was needed to finished the job. The color darkness issue was not resolved, there was debris (rocks and leaves) that had been incorporated into the decorative sealant used over the expansion joints and several spots of the patio were covered with dripped or splattered deco-sealant. However, instead of hearing from the owner, the owner?s brother called with a simple message. He said ?We are finished with your patio, please do not call us or email us anymore.? When I asked why we were being treated this way, he said ?I think you know why?. When asked to elaborate, he simply hung up on me and will no longer answer my phone calls. After paying for the patio--per contract requirements payment is due after the concrete is poured not after they are finished with the project--the owner was at my door in an hour after emailing him the check was ready. He cashed the check immediately that very same day. We never saw or heard from the owner ever again, despite our begging and pleading with the office manager to please have him call us or come by. I could not and would not recommend this company to anyone as I am afraid they would suffer the same fate as we have. REBUTTAL TO COMPANY RESPONSE: Excerpt from their response to the BBB: When Mr. Carroll refers to the deco seal being smashed in that is not correct. His kids where on the deck with riding toys and did the damage and as far as leaves and debris, that also is from the kids playing on the deck after we finished the work and was told to stay off of. Fact: My children were in school the day Swift installed the deco seal and they did not come home until Swift had already left for the day. That was the last time anyone from was ever at my house. How then could they possibly say that my children damaged the deco seal while they were playing on the patio with riding toys? You can see from the email that I am asking them days later if it is even okay to let my dogs back outside---there is no mention of children doing any damage to the deco seal.
Description of Work: We put in a 2,000 square foot stamped and colored patio. Will never use this company again! We put in a 2,000 square foot patio. We asked for a stamped pattern and a certain color. The color specialist provided a sample of the color darkness using a small portion of our patio (the fireplace footer to be exact). We approved the sample on the fireplace footer. After the patio was completed, most of the patio was not even close to the darkness of the sample. Additionally, two installers worked side-by-side applying the powder coloring as they moved backwards. When they were done, a noticeable difference between each installer’s pattern and darkness could be seen down the middle of the patio. One side was dark, one side was light. After numerous calls, emails and after showing up at their main office with pictures in hand, the installers were finally sent back out to apply more coloring.

Response from Swift Concrete Inc
Swift Concrete, Inc. did all work that was listed in contract the member signed to proceed with job. Jim Savoy, Owner of Swift Concrete, Inc. was on his job when we set the job up and when we poured the concrete. Matt Savoy went and looked at area the member is referring to and we were back out there to fix it. After area was done, the member was asked if there was anything else and if he was happy with everything. In his words he was very happy with everything. We did come out and finish up the joints and deco seal a couple of days later. That is a normal process. His numerous e-mails and phone calls he speaks of are all day long every day (from the beginning of job till we completed job) after being told he was already on the schedule. He never failed to mention to us that he has spent all this money and expected us to drop what we were doing and respond to him immediately when he e-mailed or called. What he fails to tell you is Jim Savoy was out of town after his job was done. Matt Savoy was the one who returned the member's phone calls and followed up on the rest of the work. No one has every ignored him. When he refers to the deco seal being smashed in that is not correct. His kids where on the deck with riding toys and did the damage and as far as leaves and debris, that also is from the kids playing on the deck after we finished the work and was told to stay off of. He picked the colors he wanted and approved the color process after it was done. After seeing it a couple of days, he has decided he does not like it and wants us to change it. He wants it darker. Per his instructions, we did what he picked out and wanted; now he wants to change it and says we are a horrible company for not doing so. This is not a simple task to do and is very costly. That is why we do samples and make sure after work is done that they are happy with it before we apply the sealant, which he was. I have e-mails to the fact. Reason we will not go back is the member has been very belligerent to our office Manager during this whole process. He has shown up at our office and made a personal verbal threat at her and his behavior was that of wanting to do bodily harm. She has already had to call the police after he showed up and was videoing our place and her. We are in the process of filing a restraining order-civil harassment against him for her protection. His behavior is very unstable and we fear he may try and do harm to her. She has always been cordial to him and has done nothing to provoke his behavior toward her. As for our employees who did the color and seal He made numerous racial remarks. Made remarks to the fact that they had no experience in what they were doing. The member also got in a heated argument with his wife about the colors she chose in front of our employee. Our employee was fearful that he was going to actually hit his wife. After these incidents, our employees have not wanted to go back to his place because of his unstable behavior. They never said or did anything to provoke his behavior. The member has stated in writing to us that he is going to do everything in his power to ruin us and every means possible to do so. We have all documentation dealing with him. If the need to file a suit against him for slander, defamation of character, etc. we are prepared to do so. We regret that this has happened. In all of our years in business, we have never experienced anything like this. Our contract obligation with him has been fulfilled.
