+ 0 moreI received three quotes on painting the home, all three were similar in regard to cost; however, Jeff Hawken, president of the company, came to my house twice to clarify estimate and answer additional questions and also provided a color consult. I went with Texas Painting Company because of the detailed estimate provided and, what I would consider, exceptional customer service. The day the job was scheduled, I left for work in the morning - by the time I got home from work the entire house was painted and they did an extraordinary job! The paint lines are clean and sharp between base and accent colors - truly a professional job. So glad I went with them!

Description of Work: I hired Texas Painting Company to paint the outside of my house, the floor of my garage, and the interior of my warehouse. They did a great job on the exterior of my house and the garage there. For my home they get an A+. The work at my warehouse though was different. The first day's painting resulted in overspray getting everywhere, my toilet being clogged by workers who waited until starting work to take a sh**, and the painting in general being done so lightly that the wall beneath could be seen. The last of these was made worse by the fact that I specifically discussed the use of a primer as a condition of hiring TPC. In fact, when I signed the papers for the painter, I was told a primer would be applied. However, when work started no primer was used at all, and when I pointed that out to the foreman on the job he said, "don't worry, no primer needed." In any case, TPC did come back and correct the paint job a few days later, and now it looks great. On the second side of my warehouse, the painting went ok, but the floor epoxy was problematic in that it never dried completely. TPC came out today and corrected the problem, but the workers - who LOVE to use our toilets - all took turns today leaving my office smelling like bean taco farts. Everyone of them took a giant sh** in my bathroom. For this alone I will not rehire.

+ -1 moreThe sales consultant is a very nice man, however the owner and management is not very honest or trustworthy. I will not use them again in the future. The texture work did not match other parts of the condo. The work was sloppy, and no one on site spoke English. The owner was not willing to come and fix the texture job. When I confronted him about it, he was testy and ugly. I informed him he would not have the final payment until it was done correctly. It has been like pulling teeth working with the owner and I will not work with this company again.
Description of Work: I hired them to paint all walls, trim and cabinets in a small condo, as well as texturing the walls.

+ -1 moreThe painting was very high quality and looks great. My problems were with the price-I had a coupon from another organization and did not expect the price to be as high as it was; especially since I supplied the paint. My fault for not getting an estimate in advance. It was difficult initially to get in touch with anyone to set up an appointment and the first visit (where I thought I would get the estimate, the painters actually wanted to begin painting, so I cancelled and rescheduled). By the time of reschedule, I just needed to get the work done prior to some surgery; so again no estimate. The painters were about an hour and a half late, but I was there anyway so not too much of a difference (except to my dogs who were locked up in a bedroom or outside for the entire time). I would use the company again with the caveat that I get an estimate in writing first and knowing that I should expect them to be late.
Description of Work: Painted my entire living area and hallways. My living area is very open with wide expenses of windows so it was about 9 walls in total including half walls, arches and high angled walls.

+ -1 moreSo we had a rep who gave us a bid, but not itemized. We were constantly told that everything could be done the next day. The painters came and did part of the job. They did great. Several days later, they came back and did another part of the job. They did great. Then we were told that part of the job was not in the original bid and they we'd be charged more for that. Meanwhile, our credit card was charged for the whole amount instead of the half that they said they were going to charge. Later we were told that they mixed up our last name with someone else's and we were charged for theirs.(an additional $400) The rep told the faux finisher that our walls were eggshell even though I told here they were mat finished. So we were charged to glaze the walls before the faux finisher could come. And the faux finsiher books up weeks to months in advance. She stood us up 2 TIMES and were late when they did come. Also, the painters broke two slats on the blinds that, I guess, will be fixed when they come to finish the garage doors that still need to be painted. The painting was started over two weeks ago and our garage doors have not been painted and our blinds have not even been measured to be replaced.
Description of Work: Painted 2 bedrooms, dining room, study, celing in great room and faux finish in great room.

