I ended up having another service provider replace part of my units.
Description of Work: I returned from vacation and found my AC not working. I phoned Comfort Zone (I had used them for years) They said they said they would be out the next day. They did not show up and when I phoned them they said that they would be out the next day. They then changed the come out day again and I canceled and phoned another service provider. They came out the day I phoned and provided the needed service. Replacement of part of my system.

On April first I called Comfort Zone to come and fix my air conditioner. They told me that someone would come out on Monday April forth. I stayed home all day, nobody showed up, nobody called. Tuesday April fifth someone called and wanted to come look at my unit. I told him that I had stayed home all day Monday, that nobody showed up nor called and I was in Houston and would not be back home until four PM. I requested that he come first thing on Wednesday, he agreed. Wednesday afternoon he showed up and added Freon but could not stay because he had a doctor’s appointment. Since I was going out of town Thursday and would be gone until late Monday I asked that he come back Tuesday. He agreed. Tuesday a different tech showed up and tested my system for leaks. He told me that there was a Freon leak inside and one in the compressor. The one in the compressor could not be repaired and the compressor needed to be replaced. He told me that the difference in the cost of a compressor and the entire unit was so close he recommend that I replace the entire unit. He also told me that he would call that afternoon and gave me a price to both replace the outside compressor and the entire unit. He did not call. Wednesday he called and told me the cost of an entire unit would be $2,100.00 I told him to replace the entire unit. He told me that the unit could be installed Thursday April 14 and at that time they would repair the leak inside. Thursday April 14 two different techs showed up and replaced the outside unit. They did not come in the house and repair the leak inside. I paid them $400.00 and asked that someone call me about payment of the balance. Friday someone from the office called me about the bill. At that time I told them that the inside leak had not been repaired. She told me that someone would be out and repair the inside leak When nobody showed up or called about repairing the leak by Wednesday April 20 I called another licensed air conditioning company to have them finish the job. The technician could not find any leak inside Is it reasonable to take 20 days to fix my air conditioner? If there is no leak inside I will always wonder if there was a leak outside or was it just a scam to sell an outside unit for over $2,100.00. James F Piper
