Team worked well together and completed the job in a efficient and timely manner. Workmanship was quite acceptable. The only "complaint" was that they could have been a bit more fastideous in cleaning up the flakes of old paint that had been blasted off by the pressure washing. I will certainly ask Jim to bid on any future painting wark we have.

It was a pleasure dealing with Jim. He arrived on time for every appointment and his pricing was very competitive. Jim is a true professional and his attention to detail was amazing. They turned my tired old house into a beautiful home. Jim and his staff went the extra mile to meet and exceed my expectations.

This is the second time we have used Ultra service. As before, Jim Kuykendall came out and gave us a very reasonable bid and had several suggestions for how to reduce expenses. His crew showed up on time as scheduled and were all very pleasant, efficient and CLEAN in their work. Flaco, the crew chief, handled several small "add ons" and even was able to repair a water stain on the celing with an excellent color match. They did the "little things" as well, such as reattaching the washing machine, replacing furniture, etc. we continue to really appreciate the quality of the work done by this company - and already have a plan to have them do a small office for us next !

Had 3 estimates for power washing, replacement of damaged trim around chimney and a couple windows, and exterior painting. All three companies were in the ball park with price. Although Ultra came in a little under the other two. Decided to go with them because of the rave reviews on Angie's List. Jim came and did estimate. This process was very smooth. Had to wait a few weeks as this was a busy time for them and they do the work themselves (Do not contract out!!!!) This was a positive for me. Flaco and team arrived on a Sunday to pressure wash, came back Monday to do wood replacement and paint trim. They came on Tuesday to paint. I came Tuesday and did a walk around with Flaco. The work was exceptional. The team was very professional and paid attention to detail. Also decided to have the front door sanded, stained and sealed. Again - great price and superior workmanship. I would definitely use them again and have already given their contact information to a neighbor.

I contacted three companies for a bid on painting our home. Jim Kuykendall with Ultra Services Company was not the highest bid nor was he was the lowest. He stood out because he took the time to answer my questions, give suggestions and made me feel at ease about the entire process. I had read the reviews on Angie's list and felt confident in hiring him. I had to wait several weeks due to his schedule, but the end result was more than worth it. Jim stayed in contact with me prior to the start date. I had chosen the primary color for the exterior of our home and the trim color. At Jim's suggestion, they painted a small section on the house so I could see what it would look like. As soon as it went on, I realized I had picked the wrong colors. Jim suggested two different colors that he felt would look good with our limestone. I trusted his suggestion and they turned out to be a wonderful match. This is an example of how he took the time to do things right. They did a beautiful job on the interior trim and doors. They were careful in handling the furniture. The only thing that I didn't like (and Jim warned me about it) is the paint is oil based and smells for several days. However it was manageable with the windows open. His crew showed up on time each day. His head painter, Flaco, was great to work with. They were all very kind and professional. Jim came by each day to check on the progress. We will not hesitate to use Ultra Services Company in the future. I would highly recommend Jim Kuykendall for the painting of your home.

We received numerous quotes for painting the exterior of our home. Jim and his team were a fair price but we ultimately chose him due to his knowledge, clear professionalism and his straight forward approach with us. His crew was delayed slightly from his original start date due to the rain in the springtime. Jim communicated with us that he was backed up and then let us know exactly when he was planning to start the job again. Jim and his crew were on time each day. They left our home very clean each day before they went home. We had a small issue with the look of some shutters he replaced and how they matched our existing shutters. I sent an email to Jim asking what kind of solutions he could offer and he called me within 15 minutes of my email and had his guys back within a few days once we agreed upon the fix. The service was very good as was the quality of the paint job. I highly recommend Jim and his crew.

The owner of Ultra Service Co. Jim Kuykendall was very quick to answer my call and to come out and give us a bid on painting. Jim arrived on time or a little early to bid the job and was on time or a little early every other time that we agreed to meet. All of my phone calls were returned by Jim very quickly. He came out every morning during the job to see how things were going and get any comments that we had. He was great to work with. The painting crew of 3 arrived at the stated time or a little early each day and cleaned up the grounds every day before leaving. They were all very courteous and pleasant. I have two dogs who didn't find anything left by the painters that they could eat or shred in the yard. That's a first!

Jim and crew provided one of four exterior painting bids. His bid came in in the middle. While I'm sure any of the companies who bid would have been fine, Jim stood out b/c he seemed to provide a little more information/insight when he came out on the quote on things to consider on the repairs. He had a crew that seems to work with him a little more closely.The job got delayed b/c of rain, but once he and his crew came out, they were very consistent and thorough. They arrived and left every day at the same time like clock work. Jim also came by daily to check on his crew. I think in that role you need someone like Jim coming around to do quality control along the way. Jim came for the final inspection and we walked around the house with him. His crew fixed any issues we noticed on the final walk around. We were all so focused on the house and deck that we didn't do a walk around on the well house or shed, which also needed some small touch ups and some small trash pickup. However, Jim sent his guy back early the next morning to take care of the issues. We found Jim easy to work with, friendly, and dependable. We'd use Ultra's services again in the future.

