he came by and gave me an estimate in a timely manner, emailed me a detailed estimate. i told him what i wanted done, and then he did it. no problems, no hassles. i would definitely recommend him and his company and will use his services in the future; prices were fair. work was done within a week of the estimate.

I purchased a coupon for 15 hours of landscaping service through Blades of Glory for $599. After the company came out and provided an estimate that was significantly higher than other estimates I received (without the coupon) I realized that I would not be getting the value for the coupon I perceived when I purchased it. I would like a refund of my money as I will not be pursuing work with this provider. I'm sure they do great work, but they must be used to a clientele with much larger budgets than me.

Nice ideas on ways to decrease turf, control weeds, and add a drip system.

Stone work was done right and looks good. Prices are reasonable. Nice people to talk with. Communication could be improved as I had to repeat my requests several times. Crews worked for most of the time unsupervised yet did a good job ( I expected the owner to be more on site than he was). There was an issue with the transplanted trees falling over but Blades of Glory remedied the problem after I complained. There was a miscommunication with sprinkler heads that took several requests before it was corrected. Overall, this is a good company to work with.? The employees are hard working and honest.

A superb landscape company, from start to finish! From the initial consult by the owner, Johnny Garcia, to the extremely well organized work by the 4-person landscape crew, we were totally impressed and pleased with the results. In the initial consult, the owner converted our expressed desires into easily understood and visualized solutions - project photos on the company's website aided us greatly in determining which option for the side yard conversion was preferred. On the day that the project was accomplished, every aspect was well organized and orchestrated. The first dump truck arrived at 8am to dump the top dressing on our driveway, and the 4-person crew arrived shortly thereafter. The second dump truck arrived around noon and dumped the river rock for the side yard on the driveway. It was readily evident that the crew has been together for a while, as they each tackled specific portions of the project - two concentrated on preparing the grassy areas of the lawn for the top dressing and then spreading the top dressing, while the other two planned and prepared the two flower beds for the new plants. After the two groups completed their initial projects, they all tackled the conversion of the side yard, first placing down weed-preventing fabric on the ground (after removing the existing small patch of Asiatic jasmine), then installed the river rock base, followed by the large stepping stones leading to our back fence and utility meters. After all of the project's tasks were completed, the crew meticulously cleaned up all of the materials from the job, including sweeping the driveway to eliminate the residue from where the top dressing and river rocks had been deposited. The results of the project are superb. We would not hesitate to employ this company and their professional employees again.

They told upfront that they would not be able to do the work. They were polite and professional.

From day one, Johnny and team had a "can-do" positive outlook. They were extremely punctual with our first inquiry and had epic follow-through with questions and plant order changes. The whole project was started (first phone call) and completed (last plant in the ground) in less than a week with clear communication and explanation of expectations from the start. We wished that we had a bigger yard just to keep him around a bit longer! Johnny came as a professional and left a friend--we will be remembering him for years to come and highly recommend his expertise.

Great. He was very professional and quick. He explained everything well and offered to return to adjust them if I wanted lights to be adjusted.

It went very well. We had to hire him for some extra hours because I had a lot of debris. They were absolutely wonderful. They were polite and thorough. I would hire them again when I get ready to landscape. It was freezing cold and they were out there working. They were out here early.

It couldn't have been better. He was very professional and creative and did exactly what he had promised he would do. His personality was fantastic to work with. We would definitely use him again.

Service provider was very nice and patient at initial consultation , but we have decided to move forward with a provider that we have used multiple times in the past.

When we initially contacted Johnny Garcia, the B of G owner, he came out the very next day to assess the work to be done and to give us a cost estimate for what we had in mind. Once we signed the paperwork, he quickly got us on his schedule and soon the work began. Of course, as luck would have it, the extreme cold spell hit but despite the chill, the B of G crew, headed by Manuel dug right in (no pun intended) and the first day had removed the offending bushes, had trimmed all the other bushes, prepped the yard for sodding and then laid the sod--a lot of hard work on a cold day. On day two, the crew returned to put in all the mulch and to lay the new brick walk. These guys did a fantastic job and we are very pleased with how our yard looks. They were efficient, professional, skilled. I certainly will recommend them to anyone needing landscape service. Thanks to Johnny and the B of G crew!

I did not use them as I do not have that much to do at this time. It is a shame as I might have a great deal to do in the future, but doubt I will call them again.

Johnny and I got together for a analysis and he promised me he would do a great job if given the opportunity. He did not disappoint. He understand the landscape business and he gives major value for his services. He went above and beyond what the original contract was for. The trimmed plants look great. The leaf cleanup was done well. The rock and grass areas look wonderful. We have a drainage area we will keep an eye one once we get a good rain. The men showed up on time and worked quickly and efficiently. Whatever size project you have, Johnny and the gang will give you a great bang for the buck.

