They replaced the gas water heater in my attic on the date and time they said they would, they cleaned up after themselves and took off the old water heater as agreed. This was a bit of a rush job since my old water heater quit working correctly and my sister was coming to visit. They contacted me within 15 minutes of my request for a quote through Angie but I felt like they could have done a better job of communicating with me at times through the process to ensure I knew they were on track to get it done on the date/time requested.

Sweetwater remodeled our bathroom in Nov/Dec and after screwing up the electric, the shower handles, misaligning the mirrors, and leaving silicon in the sink to the point where it barely drained, they proved incapable of finishing the job so I hired another firm and I thought I was done with these guys. Then we put our house on the market and had our inspections and it got worse. First, for our energy audit, it turns out that Sweetwater removed ALL of the insulation around the bathroom and didn't bother replacing it so we got dinged there. Then the actual home inspection occurred. The wall switch was free-floating, not attached to anything. There was another screw going *through* the hot wire into the wall creating a fire hazard (that's the second one). The tub drain had plaster and other crap slowing it. Overall, it cost an additional $500 and last minute work before the closing. That was after the $100 to earlier electrician and $1385 to the other firm to finish things. If you're looking for sloppy, incomplete work, fire hazards, slow drains, and no interest in sending someone competent to fix it, Sweetwater are the guys for you.

Jeff couldn't have been nicer or more professional. He came in and listened well to our proposals. He took measurements and showed us samples. He promptly provided a quote, and then a revised the quote when we wanted to make changes. The quote was for Onyx Collection wall panel material. For the price point we hope to list our house, we decided traditional tile would be a better choice. Appreciated Jeff's time and the care he took in providing our quote!

We hired Sweetwater to remodel our master bath. While the materials looked great, the series of mistakes, sloppiness, and general lack of care has made the experience miserable. Their entire "remodeling team" is one guy named Travis. They don't have ANYONE else on staff so if he's busy - or in our case makes catastrophic mistakes - they don't have anyone else. In our case: - when installing the drywall, he ran a screw through the hot wire shorting the fan and lights together. He didn't notice it and couldn't figure it out so we had to hire our own electrician to fix it. - he managed to flood our closet and living room. - the mirrors were not even. He sort of leveled them but not quite. - the bathtub faucet and handles are installed backwards so you have to turn off the water to go from tub to shower. - when you turn to the shower, it still runs the tub. - sinks are installed SO crooked that the front is an inch lower than the back. The grade is so high, things roll off into the basin. And this is the status AFTER they sent him over once to fix things. After requesting someone else, they admitted that they don't have anyone else and instead offered $500 for us to get it fixed ourselves and warned us that work would be "outside our warranty." What warranty!?

[Member Name Removed], I am sorry you have chosen to write a negative review versus allowing us to address your problem. First, most bathrooms are too small to accommodate multiple people working in them at the same time, so Travis does most of the work himself. He has many helpers at his disposal but utilizes them only when needed. We discussed the screw that accidentally hit an electrical wire and I offered to pay for the electrician that diagnosed it but you have not replied. Regarding the “flood”, your bathroom butts up to your living room and closet. There was a leak in the copper cold water feed that seeped about a foot under the wall into these rooms. Both rooms had already had carpet removed so the water was only on concrete. We dried up the water and concrete and there was no damage at all. At the time you indicated this was no big deal. In the end, there were two mirrors that needed to be leveled and two sinks that needed adjustment. This is maybe 4 to 6 hours of work and we offered to come back out the next day to correct these issues. For some reason you wanted to hire another person for over $1,385.00 to perform this work and that I cannot authorize. Travis has always received praise for his work. This is not to say your requests were not justified which is why we offered no resistance to coming back to ensure your satisfaction. Please share before and after pictures to show the beautiful transformation of your bath. Anyone who has ever had remodeling done usually ends up with a “punch list” of small items they would like addressed. In closing, Sweetwater Home Services will still stand behind our offer to come back and address these issues at no cost to you. Please give this some consideration to bring closure to your remodel.

