Dusty did a great job! The work was completed on time and it is quite an improvement over the shoddy fence that was there before. It was done in less than a day. I would recommend BC Fence!

Kevin was very prompt and professional. I got several bids, all of which were similar in price but I felt that Kevin understood what I wanted more than the others. I also liked how he gave me the estimate at the time of his visit, whereas I had to wait several days for the others to be emailed to me. After receiving Kevin's original estimate I reduced the amount of fence I wanted and he came right back with a revised bid. They were able to start the following week, as promised. The worker they sent was steady and did a great job, stayed until past 7pm one night to finish up. This is outdoor work in the heat of August, no less. Left the yard clean and did the job exactly as I wanted. Highly recommended.

It went very well. They called a week early, and said they'd be out to start the following Monday. Took a day longer than expected, because they hit rock in so many places (there ended up being over 30 posts). But in the end, work was all done very well. Fence design is just what we wanted, and the fence wiring is down low to the ground as needed. Dusty did a great job in helping us design, and Pedro the installer worked as hard as I've seen anyone work this summer. If you've shopped around for fencing, you know it's not easy to (1) get a timely response and bid and (2) get someone to provide just what you want in unusual designs. These guys were great, and I'd happily hire them again.

Requested a guy who cared about the details and would work with me. Would have to detach neighbors gate and replace underlying 2x4. The ground moved up and down in that small space and a rotted post had to be replaced and stabilized in cement. Pedro was willing to work as long as necessary to meet my standards for a quality job. He was very skilled at measuring and was willing to redo a small section of pickets. The neighbors gate was perfectly rehung. Was a very good experience and would use BC services again and would highly recommend them to anyone that wants a quality job and to be treated fairly.

Kevin with BC was very responsive. I had had two other fence companies out to give me an estimate, and never heard back from one. The other came in under BC's bid but had a hard time figuring out how to do what I needed. Kevin knew immediately, and answered all my questions along the way. They did the work on time and the fence looks great. After all the fence company nightmares I hear about, it was a real pleasure to work with Kevin and BC.

Prior to installing our new fence, I did considerable research on different companies and found Dusty Brents? B.C. Fence to be the best choice. Dusty was extremely professional and responsive, listened to my concerns as I wanted four types of estimates to make my choice. He was patient with me as I worked with my HOA and when it was time to install the fence ? his team was able to do it in one day. What really impressed me was the high level of care his team provided in making my backyard look BETTER after the fence installation. They filled in holes that were already there and leveled off many areas around the fence. I had flowers planted inches from the existing fence and knew that these plants would be destroyed. To my pleasant surprise, not a leaf was removed! These guys worked around the plants. I don?t know how they did it, because if it were me, I would have trampled over them by accident. I highly recommend Dusty Brents and will definitely work with him again in the future!

From the first Dusty was professional and easy to deal with. His bid was slightly lower than the competition, but it was as much his demeanor and obvious knowledge that got him the job. I was very happy with the speed and quality of the crews that did the work, and his people were friendly and informative. Dusty was always there when it was needed to make sure everything was done correctly and according to the plan. I would recommend Dusty to anyone who needs a fence built.

We were initially very pleased with the service provided by this company. Dusty came out and gave the estimate quickly and worked with us during the drawn-out process of getting neighborhood HOA approval to make all of the modifications to the property. He was very helpful with providing specs and samples needed to help me push that stuff through. Once we got that out of the way his crew was out quickly to start the job and they did a fantastic job. The fence and stairs they built look great and we are very happy with the quality of workmanship. We had an issue with the guys making a concrete mess on the driveway but Dusty helpful in getting everything fixed up and made right. Update: We didn't realize this originally, since the fence was installed in the winter, but the installers put the fence right over the sprinkler system without checking where they were putting the posts. So all of our outer sprinkler heads ended up in the neighbor's yard or right under the fence and became unusable. When I contacted the company I was rudely dismissed and told that they have no responsibility to check the sprinklers and it's completely our fault for putting a fence there. The fence was built based on the survey property lines and the sprinkler heads are mere inches from the fence so it's not as if the sprinklers are in the wrong location. Now we will have to pay a sprinkler company to fix an easily-avoidable mistake. During the original install they also spilled a lot of concrete on our aggregate driveway. I let that go because they did try to clean it up but I suspect that's only because I hadn't paid them yet. There are still many discolorations and the company was originally somewhat rude about that issue as well. Overall they do good work but I feel like the workers are sloppy and the manager tries to make excuses for them.

