After a diy attempt I needed somebody to come in and fix my shower. When Roger came by and we decided on the tile design and I was provided a quote I begin shopping for tile. After looking at pictures I changed my mind, 2 or 3 times but Becky didn't mind at all and she kept adjusting the quote and the tile amounts each time without complaint. I decided on a 12 X 12 diagonal pattern throughout the shower with a border of speciality tiles inside of the bullnose tiles. I wanted the pattern to continue around the tub area and even on the tub facing. Roger and Eric arrived everyday at the expected time, worked diligently, keeping me informed each time they encountered something that might need a judgement call.  At the end of each day Roger would give me a progress report, indicate where they were at in the project and tell me if they were on schedule, when they would return etc.  Each time I would look at the bathroom I was always pleased and amazed at the quality of workmanship.  They ALWAYS went the extra mile to make a difficult part of the job look impeccable.  My new shower and tub surround is absolutely beautiful and everyone who sees it thinks so.

I had two contractors that I had gotten an estimate from, Agape and another contractor that I had used before.  Agape's bid was for $500 to $700 less than the other contractor.  Since I'd seen Agape's "A" rating, I went with them.  Right before they were to start, Becky called me to say that she had forgotten to add $450 for supplies.  Looking back, I should have cancelled their service at that time but I gave them the benefit of the doubt.  The projected timeline was a week and a half tops.  So Dean came on Monday 4/16 and did the tear out of the the tub and tile.  The next day he went to Home Depot and picked up my new tub.  He called me at work all anxious saying that he was going to have to build up the wall up around the tub or I needed to get another tub (any delay on my part would cost me).  So I came home during lunch that day and, basically, I solved the problem so that I didn't have to take the tub back and wait another week to get the new tub plus I still was able to keep the space that wouldn't be there with the wall build up.  I got charged another $370 for a work order change.   So Dean took Tuesday, Wednesday, and part of Thursday to finish installing the tub and the board up the walls around the tub.  I took off work Thurday afternoon to watch them tile.  They brought in a new guy, Willie, which had never worked for them prior to my project.  He started on the the back tub wall.  If I hadn't been there to say something, Willie would have put the decor scrip in line with my showerhead which I had requested it to be below the showerhead (it was in work order).  Also, there was a lot of bad communication between Willie and Dean when Willie sent Dean to cut a tile.  I think more tile was used than was needed due to bad cuts.  Fri I went to work.  When I got home and saw the progress and the work I almost cried.  They hadn't gotten very far (Willie had to take smoke breaks) and some of the bullnose that was done was chipped or not done well.  Also, this was day two that my outdoor water was left on.  I called Becky.  Week 2 - Monday Becky came out with Dean.  It was decided that Dean would contunue with the tile.  Dean did the floor tile on Mon. (EZ also came Monday with his team to build the wall for the storage space.  The wall was built, sheetrocked, taped, textured, and painted by Tuesday - EZ is truly a gem!)  When I came home from work on Tuesday, the bathtub tile had not only been finished but what was done was sloppy.  I called Becky again and also spoke with Jerry.  Wednesday, Jerry and Becky came out to look at the work.  Jerry agreed with me that the work was below par and he would have Roger pulled from another job to come on Thurday to fix and complete the work.  Dean came that day to do the floor board that I have been charged an extra $170 (another change order).  He reused some floor board and put up broken trim around door and painted it.  Again I called Jerry.  Thursday, Roger came out and spent all day fixing Willie's and Dean's work.  He was nice, diligent and hard working.  I wished I had him from day 1.  Friday he finished the tile and put the grout down, redid the floorboard and the trim around the door.  He also moved the door knobs on my closet bi-fold doors which I hadn't asked for causing them to not look right.  Monday 4/30 he finished sealing the grout.  I called Jerry to see if he could get me new bi-fold doors at a good price and put them up.  I had nice raised paneled doors.  Becky emailed me Tuesday with a bid for special ordered flush (no paneled) doors.  When I read the email, my thoughts were that they didn't want to get the nice doors from the home depot store and spend the time to trim them up to fit like my contracter did 10 years ago.  I'm getting someone else to do the new bi-fold doors.  With an Angie's list  "A" rating, I expected the work to be done with minor errors the first time around and to be done timely within reason.  What I got was a project that went way past the projected timeline because of sloppy work that had to be repaired and redone, in some cases, more than once.  Also when I asked to get updated on progress, I either didn't get a call or it was delayed somewhat.   Am I happy with the finished work?  It is OK . . . I think if I had gone with the other contractor I would be happier.  Right now I just have a bad taste in my mouth from the experience.  If you decide to work with Agape, request Roger and EZ to do the work.

