Wellspring Landscape Services

Scheduling the service took longer than expected due to wet weather and general lack of capacity on their end, but we eventually made it work. I'd kept parts of the yard clean this spring but my equipment (electric) isn't powerful enough to attack other areas. The crew was very professional, asked for a complete walk through, and then offered to do some additional cleanup after they assessed that what I wanted done wouldn't take the full two hours. They picked up all of the debris and took it with them, along with 30 bags of leaves that I had generated. The yard looks great and I'll definitely schedule them again.

We paid upfront through Angie's List since that's the way it is set up. From there our appointments kept getting delayed or missed for one reason or another. Took about a month before they finally came out and did the work. When we brought up the frustration, management basically said that this type of work was not a priority for them and they prefer regular lawn-mowing customers. They did a good job but it was difficult to figure out when/if they were ever going to come out. We did have a follow-up conversation after this review was originally posted and they were apologetic and wanting to work something out. So at least they do care about customer satisfaction.

I showed the two men the work to be done, front and back yard(rake leaves and weed bed)... they said it was too much unless I wanted to pay more... I agreed for them to clean up my front beds and rake leaves... after 2 hours they had a huge pile of leaves on my driveway cars could not use the drive at this point.. and said they needed more $$ to finish. I told them that they should have been able to do this for $200 and that I would finish the job myself. I do not think this company honors the coupon but uses it as a "lost leader- getting their foot in the door" to get you to pay more.

Adrian and Sol arrived on time. Asked me what I wanted done first, since this was a 2-hour pre-package deal, and they did everything I asked within the time allotted. They were respectful of me and my property. They spoke to me about the progress the entire time they were at my home. They made me feel very confident that they would get the job done and done right.

After initially purchasing this deal through the "Big Deals" portion of Angie's list I received an email from Wellspring asking for my contact information. I responded immediately and haven't heard anything from them since (a week ago). I have emailed them 5 times as well as called - no response. I hate to give anyone a bad review, but ignoring a new customer completely - very poor. I guess they have enough business that they don't care about mine. I have asked (and hope to receive) a full refund since no services were provided. I am sure they do great work, it is a shame that I didn't get to see it. UPDATE: I was contacted by the owner who sincerely apologized for the situation. He said he would do whatever was necessary to make it right. I appreciated this and although didn't end up using them wanted to update this review so that they were not unfairly punished.

I have hired Wellspring Landscape before by taking advantage of "The Big Deal." This time I purchased the maximum of four $229 Deals for eight man-hours each for a large landscape project. I'm so pleased with their work that I'll keep bringing them back at full price to continue the project. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this company. My project is washing and relocating tons of white landscape rock, 1-3 inches in diameter. My entire backyard and a large part of my side yard were a "zeroscape" of white rock with black plastic underneath. Not only was it ugly, but bad for the trees, which have had their roots covered with plastic since the home was built in 1995. Moving the rock involves raking it up and shoveling it into my garden cart, where I rinse it with my power washer, and then moving it to my front yard and dumping it in a new location. (Believe me, I'd get rid of it if I could, but the cost of hauling it to the landfill was astronomical. Washing and moving it is the only option I've found.) Raking, shoveling and moving rock for hours at a time is hard work, but Wellspring's crew has never once complained. Kirk Slack, the owner, is unfailingly prompt at returning calls, warm, cheerful and 100% professional. My schedule can be difficult to accommodate but he has always found a way to work me in. There was one occasion where I had a misunderstanding with one of Kirk's assistants and Kirk stepped right in and offered to let me deal with him directly from that point forward. Not many company owners would be willing to do that. I feel like I can trust him. Kirk sent Romero over the first time and has sent him every time since, which builds trust and continuity. Romero has had various helpers. The last two times it's been Carlos. The last time I had them working at my place, I had to leave unexpectedly for a family medical emergency. It was comforting to know that I could leave Romero and Carlos to finish out the last two hours of work. When I returned a few days later, I found that they made a lot more progress after I left and had left the yard and driveway clean and neat as always. Romero and his helper have always shown up ready to work as soon as they arrive. They work hard and steadily through the entire morning. They don't seem to mind that a middle-aged woman is working alongside them, which is nice. Romero is an excellent communicator and very easy-going. He has had some really great ideas on how to improve the process. He figured out that by vigorously rocking my garden cart, most of the excess soil is shaken out of the rock before I power wash it. He really is very good at his job, always positive and never complaining. His helpers are always a pleasure to work with as well. Carlos, who worked with him the last two times, really surprised me when he said that he enjoys digging out stumps. In addition to moving all that rock, I had them remove several shrubs. The toughest were two very large deeply rooted yaupons. Romero and Carlos both tackled those stumps and it took quite a long time and a lot of muscle to dig around, cut the big roots, and keep prying until they finally popped out. The crew also removed several smaller shrubs, digging out some stumps and cutting the rest to ground level with a chain saw. Romero did a nice job of getting the stumps cut close to flush with the ground. I had a place to dispose the shrubs but no truck, so Romero and his helper piled them in the trailer, hauled them to the site, and unloaded them. Hauling is not a standard service offered by Wellspring, at least not as part of the Big Deal, but Kirk accommodated my request which was a big help. I had a memorably bad experience with the only other landscape company I hired before Wellspring. What a great relief and pleasure it has been to work with this company. It doesn't get any better than this.