Response from B.C. Fence
It is very unfortunate that some sprinklers are installed beyond the property line when the sprinklers exist before the fence. Fences are installed at/inside the property line for obvious legal obligations. It is in no way, shape, or form, a fence companies obligation to move your sprinklers that were not installed within your property boundary. In addition, the style of fence that is chosen can create different thicknesses of fences. Thus, if your fence is 6 inches thick and a sprinkler is 1 inch from the property line, there is going to be a conflict between the fence and sprinkler. These are issues that a homeowner must take into consideration when deciding on a style and location of a fence. Either way, the fence company can not be responsible for the location of the sprinkler heads in relation to the location and style of fence that you want installed. If you would like to us to install a fence outside of your property boundary to accommodate your sprinkler head locations, we can do so as long as you take the responsibility of the fence being on someone else's property and do not hold us liable. I do not think the risk of placing a multi-thousand dollar fence in a location to accommodate a $100 worth of work to move a few sprinklers is the smart thing to do. However, that's the homeowner's decision. Again, either way, sprinkler locations are not the fence companies responsibility.

Dusty met me at the site and gave an estimate for the work. It was easy to understand and he answered all my questions. The price was slightly less than other bids so we decided to use BC Fencing. They were out there within a few days and completed the work quickly with little disruption to the normal park activities. After the job was completed I walked the fence with Dusty and asked for some small changes to be made, which he agreed to performed at no extra cost. It was done quickly and to everyone's satisfaction.

Contacted Dusty Brents (owner) for an estimate on our fence. After we talked about the specs on the phone, then he came out for a site visit. Very courteous, professional, and punctual. He was patient with our questions and provided some suggestions. After we received three other estimates, we found Dusty's estimate to be competitive and right in line with our specs. Dusty then came out as we had a bit of a surprise with an unknown utility line marked by 1-800-DIG-TESS. We spoke a while longer about the specs and then made a decision to proceed and contracted the work. Dusty and his three man crew showed up on-time Monday 8/19. They worked a good part of the day and were very fast. We couldn't believe their progress. They truly have their system down. Finished up half-way through the next day. The fence looks great. They even stopped by two days later to add some extra dirt to the post holes (we had them leave about 3" from the top for dirt and grass). We told Dusty that it wasn't necessary, but he said he wanted to. Just one example of how he puts the customer first. Bottom Line: The fence was built as we wanted and the crew handled the few tricky parts with ease. Dusty communicated with us as to avoid any problems and even the crew checked with us on several items before proceeding. The fence was spot on with our measurements. We are very happy, knowing we made the right decision to hire Dusty.

Dusty was great. Came when he said he would. Got his crew out immediately. Price was good. Workmanship was good and fast. If you need any type of outdoor construction these guys can do it and get it done quickly. It took me almost two months to find a contractor I was happy with, so take it from me don't waste your time with all of the other contractors and just contact BC. Right now I'm in the process of having a fence, pergola, and arbor built. They are about two thirds complete and I couldn't be happier. Dusty went through the ringer with me. He came out to my home a day or two after I initially contacted him. Within two days I had a quote in my hands. Then I made the mistake of contacting a couple of other contractors. I had never built a fence and had no idea what it should cost me. The next couple of contractors were unresponsive and basically lied to me about the permitting process (which I later found out after speaking with the city and hiring a permit lawyer to go through the details with me). The quotes the other contractors gave me were on par or slightly higher. After a month went by I reconnected with BC and asked them to build a fence for me. I was/am very particular about how I wanted everything to look. Dusty went through all of the images of fences, gates, arbors, and pergolas I sent him and helped me pick out designs I'm very happy with.