WOW! That is one word that expresses my experience with Agape Home Services. New to the area, I chose Agape Home services for a remodel job based on recommendations on "Angie's List". I was not dissappointed. Communication, scheduling, and quality of work were fantastic. They always listened to my ideas to incorporate them into the project. They covered furniture and rugs and cleaned at the end of each day. In the end, they did not consider the job complete until we signed off and approved of the work. I would recommend for your next project!

Agape Home Services were requested to bid out the job along  with two other groups.     I  decided  to not only  get a new shower built, but  upgrade the rest of the room.  I can't express how grateful I was to locate a company that truly cared about me and what I wanted and was so appreciative of the contest communication and their ability to be flexible if I decided to change something midstream.I hope to remodel my kitchen in the future and will only call Becky at Agape Home Services!

I was very impressed with the professionalism, friendliness and helpfulness of the Agape team.  I really took my time deciding on a contractor, (I got 6 estimates!!)  not only trying to find the right price, but also someone I truly felt comfortable with. Of all the estimates I got ,Becky was the most thorough with measurements and taking pictures to give the most accurate estimate.   Pricewise, Agape came in right in the middle.  The finished project was within three hundred dollars of the estimate due to an unforseen electical issue and a slight increase in the granite order.  Becky met me at the granite warehouse to choose the slab of granite and helped with picking out the backsplash tile.  Once the project was underway, she checked in regularly to make sure everything was staying on track and that we were happy with the work being performed.  Any questions or concerns we had were answered and adressed promptly. The guys working on the project were super friendly and so easy to communicate with.  The best part was that the project was completed in 11 business days.  The most time consuming was the painting of the cabinets due to all the prep work needed.  On completion of the project, any issues we had with the quality of the work were addressed and fixed immediately.  There was a little overspray from the cabinet painting on the celing and some paint came off the ceiling when tape was removed, but the guys came back the next day and touched up everything.   This is definitely a company that takes its customer service seriously!  I have already recommended Agape to a friend and would consider using them again for future projects.

They do a little bit of everything, but they do a really good job.  That gave me a fair price.  They are neither least expensive nor most expensive.  They are somewhere in the middle.  I was really pleased.  I was in Texas and it was a big deal if the people that came to my house spoke English and they did.  I haven't had a need for anybody since.  At the time I compared their price with some other contractors and their price range was in the mid price range for the area.  One would get quality and reliability.  I would tell people that they were very easy to work with.  They gave me a line item estimate from the beginning which is rare.  I liked them so I could tell what was going on.  I forgot an item and they added it on and then they came back right away and gave me a good price without any problem.  I would actually do business with them again.  I still have some more cosmetic work to be done in the house and they are the people I'm going to call.

This is a great company to work with and they do beautiful work! They set appointments and keep them. They came to my home and took plenty of time to talk through each of the projects on my list. The cabinet maker/carpenter discussed my vision for my bench seating in detail with me as well as used pictures I had emailed to construct building plans prior to starting the project. They were fine with me supplying materials and were very helpful in assisting me with amounts needed (ie. tile count, grout in lbs., etc). They were extremely neat in their work -before, during, and after. They provided a professionally written contract and the individual subcontractors kept a copy of the contract/work order with them each day. The managment personnel called each evening to check  on the day's progress and to make sure that I was pleased with the work. They fixed some difficult messes that preceding contractors had left and they did so without disparaging remarks. They always exhibited a "can do" attitude as they worked through my difficult appliance installation issues. After a lengthy and painful kitchen remodel, one thing that stood out the most was that they didn't "stock pile". That's what I call it when "one thing leads to another and another, and on and on".They followed the preset list without pressure to add items. Though I knew they wanted additional work, sticking to the list gave me a sense accomplishment and THAT is what has made me call on them again.

