The Handyman Karr

He is awful. First of all, he's a thief. He's a liar, he cheated. His work is so substandard. I'm having a handyman come in this evening to fix the mess that he caused. He put in a fence around our yard. He put in a vegetable garden. He started doing repairs in the house but I didn't like what he was doing so I stopped him. Then, he argued with me that it has to be done his way or no way. I reminded him that he was the vendor and I was the customer and I paid the bill. We got into a little tiff about that. It was really unprofessional. I think that he had probably been drinking before he showed up here. He'd show up when he felt like it. He'd now show up when he was supposed to. I gave him a gift card from Cabela's in place of some money for him to purchase some materials he was going to need at Home Depot. He said he would purchase these things and deliver them for a charge. I said, the delivery charge I really can not afford, would you be willing to take my Cabela's gift card in exchange for the delivery charge and he said yes. I gave him the card. Monday came and went and he never even went to Home Depot, never bought anything, never delivered anything. I asked for the card back and he hung up on me. He's really bad news and his work is awful. He was well overpaid. $500 was for the yard and I'm not quibbling over that although the gate has to be rehung, it has to be redone because it won't close. I can't clasp it, nothing will work on it. New posts have to be put in. A lot of fix up has to be done to his work. The vegetable garden I am really unhappy. That was another $500 and that was ridiculous. It should have been 2 days work and he charged me for almost 4 and I argued with him about that. I said, where do you come off 4, you were only here for 2 days and the other day you had an hour here and hour there, you had left you went shopping you left again. You didn't put in a days work. He got very angry and belligerent in my home. It scared me, I didn't know what he was going to do. He started shaking and yelling at me and crying. This is a grown man. I walked out of the room and let my husband deal with it, I couldn't deal with it. So my husband tried to calm him down, gave him his check and he left. We have tried to get our card back. He's just not responding. He is just hanging up and being very nasty to my husband when he calls and asks for it. He is extremely bad news. He was very pricy and he kept telling me how nobody does this kind of work and he deserves more. He walked in my house and he was critical of my home. My home is appraised at over $600,000, it is not a shack. There is a lot of quality in it and it is only 2 years old. He walked through each room criticizing it, this is not an expensive home, they did everything wrong. It was awful. The quality of his work was not good, not good at all. In the begining before he got paid, he was responsive. Towards the end he would never be reliable, he would come and go as he pleased, he's show up or he wouldn't show up at all and he would always have an excuse. He told me he would be here at 9 and he wouldn't be here until 11 or 11:30. He would do that all the time.