Dusty Brents was responsive to my inquiries about my fence restoration and offered and immediate quote. He kept appointments as agreed upon and showed up on time. To be frank, this has not always been my experience with home repairmen. He worked me into his schedule in a timely manner and stayed with the project until completed. There was a glitch resulting from the original installation of my fence. Dusty had the crew come back to yield a satisfactory, professional result. The new gates and attached fencing look great. I agree with other reviewers that I likely could have contracted for a cheaper restoration, but, in my experience, cheaper can sometimes be more costly or more unsatisfactory in the long run. I am satisfied with the restoration and would recommend BC Fence without hesitation. Should I need similar service in the future, I would not hesitate to contact this contractor.

B.C. Fencing wasn't the cheapest fencing company but we didn't want the cheapest. We learned that many things in life need to be paid for at the going rate for the appropriate expectations. We chose B.C. Fencing because of the Angie's list rating and from meeting the owner, Dusty, who was personable and flexible in what we wanted. I asked for a couple of considerations. I wanted one of the gates to be larger (by about a foot) than the previous gate, no problem. I also had an area of flowers/plants about 25' long along the fence. I asked if it was possible they could be as careful as they could. I was amazed that not a single plant appears to have been damaged. Very impressed by how careful the crew was. He said it would take two days to tear down and put up a new fence, it took 1 and 1/2 days so we were pleased. Crew arrived early on first day and did all of the tear down and 1/2 of the poles were in the ground by the end of the day. The crew was interactive with me and appropriately asked questions when something came up. They improvised some part of the construction when I indicated I wanted two adjoining fences to be angled rather than 90 degree turns and it looks GREAT! They cleaned up well, were mindful of anything left behind and all of the workers seemed nice and personable. It's been about a week now and the fence is solid, feels like it will hold up well. I am so glad I went with the metal poles, it is such a cleaner look. Also, the wooden poles we had before tended to warp over time. I also love my new (wider) gate. It allows me to move my bigger plants from the back yard to the garage for winter. The gates and associated hardware seem to really be well constructed and feels solid. I did have some cheaper bids but I'm telling you that on fencing you just need to pay the rate for someone who is rated as highly as Dusty's company is. It is worth peace of mind. FYI, I had about 93' of 8' fencing and 133' of 6' fencing for this project.
Description of Work: Tore down approx 230' of fencing (6' and 8' mixed), hauled away. Installed same amount of 6' and 8' fencing, two gates, all with metal poles and #2 cedar pickets.

Absolute joke of a company. Dusty came over to give me an estimate on some fencing for a gate and pool fencing. Did some quick measurements and told me he would have it to me Monday or Tuesday. Never received an estimate as promised. Sent an email through his website contact form Wednesday morning and never got a response. Finally had to call him Wednesday around 3pm and knew in my gut any that time you have to chase a contractor for business, it is not a smart move. But, I did it anyway and lo and behold the call did not go well. I told Dusty who I was and that he came over Saturday and was going to get me an estimate by Monday or Tuesday. He responded "well haven't got to that yet, I'll get it to you by tomorrow end of the day". So now Monday-Tuesday turned into Thursday end of day. I said what happened to Monday Tuesday and he said well if you're going to have an attitude find someone else, I don't need your business. Needless to say the call escalated from there. My recommendation don't waste your time with this guy, he is one of those guys who feels that just because he runs his own business he can tell off who he wants and doesn't value customers or keeping his word. I know because he told me so, "that's the luxury of running my own business I don't need a@@holes like you". Best of luck with Dusty, he's a real smart businessman.

