+ 2 moreOverall, I was very highly pleased! They were a blessing from God! Once we had agreed on the work, they went to work with the insurance company and all I had to do was just sit back and reap the benefits! I have never met a plumber who got so excited about his work that his eyes lit up and the aspect of cutting a section of piping exactly and on the first try! That proved to me that I had the right company! The company never once treated my like a paycheck for them. They were genuinely interested in making sure that all of my concerns were met. Sherrie, the owner, even got her hands in the fray with the insurance company and made sure that they had detailed and complete job estimates so that they could see exactly what I was responsible for and for what the insurance company had to pay, then she made sure that what the insurance company had in their hands, I had in my email as well. When she wrote up the estimates, the insurance company was more willing to pick up charges. On the second drilling, however, she didn't write up the estimate and it was almost a disaster for my pocketbook, but after conferring with her about the write up, she quickly corrected the issue and re-wrote a new estimate for my insurance company to which they ended up sending me a supplemental check for excess charges. Now, all is right in the household...as soon as I get my foundation fixed! Thanks Dial One! They even took the time to send me a thank you card for my business! I'll definitely keep them around as I've picked up valuable information from them that I've never known!
Description of Work: It all started with cracks in my house's brick facade...one that went totally unnoticed until I was pulling into my driveway and was waiting for my electronic garage door to open. When I saw the close-to-3-ft-long crack going up my brick wall above my garage, I just stared all the while hoping my staring would make it somehow go away on its own. No luck. I let it sit for a few days then I woke up in a panic one morning and it hit me...I had a crack in my brick facade above my garage door and I didn't know what to do! This is why my left hand was itching something awful. I contacted a friend of mine who lives in Brownsville and who has a fairly vast amount of knowledge of things in this area. He told me that since the bricks are being broken and not just the mortar as most earth movements do, it is indicative of something stronger such as a water leak under your slab. Already I was not liking this conversation and again I wanted to go and hide. He suggested that I call a plumber and have them check the lines...so I did. After searching Angie's List, I came across Dial One Johnson Plumbing and have never looked back! At first James (who is the greatest plumber that I know) came out and examined my water lines which proved to be just fine! Whew! Thought I was done and just needed some foundation work...but then he said that we should check the sewer lines...dadgummit. I didn't like the sound of that. Thank God that I agreed to do that just for the peace of mind as that is where the leaks were coming from. I had two separate breaks in my sewage line. James was excellent in explaining to me the morbid details of the work that was needing to be done. He explained it so well that I felt like I could go out and help him fix the drain! Dial One gave me several options of attack and ultimately went in and drilled the first opening through one section of my garage floor and fixed it beautifully! It was when they where running their final tests when they realized that something wasn't right and ran more tests to find out that I had another break in a different area. A few more estimates and insurance wrangling dates later, I made arrangements and had them drill through another section in my garage to fix the second leak which was actually more closer to my being under my livingroom. The insurance company didn't want to pay for them to drill through the livingroom floor, so they went the garage estimate. The leak was fixed and this final test proved to be what solved the problem...no more water under my slab!

+ 0 moreThey did a great job!! The main water line to our home was leaking horribly. we had had water running down the drain for two days. James with Dial One came out to give us an estimate the same day i called. We agreed on a price. They have the prices for everything in a list, it wasnt like they had to make one up. i felt very good about what he was going today before he got started and he started to help us fix our problem right then. He found where the leak was and had to dig over two feet down to get to it. He repaired the leak that same day and came back the next day to fix a pipe that goes to the sprinkler system. What could have been a horrible experience turned out not to be so bad. James was polite, knowlegable and worked his "you know what" off. WE are also going to use them to replace a tolet and i will recommend them to everyone.
Description of Work: Find where the leak was and Repair our main plumbing line to our home. He also repaired a bad fitting going to the sprinker system that was leaking.

+ -1 moreWe awoke Saturday morning to no hot water. My spouse had to take a cold shower before leaving for work, that is how we knew. Not good when a man starts off his day with a cold shower. Went to Angie's List to find someone to come out and not only was my call answered by a real person, but I was scheduled for someone to come out today, a Saturday (Yeah!) Brad called me a few minutes later to confirm, that if it was convenient for me (WOW), he would be out here between 10 a.m. and noon. WOW! Brad was very polite and professional and explained in detail what he did to get the water heater working again (Sorry, it is all Greek to me). He was very nice and explained it in a way that I could understand and answered all of my questions regarding if we needed to have the water heater replaced....what we are looking at as far as prices...........water heater versus waterless tank etc To say the least, I was impressed! Not only do I now have hot water, but it was repaired on a Saturday just a couple of hours after reporting it. Will definitely use this company again! Not often these days that you find a company that is prompt, courteous, and professional! AND ON A SATURDAY! I must be living right! All I can say is "Thank you, thank you, thank you Johnson Plumbing Company!!!!

+ -1 moreEverybody was really nice. The tech that came out wasn't aware that I had a tank-less water-heater though which is strange because that was what the offer was for. But he knew immediately what he needed & offered to come out again on Monday. He did a short inspection & was also able to determine that a flush of my water heater may actually cause damage and actually recommended that I get a refund instead of pursuing the service. I was glad that he gave me that warning!

+ -1 moreHe cleaned out a clogged sink drain, pulled our commode and fixed the leak, tightened it down and had to snake it out from our roof since we had no cutouts. He attempted to unclog our tub but that's where he ran into trouble with the old hardware of the tub drain, with the screws breaking off. He explained it and the extra cost so I could make an informed decision so we left it alone, to try his suggestion of using Rudex at a later date. Great job from a youngster working on a house older than him!
Description of Work: We have a very old house with fragile and old plumbing so we were looking for things to go wrong but James pulled it off without any damage. He had a bit of a struggle and could not clean our tub drain due to the screws breaking off but he did the right thing with each problem that arose (AND he put up with all my teasing!). Over all we were surprised and grateful for all of his efforts to fix antiquated plumbing! Thank you, James!

+ -1 moreWhile having a new refrigerator installed, my water cutoff broke requiring me to cut off the main water supply to the house so that it could be repaired. I called Dial One and they sent someone out within an hour. They were very prompt in resonding. It was a simple job requiring the installation of a cheap needle valve on a 3/8" copper line. After looking at it they said it would be $225. It took about 10 minutes to install it. They did have to go the supply house and buy one. I feel like the price was about $100 more than it should have been.
Description of Work: Installed a cut off valve in my water line to the refrigerator.

They did not leave a mess or a pile of trash when they replaced the water heaters. The city had ruptured the sewer lines recently and they diagnosed that it was not my problem.
