BEWARE. Their sales folks will mislead you to get the sale. I signed up on 12/21/2022 right after we closed on our house. Between the moving and Christmas chaos plus our dog was actually dying (which I told him as he was sitting on my couch with her), I was the perfect target for their salesman. I was nervous about signing up, because I was unfamiliar with these services. He asked, "Is this your forever home?" I said, "The longest we have stayed somewhere has been two years," and he said, "Two years is perfect for this service." In that conversation I was under the impression that it was a two year term. He was in ear shot when I repeated that to my husband. He walked me through the contract on an iPad, holding it while explaining each item. He would summarize, say, "Just initial here," then click the DocuSign box, making the signature box fill the screen. At no point was I informed I was agreeing to a five-year term. Though on the contract it looks like I signed "right next to" the term, I never held the iPad and he always clicked the signature before showing it to me. Beyond being misled, HomePro's service has been far from "the best in the market." Our builder-included doorbell disconnected, and I was told it would cost $120 to fix. Customer service suggested buying a different doorbell instead, which I did. Now, my front door lock is disconnected and I will have to pay a service fee to have them fix it. I cannot change the access codes to my house and I cannot lock or unlock my door remotely now. I also ordered a smart garage door, but the technician informed me I already had one. He said it would be removed from my equipment loan, and the sales person confirmed, but I continued being charged until I noticed. Additionally, our control panel failed twice, yet HomePro didn’t prorate our monitoring fees. When I finally decided to switch services due to the faulty equipment, I only then discovered I was locked into a five-year term and it's $1400 to cancel. Tech changes so much within 5 years, a 5 year term would be a tough sell which is why they conceal it. Please do your research, stay vigilant when they are selling to you and just stay away from them altogether.

Customer for over 10 years. Always a huge fan of HomePro after they acquired our previous alarm company, Sound Perfection of Frisco, TX. No more. All over signs and stickers. I can't divulge the details - too confidential. Needless to say, I will be sharing this on other sites as well as countless neighbors and family members who I referred to HP. Buyer beware.

Short Story (TLDR) : As other users have stated Yes, the service is fairly subpar and they will have you paying for services for months without having activated them. Yes, your cameras will consistently have issues and they will gaslight you into believing they are due to your internet. Yes, they deceptively put you in 5-year contracts, and if you try to cancel they will threaten to continue to charge you and eventually send you to collections if you don't pay. Please make sure to record all your calls with these people as I have otherwise they will do some pretty crazy levels of lying and deception. Long Story: 2022 - So I closed on my new construction home in Fort Worth in 2022 and before closing we had a HomePro salesperson pitch the product and I felt pretty safe with them based on what was told to us at the time. He proposed paying overtime or a one-time payment for the equipment and I decided to pay all at once. Now mind you at no point did this man ever disclose that I would be locked into a 5 year service contract. I know this because my wife recorded our conversation as she does with all salespeople (she is a Trial Lawyer and you'd be surprised how many frivolous litigations can be upended by a simple voice recording). 2023 - During the first half of 2023 (February I believe) I realized that they had not activated my Unlimited Camera Recording despite this part of my service plan. I called them and asked if they could be activated. They stated it wouldn't be a problem and all I would have to do was put in an SD card. Which I did and installed and just forgot about it. Around this time I started noticing my cameras were very spotty. I didn't understand why but no matter what I did they were very spotty, especially my front door and driveway cameras. They told me it was my internet and I needed to get an extender which I did but the issue persisted. I even upgraded from 1GB internet to 2GB internet and saw no changes. Being in tech I was a bit suspicious at first because I knew it couldn't be the speed of my internet as everything else worked and I have a mesh system that drastically improves bandwidth but only the HomePro cameras seemed to have an issue. I decided that hey at least they work when they work I will leave it at that and be understanding. 2024 - In early September of 2024 I had an unfortunate situation where a contractor threatened to SA my wife in our home while I was away. It was a horribly frightening moment in our lives and I immediately thought to myself "Thank God we have HomePro". I go to check the onboard recording and I can't find it anywhere on the dashboard. I decided to call HomePro and ask where I can find it and the tech support agent notified me that he could see it was added to my account but it was never activated. Now I want you to imagine for a second... A SECURITY COMPANY not activating SECURITY FEATURES that are PART OF YOUR SERVICE for 2 YEARS.....2 YEARS!! I was livid but I kept my cool and I was respectful with the guy on the phone and I told myself "You know what, we will do what we have to do to work with the police to get this handled." Within 2 weeks of this happening the front yard camera gave out when I tried troubleshooting it due to it being so buggy we couldn't view the front yard for more than 2 seconds without it timing out. So I am done at this point and when I call to cancel they notify me that I have a 5 year contract and that it will cost me upwards of $2.5K to purchase out of my contract. You can imagine how disgusted I was that after dealing with ABSOLUTELY SUPBAR SERVICE, HORRIBLE EQUIPMENT, and the literal ASSAULT OF MY WIFE and subsequent investigation that could have been mitigated by a service I PAY FOR that wasn't even working, and now they are telling me they will charge me $2.5k or send me to collections if I don't pay...LOL Have fun trying to get that money from me because I will get litigious if I have to. These people are absolutely incompetent and downright scummy in their business practices. Do not work with them.

