James Platt, President of Lawn Doctor came out to do our estimate. We had received 5 other estimates and went with Lawn Doctor because of James. He wasn't the "front man", he actually performed our treatments rather than giving an assessment and sending someone else to do the job - someone who could care less about our yard or the relationship we may build as a satisfied customer. James would knock on the door every time he arrived, before he treated the lawn. He wanted to announce his presence and ask two questions; were we satisfied with the last treatment and was there any outstanding issues we were concerned with. Our lawn was OUT OF CONTROL and we had another company service our lawn with no improvement- they actually made the lawn worse. We have a combination of St. Augustine and Bermuda and the past company treated for St. Augustine only, killing the rest of the lawn. James immediately brought to our attention the things that were at the forefront of our mind (multiple grasses, Dallisgrass that was out of control, and a back yard that was mostly weed). He did NOT make false promises about our lawn. Instead, he was honest and said that Dallisgrass is hard to control and it may take more that one season to get rid of it. He was also honest about the back yard- there wasn't much hope for grass in 2009 because of the massive amount of weeds. However, because of his excellent treatment and passion for a green lawn our Dallisgrass is 98% gone and the back yard has remaining and new grass coming in! There are still weeds in the back yard, but we are thrilled that the grass isn't burned up and there is new grass coming in. We appreciate James' professionalism (like none we have ever seen before) and the care that he puts into each lawn. I caught him pulling weeds by hand one visit and he said it was because, "of the heat and the stress the grass is under in some areas from being dry. It is better to pull the weeds rather than spray and hurt the rest of the lawn." WHAT? WOW!! That just never happens. NO QUESTION: You'll never wonder what they did to your lawn or what they put on it. The statement that they place on your door after every treatment tells you the product and amount that was applied to your lawn.
