AGAPE HOME SERVICES cannot be faulted for the service they delivered. BECKY was our main point of contact. She arrived early for our first appointment, and was polite and attentive throughout our meeting. BECKY took copious notes and photos, measured everything twice! She was able to answer all of our questions. On her second visit she arrived with her cabinet maker. We discussed design issues, and was able to reassure us that all the features we requested would be included in the finished project. He measured twice! On her third visit she was joined by JERRY, one of the owners of the company. They reviewed all aspects of the work to be undertaken, and confirmed delivery dates. Bill and Erik were punctual, professional and smiling. They informed me that rather than paint the components in our front room they preferred to paint them in a controlled environment back at their workshop. I agreed to this, but would have preferred prior notice. They worked smart and were able to find work arounds for all of those "tiny" issues that seem to plague every construction job. The units finally arrived . The paint job was first class, and the fit.... perfect! Trim was installed and a fresh coat of matching paint was added to the fire mantel. Erik and Bill respected our property at all times, and cleaned at the end of every day. Becky kept the paperwork up to date, ensuring that both parties were aware of all changes. Would I have AGAPE HOME SERVICES work for me again? Yes! Would I RECOMMEND AGAPE HOME SERVICES? Yes! It's tough to find quality work and outstanding customer service these days, but I believe AGAPE HOME SERVICES have got it right.. Thanks go to all who participated in the project. Oh yes, Thanks also for the card! Nice touch! :-)

Originally I had wanted the door repair only. When Jerry came out for the estimate for the door, I began asking him questions about this ongoing problem I had with this roof leak after a sunroom addition, never thinking that he might have an answer. The sunroom co tried but didn't have a clue! I have had several people out for estimates; either the price was in the thousands or they wouldn't touch it. Some gave me estimates but then would not respond and these were names I got from Angie's List. It has been a nightmare for over 2 yrs! Most want the easy, quick money, fix. I could see right away that Jerry was thinking outside the box. He gave me hope that my problem could be resolved. I am a single, senior citizen so having someone I feel I could trust was big for me. Then I had the great pleasure of meeting his staff. I was ready to meet someone I didn't like but each and everyone I met was top-notch and they were all respectful of me and one another and Jerry respected them, singing their praises. "My guys" were Ezekiel, Jose, Eric and Alex, all with their own area of expertise. They, and all the people I spoke with in the office were outstanding. I cannot say one negative thing about any part of my dealings with this company. Thank you all so very much.

The team at Agape is courteous, professional, and the quality of work is superb. They were able to offer guidance through the selection process and we are thrilled with the results. While there were minimal punch list items, they have been great to work with in getting those finishing touches taken care of. The price was very reasonable. Would definitely use this company again in the future.

I contacted Agape in mid July for an estimate on remodeling my book case in my family room, updating my master bathroom and replacing the tile back splash in kitchen. I was told that they could not send some one out until July 30. When the owner of the company showed up and I explained what I wanted done, he tried to talk me into doing a $35,000 complete bathroom remodel. He bragged that he did good work but that he wasn't cheap. When I told him I was NOT interested in doing a complete remodel, he seemed to lose interest. That was on a Wednesday. He told me he would have a written estimate for what I wanted done by the weekend or at the latest by the following Monday. It wasn't until 8 days later that I received an email from someone in the Agape office stating that after reviewing their schedule and because of time constraints they were unable to accommodate estimating my project. I didn't know what to make of the email, so I called the person that sent me the email and asked if she was saying that they were just running late on preparing the estimate or if they just were not going to do an estimate. She told me that she didn't know because she was just told to send the email. She said I could speak to the owner's wife but that she was on the phone and could not talk to me. That was the last I've ever heard from them. I don't know what kind of work they do, but it's obvious they were trying to up-sell me and when they couldn't they brushed me off. My biggest complaint is the owner could have just told me upfront he wasn't interested. Instead, I've wasted several weeks and accomplished nothing. In my opinion, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Response from Agape Home Services
Thank you for your review. First of all I would like to say the statements of an attempt to upsell are misunderstood. I simply informed the customer that in my opinion it would not be a wise decision to invest what would have been roughly $5000.00 dollars into his Master bathroom when from a resale standpoint made no sense. I informed the customer it would be in their best interest to wait until they were willing to upgrade the shower , tub, and countertops as well. If the perception was an attempt to upsell then I would encourage this gentleman to reconsider his thinking. Secondly, we at Agape always strive to meet our perspective clients needs, but sometimes the decision to pass on a job is necessary due to time constraints and the unrealistic expectations one might have about what is able to be accomplished for what price. It pains me to say that these decisions are necessary for the well being of our company, and active clients. I'm sorry this gentleman's feelings were hurt but, I would encourage him next time to start the interview process with are you bonded and insured? Are you licensed? Do you have an office and support staff? how long have you been in business do you offer a written warranty? "Not" we don't want to spend a lot on this project. Can't you just modify my expensive entertainment center a little bit and let my TV. hang over the sides covering other shelves. I always take pride in doing things the right way, and will not put the Agape name on corner cutting work to accommodate a perceived value. Running a well organized and thoughtful business is costly, and although I sincerely would like to meet everyone's needs, it's just not possible. I wish this gentleman the best with his project, and sincerely hope he finds the right contractor who will provide the product and level of service he deserves.