We just finished an upstairs (Guest) bathroom remodel with Sweetwater Home Services. New walls, new counter and cabinet fronts, new tub, new surround and new fixtures. Basically everything new with the exception of the tile floor. Over the past 30 years I have been involved with roughly 7 – 8 home improvement projects of one form or another. I can say without reservation that this project was the most pleasant, seamless and problem free remodel I have ever experienced. The Sweetwater representative Jeff Asmussen was an absolute pleasure to work with. He answered all our questions, gave us exceptional guidance as we selected products for the project and was always available if we needed additional assistance or clarification. The actual on sight liaison was Travis. Travis personally oversaw every step of the project and we were totally comfortable with his presence in our home. He was so patient with our priorities and was always willing and eager to make minor tweaks in the plans as the project unfolded. The bottom line the project finished up as expected and was within $100 of the estimate for the entire remodel. We could not be more pleased and would use Sweetwater and its team again in a heartbeat.

In Spring, 2019 we wanted to update our small master bathroom and remove the tub and make it a walk in shower, add a tile floor, and change out the vanity, toilet, mirror, and light. No plumbing, drains, or walls were being moved. Of the five recommended Angie's List companies recommended, four came out and of those four, two contractors literally came in the house, asked what work we needed (even though this was explained in the Details listing the scope of work), looked at our bathroom and turned around and walked out saying the job was too small, which was a total waste of time. The final two companies, someone else and Sweetwater submitted bids to us, but ultimatly we decided on Sweetwater, which was not the lowest bid. We decided on Sweetwater because they do all of the work with the exception of the tile. We worked with Jeff and he was exceptional to work with. No pressure, very patient with our questions, and made sure we were clear about the details of the contract. The shower material Sweetwater recommends is high quality and have no doubt that it will last. They are dependable and arrive generally at the same hour of the morning - if they are going to be late it's usually let you know. The work was performed between July and August of 2019. I didn't want to immediately submit a review until the break-in period passed. I have to say that I am pleased with the work and have recommended Sweetwater to a number of friends who are interested in a bathroom remodel.

A very polite representative showed up on time for the appointment. We went to the kitchen where my husband was having his first coffee of the day. The company representative proceeded with the sales pitch that included a power point presentation on an iPad and an explanation of the filtration system and I started asking him technical questions (e.g.: How often do you have to change the filters? How big is the filtration unit?, Where do you install it?, etc.) At that point, my husband leaves the kitchen to seat in the patio to drink his coffee and leaves me talking to the guy. Usually I am the one who takes care of these kind of stuff at home and then we discuss and make decisions. My husband hates to engage on this kind of stuff. At this point the representative tells me that he can't continue the demonstration if my husband is not there. I asked why? He tells me that it is because they need both individuals present so that they don't have to repeat stuff or come back to explain again. At this point I will introduce the following piece of information: Both my husband and myself hold PhD science degrees (not that this is necessary to understand this stuff!). It looks to me like the company policy here is that they want to have the husband involved so that "he understands" and that "he can make the decision". This is the most ridiculous and sexist policy I have ever seen in a company like this. They come to MY house, I give them the opportunity to show ME their product and they are going to tell me how I am going to listen to their sales pitch while seating in MY kitchen? Really? Do they know that women can vote without having to bring their husbands into the voting station? I'll tell you this, that company is not going to get our business ... NEVER! One thing I want to emphasize, the guy was clearly following company policy, he was very polite and I don't hold this against him. He is just trying to do his job the best he can. Yes people .... it is 2017!
Description of Work: Please read this keeping in mind that we are in year 2017: I took one of those "free" water tests that they give you in Home Depot to test the water quality at home. Results came back indicating that the water was moderately hard (6). I knew this was going to be the case since we live in Central Texas. Then I received a call from Sweetwater Home Services to schedule an appointment to run "further test" and I agreed since we have been talking about getting a water filtration system for a while. The representative asked me if my husband was going to be home during the visit (take note that I am a woman -> very important point apparently) and I said yes since it was going to be on a Saturday. Read next chapter on the "How did it go?" section to see what happened.....amazing!

