Cedar Park Overhead Doors

This went the way you always want it to go. When I called for an appointment, they were willing to come out on Saturday or a holiday at no extra charge, though I chose a different day. Ted did an excellent job replacing the rollers on my budget-level doors, in spite of a problematic track. This managed to solve the screeching sounds I'd lived with for 5 years, which in my ignorance I thought was normal since I've never before had an automatic garage door. Ted also patiently explained to me how basic things work — like releasing the red rope to operate the door manually — which, in the owner's manual, was gobbledegook. As a retired teacher, I saw the makings of an excellent instructor. He was efficient without being hurried and thorough but not laborious. Ted was extremely personable — looking at you in the eye, speaking clearly, listening carefully, and giving you his full attention. These qualities are rarer and rarer in the service trades, especially among younger workers. That's a pity. I want a tradesman who knows his stuff and gives me confidence that I'm in good hands. This is my first Angie's list experience. If subsequent ones are half as good as this, I'll be a happy man.

Ted called me 30 min ahead of his arrival. His was very professional and set-up the system that works like a Swiss watch. No complaints overall and I highly recommend this company.

Les came by just a few minutes after I called this company. He was very knowledgeable and explained to me all the details and parts of a garage door. He did the tune up, greasing, changing of rollers, adjustment of spring and made sure the garage door was in best possible condition. Also checked it from an inspector's point of view so it will pass the inspection should we do it. Overall very happy with the service, timeliness and professionalism. Would recommend to use them.

Technician showed up on time and did a very thorough job and explained everything he did. I have used them before to install my garage door openers. Will definitely use them again if the need arises.

Now, my husband's door opens really nice and mine does not yet because mine is old. They came out when they were supposed to. They did the job when they were supposed to. They put in the garage doors when we first got here. We went back to them and they have been in business for a long time.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. The guy showed up on time but he never really did a thorough job. The oil dripped all over the car for several days. Some of the things I wanted him to fix weren't fixed although I thought I communicated that thoroughly and he indicated he understood. UPDATE 9-21-13: I called them to come out on Saturday to rectify the situation. He explained everything to me. I was very, very pleased with this fellow. My opinion has changed and I really think they are good.

One garage door was acting up and it had been years since they were serviced. I called these guys up and was surprised that a dude was at my house in a couple of hours. He was very professional, lubricated everything, tightened some screws, and tested the doors. He explained everything was working well and told me a little bit about the doors like what to expect in the future and how to maintain, I could not be more pleased. Awesome. I was prepared for more expensive news and it was nice to get excellent and honest service.

Service Tech was very knowledgeable. Arrived early for appointment. Put a reminder sticker by garage door opener to contact for next service.

They are really awesome. They are very good. It was really hassle free. The technician came in he was very cordial and he explained what he is doing and basically addressed all my concerns so it was like very quick. I get the impression that they are very efficient and knowledgeable with the technician that came in. I was up and running with my garage door opener in half an hour. I would use them again if I have any garage related problem and this is the company I would like to work with.

This is very belated, partly because I did not want to give a negative review for what appeared to be a competent company, ensuing procrastination as I tried to work out an issue over a period of months and years, and eventually letting the whole matter slip my mind. But in June, I was looking for a replacement door opener and, naturally, looked for alternatives on Angie's List. I noticed that Cedar Park Overhead Door still is highly rated, so decided give them a chance, by resubmitting the scenario using their web form. The extended absence of any response whatsoever, along with a request from Angie's List for a review last week, renewed life and timeliness to my "ancient" repair. So I will share my experience with this List, and give another highly-rated company my business. Let me explain my ratings: Quality: A for first 30 days, then became F. Averaged to a C. Responsiveness: They responded quickly to my repair request, but ignored me after I paid the bill. The initial A was so dominated by the cascade of Fs, that I averaged it to an F. Professionalism: I was very impressed by their staff at the outset (A), but aghast at the follow-up (F). Averaged to a C. And now, the rest of the story. At the end of February in 2010, Ireplaced a worn-out nylon gear on the motor shaft in my garage door opener. The installation was straightforward, but I could not get the open-close cycle adjusted. The instructions and the manufacturer of the door and gear were no help, so I called Cedar Park Overhead Door, based on its glowing reviews on this list. My wife and I were very impressed with the company from the initial phone call until the repair person finished the job and left. He was friendly, communicative, immediately recognized the problem (The motor's polarity had reversed.) and fixed it efficiently and at a reasonable price (even giving me a discount). I let Cedar Park Overhead Doors know how happy I was at that point. However, 30 days later, that new nylon drive gear on the motor shaft wore out. When I called for a second repair, I was told that, since I had replaced the gear myself, their service warranty, naturally, did not apply. That was fine and seemed reasonable, for the moment. But the repair person went on to say that I probably hadn't lubricated that gear enough, that it needed "gobs and gobs" of grease and that it would only last about 30 days if it weren't sufficiently lubricated. He further said that insufficient lubrication is a common, well-known problem with DIY repairs. This now gave me major reasons to complain. He had inspected my repair and "tuned up" the system. Among various things, he knew that I had replaced the gear myself, was inches away from the very visible gear (housing off and working with the motor) and knew that lubrication was a common problem. I think he should have noticed the lightness of my lubrication (vs. gobs and gobs) and, in any case, should have checked it. In fact, I noted that I thought a repair person should check lubrication on every service, even if the gear had not been replaced. The repair person casually tossed off my grievance. I eventually went back and checked my invoice and noticed that it explicitly stated Lube all moving parts which means he should have noticed and remedied the problem -- by contract, thus under warranty. My subsequent calls, emails and web site submissions, over a long period, on this matter received no response.

