This is the second time we have utilized Raindango. Our first experience in doing the master bath shower remodel was so impressive we immediately asked them to remodel our kitchen. We are now trying to find the resources for additional work that is needed. Workman were/are very skilled and professional. They were courteous, and engaging. I was consulted daily on starting and stopping times. They covered my floors from the front door to the work area, constructed dust and dirt curtains from floor to ceiling (and I have 12' ceilings) covered all furniture, bedding, lamps and wall treatments. At the end of each workday, they removed all dust/dirt curtains, floor and furnishing coverings, swept, hand mopped, and cleaned up outside as though they hadn't even been there all day. The co-owner of the company came by the work site EVERY DAY! to check progress, quality of work and asked if we had any issues as the work was progressing. Pricing for these two jobs was very competitive for the DFW area. The bottom line: This is an A+ remodeling company! I highly recommend them for any and all home remodeling. You WILL NOT be disappointed in this company!

We had a mold issue and had to hire a mold remediation company to come and remove all the mold affected areas in a contained space. Once they were done, we were left with tile, subfloor and a shower missing from the demo. Hired Raindango to come in and rebuild the subfloor, lay floor tile and completely rebuild us an amazing full tile/frameless glass shower. Tracy was our salesman/project manager. He was very hands on, friendly and knows his stuff. He was even kind enough to meet my wife and I at a tile company to help us select tile that would work well with our bathroom. As we make improvements to our house down the road, we will surely be in contact with Raindango to meet and exceed our needs! Thanks guys

Wow. They were great! I had them do some work in my bathroom 2 years ago. They did such a good job, they were the first ones I called for this job. They had to install a new entry door for me. There was no door there before, so they had to handle all the masonry and drywall work to punch the hole and install it. They were on time, professional, and wonderful to work with on this project. They finished on time and I am already asking for quotes for the next job! Please consider them for any major job you want done right!

They were on time and at budget. The cleanliness and follow up were beyond our expectation. Cole and Allan responded to all of our calls and have continued to do so long after the work was complete. We had some surprises from David Weekly, the original home builder, but they were able to correct the negligence of the home builder and provided us with a spa-like master that we have always dreamed of. We even asked for some modifications that were far outside the norm. I would not use any other general contractor for home improvement.
Description of Work: They remodeled our master bath. We have referred them to many of our friends and would not hesitate to do so. They could not have been more responsible.

BOTTOM LINE - BUYER BEWARE: I'm not trying to get your business, Raindango is. I have emails, texts and voicemails to back up my comments. They're comments are twisted falsehoods trying to rebut me so they will get your business. It's your choice as I have nothing to gain one way or another!!! Since posting my review, Cole from Raindango called me at least 4 times asking me to remove my review as it was hurting his calls from Angie's List. He stated that they use to get 5 to 6 calls a day and that since I posted my review they had completely stopped. I told him that I would modify it as I was statisfied with the overall job once completed but would not remove it, which I did below. However since then 2 subsequent responses have appeared praising and glorifying the job Raindango did and the communications they received from Cole and Alan, directly rebutting my comments. Right or wrong, I question the validity of these comments. All I can say is to use caution to anyone considering them and to stay on top of them constantly!!! I am willing to discuss my experience indepth with anyone considering Raindango and can be reached by email at TXBigDaddy56@gmail.com FINAL UPDATE: This has been difficult for me. Raindango did a bathroom remodeling for us in May 2013 timeframe. My first review was scathing for many valid reasons surrounding errors, communications and problems with the job they did. However as previously stated, even though we had issues with the job (some which can be normally expected) they were corrected and we are overall satisfied with the final job Raindango did for us. With that said, with the exception of one major screw-up, our displeasure was centered more around the poor communications, punctuality and responsiveness we received from our project manager, Alan. He was dismissive and condecsending. He would make comments like we just had to understand he had more important things to take care of when we would complain about scheduled workers not showing up for days and not being informed of the change. Consequently our job, which was originally scheduled to take 3 to 4 weeks took almost 2 months. Errors were made due to his poor communications to sub-contractors and then he would blame them for the mistake. He would make promises and then back track on them. His final comment to me rubbed me so wrong that I decided to write my review. Like many other negative comments by other members on here about Raindango once I posted my comments the owner (Cole) contacted me He admitted he had "dropped the ball" by not following-up sooner on my emails to him during the construction process with regards to my issues. He wanted to know what he could do to make it better. I informed him about my one remaining issue that finally prompted me to write my review. He arranged to have the problem resolved and it was. It is a shame got to this point because basically I am very happy with the quality of the remodeling work they performed. Yes there were problems with the remodeling but they did make them good and fix the problems. If you decide to use them my only recommendation would be to ask for a Project Manager other than Alan. That or make certain you stay on top of him, put what you want in writing so it's done how you want it so to eliminate errors and call Cole with unresolved issues rather then email him.

