SEI Roofing

Called SEI just after the March 3rd storm that took out some of my shingles. Called late in the evening and got a return call from Travis who said he could be out before 8a the next day. He showed up on time and gave me a very reasonable quote, great information, and a quick plan to remediate the damage. Couldn't be more pleased with SEI and Travis. Will definitely call them again in the future.

As far as we can tell it was all great. I'm confident their standards are really high and they were good at communicating.

In March of this year,I placed a review, after not being able to contact SEI, It was that review and only that review the reason SEI roofing contacted me. I placed a second review after speaking with the owner stating the issues were going to be addressed per the owner. Well only one issue was addressed, the siding was nailed back in, oh and he repaired a poorly done job by another company that I had to call because SEI failed to make this repair during restoration. I also showed him the shingles that were coming up. He said I have to contact the installer, its been over 3 months and nothing. Again being ignored, I'm going to have to call another company that knows how to repair roofs the right way.

Two time team visit was unexpected, but they were professional, give me good advice on how to upkeep the roof and did all the minor repairs as needed.

There's nothing worse than needing a new roof after a big storm but SEI made it super easy and did a phenomenal job. Chris, DeVonti and Eric were great and kept me well informed during the whole process. Chris is super personable and was very knowledgeable and was a great help as I have never had to make an insurance claim before but he helped me step by step with my claim through USAA. DeVonti scheduled the job and notified me immediately that there would be a delay because of storms slowing down a previous job, great communication. Eric and his crew were awesome. Always on time and eager to start the work, the crew was the definition of efficiency. I did not realize how bad my old roof looked until I compared it to the job they did. They left my yard cleaner than it was before the job, not a single loose nail or any debris anywhere!! I would recommend SEI to anyone I know who might need a roof. Very good company.

Though my initial experience wasn't great. Mark's (The owner) phone call today meant a lot because he didn't make any excuses and was ready to do right by me. Mark gave a lot of empathy for the service received and offered to come to my house and get on the roof to do a full inspection and report for free. He is a gentleman and even though my initial experience with his company wasn't the most pleasant, he did the right thing to fix it and I will recommend SEI to friends and even use their services in the future if a need a roof repair. SEI is fantastic. The gentleman who came out for the coupon inspection and minor repairs took pictures on his phone to show before and after shots of leaks that he repaired, then showed me pictures of problem areas not covered by the coupon purchase and gave recommendations on how they could be fixed. I asked for an emailed estimate and received it the next day--it was very reasonable and, after rain delays, we were able to schedule the repairs. More pictures taken of the repairs and it is perfect! He even cleaned the gutters for me! All four SEI folks I spoke with have been professional and very helpful, and I won't hesitate to call them again when I need to have inspections and repairs done, and particularly when the time rolls around to have our roof replaced.

We met with Travis and received an estimate of work quickly. SEI proved an estimate of all storm damage identified by our insurance carrier (roof, gutters, window screens & fence staining). The fence & roof work were completed 1st and the gutters and windows screens took at bit longer, but the tornado damage in East Dallas caused the delay. All the workers from SEI were polite and cleaned up any mess created during tear-out and repair. We are very happy with our new roof etc.

Excellent experience. I've never had a roof replaced but Steve walked me through everything and worked with my insurance adjuster to make sure everything was covered. The roofing crew did a great job and the roof was done in one day. They did a great job of cleaning everything up

