I was very happy with the work Agape did. The work included replacing the countertop, sink, and backsplash. They were very courteous and professional, start to finish. They did a great job keeping the area clean and neat and were respectful of our home. I love the end product. I will definitely give them a call for future work.
Nick and Eric did the work, and they were awesome. Unparalleled attention to detail; daily clean up; they were always on time, said what they were going to do and did what they said they would. The quote process was equally awesome. Jeff was quite helpful, as was Delaina who did the scheduling. I can be a difficult customer when it comes to contracts but the team at Agape took it in stride. You can tell this is a high quality family business with family values. They work to make satisfied customers. If you are in the market to remodel, I would urge you to contact Agape.
Description of Work: We initially hired Agape to remodel our master bath, and they were so good we immediately hired them to do the powder room.

I am totally satisfied. The crew was neat and they kept their work area clean. They were quiet - no loud music blaring. They were on time and did great work. They were personable and professional. The total cost matched their bid. I am very pleased with the quality of the work. I will use them again - no need to contact other companies for bids.

We were extremely pleased with the whole process from start to finish. They have a finely-tuned system that works very well, from providing the estimate to finishing up any punch list items. The crew left the job clean every day, were quiet and respectful of our home, did a fantastic job, and finished on time. They weren't the cheapest bid but not the most expensive either. We will definitely use them again. I can highly recommend them!

While everyone at Agape was great to work with, Nick and Erik were in our home most often. They absolutely wonderful to work with-- always punctual, communicative, and kind. The quality of their workmanship shows as everything in the bathroom is impeccable. Very detail orientated, down to the cleaning after the remodel was done. I just really can't speak highly enough. Further down the line, when it comes time to redo our kitchen, I'm certain we will be looking to Agape!

This customer was such a pleasure to work with and we really enjoyed helping him with his beautiful new Master Bathroom. We hope you enjoy your new Master Bathroom for years to come!!
I found Agape on Angie's List as well as another service provider and gave them both a call. Both were very responsive but Jeff Watkins from Agape was so knowledgeable and based on info I could find on them customers loved them. Jeff was out and gave me a couple possible causes for our hardwood floor in the closet buckling and the tile on the door jam causing the glass shower door to scrape. A possible leak behind the wall where the faucets are and/or the shower pan leaking. I was also impressed by the fact that they don't use contractors and all the workers are employed by Agape. Jeff said they would start by going into the wall from inside our closet to check the plumbing. When the worker arrived he created an opening and turned on the shower. There was the culprit!!! The people that remodeled our bathroom had failed to seal the fixtures and water was splashing on the fixtures and running down the backside of the wall. Agape sent out a worker who re-set new tile and sealed the fixtures. Closed up the opening in the closet wall with a panel that is easy to open and close. So instead of a huge bill we got off minimally. These people are the real deal, courteous, professional, punctual, and above board.

We have used Agape Home Services for two previous, major projects. It has been a few years since our last project but what we found is that Agape has continued to improve their process to ensure client satisfaction. They put together a project workbook with step-by-step check-list to ensure a successful outcome. This project was a jack and jill bath remodel. The entire bathroom was gutted. Agape performed the following: - removed existing cabinets/sinks/mirrors/floor tiles and bathtub, - replaced regular door between the vanity and shower with a pocket door to regain space, - installed new shower, retiled from floor to ceiling, installed frameless glass shower, - installed new vanity, mirrors, lights and repainted all exposed wall, - installed porcelain floor tiles The work performed was all top notch but what makes Agape special was the guidance, recommendations for options and the attention to detail. We were provided guidance, options and recommendations for every option and choice. This was incredibly helpful and comforting. We bought a pre-built vanity. It was very nice but did not fit perfectly. Mike made a custom tile wall extension to make it look very nice - like the vanity was a perfect fit. It made all the difference and it was his idea, design and execution that made the difference. We highly recommend Agape!

I can't express enough what a phenomenal company Agape Home Services is. They wowed us from our first consultation and continued to wow us through the whole process. They are professional, friendly, thoughtful and go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. Jeff did a great job understanding our vision for our kitchen and translating it into a game plan, Delaina was awesome walking us through the contracts and answering questions, and Alex was quite possibly the best project lead that ever existed. He has an eye for detail and made sure everything was done right. The quality and craftsmanship of the team was bar none the best! We would absolutely use them again for other projects!