Worst company, rudest employees and shady contracts. Homepro will automatically renew contracts and attempt to make you pay out services not rendered when moving to a location they don't support. Do not use this company unless you're a glutton for punishment. The staff should be imprisoned

Hired to be sales rep, paid me for 2 weeks of training, HP did not adequately train, they focused more on lunch served during training rather than seeking for clarification if new hires comprehended info. Appointments set by home office were ghost Appointments where no one was home or never set up an appointment...I was not paid for my last week of training after realizing this opportunity was was highly misleading.

On 07/21 HomePro monitoring service stopped. On 07/22 I reported issue and was informed supplier caused outage and working to resolve. Rang 09/06 to ask for prorated refund as per contract. Told they would have to charge me circa $95 to come out and repair. I said for what, your issue, and you take my money? Then put through to customer loyalty (that's a joke, I doubt they could spell loyalty!) Cedric or Kedric then told me that there was no record of the call. I told him I have it on my phone. He also told me he could offer a July rebate (did not mention August) and that if I signed up for the maintenance contract, it would only cost me a flat $40 to repair. I asked him to cancel the contract, his response I have offered a solution and cannot do that. Informed him that I would be seeking attorney advice and writing to CEO. I have been a customer for 5-years and have had multiple issues with them If anyone else is in the same boat, I am interested in trying to get a Class Action Lawsuit against them. Their business practice is not ethical. I pay $57.32 per month for no service. They are a joke.

This company sucks and tries to suck money out of you at every single opportunity they get. Last month my motion detector went off when it was armed at night and came out to check on us. Then again it has happened three times already. I called them and they said it must be due to conversion from 3g to 5g and asked me to change the alarm panel because their system couldn't keep up with the changing network and I had to $100. I said fine I will pay it even though that wasn't my fault. So now, the motion problem should have gone away but it started going off again. I called the technical support to get it replaced or at least get it changed. The tech support tells it's going to be $85 an hour for them to look at it. Shouldn't this be part of our service agreement? Since these guys put in the system they should be able to at least look it for free. They have sucked me into their contract but I highly recommend everyone to stay away from these people. They lie and take your money.
Description of Work: Had me upgrade my system to fix motion sensor and charge me again to fix the same issue.

They haven't started the worked yet but we are going to use them. I did the quote through phone call with them. The person I spoke with is knowledgeable about their product. I basically describe to them what I was looking for and they actually were able to provide kind of a package price which made it cheaper for me. I got pass off a couple of times to several different people that kind of put me off a little bit but then the person I ended up he instantly came off and laid off everything was going on. He was really good about what he's doing.

This company apparently changed it's name from Sound Perfection http://www.soundperfectioninc.com/ (Horrible Angie's List Ratings) to HomePro http://www.homeprotech.com. It's the same people and the same lousy service. They originally installed all the media and alarm equipment when the home was built. I bought the home including the media room projector, and screen and all I needed was for them to sell me and program a receiver and a blueray/dvd and tuner to play music throughout the pre-wired and speaker home. They ended up putting in additional equipment that cost me about $5000! There were all sorts of issues after they left and after several calls not returned, I finally told them to come get everything and issue a refund or I'd take action. They came out and fixed everything at the time, but shortly after, I could no longer play music throughout the home and started having other issues with the remotes.. That was several months ago and still have not been able to coordinate with them. I called again yesterday and was told that the salesperson (who I had to talk with) was not available and would call me before the end of the day....guess what, no phone call at all once again! I've given up on this company and would not recommend anyone hire them. They changed their name to HomePro, but beware, nothing has changed. Still extremely poor service!!!

The installation was fast and he explained the system well. I had a question later on and I was able to call him and he walked me through something about it.
Description of Work: I used HomePro for security. They provided installation of the service. The house is pretty wired so they came in and put everything in.