As soon as the crew arrived, they got straight to work. Jim came by each day to check the progress, speaking with the crew and homeowner. The crew was friendly and always helpful. They did everything they said they were going to do as the job progressed. They did many small tasks as needed to complete the job. They went way above what others would have done. A few days later, I noted a few french doors upstairs that needed some detail. When I called, they came right out and completed the work! My house looks great and we are very pleased with the dramatic change! We hope to hire them in the future for interior work as well! Thanks Jim, Flaco and the crew!

The owner personally showed up and gave an estimate of the work to be preformed, he was right on time and friendly. I received 3 bids and this was the one I went with because of price and because it included the same work quoted by a much more expensive company. After the bid I accepted it and I was told up front how far out they were scheduled, (3-4 weeks). This gave us time to decide on a color, a few days before the work was to start I was contacted to confirm everything including the color schema. Day of service the workers showed up and tackled the job at hand in no time, from there we waited a day to allow the exterior and caulk to dry and after that the primer was completed, allowed to dry over night. Third day paint was done and the crew cleaned up the mess that had been made and even brought our trash cans up from the curb! The crew were all very polite, professional and punctual.

Did the work requested plus repaired some rotting siding found during prep.

I have an unusual home. It is on a hillside and it is definitely not a rectangular box. Painting this house presented certain challenges for the crew. At places, it is basically a 4 story drop to the ground. Jim, Flaco and the crew did just what they promised for the cost they quoted. They were not the cheapest and they were far from the most expensive. Of five quotes, I went with them because I had a good feeling about about their professionalism. My confidence was rewarded. There were a couple of things that I assumed would be done that were not quite agreed to up front because it is simply too difficult to capture everything on the initial walkthrough. It could have been a real problem, but Jim and his crew simply took care of it. Also, one of the back decks of my home was not done to my satisfaction and they absolutely made it right. Another thing that seems small, but it wasn't to me: Flaco and his crew seemed to enjoy themselves as they worked. There was laughing, and good natured kidding, and energy in their work. Much better than workers who are bored and tired of the daily routine. The crew that painted our home were not only good workers, they were good people. There are certainly a number of excellent painters in Austin. Jim, Flaco, and their crew are at the top of my list.

The crew showed up just as expected at the agreed upon time and date. The response time was quick and they were able to start the job the same week we signed the contract. The crew was very professional and cleaned up as they went. They asked questions when it was not clear what paint color was going where. I picked out the three colors of paint but Jim was very helpful in giving advice on colors. A couple of time weather became an issue but in those cases Jim called or e-mailed to let me know when the crew would be back. One of the things I discovered after the work got started is the Ulta can also do repair work. If you have associated work that goes with the paining be sure and ask if they can do it. I probabaly would have saved us some time if we had.

This was one of 4 companies that I got qoutes on- all highly rated on Angie's List. Jim was prompt in coming and giving us a bid. He seemed to really listen to what we wanted and expected. His bid was not the lowest but definately not the highest but I will say that I felt it was the most straightforward. I ultimately chose this company based on the comfort level that I had with Jim and a feeling that he would make sure the job was completed well. I am glad we went with this company. When we ended up using some paint we already had, he deducted the paint charge from our final charge. This sounds like something that would be expected except for the fact that we asked him to paint some entry gates in the front of our house (not included in the original bid) and he didn't charge extra. This is the FIRST time I have ever had any work completed at the house that was actually a little less than the actual bid. My husband was the one that spoke to the workers on site. He is very particular about the house and plants surrounding it and was impressed by the crew. They were very careful, cleaned up every day and made sure that we were happy with the job. When the work was completed, Jim came and walked the job with us to inspect it and make sure we were satisfied. We will definately use this company again in the future.

The company was prompt to respond to my call, come out for the estimate, and give me a price. The price wasn't the cheapest, but it did come in at much less than I thought it would be. The owner was exact with everything, and I could tell from the get go that they would be doing a complete job. The painters showed up on thursday to power wash the house, friday was for carpentry, and the house was finished 2 days later. I was VERY IMPRESSED with how fast they got everything done and the amazing job they did. I did notice a couple of concerns on the walk through, but they were fixed immediately. I would definitely use this company again and they are highly recommended.

We found Ultra Service via Angie's List. Jim came out to our place twice to look it over and talk to us about our options and his recommendations. He was punctual, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. After we agreed on the job we were going to have to wait a couple of weeks for his crew to be available, but then Jim phoned and said some time had freed up, so we were able to get this completed faster than we had expected. His crew did an excellent job, powerwashing and cleaning the house, caulking, and then painting. They were friendly, cleaned up after themselves, and had some good advice for us on the house. When we weren't sure if a particular color scheme was going to work, Jim said they'd paint it a particular way, and then if we didn't like one piece of the trim we weren't sure about, they'd paint it again at no charge. Overall an excellent experience. These are the kind of folks you come to Angie's List to find.

