I bought an Angies List deal.  Get 40 hours of labor for half of what it normally costs.  Sounded good.  Bought it knowing I had a tight budget and could get more bang for my buck this way.  I was contacted shortly thereafter and when talking to the gentleman on the phone I said I didn't know how much I could get done for 40 hours and his reply was "not much".  We met and I showed him the two rooms that the floors needed replacing and a very small bathroom.  He immediately started up selling me and told me that these "Angies List" deals had inftaled hourly rates to help pay Angies List.  He says he can do the kitchen and utility room for antoher $2,000.  Then he started playing with numbers etc. (like a used car salesman) and says he can do both rooms and the bathroom for an additonal $1,200.  I then told him no and started to want to see if I could get out of this "deal".  He then said he would do me a favor by doing both kitchen and utilty room for the Angies List price plus he would now charge me a fee for moving the appliances and would grout a little area in the bathroom.  He said he would have two crews out and it would be done in a day and a half.  Only 2 men came and it was done in 28 hours shorting me at least 10 hours.  They put the debris on in garbage bags which I had to provide, and put them on the lawn.  I had to move them off the lawn so it wouldn't kill the grass.  They never picked the bags up until I e-mailed the company to have them removed.  The men never came back when they said they were going to, they just showed up.  They did replace the floors, but when done, they put the appliances back with out hooking them back up.  I e-mailed my contact man and he never has responded back.  I since then have had to pay someone else to hook it up for me.  They left saw dust all over the counters and sink and never cleaned up.  They even left old quarter round that they had pulled up on my counter top.  It was a lousy experience.  Don't buy these "Angies List" deals unless you are welling to get ripped off.  You are at their mercy to be honest about how much time it will take and what they charge.  I could have gotten the same job done for 1/2 as much had I used a contractor from the Better Business Bureau.  I thought Angie's List was such a great deal, well buyer beware!!!!!!!

"I talked to the member to truly see where the communications failed. I willing to refund the project amount or provide her additional services at no cost. I was willing to go out of our way to assist her with the complaint. I hate to see complaints not resolved because a customer will not return calls or assist with a resolution. Mark Lowry, Partner"

Friendly, knowledgable estimator.  Price was very competitive and we liked that we had one project manager who we worked with.  Not all companies we bid with had that.
It took a bit longer to get started than we anticipated.  First the new cabinets had to be built and installed so that then the granite counter tops  could be measured.  The Granite fabricator was a bit behind but once the job started, it was finished in 6 days.  We were only unable to use the kitchen for a couple of days.
Good communication when trades would be there.  Responsive to finishing up punch list items.   All trades people used were very professional and friendly.  They came when scheduled.

