I purchased an Angie's List "Big Deal" I purchased laminate flooring before I called Raindango. I'm sure as is the case with many people, I was a bit leery about working with a contractor. You know, just the typical issues with not showing up or doing the job as well as you would expect the first time. I was pleasantly surprised with Raindango from start to finish. In the initial consultation with Mike Mitchell, he arrived when they said he would, gained a clear understanding of exactly what I needed, took the necessary measurements and produced an accurate quote the next day. Wow....this part was pain free! Next, they assigned a crew and the great experience continued! Caesar and crew showed up as scheduled and performed superior work. He went above and beyond when I couldn't find some of the materials needed to complete the job (quarter round). They found matching materials and finished the job to exceed my expectations. My floors look beautiful, the experience was GREAT and I will for sure use these guys again!
Description of Work: Installed laminate floor in living room, halls, closets and laundry room.

A representative of the company came out to review termite damage in a closet area of our home. A second visit was required to cut out areas of the wall and to remove trim to determine the extent of the damage. On the third visit, the work was started and the damage was determined. The crew was very conscious of keeping things clean as they worked, and they replaced sheet rock and hand made some custom trim to match the door trim which had been damaged by the termites. Painting was completed the next day, and the work was so good that you could not tell that anything had been disturbed. The crew was great throughout, and Mark and Ed were very professional. They gave us a bid on some additional work which we will have done next year, and we would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Did exploratory work to determine the extent of termite damage and repaired the damage, including replacing sheet rock and trim and painting.

Was perfect from start to finish
Description of Work: We had Raindango remove our old windows and install all new ones. The estimate was a great price and the installation was exactly what they said it would be ...they showed up early and finished installing all in one day. Beautiful windows and exactly what we wanted. Great Job! Thanks
We were delighted that they could estimate to do this complex work within our budget (we had been taken to the cleaners by some other contractors we used earlier, before we joined Angie's List) and we were not disappointed with the results from Raindango. In fact, the new 2nd story room, looks so good, it blends seamlessly with the rest of the home and looks as if it has always been here. My husband and I met several times with the owner/managers (Cole and others) of Raindango to go over prep for our job. They started on time and had the job completed earlier than I had anticipated and pretty much on budget. I've had A LOT of contractors doing remodeling at our home and Raindango's staff and subs are among the very best. Not only did our cabinetry/trim work turn out great but also the drywall and paint guys were the best I have seen in my 20+ years of being around the home construction business (my Dad used to build and sell homes). I have given permission to Raindango to allow anyone with questions concerning a potential job to contact me, in case they want an unbiased opinion from a former, very satisfied customer. I invite you to give them at try or at least to get an estimate from them (and try and talk to me, if needed). We are thinking of adding a small bath in part of our attic later and will definitely consider Raindango highly for that job too.
Description of Work: After a positive experience having a bathroom redone with Haley of HD Remodeling (before his company merged with Raindango Remodeling), I decided to give Raindango a try at adding a second level to a portion of our home. This was a BIG job, with framing needing to be done correctly, a new floor put in, insulation, electrical, A/C duct movement, door installation, custom built-in cabinetry, carpet installation, drywall and painting.
My house is small, old (built in the 60's) and in need of serious repairs and updating. I had been struggling with bids and Angie's List when a friend referred me to Cole Lowry of Raindango. Our first meeting was instant repoire. I told him what my priorities were - roof, plumbing and flooring, as well as my "wish list". From my sketchy details, Cole put together an estimate to do the repairs as well as completely update the interior of my home: Whole new kitchen: new oak cabinets, granite countertops, new subfloor and floor covering; new recessed lighting and adding electrical outlets. New appliances and rerouting water lines saved space and allowed for additional counter space. Bathroom completely remodeled w/ new tub, big girl toilet, new vanity and mirror, ceramic tile for tub enclosure and floor. Drywall repaired where needed. All cracks repaired. New texture, new paint, new carpet throughout. New ceiling fans in living room and two bedrooms. Replacement windows were really out of my budget but when I saw how shabby the old ones were, I knew it was the right time to do it. I am a widow, retired, and could ill-afford to be ripped off, but felt confident throughout our contract negotiations. We started with a separate roofing contract as I had received partial insurance money. I have to say, the roofing crew did a wonderful job on July 3, 3012. Unbelievable Texas heat removing two layers of old shingles and replacing with higher quality thirty-year shingles. Roofing and cleanup were complete that day. I signed the contract for the remodeling to start on Tuesday after Labor Day (my choice of dates). On start up day, the house had been emptied of all furnishings and cats and dogs (which was a plus for them). I was continually impressed with the progress and the professional way the workers were scheduled so everybody knew what was happening and when. Cole was in touch every step of the way. I picked out the appliances, flooring and fixtures I wanted but he made very helpful suggestions that were cost effective and at no time ever lost patience or threw me under the bus. The replacement windows make a dramatic difference in the appearance and energy efficiency of my home. All work was completed ahead of schedule (less than 30 days), and I have been back in my house for three weeks now. Everything is beautiful, fresh and feels like a brand new house. My friends are constantly stopping by see it (and me). I recommend Raindango to the most discerning of my friends. I started with Angie's List and the recommendation of a friend, and am ending with a new friend in Cole Lowry - a man of integrity, trustworthy, honest, and listens. His crews were always polite, hardworking and on time. His prompt response to phone calls and emails indicate that he pays attention to details and making his customers happy.
Description of Work: My major objectives: replace roof; plumbing repairs (original sewer line replacement); and repair or replace water-damaged kitchen flooring, and get an idea what I could afford beyond the essentials.
It was a pleasure working with Cole and Alan. The work crews were polite and finished the projects on schedule as planned. I have recommend them to my friends and will hire Raindango again when I replace our carpet for hardwood flooring.
Description of Work: I purchased a home that needed updating. Raindango Remodeling did an excellent job with our kitchen and master bath remodels. We were pleased with their work design for the kitchen with new cabinets, granite, lighting and floors. In the master bathroom they removed the old tub and replaced with a frameless steam shower and bench. Tile design and vanity are unique. It is now a wonderful, open area with plenty of natural light and closet space.

We purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for general contracting work for the purpose of identifying and repairing termite damage at our home. Mark and Ed came out on separate occasions to inspect the damage, and woodwork, trim and sheet rock were removed to inspect the extent of the damage. Once the scope of the work had been determined, the sheet rock crew came and repaired and replaced damaged wood and sheet rock. They also matched the existing texture on the wall perfectly, and painted the area with paint they had custom matched. The following day, the trim crew came to replace the custom trim which had been damaged, and they were able to match it nearly perfectly. After replacing the trim, it was painted and the site cleaned thoroughly. All of the working crew were clean and professional, and they did a great job of keeping the site clean and neat. You could probably find a cheaper contractor, but the prices were reasonable considering the quality of the work and their satisfaction guarantee. Highly recommended.

The experience was the best contractors I have ever worked with. They were very professional and told me upfront of the cost of the project and stayed on budget.
Description of Work: We had our popcorn ceiling in our family room removed and cracks repaired and repainted. We also had cracks in the walls repaired in our kitchen and in our guest bedroom. We had a tree fall on our house in a storm in 2010 and the contractor we worked with at that time left a lot of things undone. But now we had our kitchen repaired and repainted and the guest room repaired and repainted.

I found them on Angie's List. I got one of the big deal. It wasn't a great experience. They got the work done. The finished product was good. They didn't really seem to know what they were doing in the process. They used to ask me what they need to do. The process was stressful. My kitchen looks good.

I bought an Angies List deal. Get 40 hours of labor for half of what it normally costs. Sounded good. Bought it knowing I had a tight budget and could get more bang for my buck this way. I was contacted shortly thereafter and when talking to the gentleman on the phone I said I didn't know how much I could get done for 40 hours and his reply was "not much". We met and I showed him the two rooms that the floors needed replacing and a very small bathroom. He immediately started up selling me and told me that these "Angies List" deals had inftaled hourly rates to help pay Angies List. He says he can do the kitchen and utility room for antoher $2,000. Then he started playing with numbers etc. (like a used car salesman) and says he can do both rooms and the bathroom for an additonal $1,200. I then told him no and started to want to see if I could get out of this "deal". He then said he would do me a favor by doing both kitchen and utilty room for the Angies List price plus he would now charge me a fee for moving the appliances and would grout a little area in the bathroom. He said he would have two crews out and it would be done in a day and a half. Only 2 men came and it was done in 28 hours shorting me at least 10 hours. They put the debris on in garbage bags which I had to provide, and put them on the lawn. I had to move them off the lawn so it wouldn't kill the grass. They never picked the bags up until I e-mailed the company to have them removed. The men never came back when they said they were going to, they just showed up. They did replace the floors, but when done, they put the appliances back with out hooking them back up. I e-mailed my contact man and he never has responded back. I since then have had to pay someone else to hook it up for me. They left saw dust all over the counters and sink and never cleaned up. They even left old quarter round that they had pulled up on my counter top. It was a lousy experience. Don't buy these "Angies List" deals unless you are welling to get ripped off. You are at their mercy to be honest about how much time it will take and what they charge. I could have gotten the same job done for 1/2 as much had I used a contractor from the Better Business Bureau. I thought Angie's List was such a great deal, well buyer beware!!!!!!!
Description of Work: Flooring replaced in a small kitchen (99 ft) and a utlity room (106 ft.). Was to tear up old flooring and put down new flooring. Flooring was vinyl locking panels. Grout work in small bathroom where tile was loose.