When I purchased the Angie's Deal for roofing inspection, $100 credit towards repair, and minor resealing of flashings, pipes, etc. for SEI roofing in October, I was contacted within just a couple of days and had an appointment right away. They arrived right on time, I showed where we discovered a leak and he went up on the roof. After a short amount of time, he came back inside and asked me to come outside where he then showed me where the roof rot was and how it was starting to give with just a little bit of his weight. He told me that I should give my home warranty a call to see if they would cover it and that he would email me an estimate. I called the warranty company and they don't cover it (I didn't think they would since it's typically covers just appliances). I also called my insurance company and files a claim. The insurance didn't pay for it because they found a botched roof repair and deemed it as poor maintenance (we just bought the house 6 weeks earlier, stupid previous owner and home inspector). I then authorized them to start the work and I was given a date they would be out. During this time, I had a pest control company come in (for a suspected attic resident) and they found the flashing around the fireplace was open to the outside (something that should have been covered with the Angie's Deal). I contacted SEI and I was told that they would check the schedule and get back with me. That never happened. Once the repair was completed, they had brought in an outside contractor to repair the downspout near the repair. This downspout was completed incorrectly (they had it drain out onto the roof below and it was supposed to drain down into the landscaping below). I contact SEI and they said that they would have him come back out and repair. I was called a few hours later and they had scheduled him to come back out, but it was at the beginning of when I was supposed to be out of the country for Thanksgiving week. They said that I didn't have to be present because it was a repair to just the outside and that they would ask him to take a picture, he would send the picture to them and they would email it to me so that I could give the approval. That never happened. When I got home from my holiday, we ran into the holidays and I will freely admit that I simply forgot about SEI roofing. I didn't hear from them again about the outstanding bill for 2 months! I then get a call in January asking how I wanted to wrap up this invoice. I asked if they could email me the invoice so that I could discuss it with my husband that evening. We decided that we wanted to put it on our credit card. So, that evening, I replied to that email asking how this could be done. I never received a reply. Two weeks later, I received another call asking if I put a check in the mail. I told her that I was waiting for her to reply to my email about paying with Credit Card. She said I could, but there would be a 3% fee. Since this was now a new expense we weren't planning on, I told her that I had to discuss this with my husband again (3% on thousands of dollars isn't cheap!). We discussed it and decided the air miles were worth it. So, I called the next day (email obviously wasn't the route to take) and spoke to someone else who took my credit card information, but never charged me the 3%. So, now I am thinking if the last person was trying to swindle me for the 3%! A couple of hours later, I received a receipt via email and it had a customer satisfaction survey. I completed the survey outlining everything I am outlining here and within minutes of submitting, I received a phone call from the owner of SEI. He asked me to run through what happened and I told him everything. He was super apologetic and said that this was not the impression he wanted to leave with any SEI customer. He then asked me how he can make up for it. I told him that I wasn't looking for any refund (they did perform most of the services they promised afterall), but to make the promises whole. I wanted somebody to come out and seal up my fireplace flashing that should've have been done since day one. He told me that he would come out and complete it himself. He then asked if he could call me in the morning after checking his schedule and that he would try to squeeze me in the next afternoon. I told him that was fine. It's now a week later, he still hasn't called me. Overall, SEI roofing did perform 90% of the promised work and everyone I dealt with was friendly, As I told the owner, 1 mistake, no big deal. 2 mistakes, okay they are busy, I guess I could understand. But after 6 or 7 mistakes, there is a serious problem. My final thought on my experience with SEI roofing goes out to the owner. After spending a great conversation with a customer who was less that completely satisfied telling him that this isn't the customer service expected at SEI, don't drop the same ball with that customer the very next day. This review would've been much better with only outlining a few minor follow up misses instead, But because the final promise to make it right was broken, I have no choice but to tell everyone exactly how my experience went. ***UPDATE*** Mark, the owner contacted shortly after this review posted and again apologized for everything. Asked when a good time would be for him to personally come out to see me and we agreed on a time that day. He arrived precisely on time and again apologized for everything. He inspected the missed chimney flashing and did another inspection himself. He said that the flashing to require a fix, but went on up there and fixed it anyway so that we had no worries about it. He found a couple of areas that we should address soon, but figured out a way to put a quick band aid fix on it so that they would hold out a little bit longer until we could gather up the funds to fix it correctly. After all the little misses, Mark made up for it. He made sure that the image of SEI roofing is better than the treatment that I had received. When it's time for us to repair those few other issues, I would absolutely look towards SEI again. Thanks Mark for making it right!

Everything went as well as, or even better, than I had hoped. I now feel that my roof is not going to cause any issues for the foreseeable future. There is no putting a dollar value on that comfort level.

They were great at scheduling. Total time between insurance filling claim and new roof: 5 Days (3 Business Days). Time to install new roof: 1 Day. Service was excellent and professional. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Purchased a deal for roof inspection and labor. Company came out and looked over my roof. He found a few small issues with popped nails and a loose area around a pipe. He fixed these items and said the rest of the roof looked fine. Nice to know companies still do honest work.

They were prompt. Took 2 days to complete the job and it was not rushed. Replaced several pieces of decking that they had noticed potential water damage. Job was professional and they cleaned up all scraps and nails after they were done.

Mark from SEI called me and apologized for the lack of communication on his part and offered to complete the job. I agreed and everything went well. My compliments to the young man who performed the work.

From the time I called until they gave an estimate it was only a couple days. They came and completed the roof in less than a day and a half. Clean up was great. I worked with the owner, Mark. They did an excellent job. They were recommended by a neighbor who got them from Angie's List. Their price was several thousand less than 3 other roofing companies I contacted.

It went very well. They got here at 8 AM, worked hard in the frightful heat, cleaned up all but two roofing nails. They were finished at 7PM and all the litter was hauled off the next morning. Travis Houston was very nice to deal with and I'd have no problem recommending the company to others. Of course, at my age, I'm not able to climb onto the roof to examine it thoroughly, but they got the TV antenna back up in the right place.

Marc and the team at SEI were so helpful and efficient we couldn't have imagined it going any better! They were able to get my insurance to approve so much more than our agent told us about. They handled all of the insurance stuff and were done with all the work so quickly.

SEI Roofing Co. was excellent in all aspects of replacing our roof. The crew worked hard and effectively in the removal of our old shingles and then added the new ones in a timely manner. The job went well. We highly recommend SEI Roofing; this company did an excellent job on replacing our roof, gutters and also painted our fence. We are truly satisfied with the work performed. They handled the insurance claims, which was very convenient for us. Furthermore, the job was completed in a timely matter and there was no trash left behind. For future repairs we would use SEI again.

They were fine. I had the material and I could use that, so they didn’t charge me for the materials. They came on time and I would use them again. When I talked to their personnel at first, I was really leery and even when the workers came, at one point I felt a little uncomfortable about something that one of the workers said just because of the bad experience that I had with another company. I called the company back up and the guy made me feel comfortable because I didn’t pay anything upfront even the guy that did the work, I didn’t have to give him any money. After he got done, he sent me a bill after he made sure everything was fine and I just mailed the bill in. They were willing to say not to pay them anything right then and that made me feel comfortable and that made me feel like they were very professional. He just called me back to let me know that they received my check and sent me a little thank you email. In fact, I had a wood beam that I needed installed and he told me that if I didn’t find anybody to let him know, so he could help me out with that situation too.
