Description of Work: We heard good comments about Taylor Morrison, liked their floor plans and were seriously considering purchasing a new smaller home, but since we needed to sell our current home first prices for homes to be built were too high compared to homes ready to move in. The same house for immediate delivery was priced at $258,000 but could not be purchased for less than $280,000 to start construction now for delivery in a few months. We ended up buying in the same area from another builder with a good reputation for quality and honesty for the price within our budget, hopefully without surprises (we'll know in 6 months). Overall, T-M quality and designs are on the higher end, and you have to pay for the better quality. A warning for the uninitiated, the prices in the brochures ("prices from ...) of any builder are stripped down and if you are disciplined with the upgrades and extras you will still spend another 10% over the base prices. Without discipline you can end up paying a LOT more in the extras, which is where any builder makes real money.