Agape did a complete kitchen remodel for us and it turned out beautifully. New cabinets, granite counter tops, sink, fixtures, stone back splash, and turned an ugly cupboard into a nice looking , functional pantry. Job was started on time and finished early. The guys cleaned up everyday and did their best to minimize inconvenience during construction. They were very respectful of our home. We wanted to keep the kitchen floor and the job was completed without any damage to it. They closely checked sub-contractors work and made sure it was perfect. They take much pride in their work and it really shows. Personable, professional and detail oriented. Even my dogs liked them. Great job! Couldn't be happier with the results we got for what I thought was a very fair price. I would definitely use and recommend Agape.

Very courteous, prompt, cleaned up at the end of everyday. Good work. There was some worked that needed to be reworked on shower tile and they stayed late to redo with no complaints. Also we had new toilet delivered from different company and it arrived broken. Jerry went out and bought new one for us on his own time and installed. This was a lifesaver as we were having out of town guests come the next day and had no time to shop for a new one.

I really can't say enough good things about Jerry and his company. I approached him a few months ago with this job, not knowing if what I wanted to do was even realistic, but knowing it would be quite an undertaking if so. Jerry was very up-front and honest, both about the time expected to complete the job as well as the cost. His guys came in worked really hard to stay on-time and meet my expectations, and they were very respectful of my house, my family, and even my dogs. I felt much more like I was working with a partner, as he was not only receptive to my ideas, but always happy to tweak this and that to ensure everything was to my liking. When unexpected things came up (as they always do on jobs like this), Jerry was always more than fair in finding a solution that would work for both of us. His entire operation, from the guys on-site to the office staff, is truly top-notch and were all a pleasure to work with. I am absolutely thrilled with the results and have already recommended him to several friends & co-workers that are looking for a down-to-earth, honest contractor. I will hire him again, without question, and would recommend him to anyone looking to have work done in their home.
Description of Work: Remodeled my entire kitchen, including removing walls and adding support beams, new sheetrock (tape, bed, and texture), expanded breakfast nook, relocated electrical, plumbing, and HVAC ducts, installed, painted, and stained all cabinetry, installed countertops and backsplash, installed new windows and skylights, floated all flooring, and installed all appliances and fixtures.

see above comments. I am not pleased at all with this company. I would not recommend using them!!!!!
Description of Work: they were supposed to be out today for a quote and never called or showed up. when I called, the person who was supposed to come out answered the phone. The woman who scheduled it wouldn't tell me if they were still coming out, only wanted my phone number to call me back when she figured out what she did with my appt. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!! If they can't make the first apt I don't trust them to do any work on my house. apparently they have enough business without my remodel

We did book an appointment with this member, and the appointment page with all of her information was misplaced before it could be entered into our appointment calendar. When this member called in at the time of her appointment to ask if we would be coming or not, we asked for a call back number, so that we could locate the information, and find out who the appointment was scheduled with, what the address was, and what city she was in. She refused to provide the call back number, and was completely impatient. We did drop the ball, and admitted so sincerely and apologetically. The owner of our company even called her back right away, to say exactly that and personally apologize for the mistake. Instead of taking his call, she decided the appropriate response to an honest and genuine mistake was to post disparaging remarks here on Angie's List. Our policy has always been to keep all appointments and be on time. It is sad that this particular member would not even listen or accept our call back. You will see we from all our other reviews, we never have a "no show" on our appointments. We are very respectful of everyone's time. We are extremely sadden that she would not even listen as we would have sent someone out immediately.

