Summary: Exceptionally competent, unconsciously overpriced. Prices are quoted from a book which gives a worst case price with tons of padding. No reduction when job is easy. If you enjoy a feeling of having been "took", this is the outfit for you. The work gets done but you're left with a bad taste and an empty wallet. Examples: 1. Repair gas pipe. Price: $223. Job took 15 minutes and required 1 8x1/2" black nipple and cap. 2. Repair faucet: Price: $153. Job took 30 minutes, no parts. 3. Replace hot water tank: Price $1525. for 6 year tank (after $185. "discount"). Competitors prices were from $850. to $1050

The plumber arrived on time, was neat, pleasant, respectful of surroundings and competent for the task. I was pleased that the plumber was able to come on short notice! The only complaint I have is that the service charge seemed high. I was expecting below $100 for a simple quick job. I don't think it took longer than 15 minutes and no materials. On the other hand, they did show up when I needed them. Other higher rated and lower priced plumbers were unavailable for several days! I probably would use this company again if I needed quick turn around on a simple problem.

They have prompt, professional, courteous people working for them. Just wish it didn't cost so much. We responded to a offer to waive the service call fee. They make this offer periodically.

They came out for same day service and did a good job walking me through the pricing.

The person I was contacted by, Dave, was very genial. He explained everything. I didn't get back to him right away, it took me almost 3 weeks to initiate the sale.

Appointment was made ahead of time. Jarrod showed up on time as scheduled and shared with me what the costs would depending on what he discovered once he removed the handle and cartridge. High and low estimate. Very professional and personable and pleasant . The dispatch team was helpful with on the way calls and follow up calls.

It went great. They were very good; very prompt and very professional. We are just now trying to get our closet back in order. They had to jack hammer up the plumbing and repair some pipes. They did a really good job. We were happy.

We just purchased a new house and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing called to schedule our annual inspection. We informed them of the move and they transferred our membership to the new address, scheduling the plumber to come onsite the next day. The plumber arrived on time and was courteous and professional. He walked the house with me and described his inspection thoroughly while doing it. Overall the plumbing was in good shape and his only recommendation was to install water alarms in the water heaters (one in the attic, one in the garage) to let us know if the water heaters should ever start to leak. His only other comment was that the water heaters were a very basic model and would likely need to be replaced by the time they were 10 years old (2-3 years from now).

We have them come over and take a look at our piping once every year and identify issues. We've had some minor problems with leaking faucets, dripping water heater, and stuffs like that. We've been happy with them. They came over today morning and did checkup and identified some issues with our roofing that we need to cock the vent pulling into the water heater. They are very responsive. When we call them, they either answer the phone right away or they'll call us back. Their customer service is very good, top notch. They are not the cheapest, but then again they are not the most expensive. I think they are reasonably priced, maybe more towards the higher end, but we've been happy with the work that they've been doing.

They came the first day we had scheduled to install the toilets. I was hoping they would be able to pick up the toilets. They weren't able to do that, so they came back the next day and did the install. The installer was very polite and courteous. He did his work quickly and well and left. I thought they were expensive, but good.

Overall, it was a great experience.

They sent a promotion for plumbing visit that will have no service call if I schedule it for a specific date. I had to wait a few weeks for their visit to match the date. The plumber gave me an estimate that was very expensive. For the heat temperature valve, i had to accept it, since after he tried to release the valve, the dripping (outside the house) became much stronger. It cost $223 for a 10min work (and I searched the part and it is not expensive). He also gave me an estimate for replacing the garbage disposal for $331 (including the Garbage Disposal). This is very costly. I eventually got a good quality one for $80, and the labor was $78. Roughly half the price.

I purchased a new stove for our remodeled kitchen and needed the gas line lowered so that it would sit back against the wall. They came and gave an estimate but since I did not have the new stove on site we needed to reschedule the service. Through complications with the delivery I had to reschedule several times. They were very flexible and patient with me. We finally got the appliance delivered so they came to move the gas line. They called prior to coming and got the work done to my satisfaction and made the whole line compliant with current city guidelines. I would recommend them and use them again.

They've always been very good and conscientious.

I spent around $4000 to $5000 on that work. They were good. It was done correctly and on time. They were pretty professional and responsive. They do relining, that is something that other plumbers don’t do.

We had wonderful service. We used them because they were at the top and fairly close to our house. They came the same day I called. In fact, they were here within two hours and it wasn’t even an emergency. I thought the price was very good. We've noticed that prices have been going up but we didn't think it was outrageously higher. We really liked their response, they way the treated us over the phone, and the way they cleaned up. We will definitely have them back. We are planning to have them replace three toilets and sinks.

Was willing to come out Christmas Eve to repair a leak. He is excellent.

I don't particularly care for them because they fixed one running toilet and looked at the other one but didn't do anything about the other one and the other one is now running. The problem was the ghost flush where it sounded as if it was flushing but it is not.

Everything from the initial phone call, to plumber arriving, performing inspection, providing quote on-site and performing new installation, went great.

We have some problems with the water tanks of our toilets. The flaps are not always closing correctly. Sometimes the tanks flush on their own. I got one of their post cards in the mail where they offer a free service call, so I decided to let them have a look at the tanks. The technician arrived on time and was very courteous. He looked at all the tanks and recommended rebuilding their interiors at $270 per tank. You can buy a new toilet for that price! So I asked him what a new toilet would cost and learned that one new toilet including installation would cost about $700, installation only would be $400. I consider these prices outrageous and did not hire them.

Due to the hard freeze we had a broken valve in a water line in our backyard. They came the same evening although I called late on a Sunday afternoon. I did not mind that they charged me a $99 service call fee for this since we had no water in the house and were glad that somebody came out. But I do mind that the technician charged a $105 fee for work that took less than 15 minutes to complete: unscrew the broken valve and cap off the pipe. Although the technician was punctual and professional, I think their charges are way too high. I would therefore not recommend them.
