Daniel Smith (the production manager) arrived on site promptly when I needed a quote. The quote was what I was looking for! Daniel had his crew arrive on the start date and I note they did a hands down fabulous job! Daniel Smith and Judah Stevens (sales estimator) kept in close contact with me throughout the job process! They were very professional and the quality of work was amazing!!

I can't say enough good things about Daniel Smith and his crew. From the beginning, Daniel was very accommodating with my schedule and came out and provided the quote after I got home from work. He was very professional and took the time to discuss, explain, and advise. The crew, led by Alex, was awesome! They were efficient with time and finished the job on time as scheduled. Their work was impeccable!!!!! They did an amazing job! My rooms look beautiful! I'll definitely be calling them for the next job! Thank you so much

This is a follow up to a previously written review posted in May. Daniel did respond to my review and called the next day. He made no excuses except to say that he had forgotten me. I appreciated his honesty and quick response. He and his new crew did return to make right on his promises and complete the work. They did a very good job. I do wish that this had been the case much earlier and I do hope that he doesn't lose too much work because of the bad review, because I do believe he is an honest man and does deserve a second look!

We have had two very good experiences with Next Door Painting doing interior painting work for us. The first time was part of a remodel of our bathrooms, utility room, and hall, and we were so impressed with the people and the work, we had them come back when we did an update to our bedrooms. Pricing was very competitive, they did great quality work, and actually got the job done in the time frame they committed to. Judah Stephens was the project manager and was great to work with as he was prompt, professional, and thorough. On the first project, we had the painting scheduled, but I kept having problems with my tile guy and had to call Judah to reschedule 3 times. Despite this, he was extremely patient and understanding, and worked with us to get the painting part completed as soon as possible as we still had an overall project deadline. Jaime (don’t know his last name) was the lead painter and he was just the kind of professional you want to work on your job. While friendly and courteous, he was a no nonsense get-the-job-done hard worker who knew what he was doing and wanted to make you (the homeowner) happy. He was very flexible and helpful. Next Door is definitely my go-to paint guys for any painting work we may need in the future. Great experience!

I am so thankful for having found Next Door Painting Company! Judah Stephens made the whole process pain-free. He took the time to explain the wing-to-wing process of painting the exterior; he answered all my questions, and taught me a few technigal jargon of the painting industry in the process. The 2-people painting crew (lead by Jaime) took one whole day in prepping the house (pressure wash, scraped off the failing paint, caulked to seal cracks, etc). They brought all the needed tools for the job, worked diligently and quietly, to the point that most of the time i forgot they were working outside. At the end of each day, they picked up after themselves and left all areas where they had worked very clean. The painting project was completed as it was forecasted/estimated during the quoting phase of the project. The painting crew's work is precise and of very high quality! The quality of work provided by the painting crew and the quality of service provided by Judah is well worth every dollar I paid! Lastly but not least, I would like to emphasize on the customer service provided by Judah: he answered my text messages and calls at any time; he was always available!! I recommend this company, Judah Stephens in specific, for all your painting needs; he will make sure that your needs are addressed and serviced in the most professionally and promtply manner. With Next Door Painting Company and Judah's excellent customer service, one truly has peace of mind!! I would definitely hire them again!!!

Sorry that it has taken so long for me to post this review. I guess somewhere down in me I was hoping they would fulfill their promise to come back and redo this job. Initially, the work was poor and they told me that they would completely redo this project. I called at first and Daniel did come out to the house and take a look and agreed that the work was not done properly. There were speckled compound globs on the wall and numerous missed spots in painting, as well as not completely covering up the wallpaper and since, I have been informed, not using the right paint. There were paint (brown) spots on the white trim of the cabinets and paint on the ceiling. Daniel even called one more time to say he hadn't forgotten me. I trusted him and his company to do the right thing. But I guess by not calling and being patient, I was completely dismissed. I don't like posting bad reviews, but I do hope this helps someone else.

Erik was responsive, quick, punctual, and worked with me to get the project within my budget. The team finished ahead of schedule and left almost no sign that they were there except the smell of fresh paint. Wonderful job! Will hire again!

Of the four companies I contacted, two responded immediately. Both came out and gave estimates. I chose Nextdoor and never looked back. Would call them again in a heartbeat.

Even though Next Door's was very slightly higher than the other, I chose them based on JJ's knowledge of the job I wanted to have done. The work took 3 full days, and the crew was here on time each day. They were all professional and respectful throughout. I will be sure to call Next Door for my next painting project.

After being on hold for a couple minutes, I was put through with a representative. She was clearly not experienced and I kept having to repeat myself as she collected my information. When it came time to make an appointment, the rep told me she couldn't have someone out until Wednesday, two days from today, which I was fine with. I ended the call, put the appointment in my phone, and not even 1 minute after, I get a call back from another representative stating that she needed more information from me before she could make an appointment. Apparently, the first lady I spoke with was only their call center and did not have the authority to make appointments. She basically confirms all the information that I had already given and asks me what part of the building I would like painted. I assume she pulls up the building on Google Maps because she asks me if it's the portion connected to the warehouse. After this, she tells me that she has to get with her "commercial painting guy" to see if he will even take on this job before she can schedule the estimate, as if this job would be too small for him to even bother with. Needless to say, I ended the conversation at that point because I don't need to give company like that my business. All customers should be treated equally, regardless of job size.

The pricing was fair. The company can work on the quality of the workmanship. They were paint splatters all over the floor. We had to spend weeks finding and cleaning them up. They were respectful of our home.

