Versa Tile & Carpet

Do not use this company!!!!! I hired this company to repair grout around some ceramic tile in the master bedroom and sewing room. When the installer came out, he said that the tile had not been installed correctly, which I suspected. So, we paid him several hundred dollars extra to pull up the tile in the bedroom and to re-cement it, as well as grouting around it places in both rooms where grout was missing. Within a couple of weeks, I noticed that the grout was coming up again. I called Versa Tile several times, but was told they were very busy with lots of new jobs. At one point, the installer did call. I called him back several days later (it was at a very busy point in my work schedule), but didn't hear back from him. Finally, I told the owner?, that if she didn't take care of this and send out the installer again, I'd have no choice but to get my attorney involved. I repeatedly asked her for the installer's phone number since she claimed that the installers weren't actually employees of Versa Tile, but just contractors they worked with. If that were true, why wouldn't she give me the installer's number so I could deal with him directly? He did call and come out a few days later. Once at our home, however, he claimed that the problem was the installation of our bedroom tile, a fact he hadn't bothered to mention earlier when he claimed to have repaired this problem, work for which he charged us several hundred dollars additional. I wasn't home, but my husband was and I spoke to the installer by phone. I repeatedly asked him why he had not told us that his re-cement job wasn't going to fix the problem. He never gave me an answer, but said the tile in the whole room would have to be pulled up and new tile put down. Having seen the absence of customer service from Versa Tile and the poor quality of their work, I said no way. He promised to come out that Sat. morning and fix the job. We never heard from him or Versa Tile again. Needless to say, we will eventually have the tile job totally redone, but it won't be by Versa Tile. .
