It was frustrating. I bought the service because of an Angie's List promotion. When I received the package I opened it and saw what it was and set it aside. I was very busy and planned to get to it in a few days. I had to go out of town for a few days, then I had a ridiculous string of bad luck with multiple car breakdowns. I have a neuromuscular disease so everything I do is very difficult and exhausting. With so much happening, I forgot about the test kit. Then after a couple weeks I get a call from Mold Lab asking about the kit saying it was past the due back date and they were going to charge me $25 a day late fee on the pump. I was stunned! I opened the box and there was nothing inside saying it was due by a certain time. I re-read the Angie's List ad and there was nothing there either. The lady was very rude and kept interrupting me saying the same things over and over like maybe I would finally understand if she kept repeating it. I understood the first time. She wouldn't listen to understand I didn't know about the deadline but now that I was made aware of it I would do the testing that day and ship it that day. What else could I do? That wasn't good enough she had to repeat her lecture a few more times. After sending it in I was told I would receive a text when it was complete and I would receive an email with results within a few days. After a month I called and the same lady answered. She claimed to have sent an email, but didn't know the date and told me to check my junk mail folder. I checked everywhere but had no record of it. I explained I hadn't received the text either, she had no response for that. So she sent an email while we were on the phone and I received it immediately. I printed out the results but without the proper training or experience in laboratory sciences it was basically useless.

The company sent a packet with instructions to provide samples from two sites. We returned these in the Priority envelope provided. Within a few days we received an evaluation of the mold. It does not appear to be a serious problem. I would have graded this work higher if the company had provided general guidelines for remediating the problem. We were relieved to find the problem not serious, but would have appreciated more clarity, such as a simple page outlining safe and unsafe do-it-yourself procedures materials materials. (Suggestions I found online, such as whether to use vinegar, bleach, etc., were sometimes confusing, even contradictory.)

I received the kit very quickly, followed the easy to understand instructions for mold collection, returned the kit and received my report in just a few days. I called the office with additional questions after receiving the report. My questions were answered quickly and professionally. Great customer service.

I was glad with how fast, friendly, easy it went for me to turn it in and get results quickly. They helped with my Angie's discount so it was good to know i got the best price (less than I imagined) to have this done. The possibility of having mold in a house is stressful enough... glad to have this go smoothly.

It went very well. They were really fast and efficient. They sent me a mold lab kit and used the tester kit and I sent it back to them and then they send me the results. They got back to me like six days after I sent it off. There were no additional costs.

the collecting part is very simple--instructions are provided. The pump is fairly heavy duty and has a long cord. You connect the collection containers to the pump, run for 10 minutes each, then pack it all up and drop off at the post office. I got my results about 3 days later via email. The information provided is very professional and appropriate for what they promised. They do not give any health related advice--just type and concentrations of mold spores in the samples. They list each type of mold and give a summary of it's characteristics and how your samples compare to the outside sample. If these results raise any concerns, you'll need to get a professional to help with further analysis, cultures, or mitigation. This kit gives you a starting point and can provide piece of mind and save you money if there's nothing significant going on.

Test performed as promised at agreed-upon price. Took a little longer to receive results than vendor indicated. Would have helped to have a live human briefly explain results on a quick summary phone call rather than just getting a long/dry email with technical terms that were difficult to understand.

The Kit including everything you need for sampling 3 areas of your home plus 2 more optional units. It testing procedure was quite straightforward. After sending in the kit back - the results came fairly quickly with detailed results.

Process was easy. They sent equipment, I followed the instructions on how to collect the samples, and mailed everything back to the company. The results were sent to me promptly and I was pleased to see that the report was very detailed and logically presented. Great service and much cheaper because I was able to set up the test by myself instead of having a service person come out and take the samples for me.

They analyzed my samples and gave me a helpful report, with no mold discovered thankfully.

The test kit arrived 2 days after ordering it, samples were taken and mailed in the pre-paid return envelope that same day. The weekend and a Monday Holiday delayed delivery of the samples until Tuesday (no fault of Moldlab). The test report was received by email at 1:00 PM the next day, Wednesday. Excellent response time with prompt email messages at each step of the process.

The process was very easy, and I was satisfied with the information I was provided with.

The only "weakness" in the system is that the report doesn't really say which molds are worrisome and which are not. It tells you how much of each type of mold is present and it gives pretty thorough general information on each type of mold they screen for. The problem is, most of the descriptions say, in effect, this mold can be a problem but usually it's harmless -- and that "hedging" makes it difficult to know what to do by way of remediation, if any. They do give you a quantitative assessment of how much of each mold is present relative to your control sample (best done outside) and those are coded "red", "yellow" and "green" -- but what do you do if you have a "red" amount of a generally harmless mold?? You can't really tell from their report. I guess where I'd leave this is that if you get a report that says you have no more mold in your test locations than in your control location -- you've definitely gotten your money's worth. If, however, you get a report that there's some mold in excess of control amounts -- you're still going to be wondering what to do about it and may need to call in a mold specialist anyway and they are probably going to want to run their own samples. If you're pretty sure you've eradicated your mold and just want proof -- I'd strongly recommend their service. If you're looking just to prove you have mold and have someone you can ask what to do about it -- I'd strongly recommend them. If you are hoping for someone to tell you, after testing, exactly how to eradicate what you have -- that's not really what these folks do (nor, in fairness, to they claim to do this). Overall -- happy with the professionalism and service and happy with the price.

I lost the kit, but next time they have a deal offered, I will get another!

I received the testing kit in just a few short business days with all of the necessary items to perform a quick test on the mold I had present in my home. I followed the easy directions and sent the tests back in. I got the results within 5 business days or so and they were very detailed. It was helpful to learn exactly what type of mold I was dealing with and at a low cost. Much cheaper and faster than what a lot of the local companies wanted to charge me! ($450)

Purchased Big Deal, received the kit within a week, followed instructions, mailed kit back, got an e-mail with results within a week. Only downside is kit cost about $5 to mail back, otherwise very satisfied , prompt service.

This went great and we got our results and we are pleased with that. We got our results quickly. They were thorough.

We were selling a property and the home inspection uncovered some mold in the attic/basement areas. Ordered a kit from Moldlab who shipped it out right away - unfortunately we gave them the wrong address. When I called to talk about an extension to get the kit back to them they were extremely accommodating and understanding. Kit/test was fairly straightforward to administer and instructions/online video helped a bunch - we shipped back the specimens and got our results right away with a report that was easy to read/understand.
