Mac was helpful and professional. My wife and I were pleased with the results. It took awhile, but not longer than was promised. I believe that he outsourced the upholstery to another shop. Refinishing is almost as expensive as buying new in a furniture store, but if you bought good furniture in the past, the new stuff is just not as good, too much particle board, and thin veneers. Refinishing was the way to go for us.

I contacted Mac via email. He took almost a week to respond but it was over Thanksgiving so I understood. He let me know it would be $100 to come and look what needed repair, only $50 could be applied to the job orI could send pictures and he would tell me if he could repair. I let him know I was in a hurry to get it fixed. I emailed photos three times, reminding him I wanted to make a quick decision. He never bothered to respond.

Mac used a "pin process" much like repairing a broken bone. The pin is very substantial and renders great strength to the piece of furniture.

It was went smoothly, and Mac is always so great to work with. Mac and an assistant came out on two visits to disassemble and then reassemble. Mac was very careful with the furniture and mindful of where it was placed, especially while it was being stored during the flooring replacement. Mac and his assistant did all the lifting and were very careful of not dinging walls, doorways, the furniture, or the flooring. Mac even loaned me some moving blankets to cushion the disassembled furniture. On the return visit, the flooring people were running late, so Mac moved his appointment back at the last minute to better accommodate me. I have used Mac's services before, and I can't recommend him more highly as in-home furniture repair.

As a part of the remodel of our guest bathroom, we needed the bathroom vanity countertop, which was made of a solid plank of Black Walnut that had been covered at some point with a thick, clear polymer coating that was now peeling and cracking and very distressed, to be completely refinished. Mac and Austin Mobile Furniture Repair came highly recommended to us by several friends and so we contacted Mac and he came out to our house to look at the countertop and provide us some options for refinishing the piece. Mac gave us extensive and detailed information regarding how the existing finish would be removed, the choices we should consider as far as the products that could be used to refinish the countertop, as well as the factors that come into play when considering using wood in any areas of high humidity such as a bathroom. He gave us his estimate, in terms of both cost and time-frame and, upon completion of the project, both were exactly in line with the final costs and timeline. The refinished and installed countertop itself was absolutely stunning and far better than we had ever imagined it would look.

This guy knows furniture repair, does it very well at my home, and did it quickly and with a great attitude. He said he would be here between 10:30 and 11 AM and he walked up to our door right at 10:30. I thought his price reasonable. He came with replacement parts cut to size and ready to go. I felt he was professional in every aspect. By the way, I had never met or used this man's service before.
