The did it here and then our next door neighbors saw it and they didn't even talk to me, they saw what they were doing and they had them come and do their yard too. I don't have any idea about price, they just had everything I wanted and they were able to come on very short notice and do it.

When I called again, they apologized, and were able to email me instructions - with pictures - showing which way to turn the valve in the ground, and which way all the levers should flip. With that email, they did not have to come out to the house. I'm giving them an A on everything but responsiveness. This is the first time they have not returned a call within a business day, and I was disappointed that I had to call them again. Otherwise, they've been great to deal with over the years.
Description of Work: Wilson Irrigation has serviced my system for years, even though they did not install it. My husband recently died and I didn't know how to turn the system back on at the backflow preventer. I called Wilson Irrigation to come out and show me how to turn it back on.

+ -1 moreI made an inquiry through their online contact system. A reply was sent to me via email with a suggested appointment date and time. I conformed the appointment and requested an estimate and was told the basic charge was $85 per hour plus parts. Any major repairs would not be done but another estimate would be provided. A technician came at the appointed time. He found a large leak caused by a tree root. He tried to fix it but ran out of time (due to another appointment). He did a complete walk around of the yard and found another leak and 2 leaking sprinkler heads. He did have time to repair these items. He called later to setup a follow up appointment. I was disappointed that it was a little over 10 days but they did work me into their schedule and came 4 days before that time. The leak was repaired during this visit. The technician was very nice and invited me to walk around with him if I wanted and showed me the leaks before any repair work started. I was very pleased with the service and reasonable cost for the 2 visits.
Description of Work: The request was for a spring tune up on the irrigation system. Mike, the technician, did a walk around to inspect the system after asking me for any known problems. He identified 2 major leaks and 2 sprinkler heads that needed to be replaced.

+ -1 moreMy dealings with Wilson were professional from beginning to end. I got 3 bids and they were not the lowest. One company bid the job at $2,000. I was ready to use him when I googled his company. It was not pretty. The third bid was for $5,500. I have a small yard. I chose wilson and they did the job in one day. I feel I got a top of the line experience at a reasonable price.

+ -1 moreMy yard had several dead spots which were the result of the sprinkler system not adequately covering all areas of the yard. Wilson Irrigation came out within a few days and discussed what needed to be done to get full coverage. Their price seemed reasonable based on other sprinkler work I had had done last year so I agreed to the price. They agreed to come out early the following week but indicated that they had a previous commitment so they would have to leave by 10am. They had vehicle issues (flat tire) and showed up about 30 minutes late but they called and let me know what was happening. They did most of the work but ran out of time and materials to complete the job. They arranged to come back two days later and complete the work. They showed up on time and completed the work promptly. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and with how quickly they accomplished what turned out to be a significant amount of work. I appreciated them expediting the work so that my yard could start to recover from the hot, dry summer and the uneven watering by my sprinkler system. Considering the short time frame I had requested, I was extremely pleased with the scheduling and with the work.
Description of Work: Adjusted sprinklers, replaced 1 broken rotor head, replaced 6 nozzles, added 2 new rotor heads, added 6 pop-up heads in two different areas and moved one rotor head to a better location about 4 feet away.

+ -1 moreThe first time we called in 2011, they were short staffed and we had to wait several weeks to get someone out. The guy was extremely knowledgeable, but couldn't finish the job in the time allotted. It took another month to get him back out. He did great work, though. In 2012, we had a broken main valve with broken pieces spread throughout the system. This time, we had someone out the next day. Different guy than the first time, but again very knowledgeable. He got everything working, but then a few weeks later, one of the valves got stuck again. The first guy came out and concluded that pieces from the original broken valve were responsible, he cleaned it out, also fixing another unrelated but new problem, all at no charge. Everything has been working great since. I think our 2011 experience was a temporary staffing problem given the other great reviews and how well everything went in 2012. Their guys know their business, are friendly, professional, and on-time.