Agape was great at scheduling and keeping us update on the start date for the project.  The project took a day longer than planned.  Jerry did a great job keeping the house clean by using plastic draping during demo as well as construction. The project went well.  The only issue we had was during finish out.  Since he had only worked on part of the wall, he had to texture to match the rest of the wall.  Since we had a custom texture job, it was a difficult process and in the end he called in a third person to finish for the 4th time.  In the end, he are happy with the final product.  We would use Jerry again.

We had three companies bid on the work, and Agape was right in the middle with their bid.  We chose Agape for several reasons.  First, we were very impressed with the level of communication we received, both from Jerry and Becky.  We had a less than satisfactory experience with the foundation company regarding communication, so this really stood out (side note - the outstanding communication continued through, and past, completion of the project).  Second, we liked the ideas that Jerry shared when he was at our home, and particularly liked that he wanted to be hands-on, especially for the bathroom.  It was easy to see that he truly cares about the results of their work.  Third, even before we chose them, Jerry and Becky shared several sources for materials, all of which proved to be outstanding resources offering very competitive pricing and great selection (another side note - we went with Pittman Plumbing for all the bathroom materials and ProSource for all flooring and tile - both were wonderful to work with).

We asked Jerry to submit a bid that broke the work down to separate components, which he did.  His bid was very detailed, easy to follow, and explained all work to be performed in such a way that we understood fully what was to be done.  One important note that I didn't think about initially...the bid was for labor and OBVIOUS materials only; it did not include tub, tile, flooring, paint, etc.  Makes perfect sense, especially now that I see how many more options are available than what I had seen at the local home improvement stores!  We did ask for a guestimate of materials cost based on general guidelines we provided and Jerry's past experience.  As it turned out, this estimate was right on the money as far as cost per sq. ft. for specific materials.

Once we informed Agape that we wanted to contract with them, they gave us an estimated start date and approximate time to completion.  We had some time constraints for completion, and their estimate fell within these deadlines.  They started right on time, and despite running into several "surprises" along the way, completed the work within the time allotted.

I should have mentioned that this work (foundation and repair) was all being done as part of us moving to Austin.  Because of the number and location of piers in the foundation work and our plans to move anyway, we actually "moved out" of the house prior to the foundation work, putting most of our belongings in storage and taking some things with us to an apartment close by.  This actually proved to be a genius move...living through a remodel is tough enough, but through foundation work...no way.  In any case, I think having the home vacant really helped Agape, as they didn't have to try and work around our daily lives.

The work started on June 13, right on schedule.  Initially Steve, Eric and Jason were the three guys working on our home.  They were all three extremely respectful, courteous and professional.  All three exhibited a strong knowledge of the work being done, and we were overall happy with the results as the project moved along.  Although we were not living in the home, I did go by the house pretty much daily to check on status and how things were looking.  Typically I did this later in the day, trying to stay out of the way as much as possible.  I did catch a few minor things that needed attention, but overall found the guys to be very thorough.  The only thing of any significance related to the bathroom.  In the bathroom, the tub, shower and vanity were all matching cultured marble.  We had the tub and shower replaced, but due to financial constraints decided not to replace the vanity at this time.  One evening I went by, only to find the vanity with the rest of the materials taken out of the bathroom.  Actually makes sense...it would stand to reason that if we were replacing the tub and shower, the old vanity, made of the same material, would also come out.  Anyway, I contacted Jerry that evening, and went by the next day to find the vanity back in place, looking like it had never gone anywhere.  Overall, no big deal.

After the first week, Jerry was on site quite a bit, and after two weeks two other gentlemen were also on the project...Roger, and I apologize, but I cannot recall the other person's name.  Of particular note, those two had obviously worked a lot together, as they did outstanding work, particularly in the bathroom.