I am finally calm enough to write a review about my experience. It was unpleasant and unfortunate. Let me start off by saying I try to stick around as much as possible when I have people working in my home, regardless of how highly they come recommended. But sometimes, you have to pick up a child, or drop them off or what have you. Unfortunately- my leaving the house allowed for someone to take advantage of us. Things started off fine and the two men (the subs) were pleasant and polite. On day 2, one of them 'called in sick' which I thought was a little odd, but I let it go. Then I came home (on day 2) and my house was locked and empty. I had not given anyone a key. No one had called to ask me if they could leave or when I would be home, etc. The contractor took it upon himself to find a key in a drawer by our front door (my mistake of course- I meant to remove it and forgot when they started work- we no longer leave a key there now!). He let himself out to go get more supplies. I was horrified. Had I GIVEN him the key it would be a different story. But to find a key and use it without permission.... unprofessional and unacceptable. I began to feel uneasy. On day 4, I notice in the evening there is white powder/dust on several of dresses (black evening dresses so the white dust really stood out!) in my closet, a few shirts, and in a drawer (also in the closet). I find it odd, considering, I have stayed out of the area they are working in as much as possible, and decide to take a few pictures. My gut is telling me something is wrong. The next morning I am leaving to deliver pizza to my daughter's party at school and I decide to go back in the house. The lead contractor had left at this point, for more supplies, and the younger one was working. As I enter our house and walk down the hallway, he is exiting my bedroom and I hear him drop/toss something. I begin asking him questions and he pretends he doesn't understand English. I speak in Spanish and he tells me he was using the bathroom. I tell him absolutely not. He should use the hall bath. Then he says he needs trash bags. He was flustered and obviously lying. I give him trash bags from the kitchen. I repeat (in Eng and Span) not to enter our bedroom. I call the foreman and explain to him that the other contractor, and he, need to be at my house immediately. I go in the bedroom and see 2 of my husband's baseball hats on the ground by the door (what he had planned to steal). I am furious. I have to leave to drop food off so I barricade our door. I check our alarm system log as soon as I leave and guess where this lowlife goes.... right back down the hallway to our bedroom. I race back home and explain to the foreman what is going on. My husband comes home (during a work day mind you). At this point, I don't know what has been taken over the last few days- but I now know the dust I found in my closet the day before was not from me. He had been rifling through our things. He was asked to leave and not return. I realized one of my grandmother's necklaces (costume jewelry but sentimental nonetheless) has been stolen. But that was all I noticed at the time. He denies it. In the end, the foreman offered to re-key our house (due to the use of our key without permission and now this) but that was it. I believe when he brought the final bill he asks if I am satisfied. Well, let's see. Sure, the ceilings looks great but you can't give me back the sense of security that has now been taken away. There was no adjustment to my final invoice. I read such great reviews when researching companies. I wish I could have left a positive review. According to the foreman, they would not be working with that sub anymore.... but regardless this was not a pleasant experience.

Next Door Painting did an excellent job. They said it would take 2-3 days and they completed it in one.

Had a lot of painting to do. Overall a good job. We asked them to come out and fix / touch-up a few areas and they were very responsive to our request.

In both cases Judah delivered a competitive quote and the work was done with excellence. The jobs were completed on schedule and for the amount quoted. I would be happy to recommend Judah and next door painting to my closest friends.

It went well on the whole. There were several places where the old paint had not been scraped and sanded well enough before the new paint was put on. These were marked on the walk through before I signed off on the job, and the painters came back and fixed them. I would consider hiring them again.

I couldn't be happier overall. Erik came out Friday and had a quote done in minutes. It was reasonable and I had a favorable impression overall of Erik and Next Door. It didn't hurt that they had excellent ratings. So I called Monday to confirm, and the crew was out the next day and finished the entire job in one day. The attention to detail was impressive and I would definitely recommend Next Door Painting.

Process was smooth from beginning to end. I contacted many companies and individuals to get quotes. Erik responded to my inquiry right away, arrived when he said he would arrive, and gave me a quote on the spot. The quote was very competitive and detailed. It amazed me how many painters showed up to give me an estimate and never got back to me with a quote, or gave me a quote but then never returned my call. When we were ready to move forward, Erik had a crew ready to go almost immediately - and it was a big crew. They showed up on time, did a great job, and cleaned up well. Erik came back at the end of the day to make sure we were satisfied. The next day I noticed a couple of minor things that needed touching up - Erik had a painter at that house the very next day and they took care of it immediately. Overall I was very impressed with the level of professionalism, price, and quality of the job. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a painter in the Houston area.

Next Door Painting was prompt and professional, willing to work with us to use low or no VOC paint. Overall, the job was well done, but there were a few areas where the workmanship was not quite up to snuff. For example, switchplates were not removed in some areas despite their assurance that they would be. Work was done quickly and overall I'd say we were satisfied. Will consider using them again.

The project coordinator Eric was very helpful and accessible during the duration of the project. His bid was the best that I received in terms of price and timeframe. His project manager and painter Juan was extremely professional and understood the demands of painting new construction . Many companies avoid working on new construction projects because of the time and skill involved in the preparation. I used Angie's List this time because as a builder/home renovation contractor I have been so disappointed in the past with the paint contractors I have used and really needed a top notch job for this project. There was a large amount of moldings and built in wood fixtures so this job was more challenging than the average house. I was thrilled with the price, the quality of work and most of all the amount of time it took to complete. I will use this company for all my future projects.

The walk through and quote process was very timely. They were delayed a couple days from the originally scheduled start date and the job took longer than expected. However, the quality of the work was excellent and their painters were very professional.