+ 0 moreKevin O’Brien came to help me out. He was very professional. He lives right in Pflugerville, and he’s a family man, which I really like about the company. The price above is for the complete sprinkler system in the front and the back. He impressed me with his water management skills, calculating the expected rainfall per week and gallons we would need. The whole system is programmed automatically and it’s worked out perfectly. I’m a real do-it-yourself person, and I’ve installed systems myself in the past, but I’ve never been this good at setting the exact amount of water it sends. There is no wasted water or overwatering with the system. This is totally unheard of for a sprinkler company, and I was very impressed. I wouldn’t do without it now. He would come to me right away if we needed documents or any help. He really went the extra mile for us.

We are very happy with our decision one month after the project is done. Kevin from the company is very professional and helpful throughout the project. He answered our questions patiently and the estimate was clear. The crew was professional as well. After we added new sods, Kevin came back to adjust the sprinkler heads to ensure water coverage for the new grass. We highly recommend Wilson Irrigation.

+ -1 moreEverything went well. There was a slight wait on the plans to be drawn up, but installation went well, and the support afterwards has been great. Wilson setup the sprinkler schedule and explained it thoroughly to me. They even came back to make an adjustment after planting and moving a few bushes. I probably have the most advanced system on the block.
Description of Work: Wilson irrigation installed a new sprinkler system in an existing house. The yard has many flower beds and there were ultimately around 10 zones. There is a combination of drip zones, rotator heads, and regular sprinklers. Wilson drew up the plans, submitted them to the city, and then did the installation.

+ -1 moreThey were prompt, and very professional. Mario explained everything. Besides addressing the sprinkler head, we had some issues with water pressure because we had reduced our water pressure. He suggested 3 possibilities to address this, with the least cost to try first - replacing some nozzles. It worked great, and he didn't have to go any further. We have used them for years and they are always professional, prompt and do an excellent job. I highly recommend them.

+ -1 moreThese guys are popular and I, of course, contacted them in the middle of the busy season. There was a month wait before I could get an estimate, and then another month before the installation could start. Based on recommendations I accepted the wait and was not disappointed. Kevin came by and wrote up an estimate that was very reasonably priced. Estimated a two day install, reiterated they only do hand trenching, and worked with me on the placement of some of the control boxes so as not to impact the neighbor's lawn too much. Permits were handled and they called 811 to make sure they didn't damage anything in the easements. The installation went smoothly, except that it rained both afternoons they were here. They still finished the job in two days. I did end up with a couple more spray heads than was originally planned, but everything is covered well. After install Kevin came back to run his tests and teach me how to use the system. My one complaint is the City of Austin inspection procedure was not well explained before-hand. Kate called to schedule the inspection and I was not aware it hadn't already been done and I would need to be available for it. There was then an issue with the inspector not showing up, but that's not Wilson Irrigaiton's fault. Once they did show up the inspection was quick and painless because of Wilson Irrigation's reputation. The inspector just went down the checklist, visually inspected some items, and did a spot check for overspray. It has been several months since installation and I'm very happy with the system. The lawn is still alive and my Saturdays are now free to do things other than watering the lawn.
Description of Work: Installed all new irrigation system with 11 zones, including 7 spray zones, 2 rotor zones, and 2 drip line zones. Quoted two day installation and it was right on target.

