They cleaned up after themselves and the work was great. They also gave advice on the use of certain cleaning products for the flooring in our shower, which was much appreciated (did not sell us those; I bought on Amazon). The service, personnel and advice was excellent and we felt a very good deal for the benefit it provided.
Description of Work: We used a deal for grout cleaning and sealing, as we are in a newly-built home. They exchanged emails with us and called the number I had requested (husband's phone) after one re-direction. He oversaw the work and said that they were skilled, very polite, did a very thorough cleaning of the kitchen tile/grout before sealing it, and advised not to seal the walls of our shower, which we were prepared to pay extra for.

Called first, then sent an email to request service. Was contacted within 36 hours and set a date for service. Contractor arrived promptly, measured the floor area to be cleaned and got to work. My tile installation was only about 18-22 months old and had been sealed well upon installation, but the grout had become very dirty in places. Snyder's got it very clean. I've been in the building and trade industry for several years and am not easily impressed. I am very impressed with their service. My grout lines look almost new. Note: They are not miracle workers. If the tile installation was poor and not sealed well, almost nothing will completely clean heavily stained grout. Nonetheless, I was pleasantly surprised at the results. Would definitely recommend and use them again.
Purchased a Big Deal for cleaning & sealing of 200 sq ft of tile and grout. I knew there would be an additional charge, since I had a bit more than the 200 sq ft, but that was clear when I made the purchase. Snyder's was very quick with a response and was very cooperative to schedule the work around some other remolding work that were having done. On the scheduled day, they called prior to arriving and were right on time. The two technicians were very friendly and professional. They measured and offered an estimate to do the area over the 200 sq ft that was included in the Big Deal. I thought the extra was very reasonable and agreed to the work. They were fast and thorough. The end result was fantastic. The 18 year-old floor (which had never been professionally cleaned) looked brand new. It looked so good that I later contacted Snyder's again to do the tile in the entrance, hall and powder room. We had intended to replace that flooring as part of our other remolding, but since Snyder's made the other flooring look so good, we decided to keep the existing tile and simply have it cleaned. Saved a bunch of money. I would definitely use this company again (in fact I have) and recommend them to others.

When we purchased our home, we scheduled a carpet cleaning before we moved in. Snyder's Carpet Care had good reviews on Angie's List and had a reasonable special. They came out on a weekday afternoon and quickly got to work on our carpet. They did a thorough cleaning in each room and adjusted the price a bit since we had only three rooms to clean. From scheduling the service to the final appointment, they were courteous and professional throughout. Highly recommended!

I am sorry but that is not what happened You purchased your deal at 10:19 am on 10/23/14 and immediately sent a message all through Angie's list at the same time. I checked my msgs and called you that afternoon about 3pm or so same day to be nice and let you know we could not get it done in the time frame requested. I believe your review to be rude and unrealistic in timeframes. I was very responsive in letting you know ASAP. In fact what you don't know is I was trying to make it happen that is why I called in the afternoon. I contacted you on the same day with in a few hours of purchasing your deal. We are a service oriented business and try to help everyone the best we can.

Dear customer, I gave you the deal you paid for, the deal said anything over 250 sq ft is considered two areas. The areas you showed me were 5 areas. I decided to be nice and tell you I would go ahead and clean what you showed me for the price you already paid. In Turn you said ok well I want to add addititional areas so you added a hall and a bathroom and I told you $25 for the bathroom and $35 for the hall. You felt it was too much for those areas and decided not too. You were telling me that was more than another cleaner, well I simply told you that was our pricing and I do not know anything about another cleaners pricing. As a reminder the deal being purchased is valued at $220. I appreciate this feed back as I have realized some additional information I can include in my communications with customers. Our goal is to do the best job we can and help customers have a clean and healthy home. My wish for you is you find someone you will be happy with, happy hunting and have a blessed day. Christine

Showed prior to the appointment ready to go. Got right to work measuring and asked if I had other areas to clean. I mentioned the kitchen and they measured that and gave me a really great low price to do the kitchen as well. The work was professional, fast, and thorough. The floors look better than when we moved in. Most importantly, they asked if I wanted the grout sealer because it would have meant that my animals would not have access to the areas for 24 hours. I declined the sealer as that would have been impossible. Overall a great experience and will use them again in the future and highly recommend this company for anyone else. Bruce Stratton

It went great! Our den carpet was so stained (from teenagers camping out in there, eating, etc.) that I thought we'd have to replace the carpet. Snyder's was able to make it look almost new again, and 2 months later, it still looks great. None of the stains have "come back".