Dusty was very responsive from the beginning of the project until the very end. When I called for a quote several other fence companies indicated they were too busy to get to me for a number of weeks. Dusty was able to come over the next day (in the rain!) to measure the job and sent me a quote via e-mail the following morning. The price Dusty quoted was consistent with 2 other quotes I received. When we were ready to move forward with the project, Dusty was flexible with our schedule and financing needs. The only hiccup was that the installation crew was a bit messy with the concrete from the posts and left clumps and smears of concret on the edge of my permeable pavement driveway. However, Dusty was, again, very responsive and had the crew go back to my house the following day (early on a Saturday morning) and clean up the concrete remnants; he even accompanied them to make sure it all got cleaned up satisfactorily.

It went better than we could have ever imagined. The last big wind storm blew down our fence and we called fencing companies all over Austin. They either did not return our calls or promised to come estimate and never showed up. One company was replacing fences in our subdivision, knocked on our door and promised to give us an estimate the next morning. Even they didn't bother to show up! We joined Angie's list specifically to find someone good. Boy did we we ever! Dusty returned our call within a couple of hours and made an appointment to come the next day. He arrived five minutes before the appointment time and gave us an estimate to repair the fence or to replace it. We decided to replace. His crew arrived the next afternoon (as promised and even a couple of hours early) and had our fence up within a matter of hours. They were efficient, removed all of the old fencing material and left everything spotless. The fence is built to last for years to come. It is straight as an arrow and totally sturdy. His company uses wider pickets than your average fence and put in metal posts instead of cedar which tends to rot and break. It looks spectacular. There has been several neighbors drop by to tell us our new fence is the best looking fence in the neighborhood and I guarantee that it is. Dusty is a super guy and knows his business inside and out. We could not recommend strongly enough that if you need your fence repaired or replaced this is the best company in Austin to use. Thank you B&C Fence and Construction and thank you Dusty.

Hired these guys to build a fence across my new back property line. The challenge was trying to manage this from out of state, but I thought Dusty understood what I was going for, but it was apparent that there was significant miss-communication. There was a garden/planter that the new property line cut through, and instead of removing the planter (as we had discussed) they merely built up and over the planter, so the planter now straddles two properties... it looks as ridiculous as it sounds. The other issue was there was a pile of dirt in the corner of the lot, and instead of removing the dirt, they merely built the fence up and over it... again completely ridiculous. I certainly take responsibility for the miss-communication on the scope of work, but how they could think that merely building the fence up and over whatever was in the path seems irresponsible, and they made no offer to fix the issues... good thing my dog wasn't taking a nap otherwise they may have just built the fence over him too... that said, the fence was straight and well constructed, I just made a big mistake trying to manage this from out of state and trusting them to do the right thing.

As others have mentioned in their reviews, Dusty was very responsive - he was able to come by within a few days; he stepped out to his truck for a few minutes & came back with his quote. We scheduled the work for the next week, and he promised the whole job would take no more than 2 days, total. I have a dog who loves her back yard, so speed was just as important to me as quality. The next week, we had a few days of rain, which delayed the completion of another job - something Dusty had warned me might happen. He was good about calling with updates & adjusting the schedule for my job. His crew started work mid-morning on Friday, and they were done by about 6: 130+ ft of old fence hauled out & replaced with steel posts & cedar pickets, plus a new gate. They even used some of the old pickets to rebuild a portion of my neighbor's fence that had completely fallen apart. One guy returned early Saturday morning to finish the cover-up job and to make sure everything was cleaned up. The crew was very professional - not a single piece of trash left behind. B.C. Fence used high-quality materials that I'm sure will last for many years to come - I've gotten several compliments from friends & neighbors :) I would happily recommend B.C. Fence to anyone in need of fence work. I'm very impressed with the quality of their work, as well as how I was treated as a client.
Description of Work: Replaced privacy fence, including setting new posts & building a partial retaining wall. Added pickets to a portion of another section of fence to conceal the posts.
