Scheduling was very easy and the guy on the phone was super friendly and upbeat. I scheduled them to help my mom move out of a two bedroom humble home to a house in the heights, closer to where I live. I was confident they’d do a good job based on reviews I’d read. On the day of the move, two workers arrived with a large truck. My mom, being the nice, thoughtful lady that she is, bought kolaches for the crew’s breakfast. The guys excused themselves to the truck to eat while still on the clock. No big deal... until more than enough time to eat had passed. My mom assumed they’d come back to work after eating, but found them in the truck both staring at their phones, meal complete, all on her dime. Note that this company charges $100 per hour. To make matters worse, these two guys didn’t know what they were doing. They moved incredibly slow and wasted a lot of time, seemingly on purpose. Eventually, my mom called the manager and he offered to come to the job site and handle the situation. Once the workers heard that, they began to actually do their job, but the damage had already been done. She ended up paying almost $600 for a job that should have taken significantly less time and certainly less frustration. I am disappointed with the level of professionalism that these two movers brought, but am satasfied with how the manager handled it. I would not use this company again, nor would I recommend their services to even my worst enemy.

We checked around on prices before we booked a mover and Square Cow's cost was average. We were pretty surprised that it cost $1000 to move a house under 2000 square feet but that's the going rate. We moved a lot of items ourselves and only had them move the big furniture, our washer & dryer, refrigerator, etc. The movers showed up on time and were courteous. One mover was sick so another mover was sent to cover for him which delayed the start a bit. That wasn't a problem at all and they did credit us an hour for this inconvenience. The issue we have is that they were not very careful and damaged several pieces of furniture. They broke the bottom of a filing cabinet and it's now not sturdy enough to hold all the paperwork that is in it. It will have to be replaced. They also badly scratched a night table. Exact replacements for these items are no longer available. We submitted a claim and discovered that, per their contract, they only pay us .60 per lb on damages so they said they only owed us $60. To their credit, they did send us a check for $100 but this is not enough to buy a new filing cabinet or 2 new night stands (the damaged nightstand was part of a matching set). They also broke an entry way tile in the house we moved out of. This was a serious issue as it had to be fixed for the new owners who were moving in. I had to get with the manager to get a repairman out to our old house. Our realtor had to call the realtor for the buyers and it created a lot of headache and stress during an already stressful time. Luckily, the new owners were very nice and understanding about this damage. The repair was fixed about a week after they moved in but I had to be the point person in following up on all of this. In short, I don't feel they were careful enough and we are now left with damaged furniture that will cost significantly more than the check they sent us to replace.

Most of the move was fine. However, they forgot some things including a folding table and chairs at my former house. Some of the boxes were put in my garage that were marked for rooms in the house, but, in fairness, some of these boxes has old rooms/garage markings even though that lettering was crossed out. They did make a point of working with me to get my fridge and washer and dryer set up properly. Really appreciated that.

DO NOT USE this company. We could not be more DISAPPOINTED in Square Cow. They damaged furniture from every room in our house in addition to outright losing items we entrusted them with. We have had to chase them for any compensation and have so far not even been offered enough money to cover the furniture they lost let alone try to repair all the damage done to items. They absolutely ruined moving into our new home and we wouldn’t wish anyone else to go through this horrible experience.

Square Cow called ten days before the scheduled move and cancelled their services without provocation. They claimed they over booked and did not have the resources and did not honor the signed binding agreement we had in place for the move. Now we are scrambling to find a reputable mover to handle a 3000sq ft move on 10 days notice for a similar price. The prior reviews maybe stellar, but this is the one you should put your credence in. Do not hire this company as they do not have their management or grass roots team together in Charlotte.

Hello, We are greatly disappointed that we could not serve you in the upcoming move. We were forced to make a decision regarding our Charlotte team based on inconsistent quality. Our aim is to only provide the highest level of service and when it was evident our Charlotte branch was providing anything less we decided to make a change. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and we worked tirelessly to find a reputable and comparable Charlotte company to serve your needs. Respectfully, The Square Cow team

We used the Square Cow Moovers located in Spring, TX. Mac responded very quickly to my on line request for rates and services. During our ongoing communication, he always responded very quickly and professionally. We set up the move for May 3 in the morning. They arrived right on time and the two man crew of Jesus and Jonathan were amazing. So efficient and polite and respectful of my mom and her possessions. They worked quickly and packed everything so securely in blankets and plastic. They got her unpacked into her apartment just as efficiently. We were so happy and satisfied with their services. We will definitely use them again for another move for us or any family members.