+ -1 moreWe bought a new house and wanted to update the look. We got bids from three companies and Texas Painting Company had the lowest price. However, I wasn't comfortable paying half up front so I negotiated paying 1/3 up front instead. Jeff agreed and wrote it on the contract. Later that day I looked at my credit card bill and saw that half had been charged. I called Jeff and he said that he would correct it. Several days passed, the work began and it still wasn't corrected. I asked him several more times to honor the agreement we had made and he said his staff had made a mistake and he would fix it. The work neared completion and I discovered that the other half was charged on my credit card. The contract said that the remainder wouldn't be charged until the work was completed and I had a chance to inspect it. I called Jeff and he once again blamed his staff and said that should never have happened. He never reversed any of the charges though. I considered filing a stop payment claim with my credit card, but at that point the work was completed on time and of decent quality, so I just let it go. The workers that did the painting were very pleasant and did a decent job. But I was not happy with the way Jeff handled the charges.
Description of Work: Painted all walls, trim, ceilings, and cabinetry. Removed popcorn ceiling. Removed wood paneling and re-textured wall. Removed decorative wood beams.

+ -1 moreThey did a good job. I was less happy with them because there was a lot of paint flushed around. They did a nice job with the wood repair on the deck. They were too fast because they were trying to do it before the rains. We also had to have some decks to be touched up. Some of the paint was leaking down and running on to the siding. We had them come back to clean it. They did a good job on the cleaning. The owner was the guy who came out and immediately took care of it. I will use them again.
Description of Work: They fixed our deck and painted it, and then painted the house.

+ 0 moreHorribly. Job started late. I was promised a team of 7-8 men each day and maybe 3 showed up every day. The job was supposed to be finshed in 7-10 working days and took over 3 weeks. They trashed my house and my garage in the process. Showed up around 10:00 a.m. and quit at 3:00 everyday. The upstairs bathroom looks like a child painted it. Some woodwork was not even painted. The foreman actually lied about the timeframe, manpower and completion time after time.
Description of Work: Painted entire interior of house including doors in kitchen cabinets (inside and out). Every wooden surface was painted.

+ -1 moreOverall, the interior painting went satisfactorily and the final results are good. Texas Painting Company utilizes multiple small crews to do jobs at various locations. For my job, one small crew was assigned as the primary, and that crew leader was nominally responsible for the whole interior paint job. The work took several weeks to complete, partly due to the coordination of the work with the carpentry activities mentioned above. As with most projects, there were pluses and minuses. Pluses: most of the employees were dedicated to doing a good job on the interior painting, particularly the crew leader. The employees were flexible and accommodated our own work activities (removing wall paper, etc). For the most part, they cleaned up well at the end of each day. Areas for improvement: company management was not involved in overseeing the work and rarely visited the site. Crew start times and size were variable, and some days no one came.
Description of Work: Texas Painting Company was contracted to paint all interior surfaces of our 4000 sq ft home which entailed a lot of detail: crown moldings, closets, some cabinets and drawers, built in desks, etc. In some cases, wallpaper had to be removed and texture added prior to painting. I had selected Texas Painting Co because they claimed to also do some light carpentry and drywall finishing, and I my project included replacing some windows, removing some dated fluorescent light boxes, and removing some kitchen cabinets which resulted in some carpentry and drywall work. The interior painting work had to be coordinated with these other project activities.

+ -1 moreI was told in advance by owners of company that I would get a quality job! They delivered! There were 2 crews on job, one for fence and one for house painting. Both crews were mostly young people and all were very polite and courteous. I always felt comfortable with all the workers. Two days were spent just sanding and prepping for the painting of the metal fence. I am hard to please, and I feel that no greater effort could have gone into attempting to remove the rust from fence. Then fence was primed and another 2 days was spent painting the fence. The house painting crew was equally as good and professional. Texas Paint Co. owners delivered to me everything they promised. Very, very satisfied! The crews also talked very nicely about owners of Texas Paint Co. NICE!
Description of Work: Paint outside stucco, soffits, and all wood trim in Heyle Custom Home on side of hill--a very challenging job!!!!!! I also contracted to repaint the metal fencing around the large lot. Even more challenging because there was a lot of rust build up after 5 years! I was promised that the rust would be removed. I also wanted a company that carried workmans compensation on employees and liability insurance.

Description of Work: They painted the entire interior and exterior of the home plus repaired the door frame and rotted lumber outside of the home. They also did some stucco repair on our 1500 square foot home.