Response from Raindango Design and Remodeling
Dear Angie List Members, It is apparent by Mr. [removed member name]’s remarks that he does not like us as individuals but indicates he loves the remodeling work we did for his home. To further expound upon his resentment of us, he finds it necessary to broadcast his email address to continue his crusade to hurt us personally. It is confusing as we try to understand motivation to construct such a bitter review now since it has been more than ten months after completing a beautiful master bathroom remodel for a great price and staying in budget. We can only speculate his tirade may have been initiated by a slow draining shower. Once we spoke with Mr. [removed member name] he was cordial about his concern and we immediately dispatched one of our master plumbers to investigate the issue. It was quickly determined it was excessive hair build-up left unattended in the shower drain. They easily scooped out the sludge and drained properly once again as designed. We would like to clarify a few of Mr. [removed member name]’s misleading statements. The only times we called Mr. [removed member name] recently was to seek insight for his harsh review, schedule a plumbing service call and to follow up with the service. Secondly, we receive many calls from the Angie’s List community even after his review; in fact call counts have increased! Angie’s List members are astute in selecting qualified services for their home remodeling needs. They “read through” unfounded rants such as his. We applaud those who investigate us and know we are an Angie’s List Super Service Award recipient based on superior customer service amongst other top service awards. It is unfortunate he defames us personally but more disturbing is he questions the validity of our Angie’s List customer’s favorable ratings and reviews of our work. We can assure Mr. [removed member name] that we do not assist with our customer’s comments or their ratings, as that is unethical and surely a violation with Angie’s List governance policy. Raindango works very hard completing projects to our customers’ satisfaction. The majority of the reviews in Angie’s List reflect that sentiment and unlike Mr. [removed member name], they appreciate a beautiful bathroom even though the journey may sometimes get bumpy. Raindango always strives to mitigate those “bumps” as best as possible. In conclusion we understand the importance of being prudent in selecting a remodeling firm to handle your remodeling needs. We never lose sight that we are working for you and that we are remodeling your home. We ask you to do your due diligence selecting a competent remodeler and to see if we are a good fit for your project. Check us out on raindango.com or make a request to personally meet Cole and/ or Alan and truly see we are a team of professionals that builds great products. It is just unfortunate that Mr. [removed member name] is not included in the long list of very satisfied customers. Sincerely, Mark Lowry, Partner

A few days after I got the estimate, I got a call from one of the men and he said the owner needed to come out and look at the job. The two of them came back a couple of days later on a Friday. The owner looked around and said he would send me a new estimate. He wrote down my contact information and said he would contact me on Monday. When I tried to get in touch with the original two guys that gave me the estimate, they no longer worked there. Apparently, the first two salesmen left the company and told Raindango they would be doing the work on my kitchen in the capacity of their new business so Raindango didn't think they needed to follow up with me.
Description of Work: I needed some work done in my kitchen. I called for an estimate. Two guys came out and looked at the job and sent me an itemized estimate.

