Extremely unprofessional and unskilled. This is a subcontractor for Home Depot. I purchased flooring and installation through Home Depot, and they assigned this company to install the flooring. I had to wait weeks for an appointment. The workers showed up on the Friday when they said they would and promptly announced that they wanted to charge us over $160.00 that was not in the quote to "level" our floor. I negotiated with Home Depot and got this down to $100.00. I tried to negotiate with the company, and they were rude and dismissive. The crew then roughly spread (not level at all) several bags of leveling cement on our floor. They then left and did not show up the next morning like they said they would. Their office was closed and the operations manager did not answer his phone. I called Home Depot, and they had no clue what was going on. After a frustrating weekend of looking at our bumpy cement floor and squeezing around all of the furniture we had to move out of the room, we got a phone call from a cheery and clueless FPN employee who asked how our install went. Choking bath laughter and tears, I let her know that their crew had screwed up our home and then disappeared. After a few more phone calls, I finally got the operations manager on the phone. He told me the original crew had simply not showed up and didn't let him know. He sent out another crew who told me they had never worked with this type of flooring. They spent a few hours smoothing the bumpy cement that the first crew put down. They them put down WAY too much glue and laid the flooring. They then spent several hours through to the next day on their hands and knees with solvent trying to remove the dried glue that had seeped up throughout the room. They ended the job by trying to get me to sign a paper saying I approved of the job they did. I refused because there was glue over the entire surface of the floor. They then treated me like a blind idiot and tried to tell me this was normal and would go away once I finished the floor. The floor was pre-finished. Long story short, after several phone calls with Home Depot and FPN, FPN avoided me, was rude, and eventually ended up refinishing the floor. What should have taken 2 days has ended up taking 2 weeks, and I had to fight at every turn to get these people to live up to their responsibilities. Horrible company. Stay away.
Description of Work: Installed wood parquet flooring.

On my one (1) day off, they cancelled and rescheduled 3 appointments during the course of the day, finally cancelling them all. Professionals do not act like this.

I was pleased with the professionalism of the call center staff; however, I was disappointed with the installation crew. The crew that performed the installation arrived and ripped out the old carpet and padding and installed the new carpet and padding. I had not moved into the house yet so the house was completely empty. The crew ripped out the old carpet and padding quickly. They then proceeded to install the new padding. Prior to installing the padding, they flung the adhesive glue on the floor for the padding to stick. The padding was then laid on top of the glue and then they proceeded to lay the carpet. The two man crew worked quickly to their blaring tejano music and expected beverage service from me (I was not pleased about this). Everything seemed to go well and the installation appeared to be good. After the crew left, I found damage in many areas of the house from the stretching tools they used - primarily scuffs and dings as wells as deep scratches in the walls - mostly fixed with some spackle and paint. Additionally, I found streaks of padding adhesive on the wall that I ended up having to remove - some areas it didn't damage the walls, other areas had to be repainted. Fast forward to July 2009 - the carpet is wrinkled and needs to be restretched. FPN has a 1 year warranty on their work, so they came out to restretch the carpet. I had to move all of my electronics (because they don't move electronics) and most of my furniture. They shifted furniture around in the rooms which could not be fully cleared to restretch the carpet. (They broke an office desk in one of the rooms - which I discovered after they left). The carpet looked good again. Fast forward to Sept 2010 - the carpet is wrinkled again, and needs to be restretched. The Home Depot sends a sample of my carpet to the manufacturer to determine if there is anything wrong. The manufacturer sends the carpet to a lab for evaluation - the results come back, the carpet is fine. FPN sends out a rep to look at the carpet. He takes pictures and pulls up part of the carpet to see if it was stretched properly. He says I would be contacted from the call center about scheduling a restretching - it's now November, I haven't heard a thing. I still have wrinkled carpet in need of a restretch. Be wary of dealing with this company.
Description of Work: Floor Pro Network is the installation service used with the Home Depot in Austin/Sunset Valley. The carpet was purchased at Home Depot and the "rip and replace" installation was performed by FPN. The installation charge was $199 the rest was for the carpet, appox 120 sq yards.
