It was perfect! I have used him for years for other electrical projects. I have had him rewire older homes, he's always on time and very reasonable. He is very personable.

I usually dont write too many reviews, but this job was large and left such a bad taste in my mouth that I had to inform the others. Scotty and Jimmy are the most unprofessional people I have met, not to mention unethical to the core. Here is what happened: 1. Scotty put in a quote for $4000 for a job. We got competing bids and Scotty dropped his quote to $2800. I really should have walked away at that point but my contractor wanted to use Scotty. Big mistake. 2. Scotty sent Jimmy to the house who had no idea what the job needed and he would call Scotty every 10 minutes to confirm. This also caused Jimmy to make at least 6-7 different trips to the house. Communication was really poor all around. 3. Once the job started, Scotty started telling us that he didnt include the lights in our quote, which clearly was part of scope. He needed $500 more for it. I agreed since the job was already under way and he had filed permit for it. 4. Later he told us that the permit will not pass without smoke detectors being installed. I told him to go ahead under assumption he will install hardwired smoke detectors. Well, he installed wireless ones! I could have done that myself for lot less. Under false pretenses we were charged another $600! This outfit is unprofessional and they are only looking at ways to make more money. Oh, and he always wanted to come do the work when it was cold outside. He said that they wanted to work inside when it is cold, so not only do I pay them, I also pay to keep them warm and comfortable! Just a horrible, horrible experience. I will not use this person ever again. Be very wary of any and quot;estimateand quot; that he might give you.

I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received by Jimmy with Scotty Reynold's Electric. The final work I decided to do was modified from my original plan discussed with him; he did his best to comply and insure I was happy with the work while explaining how certain of my new ideas might be more costly due to the labor intensity involved. I appreciated this since it allowed me to prioritize according to my time and budget. He also provided information regarding current code standards -- very important to us -- especially if we were to have to move and sell the home. After contacting the electrician the first time, a time was scheduled for him to come look at the job I was interested in. I was not charged for that call. Jimmy then sent a bid to my email address and followed up with a phone call so I would know it had been sent. His bid was based on estimated time for job completion -- or he can also be hired by the hour (which I preferred). His final price by the hour will also include cost of materials. Jimmy was always open to questions and shared different ideas that I hadn't considered in planning my kitchen update. . . like mentioning the new pneumatic disposal buttons -- which I had installed and love!!!! When I finalized my decision to utilize his company, a date and time was set for the next week. (He's quite busy). He arrived on time and quickly got to work. He took care about cleaning up after his work was completed. He received calls on the job -- but kept them as brief as possible. Though Scotty Reynold's Electric is located out of Austin, Jimmy lives in East Williamson County -- which was extremely convenient since I live in Taylor, Tx. Though I don't have experience with other electrician(s) associated with this electric company, I highly recommend Jimmy to anyone living in Taylor, Hutto or surrounding areas in addition to the Austin area. He works diligently and fast yet was thoughtful and responsive to my questions. I view him as a professional with integrity. He reported 30 years experience. Excellent service. Great value. Highly recommend him! Sorry I don't have pictures to include -- my kitchen is still 'a work in progress'!
Description of Work: Electrical work in kitchen during a kitchen update included: 1. Installed 3 new outlets above different cabinet sets and linked them into 1dimmer switch so I can add rope lights at a later time; 2. prepped my countertop outlets as needed before setting tile; 3. addressed electrical problems uncovered (or rather discovered) after I removed my tile backsplash. (Certain plug outlets hadn't been securely installed). 4. moved electrical supply for dishwasher and disposal to more convenient (and attractive) location; 5. Connected dishwasher & disposal 6. Thoroughly instructed me on electrical safety issues to consider as I plan on retiling my backsplash myself. Electrical work in hallway: 1. Installed new hallway light 2. Linked new light with current light 3.Installed a dimmer control switch for both 4. Changed out old light fixture
