They are pretty good. The owner Grant Lewis is a decent guy. He put in his share of time and the work. The result is decent. I would use The Remodel Pro again in the future.

He charges by the hour. The price was reasonable. I would absolutely use him again.

After initial prompt and courteous phone response I was optimistic I had found a handyman for general work around our home. Unfortunately that was the high point. I even went so far as to take measurements and pictures and email them to assist with a quote. I went further by waiving-off a trip by the contractor for a quote because they were across town and told him the following week was fine. I thought my courtesy would have been reciprocated. I was wrong. A subsequent email requesting status did not receive a response. I would appreciate professionalism "up front" by being told a job is too small or geographically challenging instead of being summarily ignored. I sincerely do not like giving such low ratings but I feel I owe "The List" an honest assessment.

Grant Lewis was a pleasure to work with. He kept us informed of the status of the project and of his comings and goings on a daily basis. He did high quality work, and on a few occasions re-did work that I was satisfied with until it was even better and to his satisfaction. He was fair in pricing - it was was not the cheapest estimate I received but well worth it for his license, experience, safety, communication and most of all reliability. He was not speedy - but we were not on a strict time line. When we did eventually have a deadline he stayed late and worked extremely hard and met the deadline even when I thought it would have been impossible. The only negative things which were minor were there were a few things left out of the original estimate that I had wanted to be done (which he immediately fixed) and there were a few handyman projects I would have had him do but we were up against a deadline - both were not a big deal. The project took longer than anticipated - however I expected this as well. I would highly recommend Grant Lewis and his associates and plan on doing business with him again.

The Remodel Pro did a great job. He was there quickly, gave us a reasonable bid and did the work well. I would use him again. UPDATE 6/15/2011 I called to see if Grant could give me advice and a bid for projects needed around the house to get it ready to put on the market. He walked through with me and gave me excellent advice on what we should do and wasn't necessary. He was very helpful- My sadness was in waiting for him to work up a bid for what he could do. He never got back to me- after a couple of weeks I left a message and still didn't hear back, then finally after 3 weeks I had to call and leave a message again that we would have to use someone else as we were needing these things done quickly. I was disappointed because he had done a good job last summer and gave great advice. Maybe a family emergency or another project, but it is frustrating not to hear back.

Grant was working daily in my South Austin house for almost 6 months. He did a beautiful job from installing the cabinets , to lighting, plumbing ,electrical, tiling the bathroom. I was very happy with the quality of his work. I continue to use him for any repairs I need. He just rebuilt a deck for me.

From the time Grant gave me an estimate I knew I wanted him to do the job. He was knowledgeable, eager to do the job and made some wonderful suggestions. He arrived promptly, did the job and was very helpful in taking on additional tasks .He painted the ceilings in the living, dining and family room and, of course, replacing the flooring in the closet. I ran out of $'s for the moment, but Grant will be back soon to do the flooring in two bedrooms and a hallway. A pleasure to work with, Grant made the task look easy, cleaned up after himself and even worked around two grandchildren underfoot. If you're looking for someone to do the job right -- call Grant Lewis.

Grant responded promptly when I called and scheduled a time to come out and do an estimate. He showed up on time, discussed what was needed, made some good suggestions, then emailed a quote. He stuck to the price he quoted. He was very good about showing up on time, calling if there was a delay, and working late to get the job done on time. He replaced the kitchen counters, removed the florescent fixtures and replaced them with track lights. He also rebuilt the fireplace surround and built a new mantle for it. He replaced the dressing room vanity and counter and installed dual basins, medicine cabinets and light fixtures. He also re-textured the entire living room/dining room ceiling. The quality of the work was excellent. Grant is personable and helpful. He has a lot of experience and expertise and really pays attention to detail. In addition, when asked, he offered several tips on how to do some other projects I was working on. I was very pleased with the work and will certainly call on him again.

Grant is the owner and he is so good at what he does. Their work was fantastic. His tile work was really great and he was so easy to work with. He's a really great guy and he holds himself to very high standards, sometimes a little too high. We were exceedingly pleased with his work. He was very affordable and I think he under prices himself especially on the tile work. It was just phenomenal. He was easy to work with and he got what we were trying to do. We were getting ready to sell our house so he understood that we wanted it to look really nice but we didn't want to spend a lot of money. He was totally willing to work with materials from a home improvement store. He helped us with what we should and shouldn't do. He has a lot of experience and was an excellent resource in helping us. We have already scheduled him for additional work.

He is great. He is dependable and experienced. He's been doing this for over 20 years and you really get a lot of bang for your buck. They always left their work areas tidy and they clean up after themselves. The work they do is great I would highly recommend them.
