Raindango's subs and workers were friendly and very skilled. If we had questions, they were happy to answer or would find someone who could. Even better, their work is everything that we hoped it would be. We could not be happier with how the room looks!
I would recommend Raindango without reservation. We plan to use them for remodeling other rooms in our house very shortly.
We were very vervous at this point and a bit overwhelmed at all we had to pick out and purchase. The good folks at RaindangO were there to help and did not let us make mistakes - which we would have without them. The process, thanks to Cole and Alan was actually fun and easy.
Then the implementation started. We cannot be overly enthusiastic about the tear down. They were great and clean and careful.
During the construction phase, we have to particularly thank Todd and Magee and Luis. Very nice and capable and multi-tasking workers. And Alan and Cole orchestrated all of the sub-contractors with precision. I should add that the assistance of Cole and Alan did not stop early in the project. As we went along good ideas for changes came up and we implemented plenty of them. The end result - spectacular.
Anyway, the project started off with painting, with nail pops and other problems fixed first. That lasted a couple of days and at least two coats were used. I was actually surprised when they started the second coat as I thought it looked fine with just the initial coat. The crew had the exact color paint we had chosen and came with the necessary scaffolding. While painting was ongoing, they started taking up carpeting. Then they took off all the old ceramic (watch out for the dust...). They walled off the entryway with plastic to keep the dust from spreading everywhere Our new ceiling fan was replaced, and new light fixtures in the kitchen were then put in, and measurements were taken for the granite. Great job centering the lights over the kitchen island. Then the kitchen ceiling was patched up...it actually had holes from the initial install of box lighting that we were replacing but the guys just took care of that, too.
About this time, our old backsplash and countertops were removed. Then the floor was put in. This actually took about two days as our entire first floor minus the kitchen and baths, had hardwood and new molding put in. But they were careful moving furniture around and placing it back. Then the granite came in. One of our kitchen walls was not exactly straight so the install of one granite piece was a bit off initially; but this got fixed. I was concerned the new oven range would not fit in the space but they knew what they were doing when the installed the granite and everything fit fine; they even placed a granite bar behind the range (the new range does not have a back console like the old range did so otherwise a gap would be back there). Their tile guys set the new backsplash how we wanted and were even willing to pop out placed tiles and replace them with different decorative tiles on the fly, as we decided our initial idea needed a bit of changing.
During this project, it appeared that all work crews had specific tasks. One team painted, another laid floors, one removed countertops and installed backsplash; another crew installed granite, electricians installed lights/fans, etc. Going through a remodel wasn't easy but everything looks great now and we are very pleased. We simply had too many things to get done and it was much easier getting everything done with one company than trying to hire different people for each different thing.
We'd definitely use Raindango! again. But it'll be a while before we get around to remodeling our upstairs.
----------
After receiving several estimates, we selected Raindango for our kitchen remodel. Alan was our general contractor and our initial impression was positive of both him and the company. Overall, the quality of work and the value was good, but we did have some missteps along the way.
Alan did not communicate regularly and his lack of responsiveness and oversight forced us to be very involved with the project. On occasion, it was our direction and guidance to his team that kept the construction progressing. Ultimately, we were disappointed by Alan's professionalism and customer service.
Raindango offered little in terms of design services, so if you are unsure of your final layout, I would not recommend using them. If you have a clear design idea in mind and are willing to be heavily involved in the day-to-day progress of the project, Raindango may be an option for you.
I would recommend Raindango to anyone who wants custom furniture made and I will definitely call them again for any future job I have in my new home.
On our first project we found that there were many additional things we wanted them to do, beyond the work we initially scoped. I would initially ask fort a quote for the new work, then approve it, but I soon found that it was much easier to just ask them to do it, knowing their charge for the additional work would be reasonable and fair. The business ethics we saw and their focus on excellent craftsmanship rapidly became hallmarks of their work that are all too uncommon, though the norm for Raindango. This is both refreshing and, as a customer, greatly appreciated.