Everything turned out well. They left the place cleaned up. They did a thorough job and they came out on the day they said they would.

I purchased a Big Deal through Angie's List for 8 hours of labor, and used toward leveling my existing back patio. The former homeowners were DIY-ers and their original work needed repair. David Pereira coordinated the crew's arrival date and time with great responsiveness, and took time to answer some questions about materials needed. The morning the crew was scheduled, the weather was cold, with temperatures in the 20s. David notified me that they would be running late due to the weather, which was not a problem. Once the three-man crew did arrive, they wasted no time listening to my job specifications and getting to work. They pulled up a 14'x14' area of concrete pavers, stacking neatly around the perimeter, put down the paver base and paver leveling sand (materials we purchased ahead of time from a retail store), and began replacing the pavers. The crew worked efficiently and with care, and was able to get through about 60% of the project. This is not a negative comment. It was a time-consuming job, and I made it clear I'd like to get as much done as possible within my budgeted labor hours and complete the rest myself. The option to purchase added time was offered, but not "hard sold." My husband and I probably took three times as long to get the rest done, but the crew set up the pattern to make it mostly idiot-proof!

BRAVO! Team was on time, professional, easy to communicate with. They had a list of things to be done from my phone call with the team lead. They performed all the work neatly and left the work site immaculate. They took all clipping with them.

This went really well, and I am very happy with the work. The yard looks great. In fact, several neighbors have commented on the new look, a nice touch! Wellspring was open, honest, and professional in all of my interactions with them. From the first, they were clear about how the work would be performed, and I had frequent opportunities to prioritize or direct the job. They were also upfront about haul-off charges, given the predicted amount of "yard waste" would require them to transport to a pay-for-use facility. Actually, I paid about $20 less than the estimate. There were many nice "touches" to the the scheduling and execution of the job. For example, although I bought an initial 8-hour block (2-man team for 4 hours), I didn't know if that was enough time. Probably close, but... David offered to schedule the job where the team could stay until any extra work was done. They did, if fact, finish all work in one visit. Another example. I was kept informed as the work progressed. I had opportunities to add, drop, or modify the work. One place this worked well for me is that I realized a tree was essentially dead when enough of the stuff in front was cleared. They went ahead and removed it, roots and all, in the same visit. (It was a mid-sized tree. I'm sure a large tree would have required significantly more safety precautions than could have been done without prior arrangement.) The only reason that I knocked them a little on Responsiveness is that it took just over a month between first contact and their arrival for the work, and it was more than a week before their first reply to my initial inquiry. Now, to be fair, this was a busy time of year, and there were rains between. I was also a new client, with the normal "set up stuff" that implies. Obviously, my B rating here suggests that I'm not too overly concerned. I've already spoken with the crew that was here about helping me replace some lost plants in Spring 2015. I'm pretty sure Wellspring will be at my house again.