+ -1 moreHaving an irrigation system properly installed requires these key elements. 1. Experience - Wilson's employees are experienced at what they do and it shows in their work. 2. A Good Plan - The people at Wilson who worked on my sprinkler plan did an excellent job overall. David Brannon brought us a great plan for our yard. He went over my yard with me in great detail and listened to my questions and concerns. He made suggestions and gave me a great plan to accomplish my goals. We have spray nozzles in the lawn areas and shrub area and drip irrigation in all the plant bedding areas. Everyone from their company welcomed my questions and ideas and helped me understand what they proposed and why they did it that way. 3. Good Installation - Ramone and the entire installation crew did a top notch job installing our system. I was impressed by how quickly and neatly they worked. It was a very hot day to be digging a trench. They began work about 8 am and it was finished by 7 pm. Wilson's crew gets 5 plus stars for their hard work. 4. Good Follow Up - David and the irrigation techs have been back to make final adjustments on spray heads and to tweak our system for the best coverage. They took time to answer questions and show me how to operate the system. They also took time to make coverage changes by swapping out nozzles, adjusting spray heads and doing final tweaks to take care of my issues, questions, and concerns. These changes made our good system even better. 5. Communication - They called and/or emailed to keep me informed about what was happening. Kate did a great job keeping us informed about scheduling work and tech visits as well as setting up the final city inspection. Thanks to all the people at Wilson who made my system installation a success. I am very happy with our selection of Wilson Irrigation to install our system. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Wilson Irrigation installed a new irrigation system. Their system plan included 7 stations in both the front and rear yard. I asked for an 8th station to be added so I can add drip irrigation going to the patio and porch plants separately. Our yard is a typical city lot in N Austin. We have about 10 trees with lots of rocks and roots. We have 10 small to medium sized planting bed areas. Wilson is very busy and it was a wait to get a bid from them. It was during the summer when I initially contacted them. It took a long time to get them out to do an estimate and work through the bid changes I required. Initially, I was not happy with their bid. Due to employee circumstances, their bid got worked on by multiple people which caused some problems with the bid. When I read through that bid, I felt like it did not properly reflect what I wanted and the things I discussed with the first person who started working on the bid. I asked them to look it over and they agreed. They came back out and went over the yard with me a second time. Although this took extra time, it gave us a better plan in the end. Spending time to be clear on my expectations took effort but it resulted in a superior job. More than once my wife pushed me to pick a different company and move on. I resisted and I am glad I held out. Once we accepted Wilson's proposal we were scheduled quickly, it was very fast for them to install our system. It was worth the wait in the end. I got bids from 4 established companies. Wilson's bid was a little above the average of the 4 bids. They were very close to the same price as my second choice. Now that they have finished the work on our system, I feel like I got a lot of value for my money. They are very experienced and they did the job right using top quality materials. I looked at installations by 5 or 6 other sprinkler companies while I was researching our system. Wilson's job was superior in many respects as compared to each of these other systems.

+ -1 moreI've used Wilson for a couple of years and they do good work. They're responsive and provide good service. Mario was punctual and the cost was right in line with the initial bids. It took a couple of trips since they had to get some parts (understandable since our system is 20+ yrs old). After the first trip, I was out of town and they had to call me a couple times to set up the next appointment. I was impressed that they followed up to make sure the job was scheduled and work completed. Mario answered all my questions and made sure he checked everything thoroughly.
Description of Work: Replaced sprinkler control panel, installed rain sensor, replaced three solenoids, replaced several sprinkler heads, straightened & adjusted sprinkler heads.

+ -1 moreMario and his helper arrived bright and early and worked in close to 100 degrees weather for about 9 hours! They weren't able to find the break in the pipe so they had to create a new system in the back. They also brought to my attention that the front sprinklers were leaking a lot of water, so I decided to replace those too. Mario reprogrammed the sprinkler zones so it would make sense and showed me how to use the control panel properly. All in all, they were professional and worked very hard to fix the sprinkler system.
Description of Work: Just moved into a new home and was aware that the sprinklers in the backyard had to be fixed since the seller stated that the sprinkler pipes were damaged a few months back when there was some major landscaping work done. Wilson was pretty booked but they were able to squeeze me in. A few days before the appointment they called to reschedule due to some personal issue, but I didn't mind since they gave me ample notice.

The only thing I would change if I did this again would be that I would request that the sprinkler heads adjacent to sidewalks and driveways be placed three inches closer to the concrete. This was another good service provider that I found through Angie's list. I would use this company again.
Description of Work: Underground sprinklers were installed in front and back yards. Programmable timer was installed in my garage to control the sprinkling times and durations. System was designed and drawings submitted. City permits were obtained and necessary back flow preventer and valves installed. Actual installation process took one day.They cleaned up the mess from trench digging. They arrived on time with the necessary manpower, equipment, and knowledge to do the job.
