My experience with Waterview Pools was nothing short of a nightmare. Their utter lack of organization, abysmal communication, and constant incompetence turned every step of the process into a debacle. It's astonishing how unprofessional they were, to the point where we had to write a Job Change Order for them because they clearly didn't know what they were doing. They missed the mark on the majority of their promised deadlines, leaving me exasperated. To top it all off, their refusal to honor their warranty and their ghosting of me afterward is the epitome of unethical business practices. I strongly advise anyone to steer clear of this company, as dealing with them was a horrific and costly mistake.

Waterview (Cody M.) designed and built our pool in 2019. It is now a tear down and rebuild due to bad materials. HE HAS NO INSURANCE!!! He lied to us about having insurance. Now we are stuck trying to sue his subcontractors. He looked at me and my family and told us he will not help us with any of this. We are left with a worthless pool that will cost at least $30K to demo and repair the yard, and if we were able to rebuild it another $150K. I am open to meeting/talking to anyone wanting to use this company. You are welcome to come see this mess in person. I have all paperwork and communications to back up this review.

My wife and I have been having nightmare with Cody (WaterView Pools) since 2019. There were countless problems during and after the completion of the pool. What we have experienced with WaterView Pool (Cody) is the followings: • Serious leak issues (see photos) and Cody has no experience whatsoever and trying to fix with his guys just to cover up and not able to find the source of the leak(so many ridiculous stories). This took more than a year to found out broken pipe under the spa, replaced but there are so many cracks inside and outside already due to the leaks. Cody refused to hire experts and trying to use his own guys with little experience and save money. Since spring 2020, our pool has been emptied 3rd times to repair leaks repeatedly and still hasn’t been completed. • Cody has never ever managed or supervised any steps with ay subcontractors whatsoever. They even miscommunicated with a pool gunite company(very important step) and the pool height was incorrect and that was just beginning. • His guys messed up my fence and didn't even cap the irrigation line before digging. They were just so reckless, and Cody had no control of them. • Cody/his guys had no detail plan on anything. We had coping stone and tile installation issues, a filter cap issue(we wasted a ton of water and messed up our backyard and fence), skimmer leak issue, water heater issue, missed installing underwater pool light, huge water loss, etc... • They turned off our septic system from last year and our backyard have been messed up. I spent so much money and time, but WaterView Pools(Cody) is not putting my pool in his top priority. Cody says ‘I am trying…blah..blah..’ but taking a year and half and we couldn’t use our pool last year more than a month and we can't use our pool since March this summer. Avoid Cody if you want a stress-free building pool process. He has horrible management skills and not capable of doing anything!