Thank you for providing feedback on your experience. Currently, our company conducts water testing for approximately 600 families per month. We do this free of charge and generally provide a $20 gift card just to say thanks for both parties taking the time to see the analysis. Our experience has taught us that in 90% of the cases where both parties are not present, we will be making a return trip to the same home. Unfortunately, that can literally cut our business in half due to not being available to see a new client. If the roles had been reversed, and you had not been available to participate, the same results would have happened. We do confirm at the least 2 times while setting the appointment that BOTH parties will be available. We do not high-pressure anyone. Please check out our reviews and you will see hundreds of people that did not buy our products but were very impressed with how we conduct business. We do make ourselves available 7 days a week, from 9 am to 9 pm, just to accommodate everyone's schedule. I am terribly sorry we were not able to accommodate you.

Not well at all. I listened to the whole pitch in as fast a time as possible. I told Eddie I would consider the product. He was insistent that my husband also needed to hear the pitch, so I scheduled for him to come back the next day when we would both be at home. In my fatigue, I forgot to remind him about the gift card before he left. After talking to my husband, he reminded me that the same company had sent a different type of mailer with a "final notice" warning on it and that he'd called the number with the same pitch (water testing, both people present, etc. Also, each mailer had a different phone number: 210-683-9732, 800-914, 4214, 877-772-5990, etc.). When I called Eddie back to tell him that my husband said he was in no way interested in the product, Eddie said he had other, less expensive products. Then he said he could just install the drinking water mount at the kitchen sink. Then he said they also deliver bottled water, which was one of the products we were already receiving and one he dissed saying that it was unhealthy due to bacteria collecting in the emptying bottle. At that point, I had to be more emphatic that we were not interested in the products and I asked what I needed to do to receive the gift card. At that point, his tone changed considerably. He was rude and said, "Oh I see where this is going. You're only interested in the gift card." I said, "when you pitch your company with a gift card bait, that should be expected." I said forget about the card since it's not that we needed the $25 (in my mind, I felt I'd earned it with all the lost time and productivity). Lesson learned. Avoid this company and Eddie.
Description of Work: I responded to one of several advertisements sent: $25 WalMart gift card, $20 Home Depot gift card, etc. Nowhere on the cards was there any information saying it was for a water filtration company. When I called (the cards had different phone numbers on them) and learned they were all from the same company, I still noted that I was calling about the gift card. I was told someone would have to come to my home and do a brief water analysis to make sure my water was fine. When Eddie (one of the owners I learned) arrived, it was not a short water test. I had to speed him along on a few occasions as to why he was there and what he was doing. As it turned out, it was all a sales pitch about a nearly $8000 whole-house water filtration system.

Jeff the Sweetwater salesman was excellent. He tested my water and shared the results with me. He described the systems and answered all my quesitons completely. I am very happy with the product and the installation. This is the best home water system on the market. It sells itself. Benefits include health, longer appliance life, and improvement in your home's water distribution system. The soft water will gradually dissolve the hard mineral deposits in your pipes and even in your water heater. If you decide to purchase a system please use my name as a reference and let me know. If I get 6 households to buy a system the company will refund the price of my system to me. Thanks I hope you go for it and please let me know! Christy Kale

