 + -1 moreI dropped of the pedestals at their shop on Friday near closing. The owner looked over the condition of pedestals and provided an estimate of the cost to repair if he were able to accomplish the repair in his intended manner. In addition, he advised the cost if he had to complete the repair using an alternate method (i.e. build new bases, rather able to repair the original bases.) Owner estimated the repair to take one to two weeks. The job was completed within 10 days and they were able to repair the pedestal bases, rather than have to build replacement bases. The final cost was equal to the original lower provided estimate plus taxes. I would certainly recommend the business to others.
Description of Work: Repaired the pedestal bases (2) for a large wood formal dining table.

 + 0 moreThey responded quickly and returned the table in good time. Unfortunately, they runined it instead of made it better.
Description of Work: I knew Able funriture when it was owned by Connie Able. I engaged them to refinish an antique dining table. Unbeknownst to me, Connie Able is no longer the owner of this brand name. The table leg was repaired as best I can tell but, the refinishers runined the contrasting band around the table and "lost" the lighter color band between the table and the border. I still have 2 leaves for this table that show what it should have looked like as refinished and I'm very unhappy with their work!!!

 + 0 moreCalled in to make an appointment for an estimate. At estimate appointment I picked the fabric for the upholstery and we made an appointment for them to take the furniture. An estimate for the date of completion was also given. The furniture was taken at the agreed upon time, but the fabric was on back order. We decided we still wanted that backordered pattern since it was no problem to wait an extra week or two. When the work was completed they called us to schedule delivery. Furniture looked wonderful with work completed.
Description of Work: Large formal dining room table top (with 2 leaves) refinished and 8 formal dining room chairs reupholstered/repaired.

Description of Work: I looked up a furniture refinisher on Angie's list and immediately found Able Furniture Company. I called and within thirty minutes they were on my doorstep to look at a family antique heirloom; a 117 year old dining room table. The table had been in the homes of three generations of small children so you can imagine the stress it suffered. Able gave me a price and an estimated completion date. I'm not sure what I expected but when the table was returned it appeared to have just been manufactured by Duncan Phyfe. The materials used and the workmanship were impecable. They delivered one week early and on the estimate. These folks know what they are doing. The work oerformed was the complete refinishing of the table.

 + -1 moreI called for an appointment, and Jesus Castillo and another gentleman came out to the house to look at the chairs. They gave me a quote for the work, and I asked if he could give me an Angie's List member discount. Jesus replied with what I took as a snide chuckle, "This is already a good price." His bid was way above another's quote for the same work, and I really did not appreciate his demeanor or his comment. Needless to say I did not hire Able Furniture and will not even call them again if I need some work done. My "C" up above for quality is a guess. I have no idea if their work is good or not.
Description of Work: I needed 4 kitchen chairs reupholstered & was asking Able Furniture to give me a quote for the work.

Description of Work: Able Furniture re-finished the top of my husband's office desk and credenza and did a wonderful job of matching the stain. We also had two antique pieces of furniture that needed areas buffed out and re-stained. I would highly recommend this company. They did a great job and finished the work on time.

 + -1 morecalled these guys and they came on time to pick up the fabric I had purchased along with the chair and ottoman....no pick up or delivery charges. I was so surprised when they called me three days later to say my pieces were ready for delivery! They delivered right on time that morning and I am thrilled with the way things turned out.....like getting new furniture. They are hard working guys and do a wonderful job! Very happy with this company and am now looking for my next project to send to them!!!

 + 0 moreOutstanding. They are friendly, work very hard to please and are always, always on time. Best of all, their prices are the best I've found in the Houston metropolitan area. Jesus will pick up and deliver anywhere, so it's worth it to call even though they are in Brookshire. If you're not happy with the work for any reason, he'll do it over until it's right.
Description of Work: I have used Able Furniture many times to reupholster chairs and a sofa and to refinish an old bedroom suite. This last time, I had them reupholster wing-backed chairs and a sofa with very expensive fabric. They did a great job.

 + -1 moreWhile having the interior or our house repainted, the footboard of our new bed was broken. Mr. Castillo came to give us an estimate and pointed out that the headboard had been damaged as well. He took both pieces back to his shop, repaired them, and touched up the finish. He brought the pieces back four days later and reassembled the bed. It is now stronger and looks better than when it was new. He was prompt, courteous, and did an excellent job. The final price was exactly what he had estimated. We recommend him very highly.
Description of Work: Mr. Castillo repaired the headboard and footboard of a new (and rather expensive) bed.

Description of Work: I called this firm twice and left voicemail message, and did not get a reply. I wanted to use this firm for a repair on two antique chairs, as they were recommended to me by a coworker and the firm has good feedback on the list. Since I did not use them, I can't comment on the work but the lack of reply leaves me concerned.

 + -1 moreJesus Castillo was very professional. He came within a couple of days to give the bid. He gave us an estimate and we chose to go with him, over 2 previous estimates. Our table and chairs were ready in about 10 days. We were extremely pleased with the work. The table and chairs look new. They are 20 yrs. old. He did one chair first for us to look at, to see if we liked it. We would definitely use him again.
