The rudest people I've ever encountered in a business

NIGHTMARE!!! Took months, job was done wrong and wrong material used...... DEATAILS: Ron was asked to cover 2 chairs exactly as he previously had done before (even supplied a picture). When I went to pick up the chairs it was obvious that he used blue leather instead of tan as in picture and the job was WRONG!!! When Ron is called out for doing a job wrong, he instantly blows up and quickly looses his cool. He and his wife wanted to argue and say the emailed picture was with blue leather. They continued to insist it was exactly as the picture even after they pulled up the old email and saw it was tan! I was cursed and told to get the **** chairs out and not come back......very argumentitive, rude, hateful, unprofessional, etc..... couldnt even follow a picture. I'm a furniture wholesaler for Texas and the border states...no more Choate Upholstry for me. Wish I'd read his reviews before now....seems I'm not the first person Ron has blown up too!!!

If you need any upholstery work, furniture, vehicle, or boat, or carpet work done, DO NOT go to Ron Choate Upholstery in Burleson TX!! When I went to pick the boat up from having carpet installed, I felt like I was sucker punched in the gut. I tried to reason with Mr Choate, But he made it VERY hard. He was argumentative and down right agressive. He said he saw nothing wrong with the work he had done, and that we were "Being too picky"!?! Maybe so, if we had paid $100 bucks for the work, But for almost $1000.00 I think he could have at least TRIED to do quality work. Yes, its an older boat, but we are trying to make it like new again. We have paid for top notch fiberglass work, seat upholstery, and have done top quality paintwork on it. Here's what was wrong: Carpet not glued down/loose several places in boat Yellow glue strung all over the carpet, cables, motor, and gel coat inside the boat. Lower quality carpet installed than the sample I was shown at time of sale Carpet trimmed horribly. It looks like it was cut with a butter knife, by a blind man. Left ALLOT of screws out of panels they took loose to carpet Even carpeted over drains And, Mr Choate couldn't give 2 red cents whether you are happy with his work or not, as long as he has your money. The only way to fix this carpet job is to COMPLETELY tear it ALL out, Clean all of the over sprayed glue off the boat, and start again. I didn't ask for a cheap crappy job, barter or complain about his quoted price, and I simply expected what I PAID FOR! BEWARE!

Dealing with Ron Choate Custom Upholstering was a complete nightmare! Their customer service was abysmal. I had them replace the headliner on a Ford Escape with a sunroof. Their estimate was for $375 and they told me the work should take one day most likely, but 1 and a half at most. The job ended up taking almost 5 days! I dropped my car off at 8:30am last Monday (when he requested me to bring it in) and it was not completed until 10am on Friday. The headliner work is ok, but they broke the sunroof and did not tell me what was going on until the end. They were making excuses that they needed more time, but would not tell me what was happening. They were even rude when I called to find out the status of the work. I called at 4pm on Tuesday since I hadn’t heard anything from them all day and the job was supposed to be done earlier that day. I was told that they didn’t work on it at all that day and they needed more time and they would call me in the morning. I still didn’t hear anything on Wednesday so I called at 4pm to find out if it was done and I was told again that they would call me in the morning. I let them know that I had been told that each of the previous days as well and never received a call in the morning. They responded “Then we’ll just call you at 4 then”. I went to the shop in person on Thursday and was not told what was happening with the sunroof. I finally received an explanation and was shown the broken part when I picked up the car on Friday. They were only willing to take off $50 and the sales tax off of the price even though they took 3 times as long as they said and my sunroof does not work correctly now. I would strongly discourage doing business with this establishment!
