Top Notch Landscape

It went fine. The demeanor of the staff was good.

He did a really good job! He does most of the work himself and he has a really artistic eye for landscaping, and he is really excellent. He is a younger guy just getting started and his artistic ability is just amazing.

I had an appointment for Friday afternoon, a time and date that they chose. I made sure I was home and available as I wanted to get an estimate for replacing large sections of my yard with new sod. Not only did they not show up at the appointed time, they never called to say they need to cancel and reschedule. I've never heard from them since the initial call to schedule the appointment. If this is an example of how they operate I would never recommend them for anything.

i was very pleased with the work Christopher and his crew did. My backyard had become very overgrown. they cleaned that up and trimmed both of my large trees and pruned smaller bushes. Excellent job. I asked about putting in a sprinkler system in front yard but Chris suggested a drip system on a timer which saved a lot of money and is just perfect. He replanted the whole front yard since I lost a lot of plants during that last big freeze. Requested mostly native plants, xeriscape, low-maintenance. Was very knowledgeable.. Listened to all my ideas and then added his own suggestions. Many plants he used were already a good size so that I don't have to wait a year or two before it looks nice. I also have a lot of containers on my deck and those were set up on drip as well. I have lived in my home for 17 years and have hired several landscapers but this is the nicest my yard has ever looked. Thanks for such a great job guys!

They have done a top notch job of keep my yard in shape. They are dependable and reasonably priced.

We finished building our dream house on 4 acres in the country this past summer. As part of the house construction, we put in some landscaping beds right next to the house, but did not have any of the property cleaned up or mowed. The grass was 3+ feet tall and the trees were so thick and overgrown, you couldn't even tell there was a house behind them! After doing some research, I found TopNotch through AngiesList. I liked what I saw, especially the pictures of what Chris had been able to do with drainage problems at another job. While our drainage issues were nothing like the pictures I saw, it was good to know that Chris had experience in this area and could address the runoff issues we were experiencing. I called TopNotch on a Sunday afternoon, thinking I would get an answering machine. Chris answered and I explained what I was looking for -- someone to clean up the front of our property, from lot line to lot line in front of the house and thin/clean-up all of the trees in front of the house and immediately surrounding it. Chris asked when it would be convenient to come out to look at the property, I gave him some times the following week and then added, "or this afternoon if that would work for you". Chris was at my house about 30 minutes later! Walked the property and he asked me to describe what I was thinking. A couple of times he started to suggest something, then said, "no, you finish telling me what you think". I shared our long-term plans for the property and let Chris know that we'd have to work in stages, that right now I wanted the propert cleaned up and looking nice for the holidays. Once I had finished, Chris confirmed that he understood, suggested some additional ideas, and then asked if it would be OK for him to come back early the next week to make a thorough walk-through before providing an estimate. Chris called me with his estimate mid-week and started work that Friday. He first rough-mowed and then followed up with a detailed trim mow of the property -- and in the process located a huge yellow-jacket nest! When I got home from work on Friday, for the first time since we bought the property, I could see the house from the driveway entrance! And Chris had cleaned all of the debris off the driveway. The next day (Saturday) Chris and his crew thinned out the trees, cutting down dead/dying trees and thinning thick clumps so that there was room for healthy growth. He has an excellent design eye, suggested removing or leaving trees that accented the views both from the house and from the entry. He finished up the job on Monday and we couldn't be more pleased. You can see from the before and after pictures what a difference he made! Chris has made the property look like a park -- it's such a pleasure to turn into the driveway now and see such a beautiful, peaceful setting. Now we can actually see the deer as they come to feed in front of the house -- something we enjoy each and every day.

The experience was good. It took a few days to get my initial phone request for an estimate answered. I didn't find that unusual for this line of work in San Antonio. After that things went smoothly. I found Chris to be engaging and genuinely interested in his work. He provided detailed information in the estimate about the work to be performed, then carried it out as planned. I found his written estimate to be most helpful because a couple of tasks I needed done were left off the list. Once realized those tasks had been left out, we negotiated another estimate for those tasks which he promptly completed the next day.

DID NOT COME THROUGH ON WHEN HE WOULD BE IN ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS WHEN HE REPEATEDLY SAID HE WOULD START THE JOB . EXCUSES SUCH AS MY PHONE GONE LOST, MY TRUCK BROKE DOWN , I HAD COMPANY OVER THIS PAST WEEKEND COULD NOT COME , ETC.ETC.

They did a good job on the patio. The work went well. The patio was as per my anticipation. They took care of everything. They were competitive price wise. I would use their services in the future too.

Very well. Had a couple of delays but overall it went very well. Chris is responsive and easy to deal with and goes out of his way to make things right for his customer. I will certainly use him for additional work in the future. He also cleaned and pruned my daughters flower bed next door for a reasonable price and she was very pleased with the work.

I could not be more pleased with my new landscape. My highest recommendation to anyone looking for a landscaper who does quality work and can provide functional and beautiful designs tailored to the site.