It’s been over 365 days and our pool still isn’t finished. We began our pool experience in October 2018. We are still dealing with incomplete work and quality problems. This has been our experience. We found Waterview through Angie’s list. They offered a 6% discount. Cody said that discount was in error and they had asked Angie’s list to remove it. He only partially honored the discount. As Angie’s list members we still find their coupon posted in magazines and in the website. We met at our house. We described what we wanted in the pool, how deep we wanted it, where we wanted the deep end and how many benches we wanted. When the build started we did not receive what we drew out together. The deep end was put in the middle! One bench wasn’t in the right spot. It had to be corrected. Not once. Twice. The pool plaster was done so poorly they had to redo it 3 times. It is still streaky in some parts. We are told this is normal. It wasn’t our experience with the pool builder from our previous house. We did not have pool school. He didn’t even get our pool properly running as one of our skimmers wasn’t functioning and our chlorinator had no tabs. Heck the equipment was still wrapped in plastic. We were even told to take a water sample to Leslie’s and figure it out. We did not receive any pool chemicals in a start up kit - no tabs or acid and had to ask to get the pole, scrubber and net. The contract says we were supposed to get a vacuum. We don’t have that. One skimmer basket was damaged and is missing the handle. One trade would damage work from another trade. The plaster company plastered the lights in. They had to fix it. They stained our pool chair and pool decking. The pool auto leveler wasn’t hooked up to the water supply. Then it wasn’t functioning properly. It’s just cheap toilet parts. The lights in the pool were installed incorrectly. Pool was excavated for dome lights but the electrician installed smaller LED lights. Plaster guys were going to plaster in loose lighting fixture until we asked if there should be a fitting installed. They had the wrong sized fittings too. They used a hand saw to retro-fit it. The pool decking looked awful. We have cracks, we’re missing color, they sprayed all over the stairs without cleaning up. For more than 4 months we have asked for help to resolve. Cody said he would ensure it would be fixed and the decking people weren’t calling him back. The decking guy said the pool builder never called. Who is telling the truth? We paid another $900 to find a reputable company to do what they couldn’t after 4 months. Around the exterior of the pool, we had rebar sticking out of the concrete and had thin metal wires poking out. We had wood forms visible on the sides and back of the pool. We had to be told by our pool decking repair company that was wrong and the pool wasn’t finished properly. We had to make Cody get his crew back to fix it. They would not pick up their trash. We had to beg for him for months to pick up their trash. They left a torn up tree on the property for months. We still have chunks of concrete and pool coping around in our land. The pool coping wasn’t secure. It was cracking and we could move it with our hands. That had to be repaired and after many calls they came, removed the coping and re-secured them. Naturally that means the rubber-like grout around the coping is broken and missing and needs to be repaired. More than 2 months later and it’s still not been repaired. We keep calling. We get nowhere. Cody, the owner, had no project manager, had non-English speaking labor that could not communicate with us and Cody was never onsite to facilitate. Cody never inspected their work. Cody never even checked the pool to ensure it was finished. It’s not that he didn’t come over. He did. He just didn’t do anything but look at plaster or say how nice our house and pool looked. We are over a year on a project that should have been done in 4 months. We still have a repair that needs to be made. For a year, promises have been made and promises broken. We couldn’t be more disappointed. So you judge for yourselves if this is a pool building experience you want.

I cannot recommend Cody strongly enough. We interviewed 3 pool builders, all would have done a good job, but I felt there were things they really did not "want to do". I felt it was not in their business plan to review options we felt were important to us. They were open to it, but tried to talk us out of it for one reason or another. I suspect it was to keep “their” costs down. We were looking for a pool builder that would listen to us. We were looking for a geometric shape pool that matched our home. We prefer a classic pool and deck design versus the "bean shape" with flagstone decking and coping. Most builders wanted to put is in "their" pool mold. Seemed to be a reason for that, bean shape pools are a bit cheaper to make (less perimeter and less structure needed), and do not need to be built to as exacting dimensions. Hard to hide errors with geometric shaped pools. Of all the builders, Cody listened to us and designed a pool WE love. He did make suggestions, but not because that is what would save “him” money... he designed a pool and made suggestions that complemented our vision. Cody has been at this a while, and I know why... he listens and designs what his customers desire most. But a good design is only part of it. His contractors are top notch, true craftsmen and make it all happen. I was also impressed with extras added in the structure of the pool (more steel). Cody could save a few bucks as the bigger builders do, but why? I appreciate that, and in the end I think our pool is built with more integrity and quality then would have otherwise have been. Continuing with quality, the equipment selected was top notch, even down to the pool kit. Again, most large builders save a few bucks per pool, and when you build so many pools maybe it ads up. But how does that help your pool? Cody would not want cheap stuff in his pool and he builds yours with that in mind. I firmly believe what motivates Cody most, is how his work provides a lifetime of memories for the kids (young and old). Talk to Cody... you deserve to get the pool YOU want!

