Andys Sprinkler Drainage & Lighting

My sprinkler system had a number of issues. Andy's guys showed up on time, seemed knowledgable, and worked hard and fast, which is good because you're paying by the hour. They managed to fix a number of issues, but I had low flow on two systems and they just couldn't figure out why. They spent 4 hours working on it, replaced two valves and just couldn't solve the problem. They didn't know what to do, so I paid them for their work and they left. 30 minutes later their manager shows up with a crew, fixed my problem and cut my bill in half and refunded me. I'll do business with these guys again.

first off let me say that Im not the best client (rarely settle on any quote, and cancel or change dates on contractors all the time) But... The service was TOP NOTCH, and I would defiantly recommend Andy's I inquired online through email....The company called me imidiatly and told me one of their service men would contact me within 24 hours, he did. a guy named Josh DePauw called me and set up an appointment. He arrived right on time and was very informative and helpful, Not pushy at all and even recommended other alternatives to my situation. we settled on a solution (4 drainage catch basins and a line that drained to the street). we set a date to have the job done. Josh was very easy to reach for any questions and concerns I had and was very considerate when I switched the date for the job on him twice. I also had some issues arise between the set job date with my sprinkler system, I notified him about them and asked if he could also give me a estimate on the additional service. he offered to the work at no charge giving the nature of the job. This was GREATLY appreciated. On the day of the job, Cory Flippin arrived with his crew right on time, ran me through what they were gonna do and how long it would take. they finished with better than expected results in the time frame they had estimated. Also I would like to note while he was ther Cory ran threw my sprinkler system and pointed out some issues, he offered to repair them free of charge since his crew was already on site. Being a new home owner he also offered to run me through my sprinkler device and show me how it worked (i declined since im pretty savy but this was still GREATLY appreciated) **There hasn't been much rainfall, so I cant say Ive tested the work but I will update this when It does.

Earlier this year, I started experiencing water entering my home, through my garage, during heavy rainfalls. I have lived in the home for ten years, and have hever had this problem before. The water would seep under the garage door, travel down the wall, and into my bathroom which adjoined the garage. Based on recommendations from Angie's List, I contacted Andy's in mid-June. Josh came out to my home and allowed me to explain the problem. He saw at once was the problem was, and told me that he would design a drainage system and get back to me with a quote. I got the quote within a day or so, accepted it, and Josh called me and set the date of June 27th for the work. Late in the week preceding the 27th, Josh called to ask if I could possibly reschedule for Friday, July 1st, since one of their clients was having all new sod installed, and their sprinkler system had failed. He had checked the weather to be sure that we weren't expecting any rain that would cause me problems in the meantime. I had no problem rescheduling, and was happy to see that Andy's was "going the extra mile" for another customer who had a need more pressing than mine. The guys arrived promptly on Friday morning and got right to work. It was shortly determined that a section near my garage that we had thought was dirt was actually concrete, which had to be drilled up in the process of digging the ditch for the drainpipe. This has not been included in the quote, but Josh said that if it didn't necessitate the job running over the one day, they would not charge me any extra for this. Cory was in charge of the crew, and he was great. The guys worked all day and got the job done by nightfall. While there, they did a complete test of my sprinkler system, and discovered five or six sprinklerheads that were broken or out of order in some way. They repaired those at no extra cost to me.They completely cleaned up after themselves. When they left, if it wasn't for the two catch basins and the downspout tie in, I wouldn't know they had been there. I rate that very highly on my list of attributes for a service company. I was completely satisfied with the job. It hasn't been tested yet, since we've had no rain, but the process was great. I will definitely use this firm again for any sprinkler, drainage or lighting issues I have in the future.

We were able to discuss the potential project over the phone in enough detail to tell me that I didn't want to go forward. I appreciated the opportunity to talk to them and get a rough idea of scope. They were responsive and professional in a situation where they wound up not making any money.

Overall the 2 man team was very good and very professional. I like the instant email of receipt copies.