Everywhere I look in my home there is a touch of Agape! Their work is outstanding. They are honest, warm, hardworking, careful with their work and always have my best interests in mind. Jerry and Becky are very creative - they are great about talking through my ideas and what is possible within my budget. They are open to my ideas and bring some of their own to deliver the best possible end result for me. The value of my home has increased substantially thanks to the wonderful work they've done, The last - and biggest - project was a total remodel of my kitchen and family room, including all new cabinets, granite counter tops and fixtures, floors, fireplace surround, lighting - even a wall removal! The end result is spectacular and has given us a living space that we will enjoy for years to come! I tell anyone who asks who did the terrific work in my home - they are the best!
Description of Work: The last job that the Agape team did for me was a complete family room/kitchen remodel, but it was not the first or only job. In the last six years they have also remodeled three bathrooms, tile in my foyer and exterior landscaping in the front of my house. They even put up a permanent basketball hoop in my driveway!

I found Agape originally through Angie's List to complete a bathroom remodeling. Because that was so successful and I appreciated their care for quality and professionalism, I immediately requested their quote for a sunroom expansion for my aging parents to enjoy. Jerry came and took measurements and listened to me closely on how the room would be used and any considerations that would need to be made during construction. He took time with the quote in order to gather several bids for materials that he felt were the right quality and price. I received a couple of other bids from other companies just for comparison but did not feel as though any of them listened to me or respected what I wanted to accomplish in my price range. It was easy for me to choose Agape for this work since it's like family coming into your home! Calls into the office were always answered cheerfully and any actions taken quickly (bit of a hiccup with the foundation crew that was addressed and never to be repeated for another Agape customer I've been told). The two man crew (yeah Josh!!!) arrived promptly every morning and left the work area as clean as possible considering all the construction. I was amazed at the progress over three weeks to tear down the existing patio, pour a solid foundation, frame, brick, shingle and complete inside finishes. Nothing was rushed so I didn't feel as though corners were cut or quality was missed; it was more due to the efficiency of the crew and the organization of Agape. I believe I have added at least $40,000 in value to my home with the quality sunroom Agape constructed that someday, if I wanted, could even have a/c and heating because of how they insulated the walls and ran things in the ceiling. I really appreciated that type of future thinking from Jerry in his design. I'm not sure what project might come up next but I won't hesitate to contact Agape and hope I can get on their calendar!
Description of Work: Tore down 6x13 covered patio and built 20x13 sunroom extension that included exterior bricking, shingling, and gutters and interior windows (5), door with storm door, celing fans (2), utility recepticles (5), insulated walls and tiled floor.

I investigated several contractors in this area through Angie's List reviews but when Jerry and Becky visited me I was most impressed by their approach and care to what I wanted and my budget to accomplish it. The bathroom was very standard and plain and since another bathroom in the house has a shower/tub combination, I felt the upgrade to a large, walk-in shower would be worth it. I was introduced to the two office members at Agape to understand who would communicate what to me during the renovation. I quickly received an estimate and what that included and felt it was reasonable given the scope of work. Everyone from Agape was very considerate of my home and protected all of the surfaces and areas to minimize dirt and dust. Even with several ice days, the crew pushed to stay on track. I also appreciated Agape's relationship with ProSource and Becky's guidance in picking out all of the various tiles to make the bathroom a special place to take nice, relaxing showers. I had several calls from the office members to check on progress and my impression and satisfaction throughout the project. Even a challenge with a special vessel sink didn't throw off the Agape team for long. I felt as though everyone from Agape treated me like a part of their family and demonstrated that care and consideration in the work they performed each day. I have already recommended Agape to several friends and have them now working on an extension to the house for a sunroom.
Description of Work: Remodled a builder's grade, standard double sink with shower/tub bathroom into a spa-like experience. This included: replacing standard tile floor with plank tile floor, building and installing over-toilet cabinet, framing out mirror, removing shower/tub, framing and installing shower with inset and small corner seat, replacing countertop, capping off one sink and installing vessel sink, and complete painting of walls and trim.