Haley had a couple of calls from my adjuster so he was aware that I was still waiting for the bulk of the money to do the flooring (laminate through out the house, as well as the kitchen (I contacted them through Angie's List on their $4800 coupon deal which was being used for the kitchen).  After I paid them, they have not been back out.  Haley knew I did not have the money for the other areas yet, so he moved on to other jobs, which would have been ok if they would have finished the bathroom where they started which I did have money for.  I have called both him and his worker and my calls and texts were ignored.  My mother (helping me through all of this) actually caught Haley on the phone one time because the adjuster wanted to speak to him, and she told him that they needed to come back out and finish what they started in the bathroom.  He agreed but we never heard from him again. He tried to start problems with the insurance company (knowing that I was already having problems getting the adjuster to pay the amount that Haley said he had already approved) by whining to my insurance adjuster that I was trying to go behind his back with his worker to get a cheaper deal, which is false.  In reality, surprisingly his worker approached me, I am guessing maybe he knew something that I did not .... that I was going to be abandoned on the job since I did not have the money or the money yet from the insurance claim?  I told his worker that I had an agreement through the coupon with Angie's List and that he would have to beat all these prices significantly for me to start over per say dealing with someone else.  Nothing ever developed from this communication with the company's team.  In fact, I have not spoken to anyone since April 27, 2012.  Finally Haley replied via text stating that he was told that I went with his worker and that is why I paid his worker directly - these are lies, I have text messages to back me up where he told me what to pay and whom to pay...I even double checked and asked if he was sure he wanted me to give him the money as I did not know how they worked out Haley's cut.  So now I am left with not only a house to remodel, but a partially started bathroom.  Raindango has abandoned the job with no further comment period. I am shocked, and while I put so much work into making this project work with them, I do not think it would be wise for me to do business with them now.  Haley had me pay his men $1236 for work done on the cabinets, the baseboards (install and paint) and the installation of a tile floor.  The bathroom is still in the shape they left it in (torn out).  The work that is incomplete (only meaning the work that they started - not the bid on the work in most of the house that we were supposed to have done) is the tile floor which is tiled but not grouted.  The baseboards were purchased but never installed nor painted..  I tried to return them only to find out that they cut them and I can not return them. The cabinets were done. All I know to do now is to ask for a refund since they are not returning to perform ANY WORK.  I do not think this is unreasonable.  I expect a refund of $550 for not grouting the tile floor, for removal, installation, alteration and painting of the baseboards and casings for which they were paid for on April 27, 2012. Disappointment does not begin to describe what I think about this company and its representatives.  I can only hope that they will have the honor and integrity in their response to this complaint since this was not shown in their actions which they purport to hold by the listing as a reputable contractor on Angie's List.  Should any proof of my statements need to be provided, please let me know as I have documentation on everything stated herein.

Purchased a Deal from Angie's List for a bathroom remodel offered by HD Remodel. Contacted Haley, the owner of the company, soon after the Deal purchase. We scheduled an appointment at our residence. Haley arrived on time, completed measurements and discussed our options and plans. After a week or so, due to our decision process, we selected a vanity, granite vanity top, tile, faucets and light fixture. Choices were based on suppliers that Haley uses and based on our Angie's Deal choices. Haley ordered all the materials and scheduled the work once all materials had arrived at his location. All work was completed in approx. 8 days. We are very pleased with the new bathroom and would not hesitate to use HD Remodeling again. We noticed a small leak under the vanity several weeks after the work was completed, contacted Haley and he had a plumber onsite the next day to correct the issue. Overall it was a good experience and again we are very pleased with the way the remodel turned out.

Overall, the experience has been excellent. They have all the credentials that any company needs. When we got estimates from other roofing companies, not one other company that we talked to had all of the credentials. They do not over charge! Our neighbors had their entire home re-gutted and remodeled by them, and it’s so beautiful. The technicians have been professional, are honest, and they’ve been great to work with. I’ve worked with them for 5 years and they’ve always done a great job. I referred them to others, and everyone has been pleased!

First off,  I really love our new custom bath cabinets.  They used all the good hardware such as smooth, soft closing drawers and doors.  Also the custom stain and finish was a plus.  Also, our the new glass shower feels so luxurious.

They had demo the old crummy bathroom, everything except for the roman tub.  first they built the framework for the shower and tub skirt.  Then they installed the cement backboards and plumbing assembly.  Then they started to install the shower tile, but they didn't do the pattern we wanted.  Alan/Cole was notified and they quickly replaced all the tile to our satisfaction.  They continued the pattern all the way to the floor seamlessly.  Next they started to patch the wall, re-texture, and painted it and the crown molding.  Then they came in with vanity and medicine cabinets, but they forgot to build the toilet room cabinet.  After that they installed the granite and vanity fixtures.  The granite people that they are contracted with couldn't come in for a few days, so it delayed it further.  After that they installed the bathroom accessories, toilet room cabinet and patch up any chips of paint.  Any remaining clean up duties were performed.

Do's and don'ts

We had a mix-up with the tile design so I would clearly draw out or describe you design concept to them initially and throughout the project. (tile design, decorative tile design, paint color and finish, crown paint color and finish, accessories placement.  Inspect their work daily to see if it is to your satisfaction because they will fix anything you don't like.