The work came out exactly as I had hoped it would and in some cases exceeded my expectations. Most importantly, it solved the problem of water getting into the barn. The new road base driveway does not wash away. There is no more washing away of dirt by the down spouts. The entire area is much neater and is easier to maintain. There is a side door on the downhill side of the barn and they had to remove the steps to put in the drainage. I asked if they could somehow make better looking brick steps than we had there before; everything again had settled and dirt had washed away. They took our existing bricks, bought two landscaping flagstones, and what a nice entrance they made into the side of the barn. It looks absolutely wonderful. Everyone on the project was personable, hardworking, and efficient. They dumped an entire load of rock into the yard for the project and at the end one of the guys was on his hands and knees making sure every single rock was out of the yard and into the landscaping around the barn. They were very knowledgeable about how to go about solving my drainage problems and were also willing to listen to my ideas and answer my questions. I was very satisfied with the work and am planning on hiring them for another project I have in mind.

Even though I called later into the spring season then I had orginally anticipated, they were able to accomodate me with an appointment in less than 10 days. Once again (I had used them before) they were courteous, professional, and called me when they had finished their previous appointment and were on their way to meet me. The work was done quickly, for a price that was fair, and they gave me some tips in dealing with my aging sprinkler system. I will continue to use them to keep my system supported and, in fact, I will have them give me a quote for a redesigned system in the off season.

We were cautious as we approached selecting the company to perform the work having our lawn irrigation system replaced. I received 4 bids and did a lot of research before signing the contract and allowing the work to begin. Andy's Sprinkler and Drainage wasn't the lowest or the highest quote we received so their price was right in line. However, I think one thing that stood out about them was the way the salesman, Josh, was able to collaborate and offer suggestions to help us solve our problem. Cory, our project manager was on site every day and very interested in making sure the job was completed on time and with quality. The work was excellent, however, after installation the city inspector did make them come back and replace one covering box at the check-valve insisting that it be a jumbo box rather than a standard "large" box. I called Cory and the crew was back the very same day making the change. Josh, Cory, and the whole crew were extremely responsive during the entire process: sales, quote, installation, and inspection. During the installation phase the crew began work each day right at 8:30am (the agreed upon start time) and they worked to dark each night. I was impressed. I am glad we chose Andy's Sprinkler, Drainage, and Lighting for our project.

I took advantage of one of their Angie's List deals and he came out and revived some of sprinkler heads as they were going. It turned out pretty good. He came when he said he would and did a good job. It was a deal where they came out and inspected your sprinkler system.

Staff was friendly when I called to set the appointment. I was looking for a particular date & time a couple weeks in the future and they were able to accommodate. They called the day before to confirm, and the day of the appointment called 30 minutes before they would arrive. Luis and his crew of two knocked out the work in a shorter amount of time than originally estimated. They were friendly, efficient, and left the yard looking as if it hadn't been touched (even with having to re-route heads). Luis was courteous, diligent, great at answering my questions walking me through their plan, and validation of the entire system when they were done. This has been a great company to deal with from start to finish and I will not hesitate to use them again in the future.

The team came on time, made a quick assessment and completed all reapirs within the timeframe projected. They were extremely knowledgable, professional, personable and courteous.

My appointment was between 3 & 5PM. I was informed when making the appointment someone would call 30 minutes prior to let me know the crew was on their way. I was called by Matt within the timeframe and he let me know that he was running late. I told him it was no problem and to call me and let me know when he was on his way, which he did, and he was still on time. Matt showed up with his helper and we discussed what I needed done. A short time after Matt arrived, Pete, a manager, showed up as well. Shortly after that there was a group of worker's that were on site, at one point I think I counted 10. Pete and Matt checked and evaluated my sprinkler system and made reccomendations as to what needed to be done. After agreeing to have all of the reccomendations completed that day, they all went to work. Matt and Pete were very informative and answered all the questions I had and explained in detail what they were doing. I had a zone in the backyard that wasn't working. Pete located the broken wires with his equipment, even letting me use it to see how it operates and locates the problem. All of the workers were very efficient and courteous leaving everything as they found it before leaving. The crew started working almost immediately upon arrival and 2.5 hours later everything was repaired. For the amount of work that was done I think the price was very fair. The only problem I have is Pete reccomended moving the sprinkler heads away from my fence so they would not spray on the fence. I agreed with him since my fence is new and I prefer not to have the typical spray pattern on the wood as it ages. Unfortunately, there are some heads that still spray on the fence, even when there is no wind.