Jerry and his crew were all professionals. He explained what was going to be done every step of the way. When ever a question came up they contacted me immediately. Agape worked through several problems when pipes and electrical were found in walls being removed. After finding a few problems (we expected something to come up) the extra Agape charged was more than fair. When putting the finishing touches to our project the crew was the best I've ever seen. We have recently had others in our home doing some work. We wish they all were as good as Agape.I wish Jerry and his crew all the best in their future endeavors. My recommendation for them could not be higher.
Description of Work: Agape removed a wall and powder room from between the kitchen and family room. The powder room door was right in the kitchen. They replaced the wall with support beams allowing for good flow and light between the family room and kitchen.

People on the phone were very nice. We couldn't do business with this company because of the time I needed it done. I'm selling my house in the next month and they had jobs on the books. They were very up front about it instead of running me around. I would call this company again for my new house if anything needs to be done. Very happy with the company and the communication they give. Its nice to see this in a contractor!

Each day the crew was on-time and each night they left it broom cleaned! The crew was extremely respectful of our home, our children and even our dog! They treated our place like it was their own! Truly master craftsmen in their own right! They did a wonderful job in updating our kitchen and laundry room. They did a great job protecting the rest of the house from being damaged or dirty with the coming and going of people, tools and things! We loved the administrative end of this company as well, always willing to help with design and shopping pricing too! Great experience!! We interviewed 11 companies before awarding this job, it truly was a small remodeling job, but they gave it the attention and respect that we wanted for ourselves and our home. Thanks Agape!!!

We could have not asked for a better contractor. We have used other contractors for a number of upgrades to our home, and they all did a good job. But now they have obviously grown to the point to where they don't have time to call back Consequently, we chose Agape simply from the reviews and rating it has on Angie's lists. We could not be happier with the service and the finished product. The men who came to our house were not only on time, friendly, and professional, but they took the time to listen to questions my wife and i had regarding the installation of lights in our kitchen and family room. The men installed four lights in the kitchen ceiling on the first job and four lights in family room ceiling on the second job. Both jobs, about three weeks apart, were completed in less than eight hours. And not only did they install lights in the kitchen ceiling but they patched four holes from where the other lights were hung and painted the ceiling. And when they left you would never know they were there. And since Agape does all types of work and remodeling projects we will definitely be calling on them for our next project.

The good news is that this repair began with Heather's advice that we should make sure the mold was not able to be cleaned with products (something we could do ourselves), that we understand that the job could evolve into a bigger job that we originally thought, that the company had a certain charge per hour with a two hour minimum and time on the job would include the worker's trip for materials. While this information might have caused some to turn away or do the job themselves, I was glad to try her suggestions before calling back for the appointment. Bill assessed the problems easily and quickly. Even though he had to use a grinder, he cleaned up the area completely. We are pleased and will use Agape Services again.

We did meet with the homeowner, and due to the size and randomness of her project, as well as the timing, ( we always close our business for a minimum of two weeks at Christmas, through the New Year, so that our Agape Family can spend time with their loved ones, and have some much deserved down time) we did advise her that her estimate would take about six weeks. The date of this review is 6 weeks and 1 day following that appointment. We work very hard to live up to our commitments, as well as treat others the way we wish to be treated. We missed the mark here by less than 24 hours. Perhaps it turned out best for all involved. We wish the best for this homeowner, her upcoming projects, and the contractor she chooses.

