HEB Plumbing & Sprinkler- Kathlyn Smith

I reached out to HEB Plumbing for a repair to a 25 year old fitting that tied my sprinkler system into the main water line coming to my house. Sent both an email and called and left a message. They returned my call within an hour and were out later that morning. I also got a reply to my email, but it was a few days later, so if it is urgent I suggest you call. Eric came out and is a superb representation of the company. Really loves what he does and took care to even put out a trash bag to hold the dirt he dug up so it was not spread across the lawn. Nice touch. The fix took longer than he and I anticipated, but it got done. I did have a few surprises though. When I got the bill he was very fair on the time he spent on the job. Did not over charge. I expected to be charged more for the fittings than I can get from a local hardware store and that was the case. They were not outrageous though and the parts used were very high quality. The surprise was some of the 'standard fees' associated with the parts. I had only a few connections that required sealant and the minimum fee far exceeded what I could buy entire containers of sealant and cleaner for. My job used probably 1/100th of the container. The bigger surprise was the solder fee associated with the two solder joints. I was only charged the minimum amount, but it was $39.50. I totally understand that they cannot give away material...totally get that, but the minimum in my case was really high for the minimal soldering they had to do. I think it was two solder joints on 3/4 inch pipe. It would have been cheaper to use the solderless fittings, and I would have suggested that if I had known about the fee. All other joints were solderless joints. All of that said, I will certainly consider them in the future. Perhaps all plumbing services do this type of add on fees, but it would have been nice to know about them before certain part decisions were made. There was a cheaper route in my case. Again, great company, Eric was fantastic and the job got done within hours of me calling.

HEB Plumbing and Sprinkler has done work for us previously on some plumbing issues and since they did such a good job, I decided to call them when we needed some sprinkler heads replaced. Eric arrived when scheduled and I showed him the sprinklers that were broken and pointed out others that needed to be adjusted. He said he would test the entire system and let me know if he found any other problems. He replaced 3 sprinkler heads , several nozzles and made some adjustments to others so that the water was spraying in the right direction. Eric completed the work in about an hour and a half and when he was done not only did the sprinklers run perfectly but in the areas where he had to dig to put in the new the sprinkler heads the grass did not look like it had been disturbed. This is truly excellent and professional work!! In addition to the great work they do, HEB Plumbing prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this company for any plumbing or sprinkler system repairs.

There was a leak under the bathroom sink and the water was starting to be absorbed into the sheetrock at the back of the under sink cabinet. I contacted HEB Plumbing and luckily they were able to come out that afternoon. Chris and Seth arrived at the scheduled time and found the source of the leak pretty quickly. They advised that there was a problem with the water supply and that they needed to replace the valve and water supply line. As a precaution, we had them replace the other valve and supply line to avoid a problem with that as well. In addition, they fixed a problem we were having with the toilet in that same bathroom. They had the work completed and everything cleaned up in a relatively short amount of time. Thanks to Chris and Seth for a great job! They were very helpful, friendly and professional.

I have found my plumbing company and will not use any other. I spoke with Kathlyn Smith, owner and Certified Master Plumber, and 2 great members of her team, Chris and Eric, came out. I told them where I saw the evidence of the leak and the pulled the toilet, pulled a sanding block out of the wax ring, placed another wax ring, and had to shim the toilet due to a tile floor laid 3 months earlier. Perhaps that's when the sanding block fell or was placed on the ring (?) by the flooring person. They pressure tested the shower lines for my peace of mind and Eric pulled and replaced the wax ring in the master bathroom. He also tightened the tank bolts as they were loose. I mentioned 3 sprinkler heads that needed to be replaced. Eric used my new sprinkler heads, checked and found two more heads that needed repair while testing his work. He took care of those and at my request capped off one sprinkler that was no longer needed. Chris and Eric were efficient, did a fantastic job, cleaned up and presented me with a bill that was very reasonable! They are as customer focused as is Kathlyn Smith. She gave me the hourly rate and talked to me about what other expenses might come up before anyone came out. I liked that right up front information, loved their work and the bill!! How many times have you heard that?! I have already told my neighbors about The Plumbing Lady aka HEB Plumbing and Sprinklers and called a friend telling her I have our plumber! I have a magnet to give my friend and my magnet is already on my fridge. Thank you, Mrs. Smith, Chris and Eric!

Great. Prompt and efficient.

I called on a holiday weekend. She told me she let her staff off for the holiday but assured me that she would send someone first thing the following Monday. I was glad that she was giving her people time with their families and could live with a bit of inconvenience. She did exactly that. The Plummer she sent was prompt, efficient and quite professional. The work was done quickly and completely and the cost was reasonable. I have used her services before and was pleased with her prior efforts. That was why I called her again. I shall continue to call her when I have plumbing needs in the future. Thank you for a job well done,

It was a terrific experience. Kathlyn Smith, owner and a master plumber, answered the phone and set up the appointment. Nick was the Plummer who came to fix everything. He was so nice and professional, explaining what was needed and why. Kathlyn came by to meet me and check if her guy needed anything. I can't recommend this company highly enough. They did a great job at a fair price, with great customer service. A word of warning. Don't confuse this company with a similar sounding one. Make sure you get HEB Plumbing and Sprinklers. Nick also cleaned up everything and double checked the bill with his boss. This is a company you can trust, and no , I am not related to anyone who works there. I will be using them from now on.