The crews were on time and we knew who to expect and how long the project would take. Each crew did a great job of clean up and explaining what was done and what was left to do. We appreciated the frequent visits of the contractors. This is the second time we used this company and will use them again if we want more renovation.

Raindango was fantastic! From the first meeting to final walkthrough, I found their service to be as professional as one could hope. Raindango did a complete remodel of an older bathroom that had a history of plumbing leaks. This included tile work, drywall repair, plumbing work, installing a new quartz countertop and sinks, painting, installing a new window, putting in a new bath fan and refinishing an old, but still useful, cast-iron bathtub. Raindango's subs and workers were friendly and very skilled. If we had questions, they were happy to answer or would find someone who could. Even better, their work is everything that we hoped it would be. We could not be happier with how the room looks! I would recommend Raindango without reservation. We plan to use them for remodeling other rooms in our house very shortly.

Update - The owner called and was very nice and explained he was dealing with the situation on his end and would like very much to make up for the experience.
Description of Work: We had an estimator Mike Mitchell come out to perform an estimate. He was professional and thorough at first, but when the estimate came in it was way over the expected range of our budget. When I asked about adjusting the scope of the work to fit our budget, he was very short and rude with me. He told me "We have so many jobs right now, we really can't afford to pull them off for anything less" This was after I spoke with someone at the front office who told me they have too many crews with too little work and they can usually start and finish most jobs very quickly.

Overall I was pleased and recommend them. The job took longer than they quoted, they said 30 days & it was closer to 90. That was not a big deal to me but if you have a short timeline stay on them & visit the project every chance you have if not in your home to make sure it is on track & the subs have followed the instructions. They work hard to stay on top of the details but there are always things that fall in the crack. One issue with the color of the tub installed not working with the color pallet in the bathroom but after discussing they had it painted to the correct white. They were not the least expensive I bid on the project & I used my floor guy to replace the hardwood for half of their quote. I am different than a lot of clients in that I have a design/build background & had pretty firm thoughts so didn't need much direction from them but if you are not included that way they are able to show you options.
Description of Work: Our project was rebuild after mold was removed. The kitchen was gutted as well as the bathroom. Both rooms were rebuilt using our existing appliances, this is a rent duplex. I picked the materials and did the layout/design. I moved the stack washer/dryer across the hall to free up space in the bathroom.

Mike Mitchell came to our home two hours before the appointment time; I wasn't ready but still let him in. When I was explaining him what we needed, he wasn't open to new ideas, he wanted to do a job that does not get out of the box or what "he has been doing for years". Finally he left and told me he will send me an estimate via email. A week later I sent him a reminder about my estimate for both bathrooms and he said he was so busy with other projects but that he will work on it and send it the week after....that makes me think he hasn't even started. Three weeks later I sent him another email, just for curiosity because I wasn't going to choose him base on his responses, and he sent me the following note "Right now we are so slammed with larger projects I probably would not be able to do it" WOW what a guy! I have no idea if the job they do is good or not, but I'm wondering how responsibles they are if they can't even send a note to apologize or decline the job until I sent three notes....why did they come to check out the job in the first place if they were so busy?
Description of Work: The job we requested for both bathrooms was to install tile on the floor, change the vanity, mirror and light and paint the room; plus to install/create a niche on the wall in one of the bathrooms instead of traditional shelves.

We chose three bidders. RaindangO won the bid and we are glad they did. Why did they win? It was mostly due to Mike M, the sales person, being so detailed. His proposal to us was so detailed he proved that RaindangO listned to what we wanted and proposed what we needed. We were very vervous at this point and a bit overwhelmed at all we had to pick out and purchase. The good folks at RaindangO were there to help and did not let us make mistakes - which we would have without them. The process, thanks to Cole and Alan was actually fun and easy. Then the implementation started. We cannot be overly enthusiastic about the tear down. They were great and clean and careful. During the construction phase, we have to particularly thank Todd and Magee and Luis. Very nice and capable and multi-tasking workers. And Alan and Cole orchestrated all of the sub-contractors with precision. I should add that the assistance of Cole and Alan did not stop early in the project. As we went along good ideas for changes came up and we implemented plenty of them. The end result - spectacular.

