Austex Sprinklers

We made an appointment after finding a sprinkler valve leaking and the zone not turning off. This was on a watering day. At first there was nothing available until after our next watering day, but they gave us an earlier appointment time. Alex call about 15 mins early and ask if it was ok to come now. The valve was replaced and a complete system inspection done with the replacement of a few broken heads and risers. He showed us how to turn off the main supply line to the system in case this happens again and reprogrammed the controller as we had unplugged and pulled the backup battery. Very professional and experienced. Best experience we've had since Gorbet which has been almost to 30 years ago. Would definitely use again.

Excellent sprinkler repair company. Alex, the licensed irrigation technician, showed exactly on time. He was polite, professional, and was willing to answer all my questions however repetitive. He was very knowledgeable about my sprinkler system and knew exactly what I needed to get it back to 100%. He explained the entire process and provided an estimate before beginning the work. There were no surprises except for the wonderfully efficient sprinkler heads he added. He properly programmed my system and showed me where to disconnect the water in the event of an emergency. I was very happy with the quality of work Alex performed. He stated several times that customer service was their #1 priority and it sure showed. I will definitely be using Austex for all my future irrigation needs.

My sprinkers' system wasn't working right, some of the risers/heads automatically spray the water randomly in the middle of the day and we couldn't stop it. Brad came and checked all risers/heads of every zones and he replaced 3 valves, which fixed the problem. He was very nice and did the job well. He also explained for me how it go into the problem the first place. The manager, Alex, also called me to check if everything went fine and if I was satisfy with the fix. They're very professional. I would use these guys again if my sprinkler gets in trouble again.

This was a very pleasant experience. Alex was very competent, communicative and explained every detail of his findings and his work. He took his time. He was very friendly and professional. He could have sold me a new valve for one of the stations but told me to keep the old one for now as long as it works and to just keep an eye out for breakage. Super service! Alex runs the show and sets appointments.Gilbert was my technician. He called first to see if he could arrive early. He found, explained and repaired all problems. He told me pricing before he did the work. He repaired a simple broken wire at no cost, replaced two leaking valves and added a zone. Professional, personable, knowledgeable, skilled, and reasonably priced. Service just doesn't get much better than that.

My sprinkler system got zapped by lightning in our last thunderstorm. I tried fixing it myself (replaced the transformer, replaced the control panel) but still couldn't get it to work properly, so I had to call in the professionals. I found these guys on yelp.com. Since they had such great reviews - and are literally within walking distance of my house - the decision was easy. And it was a good decision. These guys are terrific. Although their schedule is full til next week, the owner said he'd work me in tomorrow since I'm right in their neighborhood. Just a few hours later, Gilbert called to say he had a cancellation this afternoon and could come by today if I'd like. I met Gilbert and Alex at the house 20 minutes later. They tested the system and showed me how they determined there was a bad solenoid and a fried motherboard. They fixed everything, tested to make sure every zone was working properly, programmed the new controller, gave advice on the length of time to water each zone, adjusted the nozzles to give the best coverage, and answered all my questions. (Since I try to be a do-it-yourselfer, I had lots of questions.) I could tell by their knowledge and demeanor that they love their work, and they each expressed how much they like working for this company. Happy employees = Happy customers. Bottom Line: They underpromised, overdelivered, and got my system up and running within six hours of my initial phone call. WOW. I couldn't be happier.

Gilbert from Austex came out to fix my sprinkler system and was ahead of schedule. He found and fixed the problem quickly and inexpensively. Great service!

We recently moved into a new house and could tell that some sprinkler heads weren't working properly so I looked on Angie's List and found Austex. I received a very fast reply and scheduled an appointment for the following week. Gilbert came and was very professional, thorough, and polite. He analyzed the entire yard (19 zones) and identified and repaired all the issues. I was very pleased and will absolutely use Austex again.

I absolutely love them. They serviced me twice. They did a great job. I’ve been very pleased. They’re very responsive. In fact, they even needed the schedule and they call me in advance. They got me in as early as they could for a new appointment. I plan to continue using them.

They always answer the phone. The prices are reasonable. They were there when they said they were going to be there.