First time I called with sprinkler board programming issue, their response was good, although on the day of service, when I asked for the Angie's List discount, tech said he wasn't good with compters, so had to request refund from home office (which I did receive). Also was informed by tech that Frisco required a rain and freeze sensor and this MUST be installed at cost of $155.00. This may be the law for new homes, but not sure it is the law for existing homes. I did ante up this additional cost but felt uncomfortable with the way it was presented and felt taken advantage of. Second time I needed their services, I called regarding fixing a sprinkler leak, gal on the phone said "Kevin will work you in next Tuesday, Apr. 5." I cancelled other appointments I had on that day and literally carried the phone in my pocket ALL day waiting on a call stating they were on their way. They never called or showed up. Never called to reschedule the appointment.or apologize in any way. I also e-mailed the company informing them of the oversight. In short, I wasted an entire day waiting on them to call. Will never use this company again.

100% satisfied. Arrived on time for both the initial meeting and the day of the work. The four man crew was professional and worked for a solid two days without much downtime. Survey equipment was used to get the proper slope to the drainage system. The crew took excess dirt from the project and added it to low spots in the yard when asked and cleaned up the worksite before leaving the first day. Great job and I recommend them highly.

Very unprofessional and the feeling I was a "quick profit." I have since had someone from another company come out and thoroughly check my property and particularly the drainage portion. French drains are for deep ground drainage problems, which I did not have. To cut to the chase, I am have the problem corrected at less than half the cost. Andy likes to fix sprinklers and they do fine at that. They should back off from trying to quickly solve more serious problems.

I had Andy?s replace my timer back in 2007. with a modular Rain Bird system. It had stopped working and even though it was out of warranty they replaced the expensive circuit board for labor only. ($100.00). They called back two weeks later to check with me and see if everything was OK. I told them it seems that I had one station that was not programing properly. They had some one back out in 30 minutes to check it. This time they replaced the whole unit at no cost at all. How can you beat that??

They stayed until it was done. They got the work done on the same day. I thought the pricing was fair and reasonable compared to one other bid I received. They came on time.

The two men were on time and immediatley located the broken pipe, plus another smaller break I was not aware of. I had them check out the system (12 zones) and they identified a number of leaking heads/rotors plus a large number that would not retract anymore. The system is about 15 years old and it was time to make the repairs so they replaced 26 pop ups and 6 rotors. The final price was right on the estimate. They are somewhat more expensive than other companies I have used in the past, however they make up for it by always sending two men out, they work fast, and they know what they are doing. Work quality is excellent. I've used them before and will use them again.

I was very pleased with the service. Brett and his crew did a great job. They were punctual and professional. Brett explained everything they found and did. The explanation of the water pressure issue went a long way to explaining some issues we've had with the lawn since we moved in. When/if I decide to have the system redone I'll definitely call Andy's.

They had the system fixed in less than 30 minutes and were on their way. I couldn't ask for better service.