Okay...two other notes before I get to the end.  First, Steve and Jerry both gave us wonderful ideas on things we could do that would add unique touches to the finished product, both of which turned out to be awesome.  Steve had a great idea on how to do some of the flooring and was very proactive in asking questions and getting information before proceeding, and Jerry offered ideas on the tub and shower enclosures that turned out to really add to the finished look.  Second thing...I mentioned several "surprises" above.  There were a few things that turned up as the project went along.  For the most part, these were things nobody short of Superman with his x-ray vision could have seen.  One was the back windows.  We had done a less than stellar job of sealing around the back windows, which allowed water to get in and cause damage to some of the woodwork.  This in turn caused leaking into the home.  What a blessing that God sent a monster rain storm (remenber that storm as we go through this unbelievable heat wave) while the guys were at the house.  Had that not happened, we wouldn't have found out about the leaking until well after the fact...when it would have ruined the wood flooring.  Another example was some of the less than wonderful wiring done when the house was first built.  In both cases Agape did the necessary repairs with minimal effect on the finish date.  There was additional expense as a result, but that wasn't a surprise.  We fully expected to find some things, so were prepared for that eventuality.  Overall, the "surprises" along with a few additional things we asked Jerry to do added about $3,000 to the final labor cost.  It's very important to mention that the additional cost was fine and in no way a "miss" on Agape's part.  These were all things that, as I said above, we would have no way of knowing about beforehand (they were basically "hidden" problems), and were all things that had to be corrected.

Okay...the project is now complete, and the only thing I can say is WOW.  With the exception of some things we did not address at this time (exterior paint and landscaping, replacing lighting, basic exterior concrete work) the home looks amazing...it looks like a new house, not one built in 1986.  I wish I could post pictures on here, it looks so good.  Most amazing of all, the bathroom looks like it belongs in a full service spa!  Part of that credit goes to our son and daughter-in-law, as they chose the tile and fixtures and did something really unique with the trim in the shower, but Jerry and the guys put it all together, and they did an absolutely amazing job.

I'm sure there are some things I've missed in my detailed story, but let me just say that Becky, Jerry and all the guys associated with Agape did an incredible job on our home.  In all phases of this project, we found them, without exception, to be courteous, thorough, knowledgeable, excellent communicators, and understanding of our needs relating to time and cost.  Their work is high, high, high quality.  I should also mention that their bid (and materials estimate), were both right on...other than the structural surprises we found, they did a wonderful and thorough job on the bid.&

The Agape team, Jerry, Becky, Roger and everyone else were great to work with.  We had a small bathroom remodel done.  I appreciated that they were prompt and arrived when they said they would.  They kept the work area clean, even on "demo" day.  They communicated well with me from start to finish.  I added a few requests to the job and they handled those with ease, with just a quick new work order filled out, so we were both on the same page about the changes.  I love my new bathroom and so does everyone else that sees it.  I will definitely call them again for other jobs.

Agape did a great job.  It is unusual and wonderful to find a company with such a high level of customer service.  The quality of their work was excellent, and they actively sought out my feedback to make sure I was happy with their work.  They were respectful of me and my home, putting plastic down to protect my carpets and working quietly.

There were no big surprises during the course of the project (which is a good thing!).  In order to save money and use some materials we already had, they allowed us to supply some materials (tile, trim and wall paint, light fixtures, cabinet hinges) while they supplied other materials (boards for under the tile, moulding, cabinet paint and primer, etc.).  Prior to beginning the project, Jerry sat down with us to discuss what we needed to get and how much, and what they would be supplying.  During the course of the project they checked on my satisfaction with their progress and their work, and if I found things to be fixed (for example, touching up paint), they took care of it promptly.  Before wrapping up the project, they made sure we were happy with everything they did.

Working with Agape was a very positive experience.

