I called Jim Kuykendall with Ultra Service Co. to come to my home and give me a bid to paint all exterior wood surfaces. Jim and I walked around house as he explained precisely what would be done. Jim is knowledgeable and explained different options for a siding repair. He had told me up front when I first called him that he would not be able to start the job for four to five weeks which was for fine for my schedule. Jim notified me about a week before that my job would start Monday morning 08/12/2013. On that date four workers showed up a little before 8 am and started the project. The house was power washed and gone were spider webs and mud daubers nests and the years of dust. Next came the caulking and sealing of crevices and old nail holes. Some of the painting was done by hand and some by spraying, also the siding was repaired. The crew also cleaned up all trash that was created by the job. My wife and I are very happy with the finished project and would definitely call Jim again.

Excellent: Jim worked with me on setting up the starting time and was helpful on other painting decisions. His crew showed up on time began working quickly to power wash the entire house. The next day they masked and painted. The next day the job was finished. The entire crew worked hard and gave me an excellent paint job! Note: Jim's onsite foreman was very easy to work with and very competent.

When we first contacted the owner, he advised us of the approximate time they would be available to do the job and the cost. He kept us informed of their schedule throughout the process. They were very careful to not drip paint and tape off areas so paint did not get on places where it shouldn't. We were so pleased with this company, the owner and the workers. They were very efficient at their job.

Jim was booked when I called and I had to wait 2 months but the quality of the workmanship , timely completion, clean up of the site was worth the wait. "Highly recommended"

I contacted Jim Kuykendall in March about painting and caulking an area on my house that is above the metal roof line. I am painting my house myself, but didn't feel safe climbing on the metal roof to paint this area. Jim came out within a day or 2 of my call, answered all my questions and said he'd send me the estimate in an email. He sent the estimate after I emailed him to ask what the cost was going to be. I got other estimates and his was the lowest. He informed me that it would be almost a month before he could get to do the work. I was not in a hurry, so we agreed. I called him when it got closer to the end of the month and we settled on a date . The guys who came out were quick to do the caulking and painting and cleaned up well when they were done. It looks great.

Jim was super easy to work with. Virtually every time I contacted him he answered immediately or returned my calls and emails quickly. He tolerated many questions and concerns before the project began and patiently provided necessary education. He's friendly, professional, and punctual. The same was true of his crew. They did an exceptional job, with high attention to detail. We were very worried about how it would turn out, but the final result was much better than we expected: absolutely no appearance of any repaired cracks in the stucco, no overpainting, etc. They completed the work in the time frame they said they would and they cleaned up so well it was as if nothing was different except for the new beautiful look to the stucco. Highly recommend them!

Jim and his team did an excellent job of painting our home, both inside and out. When questions arose, there was a discussion as to how to best answer the issue and it was resolved to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Ultra Service Company.

Did an awesome job. Flako and his crew of two were very nice and professional. Took them half a day to clean, a day to prep, and a day to paint. They also replaced all of the trim on our chimney. Jim's bid was the lowest by $700. It did take some time before they could paint my house due to a busy schedule and some weather delays. However, I was told this up front. Would definitely recommend them to all of my friends!

Ultra Service did an outstanding job. Had our bedroom painted for the first time in 24 years, there were several drywall cracks that needed to be repaired and it was done so well I couldn't tell cracks were ever there, the texture matched perfectly. They did a wonderful job of covering floors, covering the ceiling fan and arranging furniture so there were no spills. I chose them because they were willing to take down our existing blinds and move the furniture, other painting companies wouldn't do that -- it was a nice surprise that they are also great at their job. Had our fence power washed and painted. I was especially impressed with the care taken to cover so much of our house and the neighbor's house to prevent any spray of water or paint, they even covered our AC system. Had the garage ceiling repaired where another contractor did a poor job of taping and floating, it was falling down. Again, a perfect repair and painting of the area so I can't tell where the repair was. Their clean-up was excellent. Ultra Service did a great job and I highly recommend them, top-notch service and well deserving of their Angie's List rating.

