Description of Work: Came to the house to see what work needed done. Was suppose to call with an estimate, it's been three weeks. Left at least two messages asking for him to call, no response. Will be looking for someone that is reliable.

Description of Work: I tried getting an estimate from Blades of Glory Landscaping & Lawncare. He's the one that said you know due to high volume of jobs we have at this time we're not able to do any landscape maintenance. We would be happy to give you quote on larger tree work in the fall if you would like to set up a landscape consultation with us. So basically they wanted to do the whole landscaping and not just the little lawn maintenance. If you are going to advertise that you do lawn work then you should probably do the lawn work when people are willing to pay for it or otherwise don't advertise on Angie's List that you do lawn work.

Description of Work: I found Blades of Glory on Angie's list called Johnny to come out and give me an estimate and listen to my concerns of what was important to me. After receiving the quote i agreed to have the 10,600 dollar job done. Johnny's crew came out and remove most of the plants and started over. they built a rock wall and put in new dwarf plants. they put a light weed block new plants and added river rock. now 4 months later the weed cover was to light duty and his plant choices were not to good for this area because several died. i am still digging out sprinkler heads that his crew simply covered up. I tried to get hold of Johnny to come take a look at it and to give me a call. which he never did. His office Girl then send me an email wanting me to send him some pictures which i did. she then said Johnny would be out next week when it was convenient for him not me. i thought i would hear something the following week but never did. i called and emailed and finally was told that i had some tough weeds and that i should spray with round up and put more weed block. i asked if they would do anything for me and they said no and i still never received a call from Johnny. I spent a lot of money with them and not very Happy. I feel that Johnny still has a lot to learn about landscaping and is not worried about referrals. His plant choices and his crew working with sprinkler systems need a lot of help. Johnny was a very nice guy and i had expected he would be a little more concerned about his reputation in his growing business but i was wrong. He is Typical of alot of contractors, onces they get the check you are on your own. I would never recommend him and i will always be scared of a contractor that incorporates spiritual comments into the name of the company like BLADES OF GLORY has done. It is a shame because i only had one flower bed that was having problems and a phone call and 2 hours of work would have been a different story for Johnny. He showed me that as long as business was good he did not have to worry about taking care of his reputation.

Description of Work: Prepared and planted two plant beds, created two flagstone walkways, aerated the front and back yard and laid down lawn dressing and mulched all plant beds.

Description of Work: Working with Johnny and his crew was a delight. Johnny was so helpful and had good ideas! His crew was professional, did their work beautifully and left everything clean. They are a pleasure to work with and would hire them again without hesitation.

Description of Work: Blades of Glory subcontracted to another landscape contractor. Their work was inadequately done. Flower beds were suppose to be cleaned up. They just poured mulch over old mulch. They did not lift and replace old weed block fabric to effectively remove grass and weeds.

Description of Work: Discussed landscaping design options, and provided a quote for overall plan. The price was a little steep for our budget to do the full plan, but they were willing discuss options and work with us to determine what aspects would still look nice and provide us value. Since we had not used them before, we opted to go with only a portion of the initial proposal, which was to clean, add mulch, and plants to existing flower beds in front and side of house. They also trimmed and shaped bushes around house and cleaned flower beds in back yard. They were very professional, and timely. We will definitely consider using them for future work.

Description of Work: My front lawn was destroyed by the draught, plus my front and back yard landscaping was dated. Johnny designed a new landscaping layout for my front yard, and slightly tweaked my back yard design. His team removed my old lawn and put in a new lawn.

Description of Work: Had Johnny come evaluate my project, that seemed hopeless, and put together what he would do if it was his yard. He was very informative and prompt. What I really appreciated is that he heard my budget and never tried to push the envelope and I feel gave me more than I thought for the dollar. Will definately have them come back to put new grass in when the season comes around.

Description of Work: Johnny and his men were at the house by 8am and immediately began cutting down two trees and trimming another that was just messy looking. They cleaned out a section of the lawn of debris which consisted of rocks and tree stumps. Trimmed a tree in front of the house whose branches were scraping the roof. Planted 2 small trees making sure they planted them where the newly installed speinkler heads would hit them when turned on ( so I didn't have to water them). they were done by noon. Picked up all the trash and hauled evertything off.

Description of Work: Johnny landscaped the parkway in front of my house. It was quite a hefty job! He excavated the old grass by removing 4" of soil from property line to another property line along side of road ( I have a corner lot), so it was a pretty big deal to contend with. He lined the excavated area with commerical grade landscape fabric. He capped all the irrigation heads in the area excatived. He filled the excavated/ lined area with 2-4 inches of Texas Blend River Rock (which matched the exterior rock of my house) - total of 8-9 cubic yards of Texas Blend River Rock. He added Texas River Blend Rock around 2 sago palms in front of my half moon driveway and another sago palm to the left of my driveway. All the dirt that was taken from the excavated area was moved to the backyard and spread. There was at least 5 yards of dirt and grass.

Description of Work: Blades of Glory ripped out several dead and dying plants from our 10 year old "landscape". Since moving into our home, we have used Blades of Glory for lawn maintenance and have begun to restyle our yard with some deer proof and draught proof ideas. Highly recommend this team for their professionalism and value!

Description of Work: Great work. The yard was a mess and very overgrown before they started. Mowed, weed eated, and raked up all the grass and weeds. Going to hire them for more work next week adding mulch to all the gardens.
