Description of Work: Ultra Services did a major remodel of the exterior of my house on Dowd Lane in late December and did a great job. They tore out a deck, replaced all the rotted wood around the house, repaired the wood that could be and then painted it. The job took a little longer than we thought due to inclement weather. They also lost a day when they pulled the crew to work on another house when a pipe burst and they needed to get that fixed immediately. Even then, I was kept informed of the delay so there were no surprises. I changed a couple of things after the job began, but their representative Mike always worked with me to make it a smooth job. Their crew was highly professional and very helpful at all times. They had to rehang an entry door because I changed my mind about the look, but they were willing to work with me. The only problem that arose was when they hauled off the debris. They had problems acquiring a trash container because their usual contact was unavailable. It took almost a week to get one, but once they did they not only loaded it immediately, when they realized it was not totally full, they offered my neighbors the opportunity to use it to remove any debris they had. Not only do I highly recommend Ultra Services for this type of work, I will certainly give them a chance to bid when I do the interior of my house.

Description of Work: Replace/paint rotted wood on trim and chimney. Sand and retain of front door. They were very professional and very punctual. The work was completed on time as promised and their prices were very fair. I would definitely use them again.

From the initial consultation, where he walked around the entire house and made suggestions and we talked about the cracks that needed to be filled, to his answering my questions over email, to helping me pick the trim color, to the actual painting, he was responsive and always committed to doing the best job possible. His crew leader (Flaco) was great also, taking meticulous care to make sure everything was done the way I wanted it and to my satisfaction. I must say our house looks great, thanks to the great job they did (and the great color I picked too!).

Our house was built in the 1930s and not sure if it has been painted since then, so needless to say there was quite a bit of cleaning, scraping, and repairing of rotten trim before they could begin painting, and they did a great job with a difficult house, it looks brand new. Jim and his crew were very professional, friendly, and were esponsive and easy to work with. We got several bids and Jim's was the most affordable and there were no additional charges, the final bill was the same as the estimate. We would absolutely hire these guys again and recommend them to anyone.

+ -1 moreI found Ultra Services on Angie's list and got a bid from them and two other recommended painters. Jim's bid was the lowest and when we met him, we felt very comfortable with his expertise. From the time that we hired him until the job was done, Jim was extremely helpful, prompt, flexible and efficient. And, we didn't pay a penny more than quoted bid. We wanted the house painted one color, the trim another color and the door and shutters a third color. Jim brought paint swatches for us to choose between and advised us on what would look the best. And, he was right! Jim, Flaco and crew went above and beyond what was required to make sure that we were happy with the job. They even agreed to come back after their job was finished and they had already been paid, because we wanted them to paint a NEW trim we put on the garage a couple of weeks later. That was wonderful!

The owner made suggestions and offered different options on various aspects of the job. He was flexible about changing the brand of paint, and patiently waited on our choice of colors. The owner and his crew were on time, friendly, easy to work with and finished the job quickly and thoroughly. They did everything as requested. Ultra Service Company is the BEST!!! We appreciate the excellent customer service, honesty and outstanding results. Communication was 110%. Our house looks as good as new and we highly recommend Ultra Service Company.
Description of Work: Replaced rotten siding with Hardi-Plank, washed and caulked siding, and painted exterior. The carpentry work and the paint job looks GREAT! We are thrilled with the results.

+ 1 moreThe owner, Jim, called us back promptly when we called for an estimate, and arrived to the appointment on time. He assessed the house, gave me a good idea of what to expect, offered helpful suggestions for colors, and quoted a very reasonable price. They were able to start the job earlier than expected, which was great. The workmen were polite and careful with our belongings, moving things out of the way and putting them back in place. They masked the brick, etc. perfectly. The job was finished on time and at the quoted cost.
Description of Work: Prepped and painted the exterior of the house. Powerwashed with a mild bleach solution to inhibit mold/mildew, recaulked, then painted with a good quality paint.

+ -1 moreFirst of all, this was a very challenging house to paint. It is two stories, with about one third of the roof line at almost a 60 degree pitch, and one pitched soffet at a height of about 40 ft. from grade. In addition, we needed the work done within a week, and the need to work around a landscape crew who were doing work at the same time. We also didn't have the original paint specifications, so Jim had to match this from samples taken from the house. The bottom line is, that Jim's crew did absolutely wonderful work of the highest quality, got along with the landscapers, and were careful not to damage plants, wooden decks, etc. I plan on referring Ultra Service to others in the area, and would absolutely use them again. Thank you Jim and Flacco.

+ 2 moreI had gotten a handful of opinions and estimates on how best to tackle this very damaged poolside wall, and Jim Kuykendall's was the most logical approach and the most reasonably priced. He was very detail-oriented, punctual and professional. I live out of town, so he was courteous enough to email me daily updates with detailed photos as the work progressed. The finished product is gorgeous and looks like the poolside wall I remember from when the house was brand new. Without a doubt, I would use his company again.
Description of Work: Completely ripped away an old, poolside stucco wall that had eroded and rusted over time. Replaced with new masonry wall and topped with two coats of elastomeric paint. Entire job took three days to complete.

From the request for an estimate to completion of the job, Jim Kuykendall (owner of Ultra Service Company, 2941 Sussex Gardens Lane, Austin, Tx. 78748, 512-519-9117) was always very courteous, professional and responsive. Jim responded to our request for an estimate right away (even though we requested an estimate on a late Saturday night) and emailed the bid within the next business day after seeing the rental house which is located in a small city outside of Austin, Tx. During the entire process Jim kept us updated on progress of the job via emails and digital photos which was perfect since we live in another city. Jim and his crew did an awesome and very professional job. The house looks great! We have been working on this rental house for the past year and have not had many interested parties. After having the house painted, we have had several individuals stop and inquire about it and hope to have it rented soon!
Description of Work: Painted exterior of house including metal roof and doors. Power washed, scraped loose old paint, caulked siding and trim joints and replaced damaged wood prior to painting. Recommended free online tools to assist in choosing paint colors. Put down a layer of primer and then applied three different colors (roof and trim one color, doors a second color and rest of house exterior a third color).

+ 1 moreJim and his crew are great! Jim came out a day after I called him, gave me an estimate, and his team started work within the week. All I had to do was go to a Kelly Moore and call Jim with the paint colors I wanted before they started work. Once I chose colors, he carefully listened to what colors were to go in each room. The work was completed within the time frame promised, and was completed in the way Jim and I discussed. He called me to let me know that they were finished a little earlier than expected. I did not initially find his company on Angie's list, but rather, I wanted an estimate from him because they painted the exterior of the condo complex months before. At that time, Flaco and the guys were always friendly and pleasant while doing quality work, every day for weeks. (Flaco even chased away a would-be bike thief that he noticed while he was on the job!) For the interior of my condo, they did not disappoint. Jim was always available to speak to me when I called him, and he provided fast, reliable, quality work at a fair price without the headache of worrying about what was happening on the job-site. Now I am proud of my condo which will soon be ready to rent out to a new tenant (awaiting new carpet)!