Everything went extremely smooth. The crew was there every morning at 8 am ready to get to work. They worked extremely fast and did an awesome job. I was shocked at how quickly the put the first coat on the brick, which had never been painted, and how good it looked with just that. They then went back over it to touch up any thin or missed spots. All in all we are extremely happy with the job and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get their house painted.

Jim arrived to perform the estimate. Following the estimate, the scope was changed twice by my wife and I. Each change, he came out to survey to ensure that we were all on the same page. He quoted me a price, and stood by that price. Weather did push the schedule out a bit, but i'd rather have it done right and the delays were appropriate. Jim was on site daily, and his foreman was very professional and got the job done.

Jim and his crew were great! Very professional and pleasant to deal with. I had an area where a section of rain gutter was coming loose and one of the painters (Flaco) secured it for me. He also cleaned the leaves out of the gutters, all at no additional charge. They're good folks and they do good work.

Jim and Ultra Service Company were responsive to our request for a quote and helpful in deciding what really needed to be done. They were very flexible with our schedule, and once we agreed on a time for the job they meet all their commitments. We had our small interior patch and paint job done right away. We had a flexible scheudle, so Jim fit us into his schedule so it worked well for everyone. The job was small, but required two trips to patch and then paint. There was a problem with the patch that only became evident once the wall was painted, but Jim responded very quickly and fixed it perfectly the same day. We put our exterior painting job off several months, but once we decided to proceed we allowed Jim to work us into his schedule. He kept us informed and once we locked in a date his crews arrived as scheduled and completed the job in two days as planned. The house looks great and we couldn't be happier with the job Ultra Service did! Almost two months after the job was completed we were hanging Christmas lights and noticed some paint had dripped on the brick. We called Jim and he came out right away, and had his crew there within a few days to remove the paint. From start to finish Jim and Ultra Service Company provided great service, on time, and at a fair price. We are very happy with everything they did and would recommend them to all our friends and neighbors.

Ultra Service did a great job painting our house and staining the deck. Jim was very prompt with his emails about the timing of the job and keeping me informed as we got closer to the start date. He carefully explained the process step-by-step and answered all my questions in detail. The job started and finished exactly according to schedule. The quality of the work was great. The house and deck look like new. I have already recommended Ultra to two co-workers and will gladly use them again when I need exterior painting.

Ultra Services came on Tuesday and power washed the house. Then on Wednesday they came and did all the repairs and caulking and started painting Wednesday afternoon. Thursday they came and finished the main part of the house and on Friday they came and painted the trim and any touch ups that needed to be done. All in all it was a very professional job. Ultra Services is a very good company. Mr. Kuykendall is extremely nice and very knowledgeable. He had an estimate for us within a couple of days. The only thing negative is that his company and all his workers are so good that we had to wait a couple of months for our home to be painted. But it was well worth the wait. We would definitely recommend Ultra Services to all of our family and friends.

Jim came to do an estimate. After looking at the job, he told me that I should wait to have this done. What I wanted was not needed yet and I should not spend the money. That was very honest and saved me money. He could have done the job and made money but chose to be honest.

Excellent results. When the decision to go with Jim and Ultra Service Company was made, we were given a lead time for them to start work. Even though they were 8 weeks out I was okay with that because one of the reasons I chose this company was they run a single crew, with the foreman being with the company for 10 years and the owner being at the job site everyday. There was a slight delay due to weather but no one will complain about rain in Austin considering. They were prompt, worked quickly and did a very good job and I have recommended them to two other people with one getting a quote already. If you are going to paint the outside of your home or inside for that matter, I would certainly get a quote from Ultra Service Company.

They completed the work in a few days with a minimum of disruption. I highly recommend this company. I did have to wait 6 weeks because they were so busy, but I was told that up front. The actual cost came in a little under the bid. How often does that happen?