Wasn't the greatest contact to get this appointment scheduled. Their first available appointment was over 3 weeks from the time I contacted them. I guess because of the Angie's deal they were quite booked up. The day of the appointment they called me because of a cancellation, so they were able to come a few hours earlier, which was great! Based on the dry time, we were able to use the kitchen that night for dinner. The two people that came were nice and professional. And the floors looked pretty good when they were finished. She did have me verify the cleaning was good before sealing it. But there were still a few questionable spots on the grout that I thought could have been fixed. I would probably use them again, because we were mostly happy. But in terms of customer service in scheduling the appointment and communication, I was rather disappointed.

UPDATE:Snyder?s told me ?the Big Deal is only for ONE APPLICATION?. How can Angie?s List allow them to get away with this, when it is NOT stated in The Fine Print? Isn?t that the purpose of The Fine Print??? And, since the application instructions on the DuPont product that is used by Snyder?s states (as quoted to me by a rep of DuPont in his email to me dated August 22, 2014): after the first application ?. ?Liberally apply a second coat following steps 2 and 3?? My complaint is not about the product being a poor product. It is about incorrect, or insufficient applications (coats). Clearly, the statement about ?1 or 10 applications? is nonsense ? more applications would definitely be better, and certainly the manufacturer?s instructions (as I indicated in the paragraph above) should be followed. Here is what DuPont also wrote to me in the 8/22 email: ?A properly sealed surface shows NO IMMEDIATE DARKENING OF THE MATERIAL. If, after an application of sealer, the substrata continues to absorb and darken with water, ADDITIONAL COATS OF SEALER will be needed to achieve an effective, stain repellent seal. BEADING OR PUDDLING is a common reaction to water on a properly sealed surface. A well-sealed surface will not hold out water or oil forever, but should provide more than adequate protection for you to work on the surface or clean up a spill, without fear of staining.? The fact that Snyder?s does not get more complaints about their grout sealing (which, by the way, constitutes a very small percentage of the total number of jobs they perform and are rated on, on Angie?s List) is most likely due to the fact that not everybody does a spot test like I did. My additional comments to the above: 1) As stated previously, in most areas where I tested the grout ?sealed? by Snyder?s, it immediately darkened when I applied water to it. There was no ?beading or puddling? as indicated by DuPont if successfully sealed. 2) I believe that if I were to spill a dark-colored liquid on the grout ? like red wine, for instance ? it would sink into the grout and the grout would be stained. I do not believe that, even if I immediately or soon after mopped up the spill, a stain could be prevented. Manufacturer?s technical representative?s entire email to me dated August 22, 2014 (to which I made reference below), so here it is: Mignon S. ? 1. The varying porosity of masonry is what determines how much sealer is required to achieve a proper seal. We call out on the product instructions the need to test a surface for best results and coverage. Experience will allow a professional to forgo testing if similar surfaces are sealed frequently. Certain surfaces require more sealer than others. 2. A properly sealed surface shows no immediate darkening of the material. If, after an application of sealer, the substrate continues to absorb and darken with water additional coats of sealer will be needed to achieve an effective, stain repellent seal. Beading or puddling is a common reaction to water on a properly sealed surface. A well-sealed surface will not hold out water or oil forever but should provide more than adequate protection for you to work on the surface or clean up a spill, without fear of staining. 3. These are the basic application instructions for Grout Sealer: · Liberally apply using a paint pad, low-pressure chemical-resistant sprayer, narrow roller or natural hair paintbrush, focusing on the grout joints. · Allow sealer to completely penetrate into the grout, 5-15 minutes. · Liberally apply a second coat following steps 2 and 3. · Wipe up all sealer from the surface of the tile. Use a clean, dry, lint-free, cotton towel or mop to remove excess sealer. Regards,
Description of Work: Grout Cleaning & Sealing. Two people arrived (Christine and another, co-owners, I believe); they were punctual and pleasant. - We had moved all the furniture out of the rooms that were going to be done and also cleaned the floors prior to Snyders' arrival, as they had requested. - They then proceeded to wash down those same areas (the grout really needed no cleaning, as the tile/grout is quite new and still clean - even though the Big Deal price included grout cleaning), before applying the grout sealant. - Once the sealant had been applied, we had to stay out of those areas of the house as best we could, or step on the tile and avoid the wet grout, which we complied with. - When the job was completed, we left as they did, so that the grout could dry. - A few weeks later I performed a test by dropping water in several places where Snyders performed the work. In 90-95% of the places I tested the grout immediately darkened and the water was absorbed. Not my idea of 'sealed grout'. - I contacted Snyders by phone, expressing my concern and belief that the grout had not been sealed, based on the results of the testing I had performed. I explained that, in my opinion, if grout is sealed, liquid would 'bead' on its surface - the whole point of "grout sealing"! I also asked whether they had applied the sealant in accordance with the manufacturers' (DuPont) instructions (to which Christine replied 'yes'), and asked whether she would contact DuPont to explain the situation and get their input - I never got a resolution on this point. - On August 25, I followed up with Snyders by email, re-stating my position as per above, and asking for a re-do or a full refund. I informed them that I had contacted DuPont myself and attached a copy of their reply (August 22). Here is an excerpt of DuPont's reply: "A properly sealed surface shows no immediate darkening of the material. If, after an application of sealer, the substrate continues to absorb and darken with water additional coats of sealer will be needed to achieve an effective, stain repellent seal. Beading or puddling is a common reaction to water on a properly sealed surface." - These are the manufacturer's application instructions (back of the product) - from which it can be seen that Snyders did not follow DuPont's application instructions: - Liberally apply using a paint pad, low-pressure chemical-resistant sprayer, narrow roller or natural hair paintbrush, focusing on the grout joints; - Allow sealer to completely penetrate into the grout, 5-15 minutes; - Liberally apply a second coat following steps 2 and 3. - Snyders response (August 27) was that they did not agree with my idea of what 'sealed grout' meant; that even if the liquid darkened and sank into the grout it would not actually STAIN the grout. HUH? If it already sank into the grout?? Again, what is the point of GROUT SEALING???? What about THE MANUFACTURER'S opinion of 'sealed grout'?? Christine said they could do another application AT MY COST. - The last communication was my reply to Snyders on September 8, in which I mentioned that I had talked to friends of mine who had had grout sealing done and also professionals at places such as Home Depot (who all agreed with me - that liquid should 'bead' on properly sealed grout). I re-iterated to Christine the opinion of DuPont (as stated above) and sent her a copy of Snyders' "Big Deal" fine print, from which she could see for herself no mention was made about only one application of sealant. - I informed Snyders in this letter that I would be contacting the manufacturer again, asking them to take up the matter with Snyders - being that they are not properly representing their company's products; and that I would also be taking up the matter with Angie's List. As of today, September 30, I have had no further communication from Snyders..