Our complaints are: 1) We had two powder rooms remodeled by Agape and the marble tile in both bathrooms is in the process of cracking due to the way it was installed. Agape shows no interest in, or concern about, our problem and offers nothing as a solution (other than having us pay to do it all again). 2) Agape is essentially non-responsive to our efforts to address the situation. Our emails and phone calls are only returned after repeated attempts. Some just aren?t returned at all. 3) Agape begs off responsibility citing a one year warranty? but the contract we signed has no mention of a warranty period. 4) Agape suggests we pay to have a job re-done that is just a couple of years old. 5) Agape did not install the floor tiles according to the specifications in the contract we signed with them. Details below: We paid Agape to remodel two powder rooms in April/May 2012 and contacted them about the cracking of the tile on November 21, 2013. We paid them for new marble tiles and for the labor to install the marble tiles and to install new sinks, vanities, fixtures and toilets that we had bought. These are not primary bathrooms and they receive very low usage. After several months we first noticed a faint white line in the white marble tiles in one of the powder rooms. Over the next several months we saw the lines grow and then eventually we noticed they were appearing in the other powder room. These are not cracks, yet. They are thin white lines that subtly contrast with the white marble tiles. We didn?t realize what was happening until we got a contractor to look at the situation when he was in our home for another job. Last fall we had a tile contractor in our home and we showed him the lines and asked his opinion. He told us the lines meant that the tiles had cracked on the underside and that eventually the cracks would work their way through to the top of the tiles. On November 21 we called Agape and asked to speak to Becky, one of the owners and the person who oversaw the remodeling. Becky prepared the bid and job specs. Heather in their office told us she would take care of the problem and that we did not need to speak to Becky. After a few days of not hearing back from anyone we followed up with Heather, who told us Becky had been made aware of the problem and that Vince, who installed the marble, would contact us on December 2. Vince did not call on the 2nd so we emailed Heather on Dec 4. We got no response to that email so we sent another email on the 9th. Again, no response, so we sent another on Dec 12. To this we got an email reply from Becky saying that Vince would call us to set up an appointment to inspect the marble. Her email said ?I will be sure and check back with you tomorrow to make sure he has called and set up a time to come and see. I apologize for the delay, we just hadn?t gotten to all the emails yet. I will be in touch!?. Also on Dec 12 we got an email from Heather saying ?I apologize again for the delay in my response, and have re-set my reminder to keep your issue front of mind until there is some sort of resolution.? Vince came on 12/13/13 to look at the marble tiles and he said we must have foundation problems. These two powder rooms are on opposite ends of our house and we have no signs of foundation problems. We also have marble tiles elsewhere in the house and they are not cracked. Vince said they would be happy to install replacement tiles but that it would be at our sole cost since their work has a one year warranty. The contract we signed with Agape, however, makes no mention of a warranty period for their work. While waiting for replies from Agape we had the owner of second tile company look at our situation. He agreed with the first contractor that the white lines we were seeing were evidence of cracks underneath the tile and that over time the tile would crack all the way through. Both contractors felt the base material underneath the tile must be failing. Our frustration here is compounded because Vince did not install the tiles according to the specs in our contract. He chose another preparation underneath the tiles from the preparation Becky had specified. We can?t help but wonder if that might be part of the problem. After Vince?s visit we consulted with the owner of foundation company and with the owner of a third tile company who he recommended, and his assessment is also that there is movement in the base material that is causing the marble to crack. He went on to say that when he installs tile he makes sure to have at least 2-2.5 inches of ?dry pack? underneath the tile to prevent the just the type of problems we are experiencing. Becky did not check back with us after Vince?s visit as she had said she would. She has not contacted us at all. We also never heard again from Heather. Buyer Beware.

I am so excited about the finished product! Not only do I have a beautiful backsplash, but also great lighting under the cabinets (that dim!) so I can now see what I'm doing on the counters! Since they were taking out the old wallboards and installing greeboard, not only were they able to wire it for the lighting, but they also repositioned my outlets to my liking and added a couple new outlets. I can't say enough good things about Jerry and his crew. Jerry put in the lighting and Erik and Greg did the backsplash. They are the most respectful, courteous contractors I've ever worked with. No phoniness, all genuine. They truly care about the customer and your house. They take special care to cover everything and put paper down on the floor with lots of tape (makes a difference!) so tracking is at a minimum. Becky helped me come up with the tile and accent design - she is truly a sweetheart and a tremendous help. The Agape team are all professionals and do meticulous work, paying attention to detail. The office assistants are very special - they communicate well and are attentive and true professionals. They have the right team assembled for all areas. I have hired other contractors that were okay but nothing like Agape. I will always hire Agape Home Services when possible!!
Description of Work: Agape installed a backsplash in my kitchen with undercabinet lighting. They also removed my over the range microwave and replaced it with a range hood (so the accent tile area could be viewed).