The sales representative visited in person and was very helpful in working within my budget and gave estimates in a helpful way that allowed us to pick and choose exactly what work items we wanted to purchase. It was in no way a high pressure sales experience and was exactly how I like to do business. When we decided to go ahead with work we met with sales representative at a local tire warehouse at a time suitable for us and we picked out our tile selections.
The work started on time and finished on time and the workmen were very quiet, respectful and tidied up every day. I would advise being on site while the work is done as we had minor mix up over which tile went where in the bathroom. Once spotted it was rectified with no fuss.we supplied our own shower and faucet fixtures to keep costs down and they were happy to do this.
We paid a third up front on signing and the rest only when we wrote to the sales rep confirming the job was completed. They were very careful to ensure we were happy with the results before charging my card for the balance. There were no hidden extra costs and the amount was what we had agreed up front.
You probably could get a cheaper job done but I doubt it would be done as well and in such an efficient and high quality manner as these guys did it. Will definitely use them again.

All my friends prepared me for a grueling, uncomfortable renovation, but the Raindango team made it as close to a pleasant experience as possible.  First, when I began the  bidding process Cole and Mike showed up, looking very professional.  We went through the house and Mike took detailed notes on the work I wanted done.  Within a week, I got a quote complete with all work  discussed and guarantees.  After getting other bids, this was the first with such specifics.  After I called and told them I wanted them to do the job, they made an appointment bringing along my project manager, Alan.  We all walked through the house with Alan taking notes and leaving tape with directions for the crew as well as telling me what I might want to pack up and what could be left as is.  They arrived at the preset time, on time, and the crew hung plastic around room/rooms to be worked on.  Each day, there was a clean up, so that we were not walking through dirt.  We even were able to sleep in our bedroom every night of the renovation without a problem.  When I didn't like the way the grout came out by the replaced door, or had another concern,  I just told either Alan or Cole, and it was corrected.  They encouraged me to make a punch list of anything i wasn't happy with, and, believe me, it was attended to.  Another thing I liked was that anything I would tell one of the guys about was well known by all; they communicate on a daily basis, and the "right hand" always knows what the "left hand is doing."  The crew all understood English, and it was clear they had pride in their work and a good relationship with Alan, but Alan was demanding that they do their jobs well, and would keep close tabs on everything from things done correctly to clean up addressed.  Am I pleased with the results?  I feel as if I'm living in the home I've dreamed of!  The kitchen cabinet glazing is downright awesome and the updates outstanding.  My master bathroom is one of the lovliest I've ever seen.  When I didn't have an opinion, Alan would ask me some questions, give me some choices, and he hit my preferences right on the head!  The whole group was so comfortable and attentive to work with; their main objective was giving us the renovation we wanted, and they exceeded our expectations in every area.

I purchased a big deal consisting of a complete remodel of an 8' x 5' bathroom, normally priced at $9700, for just $4800. However, I wanted a number of upgrades: custom shower door, wider vanity, dual flush toilet, widen the doorway to 30 inches, install a combination exhaust fan and heater. Haley gave me an estimate that came to $1500 for the add-ons. Still a tremendous bargain, I thought. To my surprise, when he brought the contract over for me to sign, it specified that they would start on 12/19/2011 and finish on 12/29/2011, and that for every day they missed the deadline, they would knock $150 off the price. It took them two days longer than expected, and so he brought the price down $300. There were still a few punch list items to be taken care of, but my bathroom was completely usable.

Everything is absolutely beautiful. The workmanship was superb, especially the painter. Anything that wasn't done to my satisfaction, I just had to say what I wanted redone, and they were on it right away. Even in the beginning when everything was being gutted, they took care to minimize the dust and commotion. Every evening they completely cleaned up and hauled away anything that needed to be removed. I was allowed to pick out the tile I wanted for the shower and the floor, the color of stain for the vanity, wall paint, everything. Haley told me where to go to pick things out, and then he went to purchase it. He was even willing to store my things from August when I purchased the Big Deal until December when I wanted to have the work done.