The last job we had them do was after the buyers of our house had a home inspection done. The 2" water test in the master shower failed, resulting in flooding to the ceiling below. We were certain the buyers would back out; I know I would have. We were 2000 miles away, having relocated to another area, with no visibility to the problem or the work done to fix it. I immediately contacted Mark and his team, and they were able to schedule us in right away. I believe that their intent on assisting us was genuine, greater than that of simply acquiring another job.
We needed a lot of work done to resolve this, including work on the shower, the tiling, the ceiling repair, as well as other work we wanted done that had been called out in the inspection. We couldn't see the work they were doing, and with full trust we simply asked them to make our troubles go away. But the buyers could see what they were doing, as they stopped by several times during the repairs. The feedback we got from our agent is that they were highly impressed with the work Raindango was doing, which was clearly instrumental in retaining their confidence and keeping the sale of the home on track. In fact they were so impressed that they said that they will use Raindango for the upgrades and remodeling they want done, as well as asked us for the contact information of the other vendors we used. On this last note, the buyers were not moving to a new area - they had lived as homeowners three or four miles away for many years - but the quality they saw in the Raindango team gave them confidence in Raindango as well as in our selection of vendors overall. I think this last note alone is a strong testament to the quality of the Raindango team.
I truly appreciate the work the Raindango! team has done for us, and I highly recommend them to anyone.
The installers were professional.
Most all communication was through the person who sold us the job.
Outstanding results!
My husband and I met several times with the owner/managers (Cole and others) of Raindango to go over prep for our job. They started on time and had the job completed earlier than I had anticipated and pretty much on budget. I've had A LOT of contractors doing remodeling at our home and Raindango's staff and subs are among the very best. Not only did our cabinetry/trim work turn out great but also the drywall and paint guys were the best I have seen in my 20+ years of being around the home construction business (my Dad used to build and sell homes).
I have given permission to Raindango to allow anyone with questions concerning a potential job to contact me, in case they want an unbiased opinion from a former, very satisfied customer. I invite you to give them at try or at least to get an estimate from them (and try and talk to me, if needed). We are thinking of adding a small bath in part of our attic later and will definitely consider Raindango highly for that job too.
I am a widow, retired, and could ill-afford to be ripped off, but felt confident throughout our contract negotiations. We started with a separate roofing contract as I had received partial insurance money. I have to say, the roofing crew did a wonderful job on July 3, 3012. Unbelievable Texas heat removing two layers of old shingles and replacing with higher quality thirty-year shingles. Roofing and cleanup were complete that day. I signed the contract for the remodeling to start on Tuesday after Labor Day (my choice of dates). On start up day, the house had been emptied of all furnishings and cats and dogs (which was a plus for them). I was continually impressed with the progress and the professional way the workers were scheduled so everybody knew what was happening and when. Cole was in touch every step of the way.
I picked out the appliances, flooring and fixtures I wanted but he made very helpful suggestions that were cost effective and at no time ever lost patience or threw me under the bus. The replacement windows make a dramatic difference in the appearance and energy efficiency of my home. All work was completed ahead of schedule (less than 30 days), and I have been back in my house for three weeks now. Everything is beautiful, fresh and feels like a brand new house. My friends are constantly stopping by see it (and me). I recommend Raindango to the most discerning of my friends. I started with Angie's List and the recommendation of a friend, and am ending with a new friend in Cole Lowry - a man of integrity, trustworthy, honest, and listens. His crews were always polite, hardworking and on time. His prompt response to phone calls and emails indicate that he pays attention to details and making his customers happy.
Once the scope of the work had been determined, the sheet rock crew came and repaired and replaced damaged wood and sheet rock. They also matched the existing texture on the wall perfectly, and painted the area with paint they had custom matched.
The following day, the trim crew came to replace the custom trim which had been damaged, and they were able to match it nearly perfectly. After replacing the trim, it was painted and the site cleaned thoroughly.
All of the working crew were clean and professional, and they did a great job of keeping the site clean and neat. You could probably find a cheaper contractor, but the prices were reasonable considering the quality of the work and their satisfaction guarantee. Highly recommended.
