+ -1 moreWhen I called the owner of the company a few days later, he gave 2 different reasons for travel fee. First he said it was charged because of the high gas prices, and then he said it was actually a diagnostic fee and should not have been put on the travel fee line.
Description of Work: A leak in copper line to compressor of the A/C unit outside. He worked 1 1/2 hrs. All costs were labor, except freon expense. Serviceman did not separate freon expense from labor on invoice, so unless freon is $400 to $500 (doubtful), his labor charges were tremendous. I don't mind paying a large fee for a HVAC professional, but this is extreme to me. Even charged $85 travel fee for driving 33 miles from their office. If they're going to charge a travel fee of $85, please tell that upfront, for I would not have used their services.