I hired Square Cow Moovers to move my family and I'm glad we did! Working with Todd was great, he was friendly, professional, concise and answered all my questions. The team that was sent to my house (Jared, Seth, and Clyde) were phenomenal!!! Anything and everything I asked them to do was replied with a 'yessir' or 'we can do that' or 'my pleasure'. They wrapped the move out and move in house with furniture blankets to protect the house, they wrapped all my furniture with care, not a single item was dinged or scratched in the move, and they moved FAST! I was worried that since I was paying an hourly rate that they would work but not blazing fast but these guys were a blur. I did do a lot of prep (prep work is key, most of my stuff they just picked up and loaded on the truck) and moved probably half the stuff I had on my own in the days leading to the move but they were done faster than I had even planned on them finishing. Great job! Highly recommend!

Let me begin by saying, please, DO NOT entrust this company to pack your belongings, much less move them. They charge top dollar prices, for which I mistakenly assumed I would receive top dollar service. Instead I came away with items that disappeared from the pack job, items left on the moving truck that weren't returned, and extensive damage. I waited to write this review to see how they would handle the claim, which I'll get to (this is a detailed review, scroll to the bottom to see how this company conducts business, and why you should take yours elsewhere), but let me start from the beginning. Two packers showed up the day before our move. I went over explicit instructions with them about packing two antique sets of china and glassware, all of which has been in my family for generations. I got an attitude from both packers, who assured me 'we do this all the time'. I'll get to the moving (movers left items on truck and severe damage), but first, how the pack job ended up... Several pieces of china are missing. The same piece in each set, as a matter of fact. And the pack job? Terrible. They stacked boxes one on top of another as they went, so I didn't see until later that THEY DIDN"T LABEL BOXES. How awesome is it to move in and have no idea what's in each box, and therefore no idea where to put the boxes in your new home? They did bizarre things too. There was a large box that was super light, we opened it to find some hangers in the bottom, and that was it. Now let;s go to the move itself. Three guys showed up, two of which seemed like they'd never done a move before. The move itself was chaotic, but the real problem began approximately two hours after they loaded everything up into storage, and we were two hours outside of town. I received a text from one of the crew saying that when they returned to the shop they realized they forgot something in the truck. I texted back and asked if Square Cow would mail the item to me, since I was headed out of state for work. The kid responded by saying he could hold onto the item until I returned. Um, no, that's not going to work. He said he'd talk to the office and someone would contact me. I sent an email to the person who set up my pack and move. Days go by, and nothing, so I called Square Cow. The person I spoke with said they'd leave a message with the operations manager and someone would call me back. After a few days went by AGAIN, I called back, and this time I started documenting dates and times. I called back on July 7th, and was told by a different person they would leave a message with the operations manager. Still nothing. I sent another email, which elicited no response, and so I followed up with another phone call on the 31st. The person I spoke with (Misha), said she would leave a message with operations, and I explained I'd already been through that song and dance, no one had contacted me, and I wanted to speak with a supervisor. She said there was no one for me to speak with, and she'd pass on the message. Yeah, you guessed it. No one called me back. So, this time instead of sending an email or calling, I used their complaint form. I received a call within an hour from Rebecca, who said she is was the operations manager and hadn't received any messages from the office. Rebecca said she remembered the mover telling her about the item, but that he was no longer with the company, and she'd search for it. I could go on in detail about the back and forth with Rebecca, but the short of it is, she didn't find the item and told me I'd have to fill out a claim form. By the this time, it WAS THE END OF OCTOBER. Yes, you read that right. We were scheduled to move into our new home in November. Originally we were scheduled with Square Cow, but obviously we cancelled that and used another company. I decided to wait on filling out the claim form until I got back into town and was able to check our storage facility to make sure there was no other damage. The damage was extensive, guys, like heartbreakingly so. You cannot believe how the movers stacked things. They put a chair leg through a Tiffany lamp shade. I lack the words to describe my anger at their stupidity. We had scrapes, dings, chips, smashed boxes, the works. Which brings me to the end of this review. I contacted Square Cow about the missing items from the pack, the missing item from the movers (again), and the damage. I spoke with Tim, who assured me that is not how his employees are supposed to operate, and that he would personally oversee the claim. He also said Rebecca told them she resolved the missing item matter, which clearly was not resolved. I sent over numerous photos of the damage, and details about the damaged items and missing items. I sent four follow up emails asking for an update, and today I finally called because Tim wasn't providing any information. He forwarded me a letter from the claims department that they were offering me a check for $75. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, $75. I spent hours on the phone, sending emails, and chasing down answers. I have text messages and emails about missing items, in which Square Cow acknowledges they don't know what happened, and their solution is to send $75. They didn't even to offer to send someone out to repair any of the damaged items. So, run from this company. That's the moral of this very, very long story. They are unprofessional, unreliable, and non responsive. If you care about your belongings, look elsewhere.

