Description of Work: We were having problems with our garage door going up partway and then closing again on it's own. It was the same closing down partway and going back up. Les came out and although was unable to replicate the issue did find that some of our garage door rollers were cracking and needed to be replaced as we also had squealing when the garage door was going up and down. Les was low key and didn't force any services on us. He did show us the cracking rollers which we did have him repair along a general tune up. Our garage door is 5 years old and had never been serviced. He also told us that out torsion spring looked fine.

Description of Work: Called to get an estimate on a broken garage door at the home we just purchased. The technician came on Friday and found that the door could not be fixed (which we suspected) and gave us a quote on replacing the door. He came out on Saturday and within 2 hours had the door completed.

He told me it was broke. He closed for me until I could choose a new door from their fine selection. I chose the door and he came out and installed it. There was a problem with the installation because of the way the garage was built; he came back the next day with a fixed track to meet the needs of the garage.

Description of Work: My elderly mother-in-law informed us this morning that for the past two nights her garage door had been opened during the night. I was concerned someone was opening it remotely and might be going to break-in, so I called and talked to Rick at Cedar Park Overhead Doors. We discussed options and since the door opener is an older model, agreed that we might have to replace it with a newer model that can't be opened by someone driving by. Plus given my concern, he said he would get someone out today to install the new one. Within an hour, Boyd called and said he could meet me there in 15 minutes and he did so. After examining the remote control that was in the car, he found that the remote control was malfuntioning as the button appeared to be sticking and causing the door to open and close. He checked out the garage door opener itself and said that it appeared to be working fine and recommended that we replace only the remote control. He said that since he was there he would go ahead and check out and tune up the system and grease the rollers. Bottom line is that when Boyd came, we were prepared to replace the entire garage door opener for about $279.00 But thanks to his checking out and finding the real cause of the problem, we got it fixed for only $78.63. With his tune-up, the system runs much smoother and is quieter than it was, so it should last a long time. He said that if fixing the remote doesn't fix it, then he will come back out and install the new garage door opener, but they would deduct the cost of what they did today. So we really can't lose anything by trying the cheaper method. He said they don't believe in selling people something that they don't need. Finally he asked to put up a sticker by the garage door opener on the wall with his company name and number and his name on it. He told my mother-in-law that they are on call 24 hours and that if something else happens with the door such as coming open again during the night, to call them and they will come out and get it secured and make sure it's taken care of. I was very impressed with both the company's promptness and with the integrity with which Boyd fixed the problem. It's nice to find companies that are so responsive and operate with integrity!!! Thanks to Rick and to Boyd for helping fix the problem so quickly and so well.

Description of Work: Went to new showroom to look at sample garage doors. Scheduled appt. for workman to measure garage opening in order to get accurate estimate. He came as scheduled and measured the opening, which confirmed what we thought was the correct size. He also asked what we were considering in the way of replacement doors. After telling him our concerns and the look we were interested in, he gave us his recommendation. We ultimately took his advice; We weighed the pros and cons of both options and decided what was more important to us, which was maintenance, safety and cost. An appointment was determined and the company came as expected and completed the work as expected. Overall, we have been very satisfied with the doors and also the service.

Description of Work: I took advantage of an Angie's List Big Deal for the Installation of a new Liftmaster 8550 Garage Door Opener, New Rollers, Plus a Tune-Up!

Description of Work: They came out and gave me an initial quote and gave me quote for exactly what I asked for. They also suggested that I go the the showroom if I had any questions or wanted to consider any different options. The quote crew was great and answered all of my questions at the time. Then I went to the showroom and was treated very well. There were no high pressure sales here they just offered options and allowed me to take my time to make up my mind I did not know what all was available and how the options would better suite my needs. I went into the garage door replacement process thinking that I would have to spend $5000.00 but with the help of CPOD I got everything I wanted and more fro about $2200.00. They replaced my old wood and wood like material door with a new insulated steel door, they replaced my old garage door opener with a new belt drive opener that I can control via my smart phone (it allows me to open it from where ever I am and to check on the status of the door and how long it has been in it's current state (open or closed)) the door is so quite now that you can hold a normal conversation in the garage even while opening or closing the garage door without raising your voice. The temperature in my west facing garage has gone down considerably as well allowing less heat transfer to the house from that area. It was a much better experience that I would have thought going in, the price was so much better and I got more than everything that I wanted.

Description of Work: The garage door came off track and the cable was off the drum. They put the cable back on the drum, pulling the door back on track, lubricated the moving parts, adjusted the limits on the automatic opener and tightened all the bracketts on the track.

Description of Work: I don't remember the exact date or amount (I have the receipts around here somewhere), but they were great. I called because I bought a new home and my garage door frame was bent and not opening and closing properly. They came the next day, explained what they recommended that would make the most sense economically, and provided a fee quote. They encountered the need to fix another part that we had not discussed, and if that changed the cost it was a very trivial amount, if any. That fixed the problem for the most part, but I noticed that the door was still not lifting correctly. They came back out the same day I called, and figured out they needed to change the sensitivity level.