We strive to give the best quality service in the industry. I am a professional and do the very best job I can at each and every home we enter. We provide the best quality products for the best results available to clean our customers floors. This particular situation, first I have spoken to Angie's list about what needs to be listed in the fine print and they are and have been satisfied with this deal, for 6 years I have been offering this particular deal and have had no issues. If you have any questions I am happy to help you decided if the deal is right for you and your home. The sealer we use is an A rated product and I have been working personally with the manufacture to make sure of this customers situation. I have also been testing the product myself and submitting My findings to the manufacture. Which are all the same weather one or 10 applications have been applied to the grout lines, they will look wet when water or liquid is spilled, or sprayed, until it dries. This does not mean the sealer is not working. We have been using this product for many years and have returned to several homes from Angie's list deals a year or so later and have had no issues with removing dirt from the floors upon cleaning. The sealer we use is a water based sealer. I did apply the sealer as instructed. I always apply a liberal amount of sealer. Since you posted on Angie's list I have halted all communication with you and the rest will be done through Angie's list documentation. I have tried to explain to you how this works but at some point I feel we are going to have to agree to disagree. I have been doing this for 13 years I make sure that the products we use are A rated so that we can provide a quality service to our clients. Thank you.

That service turned out very well. They did the carpet cleaning in 5 rooms. They did the cleaning for pet treatments and basic cleaning. Two employees came out and they were here for about an hour. The only issue I had was when they left a room and took the cleaner out, it dripped dirty water and left some spots. Later I had to clean that later myself.

Dear customer. My appologies in the delay in response but we have per Angie's list 48 hours to respond to any deal sold. I called you and your location is further north than some openings I have available. We can get booked out sometimes when a big deal is released but usually we book within a few days or up to 7-14 days out. This all depends on timing and if we just released a deal. I told your husband we could service your home within 15 business days but that is because of the amount of work to be done in your home and the aervice area to be serviced.