My husband initially contacted Jim for a quote to get our house repainted. Jim stopped by soon after, did a thorough walk around and helped calm my fears on picking an insane color (I have a history of bad color choices!). He said he'd get back in a day or so with a quote, but instead got the quote to me within two hours. I had a date by which I wanted my house painted, and he assured me that he would easily meet that deadline. When it came time to do the prewash, I misunderstood and forgot to put my dog in the house for the day. Jim was really understanding and happily rescheduled to a different date. Then when he came to wash it, my dog had busted through her closed dog door. He was once again really understanding and helpful. Needless to say, I boarded my dog on the actual paint day. On the day of, his crew was one man short. They worked all day but didn't quite finish, so they came back to complete their work the next morning. I stayed home and was able to look over everything. When I did the walk around with Flaco (his lead) everyone was still finishing up. I was really happy with their work and called the job done. We were impressed with the attention to detail they exhibited and the choices they made on where to paint which color. Since I had a lot of trepidation on color selection, I picked the colors but deferred to Jim and his men on where to paint which color. Their work brought out features in our early/mid eighties house that I hadn't noticed and now it looks modern and not quite so cheesy. I should add that although the work appeared complete, when we later looked around, we realized that some scraped paint and a few screws were on the ground, in addition to a spot that had been missed in the original paint job. When I let Jim know that there were these issues, he and Flaco came by the house and fixed everything. In all I've been satisfied with Jim's professionalism, punctuality and understanding when I goofed up. He quickly fixed his mistakes and was always pleasant. I would recommend him to anyone wanting their house painted.

Overall a very positive experience! Scheduling was a bit imprecise, but this was due to the fact that Ultra is a small business that does not use subcontractors - for me, that easily outweighs the minor inconvenience of not knowing *exactly* when the work would begin. They did a great job and never left a mess even though the work took several days.

A couple of things made Ultra Service different than the other companies I talked to (and I spoke with three other companies who received top ratings from Angie's List). First, Jim's quote wasn't the lowest, but it was on the lower end by more than $1000, and Jim even lowered his quote slightly when I told him I'd received a lower one. Second, Jim's schedule was so busy they couldn't paint the house for almost a month. I didn't choose this company because they were cheap and/or ready to start painting immediately. Why didn't I go with the lowest quote? Because that guy seemed kind of sleazy, and because his company wasn't certified to work on houses that might have lead paint; he said they'd have to bail on the job if they tested and found it underneath the current layers. I'm so happy I took seriously all the good reviews on Angie's List. The workers were punctual and efficient, and the job was done in exactly the amount of time Jim predicted. And the house looks absolutely great. Sometimes you don't make choices based on lowest price alone -- you make them because the businessperson has offered a FAIR price as well as straightforward, businesslike performance, and that's what you get with Jim.

The painters were professional, hard working and took the time to ensure all items were to my satisfaction. They did an excellent job on my house and were even recommended by my neighbor who used their services earlier this month.I highly recommend this company and the team.Flaco, the team leader even took the time to hang a difficult to reach painting and smiled in spite of the horrible heat! I expect to use their services again in the future and have given their business cards out to several friends.

The owner came several days before and assessed the situation and put us on his work list. He came out with two painters and they were experts at what they did. They worked very diligently the whole time they were there. They were all very courteus, showed up on time, and did a great job. They were very willing to work with us on getting the paint color just right and make any changes that might be needed. The job need to be done just right for it to look right and that is exactly how it turned out.

They started when they said. Power washed the house--windows got very dirty. Returned when they said to replace siding and other repairs, and painting. Cleaned everything up every day that they were here. Finished on time AND CLEANED THE WINDOWS. I have never had anyone do work here that paid so much attention to EVERY SINGLE DETAIL!!!!!! If anyone in Austin, needs the exterior of their house painted/and/or repaired, call these people.

Jim replied immediately to our inquiry and promptly arranged to give us a quotation for the work. Quite by chance, we were out-of-town when the actual painting was done. We received almost hourly reports from Jim by email, including pictures. Whenever a question came up, Jim called us to make sure what we wanted done. The cost was very, very competitive and the quality of the work was superior in all respects. Additionally, the entire crew was pleasant and hard working. We are extremely pleased.

Ultra Services did a great job in repairing and painting both the exterior and interior of my house. I was happy with the price charge and I feel it was a great value for the quality of work and materials used. Jim has his own crew so they are experienced and stand by their work. I would, and have, recommend them to my freinds.

The contact person from Ultra Service Company was very responsive. He followed up on their quote so see if there were any issues or questions. He was on time with everything. I was not comfortable using them because I had another company bid lower than them. I would consider using Ultra Service Company in the future.