Punctual, friendly, polite, professional, inexpensive

I found Andy's on Angie's List. My experience with them was great! I called to have someone out to give me a free estimate on a drainage solution that has existed for quite some time. I got 4 quotes and decided to go with Andy's even thought they were not the cheapest. Matthew Chapman is the gentleman who propsed the drainage solution and quoted the cost. He showed up exactly when he said he would. He emailed me a thorough explanation of the work to be performed including an aerial shot of the property, where the catch basins would be placed, and where the drainage line would be dug. It had been suggested by an engineer that we also have two vents installed in the pier and beam foundation so I asked Matthew if they could do that, too. He included the two vents in the price. His crew was amazing! They completed the entire project in two days in the face of less than ideal weather conditions. The solution has already proven to work flawlessly as it has rained since the basins and drainage line were installed. If you did not know that a large trench had been dug in the yard, you would not be able to tell. They filled in the trench and the grass that was dug out was placed back so neatly that it is virtually seamless. I doubt I will ever need their services again for a drainage solution, but I will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone requiring their services. They are pros at what they do!

I'd just purchased a new house. Before I moved in my water bill was $122. (I purchased my home in October but was unable to move in until December.) Shortly thereafter the City Water Department turned off my water to the sprinkler system at the street level. The violation (a warning) stated that I had a leak and that I had ten days to fix it. I called Andy's Sprinkler because the company had received good reviews on Angie's List. Additionally, my sprinkler system had been installed by Andy's Sprinkler. I thought I couldn't lose. The technician came on time. I learned that the company prided itself on being on time. However well it started, it went South from there. My sprinkler system was an older model. Although it was a company model, the technician was unfamiliar with it. The technician didn't listen to me. I told him I had two control boxes and that I thought the problem was with the second station near the pool. He dismissed my comment and told me I only had one station. He then continued to walk around my house looking for wet spots. When he didn't find any wet spots, I brought him over to my second unit and showed him. He acknowledged my second unit then claimed that my leak was under my deck and that to fix it, he'd need to demolish my deck and charge me a minimum of $1500, not including the cost for rebuilding the deck. A week or so later, when I had to add water to my pool, I turned on the water at the street and found my leak. The sprinkler system was turned off when I turned the water valve on, but when I came into the yard, I found that one of my stations was fully operational. Water was spraying everywhere. I checked and the system was still pointed to 'Off'. Because I had not been at my home, I hadn't observed that the water from this station ran constantly even if the sprinkler unit was turned off. Andy's Sprinkler charged me $145. The technician didn't detect the leak, nor did he fix it. I may or may not have a leak under my deck. I do not trust the technician's judgement. The experience made me feel as if the technician just made up the under deck leak so he could charge me and be on his way. I will have another company look into the technician's claims. I would not recommend the company.

We have 6 zones on our sprinkler system and one day a few months ago I noticed some of the sprinkler heads on zone 1 were leaking water. The leaking water was not gushing out of the heads but was a constant dribble and eventually pooled in a 2 ft. area in the flower bed and was noticeable on the sidewalk at times. After checking the control valves I noticed one was full of water and figured the valve had failed and was not closing. I also had a zone that had not been working for some time and wanted that issue looked at as well. We called 3 different companies on Angie's List and decided to have Andy's come out due to their professionalism and thorough follow up (others quoted prices over the phone and I've seldom had a good experience w/ companies who give estimates this way). Luis from Andy's came out and spoke with my wife about how their estimate pricing worked: $95.00/hr. for labor + parts and materials needed to fix the repair and the clock starts ticking as soon as Andy's gets to your home. I thought this could have been explained a little better to me over the phone as I was under the impression estimates were free but as Luis clarified to me over the phone after he arrived at the house estimates on new systems were no charge but repair estimates were $95.00/hr. Luis quickly found which valve was faulty and was causing the heads in the flower bed to constantly leak and replaced the valve with a new one. Luis then started looking for the issue causing zone 6 not to come on and determined that some of the wiring connections had simply worked themselves loose and only needed to be reconnected. Reconnecting wires fixed the problem and Luis didn't even charge us for for any parts or materials. All the repairs took 1.25 hours to find and complete and my wife and I even received $10.00 off repairs due to mentioning the Angie's List coupon. I would definitely use Andy's again and refer them to others.