These guys are fantastic! They designed a great pool, fit around our existing landscape plans, showed up and worked hard. From the minute digging started, through rock and plumbing, to plaster and filling, they were there, working **** ** every detail. Each craftsman was a true pro and perfectionist. The guy who did the plumbing, Nacho, measured every cut so that all of the visible plumbing was level, and even used clear primer so that there wouldn't be ugly purple lines around those pipes. The guy who did the digging was truly an artist. While he was using a several ton backhoe, it was like an extension of his hand, especially when it came to shaping curves. At one point he was an inch shallow, on limestone. He didn't shrug his shoulders and stop, he kept digging until we were at the right depth. We have a beautiful pool and deck to show for it, and highly recommend this company to build your backyard dream.

I cannot recommend Cody and Waterview Pools enough! My wife and I had interviewed many other pool contractors and were about to make a decision on one of the others but had been referred Cody's contact information and wanted to hear from one more contractor...and we are glad we did! Unlike all the rest Cody was able to capture our vision of what we wanted in a pool, but most importantly he understood and materialized what we wanted in a total outdoor living area! From the concept drawings all the way to the construction completion Cody captured every detail that we desired and was able to accomplish this within our budget and time frame. We started the Pool in February and despite all of the rain he was still able to complete the pool in time for the Summer! Not only was Cody a pleasure to work with his multiple crews were true craftsmen and very professional! Unlike other contractors, Cody only uses the same labor crews who understand the level of integrity and craftsmanship that a Cody McFadden Waterview Pool requires! I would highly recommend Cody and Waterview Pools to anyone who is searching for that outdoor oasis! Keith C.

I cannot say enough about our experience with Cody and Waterview Pools! From the first meeting Cody was very attentive to our every need and desires for a New Pool! Unlike the other pool contractors Cody listened and was able to take our Vision and capture it in every detail! One thing that drew us to Cody was the fact that he only uses the same crews to do all of the work ensuring that they would protect the level of integrity and craftsmanship that a Cody McFadden Waterview Pool requires. From start to finish Cody exceeded all of our expectations! I want to thank Cody and his team for making our dreams of an outdoor oasis right outside our backdoor a reality!

Not great. A check was written to start the project in June 2014 and the pool project is still not completely done. There are good and bad parts to the pool. Stones around the coping don't match, the tile is beautiful, but not even around the pool. Poor stones used for the coping are breaking. Mortar didn't seal correctly and has cracked. Etc. We have had to pay ourselves to get the electrical finished, as no one would return calls about finishing the work, or no one would turn up with correct equipment. Because there was no construction supervisor to check work done, we became the construction managers. There was so much stress involved with calling workers and Cody, and not sure if someone would respond, or turn up to do work. We tried to watch the details, but not knowing what to look for, there are now problems still pending with the pool. There was a leak in the pool we tried to get Cody to take care of, but that didn't happen for three months. As a result, we paid out over $600 each month for water leakage until it was corrected. Also, the auto fill didn't work properly, luckily my husband fixed it, as no one else seemed able. I could go on, but just wanted to let you know, every part has been a struggle. I wish we had hired someone else to do our pool, hopefully it wouldn't have been the nightmare this has sometimes been. Cody seems like a good guy, but he doesn't seem too concerned with our water expenses, hiring out for electrical problems, etc. These really were his expenses. We were stuck with them. We would like to look at the pool and enjoy it, but we see the poor quality workmanship that could be fixed, if Cody would ever respond. We would also like to be finished with all the details pertaining to the pool. At this point it will probably be up to us to pay someone else to complete the rest of the work. This is not pleasant, since we paid approximately $120,000 and over already to Cody. For that you would think he could have been a little more ethical. I would not recommend him to anyone.

During the construction of our pool Cody was very responsive to text messages if we had any questions and he would stop by to see how things were going. We only had one minor thing pop up that we had a question about and it was handled by Cody immediately and efficiently. His years of building pools really show in his customer service which is really hard to find these days. You can tell Cody has been in the business for years for a reason.
Description of Work: Cody met with us on several occasions prior to starting our pool to discuss our ideas and he gave us some of his own ideas, which by the way were great ideas on his part. He gave us drawings of what he thought we would like for our approval prior to starting construction. How exciting to see what it was going to look like before we even got started. We had ample time to ask all the questions we needed to, discuss all of our options and know without a doubt what to expect throughout the construction process.