I have a house that I lived in and then had a lease purchase on the property. That fell thru and the house was left in a state that was overwhelming to me and I was fearful of the task in front of me to get the repairs done to get it ready to sell. The experiences I have had with contractors previously, even those contractors with A ratings on Angie?s list, have not been of the quality that I would call any of them back. I got bids from three contractors, one of them being Jerry with Agape Home Services. His bid was not the lowest of the three bids but after thought and prayer, I felt I could trust Agape to be honest and do the best work. That proved to be true and I am so thankful that I did choose Agape Home Services. Jerry and his crew were so attentive to the large and the smallest details to make sure everything was done perfectly. Throughout the project, they were always checking with me to make sure everything was being done the way I wanted. They went over and above my expectations by giving me options that were better than what I had in mind and had ideas on ways to save me money. I am grateful that they cared enough about me and took pride in their work to take time to help with these things. Becky and Jerry both were so helpful in helping me select the appliances and counter tops and ceramic tile and bathroom lights and towel bars and colors, etc. I can?t imagine what I would have done if I had a contractor who told me that I had to go do that all on my own with no assistance. Becky has that special talent of picking colors and making everything look classy. The tenants had painted the utility room cabinets and they were a real mess. Agape refinished those cabinets. Some of the other cabinets had marks and issues. I decided that all the cabinets in the house needed to be refinished, and there were a lot of cabinets. They knew I was watching the bottom line and kept telling me that would be a lot of money. It was heart warming to know that they actually cared for the client. I watched the many steps they took to refinish the cabinets and the attention to the smallest details they took to make sure everything was done right. I was impressed. I can honestly say that the cabinets look better now after they refinished them than when we had the house built new. The cabinets are beautiful. They did excellent work. The house had so many dents and dings and bad spots on the walls that it looked bad. I know I wouldn?t have wanted to buy a house the way it looked. They went thru and fixed every hole and dent and ding and matched the wall paint perfectly to where you couldn?t see where they had fixed the places. They painted all the door casings and baseboards and crown moldings (that the tenants had gotten wall paint on) and painted all the doors because many of them were scuffed up with scratches and marks on them. Some pieces of the baseboards were missing and they got baseboards to match and fixed these places. I know this is such detailed work and it now looks like a new house. There were weeds nearly waist high in some of the flowerbeds and in other places the plants were dead. I was surprised and so pleased to see on Angie?s list that Agape Home Services also does Landscaping. I explained to them that I didn?t want to spend a lot of money but that I needed it to look good and get rid of all the weeds. Becky planned the project and the guys did the work. It was a transformation that made such a huge difference in the curb appeal of the house. The back and sides of the house are pretty too. As they were still working inside the house, they kept checking the plants to make sure they were all doing well. Again, I was so grateful for their attention to details and their willingness to help me. Through the whole project of old things going out and new things coming in, the house was kept clean and I never saw any trash left from day to day. This was so unlike previous projects I have had done that was not this complicated and didn?t take this much time. As the job progressed, we kept finding more things that needed fixing. I remember the day I said ?Oh my, the tenants took the towel bars and the toilet paper holders.? They took all of these ?surprises? in stride and Jerry?s smile would help me move on. He never complained that the list of things to do kept getting longer. They made this daunting experience so much easier for me and I enjoyed seeing them when I went there to see how things were going. Jerry, Becky and the guys became like family over the weeks that they were helping me. They are all so very nice and they were always happy and pleasant to be with. This is one time that what they say about themselves is true. Go to their webpage and read what they say "About Us" and take it to heart. I found every word to be true. I will never have to look for a contractor again. I just wish I had found them a long time ago. I bought a new house two years ago and had several things done before I moved in. I went thru several contractors getting things done before I moved in. I wish I had known about Agape Home Services then. Agape is far superior to any contractor I have ever used. Jerry and everyone provided outstanding service, exceptional work, didn't cut corners, took pride in providing all work that was the highest quality and they were always fun to be around. They were honest, trustworthy, dependable, and I couldn?t ask for anything more than what I was given. They went over and above what I expected. I couldn?t be happier. My advice is do not waste your time with other contractors. Call Agape Home Services.

Overall Agape did a good job. The installer was very friendly as was Jerry, the owner, who came by a couple of times. The only surprise was the toilet flange replacement which doubled the cost of the job because the lead sewer pipe I had in my slab required the plumber to break apart the concrete around the pipe in order to lay the flange around the pipe's circumference then solder it I appreciate that they were very engaged. They asked me several questions about the design and direction of the tile pattern making sure I knew what it was going to look like. I also appreciate contractors who make sure to lay a cloth walkway down and clean up after themselves and Agape did exactly that.

In addition the above description. It is important to note he came with two assistants and they were needed to handle the huge new door that had leaded glass in it. This company's attention to detail is very, very, good. They arrived on time both day.s and they stopped early enough each day to allow for total clean-up. Jerry the owner is very easy to work with. He takes detailed notes at the first meeting so that when he comes out he is ready to go. The doors he replaced were 22 years old. He had to do a lot of detail work to bring them into plum. We expect to see some very good energy savings from replacing these doors.