They came out and removed eleven large shrubs, cleaned up the whole backyard, moved a bunch of dirt and filled a raised bed, also moved river rocks. The gentlemen, Kirk, called me beforehand to discuss the plan for the project. He confirmed the deal that we bought would work well for what we needed. They also let me know the extra hourly price if we did need it. We had a very clear understanding from the start. They were supposed to arrive a 8:30AM- arrived around 8:15AM to being. We spent 10 minutes going over everything that would be done. They started directly at 8:30AM. They had two guys that came through to do the work. What would have taken me a weekend or even three days to do took them 4 hours total. They brought all the right equipment to do all the work. They were so easy to work with. The guys that were here were extremely friendly! They worked extremely hard for the entire duration of the project. I would hire them again even at full price- they were that good!

They were very polite, communicative, the owner came out and checked twice. The crew that did the work were excellent workers, and I was very pleased.

The most impressive thing to me is how careful the owner was in making sure he knew precisely what would be done, would have the correct tools available to his workmen, and explaining the terms of the work (when they would arrive, how they would check with us before they started and 30 minutes before they ended). Very careful and thorough job by 2 polite young men who easily conversed with us, checked what we wanted, made suggestions of things we might have overlooked and even gave us an idea of how other things could be done in the yard.

Scheduling was prompt and David was pleasant and easy to work with. AJ and his team did a good job and everything is as we expected. Very happy with the work and will call the company again for spring maintenance and planting.

As stated above, Wellspring trimmed up 4 trees that weren't part of the original service request. They first had to get all the dead leaves off the front and back yards before any work could be done. They trimmed all the bushes and shrubs in both front and back yards so they were no longer covering the walkways. They cut and edged the lawn so now it looks like a green and neat front and back yard. They were so very nice, polite and well spoken. I plan on using this service from now on and would highly recommend them to anyone that asks for a reference.

They came on the appointed day, pretty much on time. They weed wacked the grass, trimmed our bushes and small trees and hauled everything away. I feel they did a great job, finished pretty much everything I had hoped and would use them again.

Two guys arrived as promised and since this was a special coupon I bought through Angies List I wasn't sure how it would all turn out. I could not have been more pleased. These guys worked hard and steady and checked often to see if I was o.k. with the work performed. Truly, I was amazed at how thorough they were and how great they were at clean up. The planter boxes looked like they had been there from the start they were so nicely installed. The trees looked great after trimming and they really cleaned up the area, not only the branches but used a blower and rake afterward to even get the loose leaves. They are awesome.

I had knee surgery over a year ago and had let our front yard beds get overrun with weeds and grass. Couldn't even tell where the edge of the bed was any longer. We also had a bed around our front tree and it was grown up with deep rooted weeds and trash trees. Our flower beds and yard were both a disaster and they worked miracles. They weeded, removed trash trees, and trimmed rose bushes. I was SO excited with the work! They were so efficient, I had not planned enough work for the time I had purchased. They cleaned up and took away all of the trimmings and left me with wonderfully clean beds that will be ready for Spring planting! Thank you!

They did a great job cleaning and trimming the landscaping, It looks really nice, got a lot of compliment on my yard.

The service performed matched what I needed in discussions with the salesman, David Pereira. I prepared a letter to David with photographs of the before and we discussed what tools were needed and how long the job would take. I was more than pleased with the job!

They were very nice and did a good job.

Workers were polite, friendly, invested in their job. And more than willing to do anything I asked of them. Consulted along the way -- two days in a row. Pre-inspection and planning decisions were done with an owner of Wellspring present, his tree experts (two visited my property before making decisions on how to proceed)... mulch was brought and applied... along with nutrient enriched soil. They are professional. They are personal. They care. Very comforting to know people run their business with this kind of standard and approach. i contracted them for a full year -- to administer to my property: the trees, bushes and lawn care on a yearly basis. Their prices are totally competitive... in fact lower than many individual gardening services and individuals. I was given cell phone numbers (of the owners and director of services) and urged to call them for ANY reason or questions. At any time. How refreshing is that? The response is always same day. By phone and/or email.

They were so good. I did not pay extra. My backyard was entirely covered with landscape rock (marble chips) that I wanted to relocate to the front yard. They raked it up, piled into a cart it, moved it to the front yard and put it where I told them to. They were very cheerful. They are hardworking and I had a good experience with them. I will definitely hire them in the future.