Keaton (I believe that was his name) met me at the time that the company had given me. He inspected the garage door that I had clipped with the truck. He repaired the door (adjusted the door spring and re-looped the door cables on the pulleys. He was very polite and answered all of my questions.

The young man called and showed up exactly at the time he told me he would arrive. The price quoted over the phone was a total of $100. He not only did what I needed him to do, i.e., replace the key pad, but he tightened the rails and button garage door opener so that the garage door is functioning better than it ever has. He replaced light bulbs and did general maintenance procedures on the door then charged me $20 less than was quoted because he said it wasn't that much that he had to do and I was close to their office. He was very nice, provided better service than I have ever had for my garage door and I will definitely recommend this company to anyone I know.

I really appreciated Jeff - he came to our house quickly, provided a free estimate, he did not proceed to repair the garage doors until we gave our OK. We will definitely use him againl

I had a great experience with this company, they were extremely professional, courteous, on time and the work looked great. I would recommend them to any one needing any kind of garage door repair, replacement of tune-up.

They were really good. They replaced the rollers with bearings that was the major part of the work. I used it the day after purchase. They were prompt and were able to schedule us right away. They had somebody out here the next day, so that is pretty good. I am happy. I would use them again.

Only downside was that the appointment was for 9 AM and the repair person did not show up until 2 PM - citing that he had to get his truck inspected because the inspection sticker was out of date. When we called the 'dispatcher' she said that the repair man would be a little late. But, we did not expect 5 hours late. Covert did not call us to tell us of the problem, we had to call them at 10 AM and ask if the repairman was even coming.

I looked them up but I think Cedar Park had the best rating that I liked so I called them. They were actually quite good. I even had a funky little plug or something and they saw it and they fixed it without even asking. What they did is they put in 20 of these steel ball bearing rollers and then the labor cost. They were prompt. They called, gave me a good estimate which was very accurate. They were really nice and they went over and above. He just went ahead and fixed the loose button to open the door and didn't charge me for it.

Gilbert was on time and very quick to figure out the problem. My garage door is German-made and has numerous buttons to program and operate the door. Very simple "fix" for him (not me). I had a coupon for a $99.00 inspection/tune-up but didn't need it, so I was simply charged $38.00. And, I was "schooled" in the basic operations of my unit, thanks, Gilbert! In my opinion, Cedar Park Overhead Doors is all about Know-How, Service and Integrity.

Our garage door wasn't working reliably;to the point where we thought we closed it one night only to find it still open in the morning. I checked on Angie's list and called the first three providers in my area. Cedar Park Overhead Doors had the most reviews and were the cheapest too. They even had next day availability! They didn't talk about charging extra to haul away my old door etc. My installed Dwayne showed up on time, looked at my door and said, "I brought the white door like you asked, but you know what?" "I have an almond door that would look really nice with your brick, want me to go get that one instead?" Not only did this guy go back and get another door, (I thought almond was brown and not cream.) He took the time to make sure my new garage door opener was installed correctly since I did that part myself. It?s rare in this day and age to get this high a level of customer service. We are thrilled with the new door. It looks well-constructed and is now super quiet going up and down. I was also thrilled with the customer service that Dwayne provided. I would recommend him and Cedar Park Overhead Doors to anyone.

Let me start off by say I would definitely use Cedar Park Overhead Doors again for all my door and opener needs. I was very satisfied with their service and prices. The service tech gave me a curtsy call before arriving and showed up on time. After a brief introduction and explanation of my garage door concerns, the tech went straight to work. He immediately diagnosed the problem and offered a reasonable solution and price. I was so pleased that I asked him to take a look at the smaller garage door which he did. He took his time in explanation and answered all my questions. Both doors are working great now! Let?s face it, the field tech weighs a great deal on the representation of the company providing the service. I give my tech a A++ and will specifically request him for any future service. Casey was done in less than 20 minutes ... the garage door was just off the tracks. Apparently a mud dauber had built a nest on the track and when I tried to close the door the cable hit the nest and slipped off the track. Our garage door had been really noisy prior to Casey coming out and now it is wonderfully silent. There is a 60 warranty for labor. I am very pleased with Cedar Park Overhead Doors and would use them again.

Went great. Loren came and fixed the spring the first night and then the next day came back to put in the new garage door opener. Could not be happier with him or the garage door opener. The only problem I had was that I expected him to be here the day the door broke and the girl in the office scheduled it for the next day by mistake. When I called back to find out what time they would be here, Loren came immediately and got the job done. It was a little glitch, but he stayed until 8:30 to make sure the garage was functional and then did a great job the next morning too.

WOW - now I see why Cedarpark Overhead Doors had so many A reviews. After starting off on the wrong foot -- they went out of their way to make me a happy and repeat customer in the future. Matt Gray ROCKS! and they are lucky to have him as an employee. He was professional, courteous, and apologetic. He made sure the garage door was installed on his first visit -- without any excuses, or upcharges -- and had all the materials and knowledge to complete the task. I highly recommend Cedarpark Overhead Doors - and that you work with Matt Gray. I can't remember a timey when a company corrected their mistakes and made me feel like I was important and vital to their continued success. Thanks Don, Matt and Todd.

This was the second time I have used them. They are a good company. They came out the same day and the guy was very nice.