I have exactly the bathroom I imagined!  Thanks, HD Remodeling!

We hired them and fired them the same day.  They were very careless with their employees safety.  They damaged our gutters when they were power washing the house.  They were not professional.  My husband even talked to the boss and he didn't understand my husband's worry about their employees.  So, my husband said that was it and they are done.  They returned a portion of the money back to us.  They did start the power washing, although that wasn't done very well (we had to get it redone).

They came out to paint and they put their ladders up against our gutters and it was bending the gutters.  The guys were also leaning way over to reach areas and nobody was holding the ladders.  The boss was too far away to catch them if a ladder let go and they fell.  So, my husband went out and spoke to the supervisor about those things.  The supervisor did not understand why he was worried about it.  He said they do it all the time.  But, my husband said not here because we didn't want to have anybody hurt.  This went on for about an hour.  He called the owner and the owner still didn't understand.  So, we asked them to leave since they couldn't do it safely and right.  I would not recommend them.

"I met the members personally and found to be very cordial. I was disappointed we did not meet their expectations and appreciate their concerns. However, we have an impeccable, 100% accident-free safety record since we have been in business and will continue to do so. We value our staff and insure they adhere to our correct work methods and to handle all paint equipment and gear correctly. I have apologized to the member in the past and refunded payment immediately, but I am perplexed why they have waited over nine months to promote such a grievance? Mark Lowry, Raindango Partner"

HD Remodeling showed up on time and made sure to cover my hardwood floors with drop clothes so that they were not damaged.  They worked a complete eight hour day every day only stopping for lunch.  At the end of everyday that they were at my house they cleaned up all of the debris from the days work.  I was very impressed with the quality of work that they did on my bathroom.  I had a very dated looking bathroom and now I have a very modern looking bathroom that improves the over all look and quality of my home.   I would recommend them to anyone looking to remodel a kitchen or bathroom in their home.

I performed the framing and shower pan install in the master bath. They installed the tile and grout. One of the reps while here notice living room sagging. Made a great offer to repair it. Upon demo of the old ceiling, they found several old joists that had broken at knots in the wood. They replaced the entire Framing in the two rooms involved, installed new dry wall, tape & bed, textured new ceiling, matched the old wall texture, painted. All with great clean up each day. My wife and I had very little to do as far as cleaning once they were done. We will be using them again!!

It was really nice to work with this company. I had no fears that this project would be completed in a timely manner without  delays. I met with the designer and she helped me pick  the paint color to work best with the brick of my home. The process was wonderful from start to finish. They cleaned up after they were finished. I am very pleased with the work and the professionalism of all the associates of this company.

. Excellent job. Raindango is very professional and works with you to get exactly what you want. Obviously a complete tear-out of a bathroom is very messy. Raindango came in and double covered the carpet leading into the bath. They always cleaned up each day in the bath (to the extent possible) when they left. At the conclusion of the project they thoroughly cleaned everything, even vacuuming the bedroom carpet. This is the second bathroom remodel Raindango has done for us and we were very pleased both times.

this is a rental home, I know the floor was shaky, the toilet rocked and rolled when you sat., So they came over and stripped it down and fixed it from the ground up, they were very clean and I was happy with the work, all were friendly and committed to their word on visits and start and finish dates.

Side note: I have also hired them to help with some kitchen work  moving a water heater, and tearing out a wall.

It went great, but do yourself a favor and always remember that most contractors  usually have crews working on several jobs at the same time, or share their trades crews with others so there might be a wait for a plumber or an electrician.
Overall we could not believe the quality of workmanship (our tile, both floor and shower is awesome!!!) the willingness to work with our specific wishes and even being available for questions at night.  Our countertops were installed at 8:30 (with our permission) to keep the project moving along on time.

A huge thank-you to Angies List.  We never would have been brave enough to do this (all money up front) without Angies list behind it.  It met and surpassed both our expectations and impressed everyone who had seen the finished project.

Great Job HD Remodeling!!!!  We will use them again the minute we are ready to remodel our Master Bathroom.