Response from Raindango Design and Remodeling
I talked to the member to truly see where the communications failed. I willing to refund the project amount or provide her additional services at no cost. I was willing to go out of our way to assist her with the complaint. I hate to see complaints not resolved because a customer will not return calls or assist with a resolution. Mark Lowry, Partner
Friendly, knowledgable estimator. Price was very competitive and we liked that we had one project manager who we worked with. Not all companies we bid with had that. It took a bit longer to get started than we anticipated. First the new cabinets had to be built and installed so that then the granite counter tops could be measured. The Granite fabricator was a bit behind but once the job started, it was finished in 6 days. We were only unable to use the kitchen for a couple of days. Good communication when trades would be there. Responsive to finishing up punch list items. All trades people used were very professional and friendly. They came when scheduled.
Description of Work: Kitchen: Built 9 Feet of new cabinets against an existing pony wall. Installed granite counter tops entire kitchen. New backsplash. Built a new 9 foot bar over a half wall separating kitchen from family room. Installed over and under LED cabinet lighting. Installed pot lights over new bar. New sink, garbage disposer (switched disposal from left to right undermount) New faucet. Faux painted kitchen island. Installed wine cooler. Misc. Work: Granite countertop for hall desk. Refaced brick fireplace with Travertine tile. Installed granite countertop and new sink for guest bathroom. Painted existing fireplace mantel and TV built in cabinet.

Haley had a couple of calls from my adjuster so he was aware that I was still waiting for the bulk of the money to do the flooring (laminate through out the house, as well as the kitchen (I contacted them through Angie's List on their $4800 coupon deal which was being used for the kitchen). After I paid them, they have not been back out. Haley knew I did not have the money for the other areas yet, so he moved on to other jobs, which would have been ok if they would have finished the bathroom where they started which I did have money for. I have called both him and his worker and my calls and texts were ignored. My mother (helping me through all of this) actually caught Haley on the phone one time because the adjuster wanted to speak to him, and she told him that they needed to come back out and finish what they started in the bathroom. He agreed but we never heard from him again. He tried to start problems with the insurance company (knowing that I was already having problems getting the adjuster to pay the amount that Haley said he had already approved) by whining to my insurance adjuster that I was trying to go behind his back with his worker to get a cheaper deal, which is false. In reality, surprisingly his worker approached me, I am guessing maybe he knew something that I did not .... that I was going to be abandoned on the job since I did not have the money or the money yet from the insurance claim? I told his worker that I had an agreement through the coupon with Angie's List and that he would have to beat all these prices significantly for me to start over per say dealing with someone else. Nothing ever developed from this communication with the company's team. In fact, I have not spoken to anyone since April 27, 2012. Finally Haley replied via text stating that he was told that I went with his worker and that is why I paid his worker directly - these are lies, I have text messages to back me up where he told me what to pay and whom to pay...I even double checked and asked if he was sure he wanted me to give him the money as I did not know how they worked out Haley's cut. So now I am left with not only a house to remodel, but a partially started bathroom. Raindango has abandoned the job with no further comment period. I am shocked, and while I put so much work into making this project work with them, I do not think it would be wise for me to do business with them now. Haley had me pay his men $1236 for work done on the cabinets, the baseboards (install and paint) and the installation of a tile floor. The bathroom is still in the shape they left it in (torn out). The work that is incomplete (only meaning the work that they started - not the bid on the work in most of the house that we were supposed to have done) is the tile floor which is tiled but not grouted. The baseboards were purchased but never installed nor painted.. I tried to return them only to find out that they cut them and I can not return them. The cabinets were done. All I know to do now is to ask for a refund since they are not returning to perform ANY WORK. I do not think this is unreasonable. I expect a refund of $550 for not grouting the tile floor, for removal, installation, alteration and painting of the baseboards and casings for which they were paid for on April 27, 2012. Disappointment does not begin to describe what I think about this company and its representatives. I can only hope that they will have the honor and integrity in their response to this complaint since this was not shown in their actions which they purport to hold by the listing as a reputable contractor on Angie's List. Should any proof of my statements need to be provided, please let me know as I have documentation on everything stated herein.
Description of Work: I had an estimate for remodel for an insurance water damage claim which occurred on Jan. 18, 2012. I have had trouble with my insurance company from the beginning. Haley Hougen spoke to him and said his bid was approved, but the adjuster did not say the same thing..the adjuster verbally approved to 3 people but would not stand behind his agreement. I purchased all the materials myself (search, purchase, ship). The initial pre-start job estimate was for $19, 618.67. Since I had received a partial check, even though we were still waiting on final confirmation, I allowed Raindango to start the work in the master bath. They knew I did not have all the money, as they saw the insurance estimate - they were not left in the dark about anything. Raindango started April 25, 2012. The men worked until April 27, 2012 where they mostly gutted my bathroom except the tub. On April 27 (Friday) - Haley, the president, wanted me to pay them for their work that week (even though it was not complete) and give the cash to the men on site. I put my trust in him and did just that. The money was for the cabinet alteration, installation and painting of baseboards and also a tile floor.