Ultra Service Company is an excellent company. They are easy to work with and the quality of their work is outstanding. They are thorough, careful and very detailed oriented. They cleaned up every afternoon before leaving for the day so they always left the house looking nice. They also allowed us to add on some extra jobs while they were here for a reasonable charge so we were very appreciative of this (our experience with other contractors and painters is that “add-ons” are often charged at very high rates). I highly recommend Ultra Service Company.

Work was done promptly when promised and professionally. I recommend and would use this company again. No problems.

Jim gave me a much better price than the other bids I got, plus a significant Angie's list discount. He is very professional and delivers exactly what he says he will deliver, plus a few extras. For example they also power washed my deck, repaired a spot with rotting wood, and painted the insides of the carport and doors. Jim is pleasant to deal with and is never "unavailable" like many others when you need to communicate with him. His crew is also very pleasant and professional. The paint job (after washing) took only a day and a half and the guys left everything clean and orderly at the end of both days. I didn't see one paint chip in my yard, even though the old paint had been peeling very badly. The new paint job looks amazing. And to top it off, the guys liked my dogs and even played with them! You can't go wrong with this company.

This was a great experience. From the initial quote to the completed job I was very happy with this company. The painting crew was very professional and did a great job. They clearned up very well when they were finished and were very careful during the entire process. The owner of the company came by almost everyday to check on progress and make sure I was pleased with the job. I would highly recommend this service.

Jim was very professional and knowledgeable. Their pricing was not the lowest but in the end it was very much worth the difference in price to know that it would be done correctly and by someone who will stand behind their work! Flaco did an excellent job and communicated very well to coordinate painting of the doors and when we could let the dogs back in the yard. I recommend Ultra Service Company.

We had been putting off painting the exterior of our home for some time. This resulted in some rotted wood around our chimney which a few neighborhood raccoons interpreted as an invitation to live within the walls of our home. We decided we would like to replace all the material around the chimney with Hardipanel (tough stuff) so that the local rodents wouldn't be able to keep coming back in. We received three quotes, and while Jim's wasn't the lowest, we were impressed with how thorough he was at looking over the house, and felt reassured that he had a single consistent work crew. We did have to wait about 8 weeks for them to get to our house, but once they got here they were super fast and we were very pleased with the work. Jim had to leave town just prior to our job, but his foreman Flaco was great and made sure we were well taken care of. Jim was also great about coordinating around our rodent exclusion. The paint job was indeed 8 weeks out, but his team came out early to fix up the chimney after our pest removal service gave us the all clear. Since the walls were pretty weak, we didn't want to give any other rodents a chance to get in, and we appreciated him accommodating our needs. Overall the job went well and we are very happy with the results. Worth the wait.

I spoke with Jim Kuykendall and I asked for an estimate to pressure wash, re-caulk, and paint the exterior of our 2,200 sf home. We scheduled an appointment within the next few days. He was very professional and gave us a very competitive and fair estimate. He explained thoroughly the process he followed and outlined that his crew worked for him directly and was not subcontracted. After getting other bids, we selected Ultra Services based on their price, qualifications, and high praise on Angie's List. Jim worked with us to schedule a time that would allow us to get the home painted quickly and allow us to put it on the market for sale. Work initially began on the 4th of July and was completed on July 6th. Jim's crew, led by Flaxo, was exceptionally polite and respectful.They spelled out exactly what they were doing each day and what times they would arrive. They were very punctual and did exactly what they promised. They even did some additional work for free when they power-washed the front porch bench and table when cleaning the house. We offered to move items from around the house to help, but they insisted that they would do it for us. They thoroughly cleaned the site and re-placed all items at the end of each day. I went around each day expecting to pickup small pieces of trash, but was pleasantly surprised to see the site completely spotless. We were very pleased and impressed with the quality and appearance of the finished paint job. This was our first time using Angie's List. We were very pleased with the entire experience. Jim and Flaxo were great to work with. It is refreshing to know that excellent customer service and workmanship is still alive and well.
