They were very professional, cleaned up after themselves, provided instructions on how to use the new digital pump, and they left the user manual for us to reference in the future. We really appreciated their promptness, professionalism, and attention to detail. We are definitely going to use them again!

He gave me two possible solutions to the problem and freely indicated how to change out the required parts, if I chose to do so. He also indicated the parts are widely available on-line saving me more money. So I paid him for his service, bought the required parts, and replaced/installed them in the heater myself.
Description of Work: Needed repairs to my pool heater after first contractor was unable to finish the work.

Description of Work: Called Dan in August of 2016 to come out and look at my spa, he came out said the pump was out which I figure that myself, order pump eventually he replace it, then it was something else that went out, this went on until December when I told him to take all the parts out and I would get someone else to repair it. He finally fixed it but on of the pumps runs continuously and is running up my electric bill, I text him about the problem in January and he never responded. He made comments throughout the process that he really doesn't like working on spas??? Not a problem you should have told me that in the beginning, I would have not botherd to call you, will never use again.

+ -1 moreService started off very well - smooth sailing - great communication. Last summer I tried to get Dan to install a heater, which he said he would do, but never did even after follow-ups. This March, Dan's employee didn't show up at all and my pool turned green. When I called to complain, someone came the next day - but there was no apology and no billing correction. This summer my pool was rarely vacuumed and the service tech removed the stops from my pool pump's timer without asking permission - makeing the pump run 24/7 - which I didn't notice until I owed $300+ more than normal on my electric bill. Again, no apology and no billing adjustment. I cancelled by polite phone message and didn't even get the courtesy of a returned phone call.
Description of Work: Dan's (Cobalt Pools) provided my pool cleaning service for about two years.

+ -1 moreWe called him yesterday to schedule some preventative maintenance on the pool and left a message - replace the old and mis-functioning trichlor tablet feeder that provides chlorine for the pool. He called back within 10 minutes, said he'd be here between 10 and 12 today, and he showed up on time. He made the replacement within 15 minutes for a reasonable cost and he responded knowledgeably other questions we had. He's a class act - we'll certainly use him in the future.

+ -1 moreI contacted Dan's Pool Service looking for monthly maintenance. The phone call went to voicemail and I left a message. Dan returned my call stating that he was not taking any new customers at this time as he is short handed. While no services were performed, I gave Dan an A because he returned my call promptly (within 30 minutes) and many companies wouldn't bother to call back at all if they were not accepting customers. One note, this is the 2nd time in a year that I have been turned away by Dan. Maybe it's time to hire some more help?

He gave me a great deal, explained in detail the workings of the system, and was an all around pleasure to do businesss with. I would recommend him wholeheartedly to any one who needs an alarm system installed, repaired, or monitored. He is also fire licensed.

+ -1 moreDan's people did an outstanding job; I am thoroughly satistfied. Although it was a lot of extra work, and they told me it couldn't really be done effectively, they knew I really wanted to save it the tile arcs on the steps, so they did the extra work anyhow, even though I had agreed to replacing the tile. They carefully cut around all the tile laid in a curved arc at the edges of the three steps into the pool, as well as those on the bottom marking the abrupt change in depth. The new plaster is beautiful workmanship. Dan is punctual, knowledgeable, highly competent, and most of all--honest. I highly recommend him to others. NOTE: Good, really knowledgeable, and CONSCIENTIOUS pool repair and service peole are rare, and as a result, Dan is in high demand during peak season. If you know your pool is needing major work, try to schedule it September - February.
Description of Work: Inspected a 20 year old, out-of-service pool for plaster integrity, explained clearly why the surface needed complete replacement (I'm knowledgeable of pools and building materials, so I knew he wasn't "blowing smoke"). Removed old plaster and replastered in black plaster. Returned the pool to service, cleaned and inspected all pumps and filters and cleared debris choked plumbing from pool.

+ -1 moreI was given a 2 hour window 4:00 - 6:00 and Kelby showed up at 6:00 so it was within the time frame. Kelby was very professional, courteous and patient as I had alot of questions and was writing down all the answers! I will use the company again and would definitely recommend them. I appreciated how Kelby was not in a rush and how knowledgeable he was about pool water chemistry. He said they would send me an invoice so I'm not sure what the total cost would be - he was here for about and hour and 10 minutes and I had the DE already so he didn't need to charge me for supplies. I had the DE on hand because I thought I would attempt on my own, but it's more of a job than I'd want to handle.
Description of Work: Called Dan's to clean our Quad Filter, test water, and to learn a little bit since this is our first pool (we recently purchased the home).

+ -1 moreNext came the chlorine wash to try to get rid of as many stains as possible. If the pool had been newer, Dan would have used an acid wash, but with a thirty-three year old pool acid would too damaging. I lost track of time Dan put into the cleaning of this pool, but it didn't happen overnight. It took several days, the draining, the scraping, the chlorine wash and the refill. Then, of course, the water treatment itself. I just know it was well worth it! And I thank Dan for being there! The pool is sparkling blue again. I hope I can keep it that way. If I have any problems at all, Dan will be my first call.
Description of Work: My sense of timing is completely off; I have no idea of when I first talked to Dan. My daughter-in-law died on July 25, 2011, my husband August 3, 2011 and I didn't care what color the pool was turning. My family was in deep mourning, the pool didn't matter. I know the drought was severe when I finally did talk to Dan. He suggested I wait until I was ready to face the pool, the treatment would be the same whenever I decided to get started. I finally called Dan sometime in the late spring, I think. Probably just when he was getting into his busiest period. He couldn't get to it until after Memorial Day, which didn't matter to us. After draining the pool, he scraped the bottom, saving the life of the turtle who had been living in that greenish black water for ages. My neighbors, the Doucette family, took him to live in the river in Boerne. I'm sure he's happier now and I'm very grateful to them. We knew he was there, had been living down in the water for some time. Because of the age of the pool, Dan had to use care scraping the bottom and the sides of the pool. It wasn't quite as bad as Dan expected.

Description of Work: After a few years of very costly and unsatisfactory service from the company which built my pool and spa 7 years ago (shame on me for allowing it to go on too long) I received a few recommendations for pool repair and service suppliers from the owner of the company that repaired my spa leaks. I called one of them, Dan's Pool Service, and Dan responded immediately. He checked my pool and spa over, made some minor repairs at a nominal cost and then agreed to service my pool on a weekly basis at $170/month. Dan or one of his workers comes every week, cleans my pool, checks and adds chemicals as necessary and repairs or replaces any needed parts.