I have Austex installed a whole sprinkler system before and I was satisfied with their service. So, this time when I broke a pipe, I called them again. They are on the pricy side for fixing a broken pipe. But I do like the service. This time I wasn't able to talk to someone right way. Last time was faster. I guess they are getting busier and it was during busy season as well. The service was performed on time though.

I used these guys in April (and wrote a review at that time) to help fix some problems with the irrigation system in a house we just bought. Once they got the system up and running in April and I used it for a while, I realized that I needed some heads moved to better fit the yard's shape and vegetation. Gilbert came out today and figured out the best new placements for the heads and moved the heads so I now have perfect coverage. This involved trenching and laying new pipe. Now, I get water where I needed it and not where I don't need it. Gilbert and AusTex continue to do great work.

Alex and his crew were excellent and professional in every way. I had about 4 different companies come and give me estimates over a 3 month period, all top rated companies on Angie's List. AusTex was not the cheapest, but they were clearly the best choice for the job. Here are the reasons I chose AusTex: 1) Alex, the owner, was extremely professional. He came when he said he would. He was dressed well. He was down to earth. He was prepared and knowledgeable about my property. He obviously cares deeply about the reputation of his company. 2) Alex took the time to go over the products that would be used and the reasons they were preferred. Alex offered 3 levels of installation, and he explained in detail the difference between the 3. No other company did this. This lead me to believe that the cheapest available materials were probably what I should expect from companies not including multiple options in their bids. Alex brought a case full of sprinkler heads, pipes, joints, and the Hunter control unit, and explained everything in as much or as little detail as I was interested in. 3) I could tell from the reviews on Angie's list and my time with Alex that this company would stand behind their work and get things right. I am confident that AusTex will still be in business years down the road when warranty work needs to be done or something needs to be modified. On the day of installation Alex's crew came on time and worked hard all day long. The installation took one day and they returned my yard to as much of its previous condition as they could. I hardly knew they were there. They were courteous and polite. The sprinklers work fantastic and I am very happy with the system. Alex came back to my house a week later to make sure I was familiar with everything and to answer any final questions I had. I rest easy knowing if anything came up Alex would bend over backwards to help me or make things right.

We had a need for a quick response time on a Friday afternoon (because we just planted a full yard of new grass and the sprinkler wouldn't work) and Alex worked his schedule to get someone out the next day, Saturday. Gilbert did the work and was a true professional. He talked me through the diagnostic steps as he went along so I understood what the problems were (and what they weren't). Gilbert ended up spending half the day at our place, but when he left, everything was in top working order - all the way down to the watering position of all two dozen heads. After he left, our water pressure was a good deal lower in the house To make the repairs, I assumed Gilbert had to turn off the water main to the house, so I called to confirm before I started messing with it. I got a call back from Gilbert while I was out to dinner with my family on Saturday evening and I explained the issue. He confirmed that he did turn off the water main and we talked about me going out with a pair of channel locks to make sure the main valve as open all the way. Before we finished dinner, Gilbert called back to let me now he had already been to my house (remember it's Saturday evening) to double-check the water main and also test the water pressure to the house (at an outside faucet) at 100 psi to confirm it was back to normal. I'm not sure how the level of service and results could have been better. I'll only use AusTex for my future sprinkler needs and you should too.

I cannot tell you how fantastic their service is!! Alex is polite, prompt, and respectful! Not only was everything done but he identified potential problems and fixed them for very little extra. We had a second issue later one (dog dug up and chewed leads that were just repaired) and Alex took time out to come out and fix it right away. My husband is deployed and they gave us a discount that they did not have to do. I cannot rave enough about their service and professionalism!! They are our sprinkler people forever!!

Alex is a really nice guy. I could tell that from our initial conversation. He was polite, professional, and told me he didn't work weekends so he could give his wife a break from caring for their new baby (got points for that!!) We set up and appointment and he showed up actually early, but called first to make sure that'd be ok. He identified the problem and we discussed the cost of various solutions. I decided to cap the broken pipe rather than dig up and replacing the entire apparatus. He also replaced two sprinkler heads and found a third one I hadn't seen, and checked out the rest of the system. He was very generous, to say the least, on his work and cost. I finally have found THE person to call if I ever need more work done!