There were a few hiccups in the beginning, but once Jerry and his crew arrived the job went VERY well and my husband and I are very pleased with his choice of employees and his overall work. We had a few things that needed to be tended to after the job was done and Jerry came over in a prompt manner and corrected the work and was very honest about the process. I have total confidence in Jerry and his team and I am planning to use them for many more jobs to come. You will be very pleased with Agape if you decide to choose them.

Agape gave us a detailed estimate and advice on some of the remodeling. We had to wait to start for a few weeks because they were busy but they started when they said they would and finished one day ahead of schedule despite losing a day to an ice storm. They started with refinishing the fireplace, demolishing an old raised hearth then refacing the brick with stacked split face marble stone and replacing the hearth with marble tile. At the same time they removed some old floor tile and laid hardwood flooring in a dining room and two hallways, and did some cabinet remodeling of a bookcase. The wood paneled living room was painted and finally the hardwood floor in the living room was installed. The three crews, flooring, stonework and painting, were all very professional, friendly and kept us informed along the way. We were unsure of paint color so they got three samples and painted an area of the walls with each so we could better choose, very useful. Also, we changed our mind about having a different color trim so they painted the door and trim in the entrance hall to match the living room for no extra charge. They cleaned up each day, were prompt and very respectful of our time and our home. We are very pleased with the result and highly recommend Agape Home Services.

In the beginning, I was really impressed by this outfit. We did not want to go with a "turn-key" company after talking to five different contractors. Becky and Jerry were impressive, with Becky offering to help with the decor, which is really not my thing. Jerry had great ideas and appeared to have had a lot of experience. The reviews on Angie's list cinched it. Becky was very helpful the first week or two, but then sort of dropped out of the picture, coming around occasionally to get money or give perky comments on how great things were coming along. Last day of remodel. Jerry is determined to finish; he has not even had lunch (its approx. 5 pm). My husband stayed home from work to help since all the other workers were on other jobs. Apparently they are working on a much bigger, and I suppose more lucrative, kitchen remodel. It is clear that Jerry just wants to get this done. He is working at a manic rate; we are exhausted just watching him. He says he won't stop until its finished. Six o'clock, and Jerry is cleaning up. I am afraid to go into the bathroom. I would use turn-key people if I believed they could actually make life simpler, but I don't know if that's possible. Next time we will probably just do one thing at a time instead of trying to do it all at once. I will finish this review after everything is all wrapped up and I have had time to think about it. Save as draft. It has been a year now. Time to finish this. It really is a beautiful bathroom, and well worth it. The cabinets made by Matt are outstanding. The tile work Jerry did around the tub is unique and always gets positive comments. We really enjoy using our much improved, up to date bathroom. These are the things that lowered the score from an A to a B: We had to sweat a pipe that no one else seemed capable of fixing. We almost started a fire. There was a piece missing from the shower curtain rod. We had to replace the whole thing. We had to add insulation where the "fur down" was removed. We had to call a plumber to putty the tub drain. The pipes make knocking sounds when we run hot water through the sink faucets. There were no transition strips between the carpet and the tile. This little thing bothered me the most, only because I was made to feel like a moron for asking for such a thing. I looked it up online, where I learned that leaving the edges of the tile exposed is not only unsightly, but also poses a trip hazard. Do you still think transition strips are not important, person that made me feel stupid? (you know who you are) Over all, the finished product is very nice and I do recommend Agape. Just make sure you have the patience to deal with all the (not so) little things.

Response from Agape Home Services
We are completely surprised to receive a review from this customer after a year. We made several attempts (at least 4) to follow-up on this customer right after the renovation, but never received any answers at all. There are several things the customer commented on that we do not know exactly what they are talking about. Specifically, sweating a pipe that almost caught fire? We don't know if they tried to do something or not? As far the carpet, I do not know who she is referring to and we would never be demeaning to anyone. Customer respect and service are a top priority for us. I am so sorry this customer did not contact us and let us know their concerns, we would have been happy to accommodate whatever they were dissatisfied with; however, we were never given the opportunity. Lastly, their bathroom receives the most hits on our site for a small space design and the quality of craftsmanship. I know we cannot meet everyone's expectations, but we always strive to do a quality job and will never cut corners.