I gave a D for professionalism because I was promised a $20 home depot card for the visit. I was promised that it would be sent in the mail and received in the next week. It has been more than 3 weeks. I will change the rating if I ever receive it. I will give a description of the visit just so the reader knows about the sales tactics. Go to the last paragraph for my summary. The salesman came to the house was very respectful. I told him that I want a water softener, just need an estimate. He then went in to a talk about why I should have a water softener (save money, skin issues, plumbing, etc.). Some of the estimate of the money savings were way overestimated. Anyways, I already knew or already agreed with his reasoning and I am not sure if I communicated that I want a water softener, but he still talked for about an hour about the benefits...OK. Next he gave the estimate on the whole house water system (rainsoft) and it was $7000, which was $3000 more than anyone else. He explained that it is the best system with the best warranty (limited lifetime) and I will never have to worry about it. Of course I went into specifics. Asked about costs to change the carbon filter and reverse osmosis filters with the proprietary system. Asked about limited lifetime warranty and found that it is 3 years parts and labor and then no labor after 3 years. I can't remember all the numbers but there were a lot of hidden costs. The final thing was an offer a bunch of soap (5 years worth I believe) to get you to buy on the spot. I said no. I was finally able to say no about 1 hour and 30 minutes into the visit, and I believe that he would have played a little more hardball, but my wife was busy with 2 toddlers and a baby and was ready for my help. The salesman seemed to get the hint that he was not getting the sale that night and that if he stayed longer, he would have to face a wife with little patience. Overall, I thought the salesman was respectful and he was just doing his job. Personally, I don't like the rainsoft scheme of pushing the customer to buy on the spot with an offer of soap. This causes me to think that they don't want the customer to do research, and if they did, then there would be something much cheaper. The rainsoft brand has good reviews and is high quality, but from my research on forums there are systems that are much cheaper that have close to the same quality. I do not want to say, don't buy from them, but just at least think about what you need. Personally, I went with a discount company with a $1600 installed Clack system (softener, carbon, no Reverse osmosis) and I will install a Reverse osmosis myself for around $200 if I find I need one.
Description of Work: The provider tested the hardness of my water and gave an estimate for a whole house water system (softener, carbon filter, Reverse Osmosis). I did not purchase anything.

I contacted them through Home Depot so I actually got charged through Home Depot. They didn’t charge me anything. They are contacted through Home Depot. They’re fantastic. After the installation probably about a month, there was problem and they came back and adjusted it free of charge because they were still within the warranty of having just installed it. They have another deal. It’s a system that when you move from one house to another, they will move your whole water system. All you have to do is to pay $100 and they will uninstall it and install it to your current new house. There is soft water throughout the entire house like the showers and the outside faucet. You can actually water the plant with soft water but if you want to conserve you can switch that to hot water faucet. They’re definitely on the expensive side but I would say they were very much worth it. The two guys came out to install and it was freezing last February. They stayed longer than they plan to because it was taking them longer. They were actually going to stop because it started drizzling and it was way too cold but they decided to stay and finish the job than to come back on a different day. I definitely think that they are amazing. Their customer service and professionalism is top notch.

They were good. I was happy with them. They came out and installed the equipment quickly and we had an issue with I think it was a power surge or something. It's a couple months afterwards, they came out and replaced the transformers and everything at no charge. They're very good. The water quality is much better than it was before. There is a snow on the hot water before we got the sulfur removal system put in and that's gone. When they came back out in April or May, it was another issue with the water heater that was causing the snow and it turned out to be just in the water, so we had to get the second unit. It's a water treatment. We had some repairs done to the water heater that didn't get rid of the snow like we'd hoped. So, once that didn't work, we had the new treatment unit put in. The equipment works well and they're very responsive to customer request on issues. No real issues, except for what I said at one time I think it was a power surge and a few other things in the house as well. It blew up the transformers that were plugged into the wall and so there was no power getting to the unit and so they weren't operating at all. We called them and they were out within the next day or so.

They are good. We have no problems with them. They do good work and they come on time. When I call them up and make an appointment, they come when they say they are going to come. Every different technician that we've had come out so far over the 5 years knows their product and they can answer all my questions. I definitely recommend them. I haven't had any experience with any other company so I can't compare them, but we have been pleased with what they have done. When we first started with them 5 years ago, it was like $80 for them to come out and a lot of it depends on what they do. I feel it is reasonable.