Initial arrival was on time and professional. 2 weeks went by with no response. Had to call again to see what was going on. Estimator had missed work and promised to email estimate. After another several day delay again, turned out the email address they were emailing was incorrect. The estimate for each bathroom was about 8k-9k. Photos were included of previous/similar work, which looked good to me. The estimates were itemized and professional. I was interested in the special that was running for half price work and thought since the job had not started, it would be eligible. When I emailed to confirm my interpretation of the special, I never heard back. That was the last straw for me.
Description of Work: Estimates requested on two tile bathrooms redo and expansion of one of them. One month time limit on the work from estimate to completion required. Did not move forward due to lack of punctuality and responsiveness.

They are extremely prompt. The minute you leave a voice-mail, he calls you back; the minute you send an email, he writes you back and when you set up an appointment with him, he is there. We are three weeks out from starting. His price is a little bit higher than what I want, but you pay for what you get.
Description of Work: I am in the planing stages with Raindango! Remodeling to do a complete master bathroom remodel and guest bathroom remodel.
Purchased a Deal from Angie's List for a bathroom remodel offered by HD Remodel. Contacted Haley, the owner of the company, soon after the Deal purchase. We scheduled an appointment at our residence. Haley arrived on time, completed measurements and discussed our options and plans. After a week or so, due to our decision process, we selected a vanity, granite vanity top, tile, faucets and light fixture. Choices were based on suppliers that Haley uses and based on our Angie's Deal choices. Haley ordered all the materials and scheduled the work once all materials had arrived at his location. All work was completed in approx. 8 days. We are very pleased with the new bathroom and would not hesitate to use HD Remodeling again. We noticed a small leak under the vanity several weeks after the work was completed, contacted Haley and he had a plumber onsite the next day to correct the issue. Overall it was a good experience and again we are very pleased with the way the remodel turned out.
Description of Work: Complete bathroom remodel for secondary bathroom. New vanity, mirror, light fixture, sink faucet, shower faucet, exhaust fan, tub, toilet, new tile on floor and bathtub surround including tiled soap and shampoo shelving. New paint on walls. Replaced green board in shower surround with hardibacker before tiling.

Overall, the experience has been excellent. They have all the credentials that any company needs. When we got estimates from other roofing companies, not one other company that we talked to had all of the credentials. They do not over charge! Our neighbors had their entire home re-gutted and remodeled by them, and it’s so beautiful. The technicians have been professional, are honest, and they’ve been great to work with. I’ve worked with them for 5 years and they’ve always done a great job. I referred them to others, and everyone has been pleased!
Description of Work: They’re excellent. In fact, I’m using them right now! They’re getting ready to do a huge roofing job on a 150 unit condo. They’ve painted the entire property, and I’ve had a lot of remodeling done inside. They’ve done work for me personally as well.