*copied from the survey review I left* We'd never heard of Square Cow and hadn't even found you through Angie's List when we were looking for movers. You left a box with a note/flyer attached on our front door step because you saw the for sale sign, that's a nifty marketing tool, definitely got our attention! Curtis, Vince, and Manuel did an awesome job for us, especially when it took much longer to load than anyone expected. The team is very professional and polite and interacted well with me, my husband, and my curious two year old. Took very good care of our stuff. Nothing was damaged. If you advertise as being ready to move appliances and pianos, it would probably be a good idea to supply your teams with appliance straps and other tools to make the move of heavy/delicate objects a little easier/better/smoother. I feel that there were a couple of time delays because the crew did not have the proper tools to get the job done with respect to the piano and appliances. I would NOT hire again to move the piano, obviously it was just another piece of heavy furniture to the team and pianos need people with appropriate dollies and straps to avoid dropping the very heavy, and often lop sided, pieces. The piano loading and unloading made me extremely nervous. Also, our washer and dryer were easily delivered by two guys with straps down five stairs and through two doorways. Your team struggled trying to use a dolly and it probably took three times as long to get them out of the house as it would have with appliance straps. Again, nothing was damaged, but would have been worth a separate $150 to hire professional piano movers to me for peace of mind. I put "a little late" because I was told the crew would leave the shop around 8am, so we were expecting them around 8:40, but I got a call at 8:30 saying they were just leaving the shop. Not terrible, but when the day lasted as long as it did, that half hour would have hurt less in the morning than at night.

I was initially quoted $2400.00 from Kayla, who answered the phone. She was very pleasant. I asked a question about logistics and after checking with her manager, the price was raised to $4400.00. She explained it was more because they had to drive there and back. I said that is true of any move. So I guess these guys are ok for a move in the area, but they are not set up to go out of town.
Description of Work: I have used Square Cow before and was pleased with their service. This time, I called for a quote for a move for my 82 year-old mother within Texas (approx 275 miles). Her house flooded in Harvey and she is moving to Austin.

The move went perfect and the movers were great. Unfortunately the packing was pretty bad. I moved from one state to another using a national brand and they were so professional when it came to packing. The packing with Square Cow was not done well at all. Things were packed in no organized fashion. Kitchen stuff would be with master bedroom stuff. Just over all poorly done. But like I said the movers were excellent and very professional. So I am not sure if I will use them again if I do it definitely will not be for packing.

The process setting up the move was smooth and fast and everyone I talked to was very responsive. I was given a per-hour move quote. On moving day the guys showed up and got started. No issues ... except everything just seemed to take a lot longer than I expected. When I booked the move, no one set any expectations with me as to how long the move might take. I was paying an hourly rate, and based on how long it took to move my house the last time I moved (2 years ago), I was expecting the move to take between 2 and 4 hours. The move actually took about 6.5 hours. I talked to the company about how long it took and was told that was pretty standard for my sized house. Wish they had told me that up front to set expectations as to the total cost (instead of just the hourly rate). In addition to the length of time it took, they damaged my stainless fridge. There were dents in the front (2 doors out of 3 dented), the sides, and the front handle was broken off. Luckily, it still works, but it is quite unsightly now. The claims process is a pain - it all has to be conducted through mail, with pictures and forms printed and mailed in. Once mailed in, I got an email confirmation that my claim was received, then the claim was processed within about 2 weeks. Unfortunately, I got a $200 reimbursement for my ruined $3000 fridge. It's my fault that I opted for the "free" low-level move insurance. I guess I was just hoping for a company that would step up and take responsibility for the damages they caused. This is not that company.

It was a terrible experience unfortunately. Price was fine. They came on time, they were polite but they did a lot of damage and the company, especially the management didn't pay any attention to all of our requests to fix stuff, to kind of help us with this. They dumped everything very, very late at night. It was a very long move and they left. We were just stranded with all of the boxes and the boxes were not in place. Everything was marked very, very correctly and they put everything in a different place and barely put our bed together so that we could put our head down and in the morning it was a disaster. Some of the pieces were missing. It was terrible. They moved furniture and dropped furniture and broke pieces.