The shelving unit addition and fireplace white wash is perfect. I met with the cabinet maker and he designed a unit to meet all my requests. Mike and Joe from Agape were outstanding. They arrived on time each day, carefully kept the work area well protected and cleaned at the end of each day. It turned out I was unable to convert the venting system due to the size of my existing cabinets. Mike provided the dimensions that would fit the area but we were unable to find a vent system that would accommodate the dimensions. Mike remounted the existing system with a smile. I was extremely happy with the final products and the courtesy extended by Mike and Joe. This is the second time I have used Agape for updating my home. I highly recommend them, especially Mike, Joe and Jeff.
Description of Work: I had a built-in shelving unit (ceiling to floor) added in my living room and I had my fireplace "white washed". The project included replacing my current kitchen venting system from a recirculating to an outside vent.
This is our 2nd time to use Agape and we chose them due to this fact. We know they do good work and take pride in the work they do. Nick and Eric were assigned to to do the work for us. Eric had worked on our house the 1st time and knew us. Nick was new to us, but we hit the jackpot with them both! They showed up when they said they would and left only when the day was done to their satisfaction. Both gentlemen communicating very well throughout the project and were able to get the job done a week earlier than planned. These employees are not subcontractors and I believe that made a huge difference. I would highly recommend asking for them specifically for your job, you will not be disappointed! They do, however, have some subcontractors they use for other jobs and I will address them individually below: Cabinets - A -this is a subcontractor and he did an excellent job on our custom cabinets. He is a little close minded, but in the end Agape helped us all reach a satisfactory decision about a shelf I wanted. Cabinet painter - A+++++ The painter was outstanding and his work was beautiful. It was definitely worth the smell and hotel room to see the final results. Carpet - D- I can not give this subcontractor a recommendation. Taha came to measure our house before the work got started and then once he was getting scheduled to come install the carpet he claimed he had to come back to measure again. This concerned me because he had already given me the sq footage to order the carpet and padding. He then proceeded to tell me that the extra furniture would be difficult and I assured him we would move everything but a few really heavy pieces downstairs to make things go smoother. Did he not see the furniture when he was here the first time? We spend hours doing this move for him and his crew. On the day he was to start I received a call from Agape saying he couldn't be there until 11am. I had told him I wanted it done in a day and so this late start concerned me again. He and his crew showed up at 11am and then at noon several took a lunch break. They ended up staying until 9:20pm that night and I was not happy about that because I had to get my 10 year old to bed because it was a school night. The carpet looked great, until I noticed a section in the master bedroom that had a line break or seam. He had not measured correctly as I had thought. He was asked to come back and he sent an employee who blamed Taha and said he didn't measure the room correctly and tried to fix it as best he could. Taha was then called back out to our house to measure for more carpet to replace the section, he came and then asked to borrow my tape measure and blamed the employee for this mistake. Bottom line, please make sure Agape is not using Taha for carpets any longer, otherwise go directly to NEBRASKA FURNITURE (or anywhere) and have them do the install. It's not worth the extra time or money for this subcontractor. All in all this was a good experience and I highly recommend Agape for all other services.

I am updating a previous review which was negative and rebutted with a lie by this provider. I think 4 years later it’s important to note that the tile work they did in my shower needs to be redone at a significant cost to me because of rot and mold that has developed under the tile in the sill on the shower. The experience with Agape continues to be the worst contractor experience I’ve ever had.

Excellent workmanship. Nick and Eric are first class professionals. Competent, quick, quality oriented, and polite. Two other craftsmen worked for a day or two to insure that we always had full bathroom usage in 1 bathroom. Jeff, Jerry, and Becky are excellent people to work with. The price was fair. It was not the low bid nor the high bid, but previous experience with AGAPE and their "living up to their name" made the whole project worthwhile.

We decided to fully remodel our 1970's kitchen. When I contacted Agape, Jerry came to visit. He gave a strong presentation and seemed excited about the project. He gave us a very fair quote for the job. We could have gone cheaper but am very glad we didnt. The Agape team was great and the finished project is a "magazine Kitchen". Agape uses a "Team per job" model, so we worked with the same people through the entire process. I got to know them pretty well, and we worked together very well. Heck, even the dogs liked them. Becky (Jerry's mom) is their "go to" designer and she was fantastic! She helped us through the always difficult (for us) process of selecting colors and finishes. Everyone at Agape was very easy to work with and were always up beat. As in any project like this, there were some changes and issues, but Jerry and team handled them without complaint and even exceeded my expectations often. All in all, I couldn't be happier with Agape and do highly recommend them for this type of work. Excellent experience.