Cody is the pool guy who will design the exact pool you want and then build a great product at a very fair price. Cody's professionalism and experience is evident the first time you meet him and continues well past the completion of the project. He presented us with a variety of design choices and worked with us extensively to add in the style, features and finishes we really wanted. All of his subcontractors were excellent craftsmen and performed their work efficiently. The pool equipment supplied was the best available on the market. Our yard is now an oasis worthy of a resort. Our friends and neighbors provide compliments every time they see the pool. I highly recommend Cody as an honest and competent pool builder who will provide you a quality product exactly the way you want it at a very fair price.

Description of Work: We have lived in our home for 18 years and always wanted a pool but had been told more than once, it would be tough to put one in our back yard. Finally we decided if we can't build a pool we would move but we also called Waterview and asked them to give us their ideas. They were able to do what no other pool company had. The pool is in the perfect location in our yard and makes the most of the available space. In addition, Waterview added a hot tub and outdoor kitchen that are the perfect complement to the pool and our back deck. The pool fits seamlessly into our back yard and we are extremely happy with the quality and the look. Waterview was able to accomplish what others could not. We highly recommend them.

We contacted Cody to build a pool for us in the fall of 2014, and by Christmas our project was finished. Overall, we are very satisfied with the finished project. The build quality seems excellent, and the design of the pool and deck is just as we had pictured. Cody offered some helpful suggestions about the design including a tanning ledge which is our favorite feature and where we spend the most time. The price overall was not cheap but very fair considering the scope and quality of the work. He even managed to get us a deal on some Luderstone to help manage the cost of the decking. He was present himself at almost all stages of the construction and his team of subcontractors were all very friendly and trustworthy. If there is anything I can be critical of, we had some minor communication mishaps along the way, mostly about scheduling of different subcontractors, but I think those are inherent to any construction project. Now, 6 months after the pool project is complete and paid for, Cody still responds to our requests for help with the pool, and has made good on his guarantee of satisfaction and quality.

Overall the project went really well. Cody McFaddin owned other pool companies before Waterview and has built quality pools in the Austin area for years. He knows his stuff, and he knows who to use to ensure the job is done well. He is enjoyable to work with and is also a really nice guy. I was pleased by the subcontractors Cody uses for his jobs. The majority of the crews consisted of hard workers that were highly competent and skilled in their crafts, and willing to put up with my oversight. I am particular on details. As an engineer, I have enough knowledge of construction and construction failures to annoy crews just doing their job. I greatly appreciate that his crews would answer my questions, listen to my requests for changes, let me adjust things as we went along. They would accept my input, were patient with me, and they would provide their ideas to improve upon mine. His rock crew is especially awesome. We waited for a couple weeks for them to become available, and they were worth the wait. The finished product looks beautiful thanks to their work. As with any large project, we ran across a few hiccups. Most of these were worked through easily, and I attribute this to Cody and his crew's willingness to get things right. His crews had me select an alternate coping stone because my initial stone choice was too soft. I appreciated that they told us we needed a better stone. While I debated the new choices, they were patient with me, and even made an extra trip to talk through the new choices while I debated the decision an extra day. The most significant hiccup was an employee with the subcontracted plaster company had an employee that attempted to dump the acid wash into the preserve behind my home without neutralizing it. I had to stop work on the employee and call in his supervisor and Cody to come out to ensure the acid hadn't etched the finish too much while we waited for the employee to get neutralizing base at the store. The supervisor ensured me the employee had been trained on proper procedures and was going rogue, but I still hold Marshall Plaster accountable, as this employee was performing work for their company. Cody was great through this entire episode. He also came out to ensure everything was okay. Through the project and even afterward he is always very responsive with any issues. The final product turned out fabulous. If you are thinking of remodeling or installing, I offer my thoughts. 1) Your yard will inevitably take significant abuse. Our sprinkler zones by the pool needed to be rebuilt. Grass and plants needed replanting. We dealt with this separate from the pool project. It may be helpful to clarify expectations on who is responsible for damage incurred. 2) Give the contract a detailed look upfront prior to signing. Cody does a good job of meeting the contract terms, but we had several scope adjustments that caused our pricing to go upward. For some items, I knew the contract did not match our desires, and I should have had him adjust these things prior to starting the work to have a better picture of our costs. In other instances, the pricing increases were due to changes we made clearly beyond the scope of our original bid. Although I believe Cody was fair in his price additions, it would have been nice to firm costs at the beginning of the project for things we knew we wanted. For example, we knew we wanted Luder coping instead of Flagstone coping. 3) If you care about details, a pool remodel will consume a lot of time. I spent many hours running to various vendors contemplating stone, tile and coping choices. I laid out the curves for the concrete decking. I spent a lot of time reviewing their work, and speaking to the crews about various aspects of the project. While Cody can make recommendations, he is happy to give you the freedom to make your own choices. If I had to do it over again, I would absolutely hire Waterview pools. They weren't the cheapest bid we received, but Cody exudes confidence that he will build the pool you desire, and he delivers.
Description of Work: Waterview Pools performed a major remodel on our pool. They jack-hammered out the old pool decking, installed a new coated pool deck, replaced the coping, replastered the pool with Finest Finish Radiant Fusion Blue Frost, raised the hot tub, added additional jets to the hot tub, replaced hot tub piping, installed a water fall and a low wall, upgraded the pool and spa drains to code, replaced several sections of pool piping, replaced the pump, all valves, and installed an automated control system.

