ALEX AIR CONDITIONING & HTG

First a little back story...I have an extended warranty (parts & labor) with Goodman on my central ac/heat unit and I had the heater coil replaced last September by another company. When the unit wasn't cooling again this year I called the same company out and they said it was the same problem as last year and they would have to replace the coil again. That job took 4 hours last year. After a week of waiting for the part and a date to do the work I was called by the company and told that they didn't make enough money off the job last year and didn't want to do it unless I agreed to pay the difference. I called Goodman and was told that all the companies that sell Goodman know there is a standard price for each job and they knew that last year also. Goodman gave me 3 other companies to call. I did a little research and found only one of the 3 were accredited with the BBB and that was Alex Air Conditioning & Htg. I called and spoke to Mr. Alexander (owner) and explained the problem. He was at the house within 15 minutes to check the unit. He didn't find the same problem as the other company. It was the liquid drying filter on the outside unit. He went to get the part and returned with his assistant Maverick and got the job done in less than 3 hours. Mr. Alexander and Maverick were so nice, perfect southern gentlemen. I feel that the other company which I gave a review here on Angie's list last year is a large company and was greedy and basicly lost a customer over it. Alex Air is a small two man business with less overhead to worry about. I found them to be very knowledgeable and efficient. Support Small businesses everyone!