We were looking to replace the siding on our home. Our first choice was to use Hardie Board. We found Agape to be very reasonable and they did a wonderful job. Everyone from Jeff in Sales, to Delaina, who we'll call the Administrative Assistant (but everyone knows she keeps the ship afloat!!), to Jerry, who oversees the crews, to the guys on the our actual crew. Since the most day to day contact we had was with the crews let me give input about them. They were responsive to any concern we might have, answered any questions, even redid some work that we preferred to be done a different way (aesthetically). Done to the very end when they were painting the siding they took great care to tape and protect our doors and window by sealing off the house. I was impressed!!. Our next home improvement is the bathroom and Agape will be our first phone call!!!

This customer was so very easy to work with. She knew what she wanted and we helped with ordering her tile. Very pleasant and professional lady. thank you for choosing us.
Having worked as a trim carpenter, I have a very critical eye for detail. I have seen some of the demos and remods from some of top Dallas companies and I was skeptical that I could find a company that would measure up to my standards. Based upon a recommendation from a close friend and remodeling reviews on Agape Home Services I decided to have AHS remodel our kitchen, nook and guest bath. The results were all that I had hoped for and more. They had a very difficult transition between our breakfast nook and kitchen (see photos) removing a wing wall and fur down that separated the two and blended the two ceilings and wall surfaces flawlessly. I am extremely impressed with the quality of work and the professionalism exhibited by everyone doing the work on the job, their office personnel on scheduling and billing and Becky's guidance on materials and decorating are all an A+++. The only way I could figure someone would give this company a less than stellar rating is not knowing or having experience in the remodeling industry or they're just a whiner, whereas no company could ever satisfy them. So if you're looking for guaranteed satisfaction for your remodeling needs you won't be disappointed. Next on the list for us is our family room, master bedroom and bath and we can't wait to get started.

These customers were really proactive and knew what their vision was. Very easy to work with and we so appreciate their trust in opening their home to us. Awesome results! We want to thank you for the opportunity.
The short story - read below for the details. First contact is like a honeymoon. Smiles and promises abound. The actuality is that we paid A+ money for, at best, a C- to D+ job. Avoid at all costs. The negotiations were straightforward and fun. I asked (and was assured) that we were getting an A+ job. The phrase 'we are perfectionists' was bandied about as a fact. I stressed this point as I didn't mind paying over $30,000 in labor costs as long as we got a beautiful, nearly perfect set of bathrooms. The first indication of problems appeared when, after much research, I found I could save 40-50% ordering the bathroom fixtures online. They hemmed and hawed and stipulated that I needed to have 100% of the items IN MY HOUSE 2 weeks prior to construction start. I agreed and started ordering and indeed did have EVERYTHING in my house not 2, but 4 weeks before project start. Apparently Becky taking the customer 'shopping' at her high end fixture stores is a big part of the experience (and profit). Still, we received and signed a contract for about $32,000. I received a call from Jerry (Mr Becky) about 3 weeks before the project and after I had ordered/paid for $12,000 in fixtures/tubs/sinks/toilets/bidets/etc that I was sending way too many emails (installation info on the arts) and seemed like I was way out of line in wanting to be closely involved in the details of the project. They just weren't sure they wanted to do the job (contract was already signed). They just didn't think they could 'make me happy'. I should have said fine, but (for reasons I will always regret) I didn't. Jerry didn't want to be held too closely to the claim of being a perfectionist. He actually said that if something wasn't done right, they would tear it out and redo it - (that will be the day). Don't expect it to actually happen if something is wrong. We got past that and construction started. Master bath - Things went fine but I noticed that it didn't seem welcome when I pointed out things like a wall outlet in the wrong place. They seemed to want to wait until after taping/bedding/texturing/painting for me to point it out. I know why now - because at that point it ain't going to move. First bathroom they seemed real concerned about schedule over quality. Like tiling the master tub enclosure BEFORE the granite surround is laid on the tub. This caused the granite installer to cut our surround and leave a seam at one end. It also caused the granite to be improperly cut so that the overhang varies noticeably from one side to the other at the end of the tub. Like not making sure the wall is actually flat behind a deco strip so that it dips in noticeably at one end. Like not putting the hardening agent in the floor tile grout so that if you try to clean the grout with a brush, it removes grout. Like cutting all the way through the bathroom wall into a closet and tearing clothes hanging there (a fact we didn't notice until we pulled the clothes out to wear them weeks later). Like refusing to insulate behind a medicine cabinet against an outside wall even after I asked to do so. I did this myself after the fact because the temps in the cabinet would hit the low 40's on cold days and upper 80's on hot days, effectively destroying medicines in the cabinet. I must say though that one of the guys (Alex) was great and that if he had done the whole job we might have been much happier. Guest bath - Like cutting the hole for the sink in the granite too far to the front even after knowing that both bathrooms had IDENTICAL SINKS AND CLEARANCES. Like not taping and bedding the wall where they replaced the usual door with a sliding door. I had to fix that one myself. Like leaving the hardener out of the floor grout here too. Like cutting the granite for the shower seat so that the overhang is WAY different from side to side. Like cabinets where there are exposed sharp pieces of metal that tear towels. Like using a threaded PVC fitting to connect to a rubber hose so that it didn't leak for several months. I found this leak where our A/C overflow connects to plumbing and fixed it myself properly. The grout/caulk between the shower seat and the tile on the wall has cracked and is coming out as I write this. It appears to have been thinly and quickly applied. I will be fixing this tomorrow after the area dries out. The shower seat does not drain properly because the granite seat is not correctly levelled. They did offer to 'pop it up' and reseat the piece but by this time I didn't want anything more to do with them. I was afraid they would cause more damage than they would correct. They also consider your bathroom finished BEFORE the shower glass is installed because they can request their final check. Jerry (remember Mr Becky?) threatened to back out and leave us with a half finished bathroom during the guest bathroom phase. Seems me wanting the 'perfection' they tout was getting to him. Common to both bathrooms - Agape requires that you use their custom cabinet manufacturer. The cabinets are very nice, just not worth what they cost you when you could simply get pre-made cabinets (mid level quality). The hardware is nice, but not as heavy as the same mid level pre-made we have in our kitchen. Due to the hurry to finish (once again) the cabinets needed the urethane applied AFTER they were installed. The painters did a great job (see below) but you still have to live with a STRONG mineral spirits smell in your house for 2 days. And they COST MORE and provide nothing but bragging rights to say 'we have custom cabinets'. And you will find that when you order the cabinets, you will ALWAYS get the standard dimension cabinets unless you really want to spend a lot. When Agape goes to Home Depot to get the common things like the sliding doors we requested, they will ALWAYS return with the CHEAPEST CONTRACTOR ITEM IN THE STORE. They will NOT let you go with them to choose a more expensive one. Gotta keep costs down (theirs, not yours). What Agape wants is customers that will let them do what they want and then applaud the result, no matter what. Jerry as much as said so several times. Say anything except 'that's wrong'. We actually had the nerve to call them out on the problems (granite cut wrong, sink too far forward, shower seat). What we go was Becky (smile now completely absent) walking through our house using a cell phone camera to take pictures that they would examine. And then to write everything off as 'within acceptable limits'. Allow me to provide you with the Agape excuse list for anything you deem wrong. 1) employee terminally ill 2) employee now terminated due to poor job performance 3) ground shifts in Texas (even if the ground under your house only shifts where they worked) 4) within acceptable limits 5) unable to please customer (you are just TOO PICKY - even after claiming to be perfectionists) One and only one shining, perfect area - the guy that installed the shower glass. He is NOT an Agape employee and I have lost his card but he is a fine Christian gentleman that actually stands 100% behind his guarantee. One very good area - the guys that sprayed the urethane on our cabinets. They also are NOT Agape employees but rather independent contractors. A-1 Painting can be trusted.