From the initial call and consultation, Mr. Garcia and his employees were very responsive and professional, and completed the job on time. We're very pleased with the results and would definitely call them again in the future.

They initially worked in Oct and we liked the work so much, we had them back in Nov for additional landscaping. We would use them again.

I contacted Johnny asking for quotes for my front and back and he set up an appointment to come out to evaluate my house. The appointment was quickly and he came out and evaluated everything in about 15 minutes and was very nice and seemed to really know what he was doing. I was quite impressed. Within a few days he sent me a quote for everything, and then I asked if he could separate it between the front and back which he did in a day or two. I compared those to other quotes and it was less expensive so I decided to go with him. The first day (August 22, 2013) the workers came out on time in the am. When I came home from work that evening, i checked the work. There were rocks and dirt all over the grass around the mountain laurel not to mention grass tore up past the base of the tree. I looked at the wall and on the inside the was concrete sticking out all over from the wall, very sloppy detail and the grass again was ripped up from the base of the wall and rocks and dirt all over the place. Also there was no mulch laid down at the base of the tree or inside the wall. I contacted Johnny who said he would come by and check it out. He said that his crew normally brings a bucket with them to pick up debris and that they must have forgot and that he would come by and cleaned it up and brought mulch with him. I feel I shouldn't have to tell a landscaper to bring mulch with them, which should be an automatic item. He said that he left it off of the quote. He came by and cleaned everything up, added mulch, but didn't clean up the back of the wall; he just covered it with the mulch. Not exactly what I am paying for. I was waiting for my back yard fence to get stained before he would install the screen plants and he said he would then finish everything at that time and that my yard would be the "best looking one on the block" per a phone call with Johnny. My fence was finally finished and the screen plants were scheduled for installed October 2, 2013. On the 2nd, he sent me an email stating that he noticed that someone put white mortar under the brick cap on the wall and asked if I hired someone to do that. I told him that the only one who touched that wall was his crew. I didn't appreciate him asking me that when he knew I had a problem with the wall from the beginning and he inspected the wall before and he didn't notice it and now did then tried to make it seem like I hired someone who messed it up. His crew did the sloppy work which caused him to have to re-do much of the wall. He brought new sod to replace the damaged sod in areas along the wall that his crew damaged but then said that he decided not to replace it because there was new growth he didn't want to disturb. Since I'm no expert I believed him (which months turned out to be false since the grass never took and still looks the same-I have pics-and when I mentioned it to him on email October 23 he never replied). I also mentioned about grass keep growing through the mulch but he said that his crew pulled all the grass out but I would need a border to keep it from growing back. If it's all pulled out I can see if creeping around the side but not growing staring up through the center of the mulch. He said it would cost me more to keep that from happening. All this was on email on October 9, 2013. When I was ready to make final payment on October 10, I told him i was not pleased about the process of having to tell him to bring and constantly fix things; he offered to provide me with flowers and shrubs. He sent me examples on the 15th. I emailed him asking about dates for this with no response till the 21st, I then emailed him on the 23rd again stating that the grass wasn't growing along the wall and that I didn't want anything extra because I was afraid I'd have more problmes and didn't want that. I did not hear back from him on my comments or that the grass wasn?t growing. Johnny was very responsive with email and phone calls and did try to address everything that I mentioned to him. I didn't like my grass being ripped up and not fixed and the contstant back and forth to get things accomplished. Just constant sloppy work that he had to keep trying to fix and some areas that were never fixed. This was my first dealings with a landscaper so I have nothing to compare it to but I will take these lessons learned for future jobs.

All I can say is WOW! First of all,Johnny is very appreciative of your business and it shows. In addition, he is a pleasure to work with because he shows kindness and professionalism. When he came to look at the front yard, he quickly had a vision within seconds of what he wanted to do. Because of the reviews on here, we trusted him to go forth, in what he had envisioned. When we came homet to it, we were a little nervous(and picky). We were positively surprised ad delighted at our new beautiful, front yard. He took our very small, honestly,ugly back yard into something that makes our front yard look bigger, added beautiful color, and a riverbed which made al the difference. In addition, he was flexible and was able to get our front yard complete sooner than later. We will definitely be using him for yard lighting and the backyard. You cannot go wrong here. Blades of Glory installed chop block border around fence for planting area, spread top soil for grass and laid 6 pallets of grass.

They turned out well. They performed that they said they would and did a good.

The crew arrived on time and worked steadily and efficiently. They were careful to clean up the work area and remove all debris. These people are professional and do first class work. I highly recommend them.

Had never put in a french drain before. Dug by hand, did not use a trencher. I am unsure of the quality, they did not do it the way I would have, but it will take time to know if their way worked.

Removed grass and prepared ground for planting, including grass and weed barrier, planted several trees and bushes, installed river rock and mulch, cemented stones in back to finish off an extended porch area.