Overall, we were very pleased with Raindango! Our entire projected lasted about 10 days (not counting one weekend). First, we were thinking of only installing hardwood floors, but then we decided to paint and add other things as well. Mike Mitchell was very good at adjusting our estimates based on our changing requirements and we were very pleased about how there were no surprise costs. He was pretty clear about how much money would be needed up front and how much could get financed, and when the job could start. He was pretty patient about our indecision concerning what paint colors we wanted and what type floor we wanted. I think he brought floor samples to us at least three times; he also referred us to the supply company they use where there were more floor samples. He'd also come out and measure every time we had a new idea (such as, let's also get granite). We also got to go and choose our own granite slabs and the sink we wanted. Then we bought the faucet fixture and disposal we wanted them to install. Anyway, the project started off with painting, with nail pops and other problems fixed first. That lasted a couple of days and at least two coats were used. I was actually surprised when they started the second coat as I thought it looked fine with just the initial coat. The crew had the exact color paint we had chosen and came with the necessary scaffolding. While painting was ongoing, they started taking up carpeting. Then they took off all the old ceramic (watch out for the dust...). They walled off the entryway with plastic to keep the dust from spreading everywhere Our new ceiling fan was replaced, and new light fixtures in the kitchen were then put in, and measurements were taken for the granite. Great job centering the lights over the kitchen island. Then the kitchen ceiling was patched up...it actually had holes from the initial install of box lighting that we were replacing but the guys just took care of that, too. About this time, our old backsplash and countertops were removed. Then the floor was put in. This actually took about two days as our entire first floor minus the kitchen and baths, had hardwood and new molding put in. But they were careful moving furniture around and placing it back. Then the granite came in. One of our kitchen walls was not exactly straight so the install of one granite piece was a bit off initially; but this got fixed. I was concerned the new oven range would not fit in the space but they knew what they were doing when the installed the granite and everything fit fine; they even placed a granite bar behind the range (the new range does not have a back console like the old range did so otherwise a gap would be back there). Their tile guys set the new backsplash how we wanted and were even willing to pop out placed tiles and replace them with different decorative tiles on the fly, as we decided our initial idea needed a bit of changing. During this project, it appeared that all work crews had specific tasks. One team painted, another laid floors, one removed countertops and installed backsplash; another crew installed granite, electricians installed lights/fans, etc. Going through a remodel wasn't easy but everything looks great now and we are very pleased. We simply had too many things to get done and it was much easier getting everything done with one company than trying to hire different people for each different thing. We'd definitely use Raindango! again. But it'll be a while before we get around to remodeling our upstairs.
Description of Work: Painting of walls and 18 foot ceilings, installation of 1200 sq/ft of hardwood floors (with removal of carpet and 132 sq/ft of ceramic tile), installation of ~75 sq/ft of granite countertops and ~33 sq/ft of backsplash, installation of new 52" ceiling fan in living area on 18 ft ceiling and installation of new kitchen fixture.

After posting my original review, I was contacted by Raindango's owner about my experience. I've since hired them to do additional work at my home and have been satisfied with their level of professionalism and quality of work. ---------- After receiving several estimates, we selected Raindango for our kitchen remodel. Alan was our general contractor and our initial impression was positive of both him and the company. Overall, the quality of work and the value was good, but we did have some missteps along the way. Alan did not communicate regularly and his lack of responsiveness and oversight forced us to be very involved with the project. On occasion, it was our direction and guidance to his team that kept the construction progressing. Ultimately, we were disappointed by Alan's professionalism and customer service. Raindango offered little in terms of design services, so if you are unsure of your final layout, I would not recommend using them. If you have a clear design idea in mind and are willing to be heavily involved in the day-to-day progress of the project, Raindango may be an option for you.

