Shopping at the store for THE right color tile was a pleasant experience. The assistant pulled out every piece near the shade I wanted for closer inspection. And I came home with two tile samples to color test next to adjacent flooring. The store owner came out two days later to measure and answer questions. He informed me that he would confine the entryway with plastic sheeting and use a high velocity fan to pull dust outside when removing the old tile, but that dust would still filter through, and to expect the need for major cleaning afterwards. He was right... the dust was thick in the adjacent living room. Fortunately I had removed all art from the walls and covered all upholstery with sheets. But even the walls had to be dusted afterwards. Two other adjacent rooms had considerably less leakage around the taped plastic. The crew arrived promptly on the morning the project began. Sheet plastic was taped over doorway openings surrounding entry way to close off the work space. Pathways of floors and stairway were protected with taped down heavy duty brown paper. Bathroom toilets & pedestal sink were disconnected & put aside. Carpet was ripped out of both bath areas. Old entryway tile was broken up with little jack hammer and removed. Membrane was spread on all surfaces to "float" the tile. AND the tile was laid in all areas... all this on the first day. Entry and 1/2 bath were laid in a staggered pattern and the full bath in a straight pattern... both beautifully done. Second day two workers arrived to grout but realized the premixed grout was different from what the contract specified. The store assistant located the correct color in powder form at a local retail store and the job was begun. Grouting under the white wall molding was problematic, resulting in bleeding of the dark color up onto the edge and in the crevices of the white molding. Remedy will necessitate paint touchup later after floors dry. In after thought I have wondered why the moldings were not taped off with painters tape to protect them from the dark grout... maybe concern about the grout adhering to the tape and resulting in rough surfaced grout when tape pulled away. We were instructed not to allow the dogs to walk over tile as nails could make holes in soft grout. Drying time... 72 hours. Four days later, early a.m., the office assitant applied sealant to the grout and cleaned the moldings as best she could. But touch-up painting still necessary. Forster Tile made every effort to please, and had we insisted I believe they would have done the touch-up painting. But we chose to do the painting ourselves.
Description of Work: Installed tile in entryway, full bath, 1/2 bath Used VOC-free products of my choice for installation.

It went very well overall with the tile work. The B for quality I will admit is from an earlier job with the stone for our entry way. The samples of stone in the shop may not accurately reflect the stone you will get in your shipment. This time we went with ceramic tile and are quite pleased. Sharon was super helpful in picking out accent tiles and grout. Our master bath look fabulous. Forster will really go out of the way to keep things on time. The idiots who installed our granite counter top and back splash (see review for Brazos Valley Floor and Design) made the back splash about 1" off from the height of the tub surround. Forster was out the next day and fixed it up to look right. Much appreciated.
Description of Work: As part of a remodel with Mariott, Forster Tile replaced the carpet in our bathrooms with tile and installed a tile shower and tub surround in the master bath.
