JH Concrete

It really needs to be taken off of Angie's List so that others don't get cheated out of money. They are written up on Better Business with our information that we gave them. There is one man who worked for them who took the money and the police are dealing with it.

Checked his references. Later learned that the concrete job that I had seen and he said he had done was done by his father-in-law. Homeowner took off work to supervise and make sure the little work he did was done correctly. JH Concrete didn't show up til 9 or 10 in the morning, went to lunch at noon, came back for an hour and then left for the day. Several days after lunch, his men worked without him. And there were also several days that noone worked. Paid him half up front to pay for materials. Came up with excuses to get more money. Even stamped and stained sidewalk and porch in exchange for payment of concrete delivered. Conveniently forgot his agreement about the staining and stamping. He demanded payment for the stamping and staining! He refused to listen to us when we told him that the porch floor had to be done different so it wouldn't crack and pull away from the original floor. Nor did he remove all the paint on the existing porch floor. He and his workers were very messy. They threw their coke cans, water bottles, and fast food wrappers down. Knowing how hard the work was. I felt sorry for them at first so I provided the water, cokes, and even baked pies for them. Left the trash so I had to pick it up so it wouldn't blow into neighbors' yards or litter the area. They didn't remove the excess concrete. Knew my husband was physically unable to go into the back yard so they poured it in backyard in several hidden places. Was not found until they had all left the job site for good. He has refused to redo the porch as it should have been done in the first place. Over the past three years, I have phoned him numerous times to no avail. Gave me the excuse that he will call me back within a certain time but never does. Once I even encountered at the Borger Credit Union. To shut me up in front of everyone when I demanded he redo the concrete work, he said he would be out in a couple of months to do the job. Never came to our home.. Phoned him again today. Same excuses.