Response from Agape Home Services
This customer's job was completed in 2013, which is over 3 and half years ago, so it does not give an accurate representation of how our business operates today. We take pride in keeping track of all our customers in order to provide the best service. After corresponding with the customer through hundreds of emails and consistent multiple phone calls, we communicated that we would inform them on any issue or question as it arises in order to complete the work in a timely and efficient manner. I deeply regret the insinuations of excuses, but we did have a tragic event occur that year, and one of our finest employees with a terminal illness (cancer) passed away. To address the other concerns in the review, we do not require our customers to shop for their materials at our suppliers/vendors, but only offer that as a convenience, nor do we require our customers to use our custom cabinet maker, that is also a service. We strive to please all our customers in every way possible and to do our very best, so part of that comes with recommending, in our professional opinion, the materials that best suit the project and are convenient for the customer's choice of shopping. I have photos I can provide of the finished project and can share these with any Angie's List member upon request. Our multiple "A" reviews speak for themselves and unfortunately, you cannot please every customer
Excellent work and services. I was very concerned about hiring a company to complete the remodeling of my two bathrooms because this was the first time I have needed this type of work done and I have heard so many horrible stories about various companies. I was amazed at how well this project went. Jeff, Becky, Gary, David, Nick, Jerry and Andy all were wonderful to work with. They answered all my questions all the time and were very professional. I highly suggest you use Becky to assist you with your design. I relied on her very much to put the protect together and direct me through the maze of things to be done and decisions to be made. The entire team was very knowledgeable and I worried for nothing. I look forward to the next kitchen and bathroom remodel with them.