Jerry came to my house to get info in order to quote the project. There was no charge for the quote. Jerry spent a good bit of time with me at the site in my backyard and helped me work through the design (aesthetics as well as quality) specifics. Jerry quoted the job within a few days. I thought the price was a little high, so I shopped around with another couple of contractors, but didn't find the signficantly lower pricing for what I wanted. Also, I liked Jerry's attentiveness and apparent knowledge, so I decided to go ahead with Agape. Jerry and his two assistants arrived on time and started work immediately. They prepared the site and framed it up in two days (Thu and Fri). They came back the following Tue and Wed to lay the planks, build the steps and construct the perimiter bench. The team finished Wed afternoon. There were some materials left over. I kept some of the composite planks for some possible future enhancements like a planter, etc. The other materials Jerry loaded up for return to the material supplier, and subtracted the expense from the final bill. I am very satisfied with Agape, and Jerry specifically. Jerry seemed truly motivated to ensure my satisfaction. He listened to every suggestion I made and either "did it my way" or he came up with an even better idea. I would recommend Jerry and Agape to anyone.

The estimated time of a week to complete the work was optimistic. Jerry and team worked incredibly hard to finish it though, even breaking into a run going back and forth to the tile saw. There were some problems with the finished grout and tiling. The company responded very quickly and came back for a day the following week. They kindly offered to come back again after that but I declined. I wouldn't ask them to do any tiling jobs again. I would also suggest that areas not being directly worked on be covered up and that boxes be checked for small components before being taken away as trash. The company accidentally threw away a piece of my bath faucet. They fairly quickly ordered another but mailed it in a plain white envelope. Needless to say it was ruined when it arrived. I let the company know and was informed by e-mail that I should take the matter up with the Post Office. It was an inexpensive piece so I just ordered it myself. It arrived well packaged, direct from Kohler.
Response from Agape Home Services
"In response to the tiling job, we tiled the floor, complete shower and bath surround. You may view our work for yourself under our portfolio photos or more clearly on our website we posted entitled “partial bath remodel” and make your own decision, we are very happy with our work. We did have an issue with the grout. It had some discoloration in a few areas after drying. We have done hundreds of tile jobs and never had this particular issue. However, we cut it out and re-grouted and the following day and still had the same discoloration with that particular color of grout. We consulted with numerous tile installers and went as far as to call the manufacturer of the major tile industry located here in Dallas as to why this particular color of grout kept discoloring. It is our consensus, after talking with tile experts and the manufacturer, that the grout color was faulty. We told the homeowner we would be happy to do whatever it took to make it right; however, they chose not to have us continue and paid us the balance owed. We, on our own initiative, deducted $200 from the balance for the grout even though they did not request it as we always want to do what is right. In addressing the “holes issue”, these were not holes at all, but rather two 1/32” slits in the adjacent wall which were made while moving the vent stacks in order to install the two recessed medicine cabinets. The slits were made by the saw blade while cutting the pvc vent stack. To repair the two 1/32 inch slits, took approximately 5 minutes. We told the customer about these two slits before they ever knew or saw it. On the plumbing, our award winning master plumber of over 25 years, assisted in all phases of the plumbing project. We feel our homeowner, who we respect their opinion as an “electrical engineer”, may not realize the paper documents from the actual hands on construction reality. We do not agree and are very disappointed with the grade given by the homeowner."

Jerry Wetrich, the owner came our and looked at my back porch. He then proposed a plan for beam interlocking that he had used before. He made his calculations and said he would get back to me by e-mail the following day. He e-mailed me the following day as promised. We haggled over the price for two days. Reached an agreement and sat the day, Tuesday, May the 12 at 9.am. He was here right on time. He and his assistant worked hard utill 8 p.m. I then had exactly what I wanted , a decorative faux beam ceiling that was in and painted! He took obvious pride in his work. I will definitely use his company again.
Response from Agape Home Services
"In response to the tiling job, we tiled the floor, complete shower and bath surround. You may view our work for yourself under our portfolio photos we posted entitled “partial bath remodel” and make your own decision, we are very happy with our work. We feel our homeowner, who we respect their opinion being an “electrical engineer”, may not realize the paper documents from the actual hands on construction reality."