He called me soon after I bought the Deal and explained that I was outside his service area. He was very apologetic and encouraged us to get a refund, which we did. I wish we could hire him, he seemed lovely on the phone.
Description of Work: I bought a Big Deal for $1,499 for a General Contractor for a Week.

From start to finish, this job was handled in a professional and prompt manner. My first encounter with Mike Mitchell for the estimate was efficient and from that point, all the work was done to my specifications. The cabinet builder was helpful in making suggestions for the type of wood to use and bringing my vision to life! They were also very accommodating when I wasn't happy with one of the doors on the hutch and it was replaced - no questions asked. I would recommend Raindango to anyone who wants custom furniture made and I will definitely call them again for any future job I have in my new home.
Description of Work: Custom office furniture built and installed, including desk, credenza, hutch and file cabinet as well as cabinets built and installed in media room.

Don't purchase this - I wouldn't recommend purchasing any of the remodeling hours unless you have met w/the company directly and know that the purchase price and time will be sufficient to get things done that you'd like. Angie's List should do better job of vetting these prior to selling the promotional opportunity, AL also needs to update this evaluation page. If I state I did not have the work done, why am I required to fill in grades, date of service, if I would use them again and every single question on this form? AL also knows they refunded the $ to me so quit asking me to assess the service!
Description of Work: I purchased the "special" that Angie's List promoted but after reading the other experiences (and reading more online) it was very clear that this company and this offer were not as "special" as they may have appeared to be. I had been quite excited to get lots of work done, but ended up getting a refund due to the excessive negative comments on this offer.

I rarely write reviews, but then again I'm rarely as impressed as I have been with the Raindango! team. We've used them on several occasions, for both small and larger projects, and their work is consistently excellent and priced well. On our first project we found that there were many additional things we wanted them to do, beyond the work we initially scoped. I would initially ask fort a quote for the new work, then approve it, but I soon found that it was much easier to just ask them to do it, knowing their charge for the additional work would be reasonable and fair. The business ethics we saw and their focus on excellent craftsmanship rapidly became hallmarks of their work that are all too uncommon, though the norm for Raindango. This is both refreshing and, as a customer, greatly appreciated. The last job we had them do was after the buyers of our house had a home inspection done. The 2" water test in the master shower failed, resulting in flooding to the ceiling below. We were certain the buyers would back out; I know I would have. We were 2000 miles away, having relocated to another area, with no visibility to the problem or the work done to fix it. I immediately contacted Mark and his team, and they were able to schedule us in right away. I believe that their intent on assisting us was genuine, greater than that of simply acquiring another job. We needed a lot of work done to resolve this, including work on the shower, the tiling, the ceiling repair, as well as other work we wanted done that had been called out in the inspection. We couldn't see the work they were doing, and with full trust we simply asked them to make our troubles go away. But the buyers could see what they were doing, as they stopped by several times during the repairs. The feedback we got from our agent is that they were highly impressed with the work Raindango was doing, which was clearly instrumental in retaining their confidence and keeping the sale of the home on track. In fact they were so impressed that they said that they will use Raindango for the upgrades and remodeling they want done, as well as asked us for the contact information of the other vendors we used. On this last note, the buyers were not moving to a new area - they had lived as homeowners three or four miles away for many years - but the quality they saw in the Raindango team gave them confidence in Raindango as well as in our selection of vendors overall. I think this last note alone is a strong testament to the quality of the Raindango team. I truly appreciate the work the Raindango! team has done for us, and I highly recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: We've used them on multiple occasions, with work that included 14' exterior pillar replacement, roof line repairs, shower pan repairs, tiling, ceiling repairs, siding replacement, cosmetic updates, general construction work.