Work proceeded very well. Very satisfied. They did not do a thorough job with after job clean-up on interior floors and fixtures.

Would definitely use her again. She's one of the only female licensed plumbers in the metroplex. I had the sprinkler shut off and thought I had a leak. I will use them for future plumbing services. I liked them that well. I thought the price was reasonable for the work that they did. It was a fair price. I've had no problems the grass looks great.

Kathlyn and her team were fantastic! We've actually used her team twice now after we stumbling on her through another plumber that was overbooked. Kathlyn gives new meaning to the word Customer Service and her team is nothing but professional. I am so thankful we found her!! Both repairs we've had them out for they were knowledgeable, explaining everything. This last visit was for a major repair. Our floors in our living room had water bubbling up from underneath the hardwood floors. Her team was exhaustive in their troubleshooting trying to understand if there was a crack in the pipes or what exactly was causing the problem. They identified the overall problem and tested the fix thoroughly. We will always use her team!!!

It was fixed within a reasonable time

We called on a Saturday, she said she could make it in about 30 min. She and another plummer showed up in that time and got right to work. She was very easy to talk to and friendly. They did the job right by soldering in a copper pipe instead of using compression joints. They did a great job and I will use her again for any pluming issues.

She showed up on time with her plumbing assistant. She was punctual, friendly, efficient and kept me fully informed during the time she was here. They were neat and professional and I felt safe having her in my home. I will use her services again and again, I'm sure since I'm living in an older home.

HEB Plumbing and Sprinkler service was prompt, efficient and reasonably priced. They came to my house within 30 minutes of when I called for service. The were quite professional in showing me what was needed, performing the necessary repairs and showing me what was done.

They would come out on the Holiday to make the repairs. They told me it was a regular work day for them, so there would be no holiday/after hours extra charges. They showed up with no parts. They wouldn t give an estimate of the repair costs. They started digging on the opposite side of where the break was located. They left for almost an hour only to return and say that their part suppliers were closed. They would have to return the next day to make the repairs. I refused for them to return. A different company came out on the next day. They gave me an estimate, had parts with them and completed the repair in just over an hour. After coming to the job unprepared and making no repairs, HEB sent me an invoice for $117. I agreed to pay their dispatch/travel charge, but I wasn t about to pay for any labor charges. They wouldn t agree and I ended up filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It remains unresolved. I believe HEB has now filed a lien.

THE GUY RAN A SNAKE DOWN THE LINE, AND PRONOUNCED IT CLEAR. HE SHOWED ME ROOTS THAT HAD COME OUT. HE SPENT ABOUT AN HOUR FROM START TO FINISH. INVOICE SUBMITTED FOR $121. NO FAULT OF THEIRS, BUT I DID NOT READ INVOICE COMPLETELY. I PAID THE BILL, FLUSHED MY TOILET, AND SENT THEM ON THEIR WAY. CAME HOME A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER, AND TOOK A BATH. WATER WOULD NOT DRAIN FROM TUB. THIS WAS AROUND 6:45 PM THE SAME DAY. THE WORK DONE WAS BARELY 3 HOURS OLD. CALLED, AND ANSWERING MACHINE INDICATES A 24 HOUR SERVICE. I LEAVE A MESSAGE INDICATING MY DRAINS WERE STILL CLOGGED. ASK FOR CALL BACK. 45 MIN. LATER MY HUSBAND LEFT A 2ND MESSAGE. FINALLY RECEIVED A CALL THE NEXT DAY. IN THE MEAN TIME I TOOK A CLOSE LOOK AT THE INVOICE, AND THE PLUMBER HAD WRITTEN "NOT GUARANTEED". 2ND ATTEMPT SAME RESULTS. THE LONG AND SHORT; THEY QUOTED $5000 TO DIG THE LINE UP TO REPLACE. I TOOK MY BUSINESS TO ANOTHER PLUMBER WHO CLEARED THE PROBLEM. H E B WAS RUNNING THEIR SNAKE THROUGH THE WRONG LINE.

GOOD JOB, COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER THOUGH.

THEY DID A REALLY GOOD JOB. THIS COMPANY STAYED ON MY JOB FOR THREE DAYS STRAIGHT UNTIL IT WAS COMPLETED. I HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO HAVE MAJOR WORK LIKE THIS DONE AGAIN, BUT IF I DO, I CERTAINLY TRUST THIS COMPANY TO DO IT RIGHT.

SUBSEQUENT TO THE MAJOR REPAIR DESCRIBED ABOVE, WE ALSO HIRED THIS COMPANY TO REPLACE OUR HOT WATER HEATERS. THEY, ONCE AGAIN, WERE COMPETITIVELY PRICED WITH THE MAJOR RETAILERS (HOME DEPOT & LOWES) AND PROVIDED QUICK, EFFICIENT AND HIGH QUALITY SERVICE.