I was reluctant to build a pool after hearing horror stories. Working with Cody and WaterView Pools there were no horror stories at all. He said 6 weeks to complete and it was 6 weeks. Everything he said he would do he did and then some. He was very responsive to calls and emails and answered all my questions. I have a beautiful pool that the entire family is enjoying. I would definitely recommend Cody to friends who want to build a pool. Top notch service and workmanship!

Waterview Pools completed our beautiful swimming pool in 9 weeks; that was from contract signing to filling the pool with water. The owner of the company, Cody, says the build time may be a record. Cody?s design was excellent and it was followed perfectly during the build. We are very pleased with the pool, and also pleased with the crews that worked on it. A possible exception is the crew that removed the decking and pool forms as their cleanup could have been better. We recommend Waterview Pools.
Description of Work: The builder designed the pool, purchased the building permit, coordinated crews that dug, plumbed, formed, blew gunite, and installed equipment for the pool. Also, he coordinated a crew that formed and blew concrete for decking, and he had a pool service man trained us to care for the pool.

I had sent an email through Angie's List to contact and get a bid on installation of pool and spa. I ended up having to call Cody. He did come promptly after the phone call. It was downhill from there starting with "You are so lucky that I came here." Not really a welcoming start when I was going to pay him. After describing what I wanted - pool and spa installatiion - he asked how much I wanted to spend. I told him fifty thousand. He then said, " Everything you want is very expensive and if that is your budget I might as well leave right now." I wasn't really enjoying the experience with Cody, but wanted to see what he would come up with.. None of the other pool designers had said it was going to be expensive or that they couldn't,t work with a budget. I told Cody that that was the starting point and I understood I might have to spend more. The best part - I never heard a word back from Cody. No call, email, or proposal even though I had sent the necessary plot specs.

There are times when a service provider and potential customer are not on the same page, and while I think this was one of those times, it does not excuse any unpleasantness our interaction caused you. I sincerely apologize. You probably noted that the other reviews mentioned my care and responsiveness. I take my role to exceed expectations seriously, and work hard to deliver the best and most beautiful work possible. I hope that you found a pool builder to your liking and that you now have a lovely pool at your home that you will enjoy for years to come. Best regards, Cody
