Woodall Construction Services

We paid Mr. Woodall $5,000 down to begin the job. In a 3 week time period, Mr. Woodall and his crew showed up for a total of 21 hrs of work. Mr. Woodall's communication greatly lacked and his work was not done properly. We had to have work that he performed, re-done by another contractor. In areas of mold & rot; the mold and rot was not removed, only covered up. An area in my kitchen that was 10 ft wide by 4 ft deep was cut out to remove rotten sub-floor. This area was left open, exposed to the elements & to rodents for the duration of 1 and a half weeks. We asked several times for him to come and place the new pieces of plywood down for safety reasons and it took him 1 1/2 wks to get back to do this. Another contractor here working actually fell through the floor when he stepped on cardboard we taped down to help stop the cold air from coming in our home. The shower install was a DIY shower kit from Lowes. After Mr. Woodall installed the kit, the shower leaked water from underneath the pan. Also, the shower wall, nor fixtures were put in straight. Mr. Woodall refused to fix his errors, even though his written contract states that he guarantees his work. We were given excuses for his lack of communication and for not showing up to work at all when he told us he would be here. Our job was promised to be completed before Thanksgiving. I had no kitchen at all on Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving, he gave the excuse that he didn't have time to get our job completed because he and his wife were responsible for coordinating and organizing a turkey dinner for about 115 Christians that he meets with (in his words). What this has to do with our job and why he told us this is beyond me but I do know that he points out that he had to do turkey dinners for Christians, but wasn't Christian enough himself to think to provide us with a Thanksgiving meal when he had put us out of a kitchen to use for Thanksgiving and cost us an extra grand in having to eat out instead of cooking in my own kitchen! Needless to say, we fired him. He then marked up the value of his 21 hrs that he spent here to $4800. His out of cost expense for materials on our job was much less than $200. We do NOT recommend this contractor!