Alex did a great job fixing all the problems mentioned above. He went above and beyond to make sure all is fixed, works properly and went out of his way to fix small issues that dealt with irrigating our yard. Highly recommended and thank you.

Alex examined my controller and informed me I needed a new one and that mine had reached its life expectancy. He told me it would cost $425. I agreed that he should do the work at that price. He performed the installation efficiently in about 45 minutes while I watched and we talked about the project. I asked about adding a rain gauge, to prevent operation after a rain. He explained the difficulty of installing such a device (drilling through my brick wall, locating the collector on my roof), and we agreed it was not worth the cost and effort. Alex demonstrated how to set my controller and performed the initial setup (after advising me about an effective watering schedule). He then provided an inspection of the sprinkler heads on my property, and adjusted them as necessary. He repaired two of the heads and gave me a replacement head to install if it needed it in the future. As promised on the Angies list site, this involved no extra cost and took about half an hour. We also discussed the fact that some of my 10 sprinkler zones had valves that were slow to close. Alex recommended no work on them at this time, suggesting that I wait until there is a valve failure. At that time he would locate and map all my sprinkler valve boxes and repair any valves that needed repair in a comprehensive manner. I agreed this seemed to be the best approach. Alex showed me how to shut off the main valve to my sprinkler system (without interrupting the flow of water to my house) in the event of future zone valve failure. He also showed me how to shut off the main water valve for my property and how to alleviate future sewer backup problems. All of this information was provided in a very helpful manner and without cost; I paid $425, the amount Alex quoted for sale and installation of the controller. I was very pleased with Alex's work and his help on related issues as outlined above. I would recommend him to others.

I have been wanting to get the sprinkler system explained to me as I have never had one. Then someone broke off one of the sprinkler heads and I needed something done quickly. I called Alex, although he could not make it out immediately, he told me on the phone how to inexpensively fix the broken sprinkler. On the appointed day, he arrived and thoroughly went through the system and explained it to me and how to make minor repairs myself. As I suspected, I had two different systems, neither professionally installed, and consequently both a mess. He gave me a quote to fix what he could and also an estimate to put in a new system. I intend to have him work for me in the future.

This was an "emergency" repair. We had sold our house and two days before closing the backyard underground sprinkler system had a major leak. I called AUSTEX and Alex said they would be out the next day. Upon arrival, there was no problem finding the leak, it was on the major sprinkler line, but the repair was not easy. It was at a 90 degree joint but the two lines going into the joint were bowed. Therefore, to get rid of the bow, Alex had to dig out 6-7 feet on both lines, cut the lines and reposition the new lines to get rid of the "bow". It took him a couple of hours in 100+ degree heat to complete the repair. Our thanks to Alex for coming out so quickly and doing such a professional job. He is the first sprinkler person we have had over the years who actually corrected a problem rather just a patch job. I highly recommend AUSTEX and Alex.

The technician was very professional. Even though he ran into some trouble doing the repairs, he stuck to his original bid. This company is very customer service oriented and provide good, fair service. I will use them again.

I needed a sprinkler checkup when I noticed one of my zones was not coming on like it should. I've used my landscape company in the past and they were ok but I wanted someone who just did sprinklers and could do a complete checkup (read i'm a big preventive maintenance person). So I call Alex at AusTex Sprinklers and he was prompt, professional and knowledgeable! I had a valve that was toast, apparently those things wear out after 13 years :-). Alex repaired my system and everything was great. Until a few weeks later another one of my zones was not working, ugh! Again I called AusTex Sprinklers and Alex was very prompt to make a follow up appointment and made sure I knew that if the new problem was from something he had done previously that there would be no charge, he was very apologetic and had a great sense of urgency in getting back out to see what was going on. I had a different valve go bad and again Alex was very prompt in getting it fixed and had everything back in working order in no time. If you want someone to cut your lawn, call the lawn guy...If you want someone to fix your sprinklers, well call the sprinkler guy!
